Online broker eToro has hired experienced industry executive Jelena Dubackic as Financial Crime Operations Manager. The appointment adds to eToro’s operational leadership as the company continues to develop its brokerage activities following its public listing in May of last year.

Dubackic is based in Cyprus and joins eToro after spending the past two years at Afterprime. At Afterprime, an Australia-based, CySEC licensed CFDs broker, she served as Head of Back Office. Her new role at eToro as Financial Crime Operations Manager places her within a core function tasked with overseeing and managing financial crime-related operations.

Before her time at Afterprime, Dubackic held positions at institutional broker Blackwell Global and CRM systems provider TradeCore. This background spans brokerage operations and financial technology support services, providing her with experience across different segments of the trading and investment ecosystem.

eToro, which went public in May of last year, is headquartered in Israel and is led by CEO Yoni Assia. The company operates as an online broker, offering trading and investment services to its clients. The addition of a Financial Crime Operations Manager underscores the importance of operational oversight in areas such as compliance and risk-related processes within the brokerage industry.

Dubackic’s move from an Australia-based, CySEC licensed CFDs broker to a publicly listed online broker highlights the ongoing demand for experienced financial operations professionals in the sector. Her combination of back-office leadership and prior roles at an institutional broker and a CRM systems provider reflects a career focused on the operational and infrastructure aspects of financial services.

The hiring of Dubackic as Financial Crime Operations Manager represents a further build-out of eToro’s internal capabilities as it continues to operate as a listed company under the leadership of CEO Yoni Assia. The appointment aligns with broader industry trends in strengthening oversight of financial crime operations within regulated brokerage environments.
