The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published a warning regarding Investing ib, stating that the firm may be providing or promoting financial services or products in the UK without the regulator's permission.

According to the notice, Investing ib is not authorised by the FCA and may be targeting people in the UK. The regulator advises that consumers should avoid dealing with this firm and remain alert to the risk of scams.

Details of the unauthorised firm

The FCA lists the following details for Investing ib:

  • Name: Investing ib
  • Address: 6 Molton Street, London, UNITED KINGDOM
  • Telephone: 02065290356
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Website: www.ib-investing.com

The FCA notes that some firms may provide incorrect or changing contact details, including postal addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. They may also use contact details belonging to other businesses or individuals to make their operations appear genuine.

Regulatory protections and potential impact

The warning highlights that consumers who deal with Investing ib will not have access to the UK Financial Ombudsman Service if they wish to complain. In addition, they will not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if the firm fails or if things go wrong.

As a result, it is considered unlikely that customers would be able to recover their money if the firm goes out of business. The FCA also notes that individuals who sent money to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may be covered by protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR).

Guidance for consumers

The FCA advises consumers to deal only with financial firms that are authorised by the regulator, as authorisation offers greater protection when problems arise. To verify whether a firm is authorised and has permission to provide specific services, consumers are directed to use the FCA Firm Checker.

The regulator also encourages reporting of suspected unauthorised firms. Individuals who believe they have been approached by an unauthorised firm are asked to contact the FCA by calling 0800 111 6768 or by using the FCA's contact form.

The warning on Investing ib was first published on 09/04/2026 and last updated on the same date.
