Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
We reached this verdict from a small number of solid, checkable facts.
- A regulator warned about this exact website. Spain's CNMV lists YFX Capital and www.yfxcapital.com as an unauthorised firm, dated 10 July 2017. That is a national regulator saying this operation solicited clients without permission.
- No licence anywhere. There is no regulator, licence number or register entry for YFX Capital. The operator, TW Capital LTD, sat in the Marshall Islands, which does not supervise forex trading at all.
- A false protection claim. The homepage advertised 'FSCS protection on eligible accounts'. The FSCS is a United Kingdom scheme that only covers firms authorised by the UK FCA. An unauthorised Marshall Islands firm cannot offer it, so this was a false statement used to reassure depositors.
- Boiler-room selling. The site pushed a 'dedicated personal broker' and '1 on 1 personal training', asked for a high $2,500 minimum, and even left template placeholder text in place. These are the tools of a high-pressure sales operation, not a normal brokerage.
- Money complaints. Across broker-review and complaint sites, clients describe withdrawals delayed or refused and demands to pay a 'tax' or 'fee' before any release. There is no legitimate fee of that kind.
- It has since collapsed. The site stopped operating after about 2021, the domain lapsed, and a domain reseller picked it up and put it up for sale.
On this record we treat YFX Capital as a scam and assess the risk of fraud as high. We stop short of a stronger label only because there is no court judgment or enforcement case naming the firm, and the strongest money-loss reports sit on lower-quality recovery-oriented sites.
Note on operating history: the 9.5-year track record rests on domain registration alone. No company incorporation date could be established, so this is an upper bound rather than a confirmed age.
Evidence ledger
Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1Spain's CNMV lists YFX CAPITAL and WWW.YFXCAPITAL.COM on its public register of warned, unauthorised firms, dated 10/07/2017. A national regulator states the operation was not authorised to offer investment services.
E2The archived homepage advertised 'FSCS protection on eligible accounts', a UK scheme reserved for FCA-authorised firms, alongside a 'dedicated personal broker', '1 on 1 personal training' and leftover template placeholder text. The footer named no legal entity or licence number.
E3An FX scam-warning review rated YFX Capital 1 out of 5, recorded that the site named its operator as TW Capital LTD in the Marshall Islands, noted the absence of any regulatory oversight, a $2,500 minimum deposit and MetaTrader 4, and cautioned that offshore firms often impose unexpected fees and withdrawal delays after the first deposit.
E4An independent broker-review site rates YFX Capital as non-regulated and unsafe, confirms the Marshall Islands base and operator TW Capital LTD, records the CNMV blacklisting, notes Spanish and British phone numbers used to reach clients where the firm was not authorised, and reports the website as inactive.
Moderate55Brokers broker reviewE5The broker's site served content from about 2017 to 2021, then went dark. The registry record shows the lapsed domain was re-registered through a domain reseller on 29 May 2026, with resale nameservers, and it now resolves to a domain-for-sale page.
E6The broker did provide the genuine MetaTrader 4 platform and a working demo account, and offshore registration by itself is not proof of a scam. These points were weighed in the broker's favour.
The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
In fairness, we looked for innocent explanations before landing here.
- Offshore is not automatically a scam. Plenty of real brokers hold only offshore registrations. Marshall Islands registration on its own would be a risk flag, not proof of wrongdoing.
- There was a real platform. The broker offered genuine MetaTrader 4 software and a demo account with tight demo spreads, so a working trading front end existed.
- We did not verify a single theft first-hand. The specific 'pay a fee to withdraw' complaints come mostly from review and recovery sites, and we could not tie one to a named account with amounts and dates.
These points explain why we did not go further than we did. They do not survive the CNMV warning, the false FSCS claim and the offshore no-licence structure, which together point to deception rather than an ordinary high-risk broker.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
We would revisit this assessment if the facts changed.
- A financial regulator's register showing that YFX Capital or TW Capital LTD actually held a licence that covered taking client deposits.
- Removal of the CNMV warning, or evidence that it named a different company by mistake.
- Credible, first-hand proof that clients were consistently paid out on request during the years the site operated.
None of these exist today, and the operation is now defunct, so the assessment is unlikely to improve.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is YFX Capital a scam?
We assess YFX Capital as a scam and rate the risk to any deposit as high. It held no licence, Spain's CNMV warned it was unauthorised, its site falsely advertised UK FSCS protection, and clients report blocked withdrawals. The operation is now defunct.
Is YFX Capital a fraud?
Fraud is a crime that a court decides, and we found no court judgment or criminal case naming YFX Capital. What the record shows is a CNMV warning, a false compensation-cover claim, and reports of refused withdrawals and fee demands. On that basis we assess the risk of fraud as high.
Is YFX Capital regulated?
No. There is no licence for YFX Capital on any financial register. Its operator, TW Capital LTD, was based in the Marshall Islands, which does not regulate forex trading. Spain's CNMV publicly listed it as an unauthorised firm in 2017.
Can I withdraw my money from YFX Capital?
The site no longer operates, so there is nothing to log in to. During its active years, clients reported withdrawals delayed or refused and demands to pay a 'fee' or 'tax' first. Never pay such a fee.
Is my money safe with YFX Capital?
No. There was no regulator, no compensation scheme and no verified segregation of client funds. The advertised FSCS protection did not apply to an unauthorised offshore firm.
Who owns YFX Capital?
The broker named its operator as TW Capital LTD in the Marshall Islands. The Marshall Islands does not publish a searchable company register, so ownership and directors could not be confirmed independently.
Where is YFX Capital based?
The operator was registered in the Marshall Islands, an offshore jurisdiction. Some records list Vanuatu, but the broker's own site and independent reviews point to the Marshall Islands. It used Spanish and British phone numbers to reach clients.
Is the YFX Capital website still working?
No. www.yfxcapital.com stopped serving a brokerage after about 2021. The domain later lapsed and is now advertised for sale, so it is not a live broker today.
What was the 'FSCS protection' claim on the YFX Capital site?
The homepage advertised FSCS protection. The FSCS is a UK scheme that only covers firms authorised by the UK FCA. YFX Capital held no FCA authorisation, so the claim was false and misleading.
What does the CNMV warning about YFX Capital mean?
Spain's markets regulator, the CNMV, placed YFX Capital and www.yfxcapital.com on its list of unauthorised firms on 10 July 2017. It means the firm was not allowed to offer investment services in Spain.
I was asked to pay a fee to withdraw from YFX Capital. What should I do?
Do not pay. There is no genuine tax or fee paid to a broker to release your own funds, and paying only leads to more demands. Contact your bank about a chargeback and report it to your regulator and the police.
Is YFX Capital the same as other brokers with 'YFX' in the name?
No. Several unrelated firms use 'YFX' or similar names. This assessment is locked to www.yfxcapital.com and the operator TW Capital LTD, and does not apply to any other company.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
Treat YFX Capital as unsafe and do not send it money.
- Do not deposit. The company held no licence, was warned by Spain's CNMV, and its site is no longer a working brokerage.
- If you are asked to pay a 'tax', 'fee' or 'insurance' to release a withdrawal, do not pay. No real broker or government charges a fee like that, and paying only invites more demands.
- Be alert to recovery scams. People who lost money to brokers like this are often targeted again by fake 'fund recovery' services. Do not pay anyone who guarantees to get your money back.
- If you deposited, contact your bank or card provider about a chargeback and report the matter to your national financial regulator and the police.
- Note that the domain is for sale, so a new and unrelated owner could put anything on www.yfxcapital.com in future.
