WikiLix Privacy Policy

Updated August 2025

WikiLix, located at https://www.wikilix.com, values your privacy and protection as a customer. As a financial services review site, many of our visitors share or read sensitive personal information about brokers and trading services. Thus, we understand our obligations are not only to provide safe and accurate financial ratings, but also to make sure every visitor is confident that we respect their personal information.

This privacy policy will outline the different methods of data we collect, why we provide consent to process that data, and the procedures we take to help secure the data.

By visiting or using WikiLix, you agree to these Terms. We encourage you to read this policy in full as it explains your rights as a user and describes our compliance with applicable privacy regulations across the globe.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following - General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA); LGPD in Brazil; PDPA in Singapore; and various other privacy frameworks across the globe as a means to protect individuals with respect to their personal information.

1. Introduction

WikiLix is independent informational site on brokers, trading platforms, and financial service offerings. When users visit our site they rely on our content in making their real life decisions about financial services. Therefore, we believe it is fundamentally important that we are dedication to ensuring their customers feel confident their information will not be used against them, and that privacy is an essential part of our business model.

This Privacy Policy is designed to cover every visit regardless of where the visitor lives in the world. No matter where you access the website from, and whether you're using the website (ie; from Europe, the United States, Asia, etc.), our rules about your data are consistent and clear. Our purpose is to clearly describe the types of information we collect, how long we keep it, how we use it, and the circumstances under which it may be shared.

Trust in our digital world is based not only on the accuracy of financial particulars, but also the accuracy of data privacy. Because of this, WikiLix takes privacy as seriously as we treat financial particulars.

2. Types of Information We Collect

When you use WikiLix, a combination of information is collected from you or automatically recorded by the technology we use. Some of this information identifies you personally, while some is simply descriptive about your engagement with the services we provide.

If you register for an account, subscribe for newsletters, or send us a broker review, we will request personal information including your name, an active email address and all the required details to create an account. This information allows us to provide you with personalized features, verify your account and keep you informed of our service.

In addition to the information you provide directly, our servers also automatically record technical information about your visit, including your IP address, browser, device type, operating platform, and language preference (but not limited to).

Although we do not know you by name, we are able to discern many things as our website is optimized to work correctly. Even though our platform primarily provides financial services, some users choose to provide financial related data.

For example, sometimes when you are posting a review you may indicate the type of trading account you have with the broker, deposits or withdrawals experiences, or some inputs about the financial tools. We do not process user payment or credit information, but we will process the descriptive data that you made and share.

In addition, your user transactions produce non-identifiable data. For example, as you navigate through the pages of our site, our analytical tools track which articles you have visited, how long you read them on each page, and how you moved through them.

Our analytical systems record this data in addition to the date and time of your activity, and cookies and other similar technologies to assist in one way or another. Ultimately, we leverage this information to inform improvements in navigability, prevent abuse, and measure user engagement of our content.

Finally, anything you provide in the form of UGC (user generated content)(comments or reviews) will reside on our service indefinitely. You are welcome to change your mind and delete your words as much as you want, however, both the time when you posted and the IP address the words were made from will be retained privately for moderation and fraud deterrence.

Our hope is to promote discourse while still maintaining due diligence and accountability by those holding opinions to WikiLix.

3. Use of Information

All information retained by WikiLix is used solely for bona fide purposes which support its mission of providing verifiable financial coverage. We only use data in conformance with the services we provide, and shall only utilize data as legitimately including user consent, to carry out the site consistent with a contract, or statutory purpose.

In the main we use information in our business to improve and statistical personalising your experience with the site. We are able to alter our layouts and features around useful content when we understand which articles are getting the most hits.

We may conduct some pattern analysis of issues that may be repeated for brokers when you submit a review, which assists us in improving the delivery of information in financial.

Another main use is communicating with the primary users of the vehicle we provide. For example, when you contact us through the contact form, or through the support email we are using your information for an improved communication.

Occasionally we will send you other information about any policy changes or improvements to the vehicle that you use, but these communications will only be limited to your use of that platform.

A further mean use is security and fraud detection. We store some technical information like your IP address, and when we identify unusual activity, we will conduct an investigation to establish if it is attempts at spam, or manipulating reviews, or unauthorized access to the platform. This level of background monitoring, safeguards both you and the platform.

Finally, we use data for analytics and compliance. We measure site performance and bottlenecks (for example) where users are having usability issues through aggregate metrics. In some situations, we process data for the purpose of fulfilling our legal obligations such as requests legally made via laws including GDPR or CCPA, notably on the matter of users being able to experience their rights.

4. Retention Policy

WikiLix will only hold personal information for as long as is needed to achieve the purpose for which the information was collected. Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the data, the legal or operational requirements for data retention etc.

For example; when you register for an account we will hold your login and contact details until you delete the account or it has been dormant for a reasonable period of time (usually two years i.e. the time after which accounts may be anonymized or deleted).

User reviews present another complicating factor. Reviews are fundamentally important to transparency and as such, they may be retained indefinitely (and this is how we maintain a historical record of broker performance). That said, if we were asked to remove personal association with a review we can easily anonymize your contribution while retaining the review, and still available to other members.

Analytic and technical engagement data i.e. page views, navigation etc., is commonly recorded and maintained for a shorter timeframe. Records are usually maintained for a period of twelve to thirty-six months before being aggregated or deleted.

Once aggregated, the data no longer relates to individuals as such can be safely used for analysis for a long time.

We also do not take any specific user request to delete lightly. If you ask us to delete your processing of personal data relating to you (your right to be forgotten under GDPR for example), or if you ask us to delete your data under CCPA, then we will delete your data unless there is a retention period mandated by law (ie: for fraud, legal issues...).

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

WikiLix, like most modern websites, use cookies and similar technologies to ensure the website is easy to use and to generally make for a friendly experience. Cookies are files stored on the user's device that help retain data about your actions or behavior behind the wheel of our website. Cookies remember your language or location preferences so you do not have to reset them each time you make a trip over.

Some cookies are really applicable to the operation of our platform. Without those cookies, logging into your account will not work, submitting a broker review will not work. Others are to help us understand how users experience our content. By knowing "what" they are doing (that is with the analysis), we can know what topics matter and change user access to them.

We also use analytical technologies to measure usage, technology problems, and of course, analysis, and articles and broker comparison features. These technologies are used to capture aggregate information such as the number of visitors, time on page, and more. In some case cookies are used to link any promotions which may be relevant to our users, and their clients, or affiliate partner network.

Users who feel cookies should not be in play can choose and/or remove cookies by changing their browser settings. This will limit some personalization, and you may not be to use some features of the website, but you can use the site. Our stance is to allow you control over what data is retained and to be honest and straightforward about how tracking technologies work.

6. Third-Party Services and Advertising

WikiLix may enter a relationship with trusted third party services, to continue to operate and build our site. For example, we may use third party services, such as Google Analytics, when we and our licensees are designing methods to collect basic metrics regarding site performance, and metrics regarding user engagement in order to develop our services.

These partners will aggregate all of the information obtained from the sites in order to synthesise the information in developing a service. Unless we required our partner to identify an individual by the information obtained, from the partner's view point, there would be no way for them to identify that individual.

Because our site performs financial service functions, there may be advertisements or affiliate links. If you were to click on an advertisement or an affiliate link, you may be going to another site operated by broker dealers, trading platforms or partners. All of your access of that site and your use of that site, and what you may do while you are there, will be subject to those 3rd parties' privacy policies, and not to WikiLix's. As a summary, we encourage you to review their practices when or if you engage with any of the 3rd parties services.

This point is very important because we do work with advertisers or affiliates, WikiLix will never sell personal data to anyone, including any 3rd party. The information we would share would be limited to only things necessary to provide a service, required to secure your safety, or to law enforcement. To clarify with you, while we carefully select our partners, we have absolutely no control, and no responsibility will any third party source handle any data that may be collected, while you remain on the WikiLix site and anytime you exit the site. Each provider will have their own policies and agreements that govern your use of their services. Unless the service takes place on the WikiLix site, any time you engage with the service, you enter the service provider's terms and agreement you are then governed by that provider's terms and agreements.

7. Data Sharing and Disclosure

WikiLix will never sell, rent or give away any personally identifiable information, at all times and under all circumstances. There could be a few very limited circumstances where any, data sharing could occur.

We have specifically identified and laid out those limited circumstances and the lawful base for each circumstance and we have adopted reasonable confidentiality protections, explicit and implied. The first circumstance will be if we are obligated by law.

If a government request is lawful and there is a government regulatory agency, we may be required to turn over the limited data to a government or regulatory agency in order to comply with a regulator or regulation.

In this situation we will be acting in accordance with the regulation and will only have disclosed an information only as required by an obligation imposed by law - no more. The second circumstance will be where any disclosure would protect the legitimate rights, property, safety of any site or person or in the public interest, where WikiLix, our users, the public, or other groups and organizations have had any breach of trust, whether for use or ownership has occurred.

For example, if we suspect fraud or abuse, we may contact authorities or contact service providers that may be able to resolve the request. Lastly, being a restructured business can also be a reason to share data. If WikiLix is being acquired, merged, or reorganized, user information may shared with a third party.

If so, the new entity will be bound by the same privacy collection, use and disclosure obligations as described in this policy.

Lastly, we use contractors, service providers and cloud-based service providers in relation to operational functions including hosting, providing customer support, analytics, etc.

These contractors and service providers will either be provided electronic access that sets access to the information they required to provide their services to WikiLix or will have specific confidentiality obligations in separate agreements that would prohibit disclosure or misappropriation of user information.

Any agreements with our data processors and those with user data will be subject to those contract terms and privacy obligations only if they can be found in the first agreement.

8. International Data Transfers

Since WikiLix is a global platform, all data collected from your use of our platform could be stored or processed in another country (outside of your jurisdiction). This includes transfers to our servers and our hosting partners in the USA, Europe, and other countries.

For EU users, we have to recognize your rights and obligations under the GDPR, which requires us to protect all personal information collected from EEA individuals regardless of where they are located.

Whether you are in the USA, or whether data traverses purposes in the USA and internationally, WikiLix's use of your data will always respect the laws of the location you are located and those laws - which will broadly limit our use of your data and would likely include any obligations to treat data for compliance with the CCPA or other meta regimes.

To countries like Brazil or Singapore, WikiLix will try to reasonably comply with domestic law and privacy regulations. When we are transferring your data whether inter-state or internationally, WikiLix will use the principles of transparency, necessity and security. WikiLix will use those principles at all times to ensure that international processing does not fall below what you are entitled to as a user.

9. User Rights

Our intention is to provide a user considerable and clear control over their data. Depending on your jurisdiction, you have certain user rights derived from privacy laws, and we will take reasonable measures to assist you in exercising your rights to the degree it is reasonable to do so.

For example, an individual residing in the European Union has access to various rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), there are the rights to access data, correct data, to request deletion of data, etc., and in addition the rights to limit processing of data, to object to use for certain purposes, or request that one's data be ported in a structured format.

Residents in California have rights derived from the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) respectively, that identified personal information rights for residents in California as: the right to know what personal information is being collected; the right to request deletion; and the right to opt out of sale of personal information.

While WikiLix does not actually sell personal information we still allow California residents the ability to exercise those rights equally.

Residents in Brazil also have certain rights under LGPD, with proper consent and transparency as set out in the PDPA in Singapore. Regardless of where you live WikiLix respects the right to withdraw consent, or request corrections, or restrict usage of information and will outline the contact information should you wish to exercise any of our obligations.

For those we generally meet requests in statutory timeframes. For requests under the GDPR with are usually a one month process. For requests under CCPA, we have 45 days to meet or request an extension.

We ask for verification of identity of the requestor for both of these requests, given we do not wish to inadvertently allow an unauthorized individual to access our information (typically as a result of the nature of the information being shared).

10. Children's Privacy

WikiLix does not knowingly collect redacted from anyone who is not a legal adult. Our service is for adult purposes, including to use financial reviews, investment services, and the like. We do not allow the creation of user accounts, where a child is below age 13, or to provide information on our site based on the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), in the United States.

In the EU based on the GDPR the minimum age of consent of data processing is currently 16, or a lower age, (minimum of 13 years) where a member state has established a lower age. In other words if a child is under the age of 16 the child (along with parent or guardian) cannot use our site without the consent of the child's parent or guardian.

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that your child submitted personal information to WikiLix and you did not consent to it, please contact us promptly.

Upon authentication of the claim, or where the parent provides consent we will take all reasonable steps to remove the child's redacted from our files. We are aware of the responsibility of building a site with appropriate age protections to allow children, safe access to financial content.

11. Data Security

The protection of how user data is potentially to breached is faceted activity with a technology component to protect data at rest and motion, policy enforcement compliance component to secure user and operations usage, such as email.

WikiLix takes your data security very serious, and controls it at both operational and compliance methodologies with regulated layers of protection with industry standard control measures, including the use secure socket layer (SSL) high-grade encryption on all transaction, and in cases, data held on our servers, accessible through SSL, independent of the device from which it is being accessed.

All data we have held on our systems, are surrounded by the most robust tooling of its industry for data protection. We have secured firewalls, intrusion detection controls, access control mechanisms, etc.

Access to any data that includes Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is limited to the employees of contractors, by virtue of their duty to view the data. They are bound to confidentiality because of the very nature of their duty, shall receive initial, and ongoing training on appropriate data use practices, and to limit risk to unauthorized access to data.

Allowing employees access to data in this manner creates layers of administrative control around PII in which the information is encrypted, and controlled by compliance paradigms and operational paradigms, as defined and operationalized by the company.

In the unlikely event, which assumes there will be a breach of data, WikiLix will have a predetermined action in the manner to respond to the data breach. When Public Bodies like GDPR, take data, for a defined risk that the users, should be made aware of in advance.

In the event that there is a personal data breach, the docks above require the company to inform the unauthorized users, and the organizations that have authority over their data if the breach creates a significant risk to the users, reported no later than 72 hours after the risk is determined, or less than 72 hours if the law dictates otherwise.

There are similar obligations in CCPA, LGPD, and was well as the other laws and regulations, to which we are compliant. At the very least everyone strives to limit risk and act quickly and concisely in the event of something going wrong.

12. Responsibilities of Users

Although WikiLix attempts to guard information and personal identifiable information, Users should recognize that while WikiLix is guarding data, they are also co-responsible in regard to guarding privacy.
