The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued a warning that Swift Finance Bank may be providing or promoting financial services or products in the UK without the necessary FCA permission. According to the regulator, the firm is not authorised by the FCA and may be targeting people in the United Kingdom.
The details published by the FCA for the unauthorised firm are: Name: Swift Finance Bank; Address: 16 Church Road, Stanmore, UNITED KINGDOM, HA7 4AW; Email: [email protected]; Website: www.swiftfinanceplc.com. The warning was first published on 22 May 2026.
Lack of FCA authorisation and consumer protections
The FCA states that Swift Finance Bank is not authorised, meaning it does not have permission to offer or promote regulated financial services or products in the UK. As a result, consumers who choose to deal with this firm will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they wish to complain about the service received.
In addition, customers of Swift Finance Bank will not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if things go wrong. The FCA notes that this lack of protection means it is unlikely that consumers would get their money back if the firm were to go out of business.
Regulator guidance for consumers
The FCA advises consumers to only deal with financial firms that are authorised by the regulator. To help verify whether a firm is authorised, the FCA directs consumers to use the FCA Firm Checker. This tool allows users to confirm the authorisation status of firms offering financial services in the UK.
The regulator also warns that some unauthorised firms may provide incorrect or misleading contact details, including postal addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses, and may change these details over time. They may also provide contact information that actually belongs to another business or individual, making the firm appear genuine when it is not.
The FCA’s warning highlights the importance of checking a firm’s regulatory status before engaging with any financial services provider and underscores the risks consumers face when dealing with unauthorised entities such as Swift Finance Bank.
