Axen's own risk notice says VARA and the CMA have granted it no licence. The same paragraph says neither Axen company is operational or accepting clients, and the sign-up page is open today. What the documents say

19 clauses worth knowing about, worst first, each quoted from Axen Broker's own files

01

Axen's risk notice says VARA and the CMA have not granted either Axen company a licence. The same paragraph says neither company is operational or accepting clients. The sign-up page is open to you today.

Why this matters

You would be depositing with a company that says in its own risk notice that it cannot take you yet. No regulator is supervising your money. The fund safety page still calls the application reference LIC-0008119 a licence number.

Exhibit 1CriticalRarely seen0New

AXEN LIFE DMCC holds DMCC trade license number DMCC-933489 and has applied to VARA for a VASP license. VARA has not granted a license and the Company is not yet regulated by VARA.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC must describe their authorisation accurately in every communication with a retail client. Axen's fund safety page calls LIC-0008119 a licence number, and its risk notice calls the same number an application that has not been granted.

Axen Broker is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

Our readingA broker that withdraws its own regulatory claim in one document while repeating it in five others leaves a reader no way to tell which statement is current.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 12No licence has been granted to either UAE company, and the contract does not settle which of the three Axen companies owes you your balance.
02

If Axen decides you used high frequency or arbitrage trading, clause 4.16 switches off your account. You are left with the right to ask for your initial deposit back. Every dollar above it is gone, and the clause says you cannot dispute the decision.

Why this matters

Axen defines neither high frequency trading nor arbitrage anywhere in the document set. The decision is its own, it is final, and your profit is what pays for it.

Exhibit 4CriticalHarder than usual

The client understands that the Algorithmic HFT & Arbitrage is not allowed in the system and upon detection of such activity, the trading account will be disabled and the client will only receive the right to request the withdrawal of his initial deposit without the possibility of dispute.

Our readingClawing back profit from trading a broker calls abusive is common. Removing the right to dispute the finding, in the same sentence, is not.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 5One clause removes profit from trading Axen calls abusive, the other removes profit from trading it decides happened in disturbed markets.
03

File a claim with Axen and clause 7.5 lets it block the operations on your account until the dispute ends. Axen is the party that decides when it ends.

Why this matters

Raising a problem about your money is the event that can cut you off from it. There is no deadline on the block and no one else to ask.

Exhibit 6CriticalRarely seen

The Company reserves the right to block all or part of all operations on the accounts of the Client who filed a claim with the Company, until the dispute is resolved or until the parties reach an interim agreement.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC must run a written complaints procedure and point a client who is still unhappy to an independent scheme. This contract lets Axen block the complaining client's account while it considers the claim.

Axen Broker is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

Our readingA clause that makes the act of complaining the trigger for a freeze turns the complaints procedure into a cost. Most retail agreements keep the two apart.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 7You have five working days to complain, and the complaint itself can freeze the account you are complaining about.
04

Your withdrawals happen by the method and in the manner Axen prescribes. Clause 4.13 lets Axen change that order whenever it decides circumstances require, without agreeing it with you. No document in the set says when a withdrawal has to be paid.

Why this matters

You have no deadline to hold Axen to and no agreed route for your money to come back by. Clause 4.7 also lets Axen stop acting on your instructions until its investigation ends. The contract sets no limit on how long that takes.

Exhibit 10CriticalHarder than usual

The Client agrees and fully accepts that the withdrawal of funds from his Trading account is made by the method and in the manner prescribed by the Company. Where it sits: section 48 of 101 in the Public Offer, 48% of the way through.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC must return retail client money promptly on request and tell the client why a payment is held back. This contract sets no payment deadline at all.

Axen Broker is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 18Axen can hold your instructions while staff suspicion is investigated, and nothing sets a deadline for either the investigation or the payment.
05

Axen's documents name three companies. The public offer says you contract with one of two UAE companies, and its definitions call the site the website of Axen Capital LTD. The terms and conditions say your relationship is solely with AXEN LIFE DMCC. The footer says the brand belongs to Axen Capital Ltd in St Vincent and the Grenadines, regulated by nobody.

In plain words

On a principal basis, as your counterparty, means the broker takes the other side of your trade itself. Your loss is then the firm’s gain, so it has an interest in how your trade ends.

Why this matters

The company that owes you your balance is also the company that decides which name answers your claim. One of the three is an unregulated St Vincent company, and the terms and conditions put the website owner in Michoacán, Mexico.

You get five working days to raise a disputed trade with Axen, counted from when you learned or should have learned about it. Clause 7.4 says a late claim is grounds for refusing to consider it at all.

Why this matters

A pricing problem you notice two weeks later is already barred. Your five working days can run out before you know anything happened.

Exhibit 7CriticalHarder than usual5 working days

What it costsA problem on Monday the 1st has to be raised by Monday the 8th. If you only saw it on the 10th, clause 7.4 lets Axen refuse to look at it.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC have weeks, not days, to handle a retail complaint, and a client who is still unhappy can go to an independent scheme months later. This contract gives you five working days to raise it at all.

Axen Broker is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

Axen's fund safety page sells licences its risk notice says were never granted

Axen's risk notice says VARA and the CMA have granted no licence, and that neither Axen company is operational or accepting clients. Its fund safety page calls the same application reference a licence number. That page also promises segregated bank accounts and promises that no client can owe more than their balance. The public offer carries neither promise.

Claims against contract2 clauses flagged

The fund safety page says no Axen client is liable for a negative balance. The risk warning at the foot of every page says your losses can exceed the amount you deposited. No clause in the public offer gives you negative balance protection, the promise that you can never owe more than the money in your account.

In plain words

Negative balance protection is a limit that stops you owing more than you put in. Without it, one fast market move can leave you owing the broker money on top of your deposit.

Why this matters

If the market gaps and your account falls below zero, the page you read says you owe nothing. The contract does not say that, and clause 6.3 makes you liable for losses Axen suffers through your fault.

Set against a regulated standard: ESMA (EU), FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed under European rules, including the FCA and CySEC, must give retail CFD clients negative balance protection, so a client can never lose more than the money in the account. Axen promises this on its fund safety page and nowhere in its contract.

Axen Broker is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

The fund safety page says your money sits in bank accounts separate from Axen's own, off its balance sheet and out of reach of its creditors. The public offer never says that. Its only separation language is that Axen gives you unique login codes.

Why this matters

If Axen fails, the page you read says your money is safe from its creditors. The contract that governs your account makes no such promise, and no compensation scheme is named in any document.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC must hold retail client money in segregated accounts and reconcile them daily. The only separation Axen's contract promises you is a set of unique access codes.

Axen Broker is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 12The one segregation promise in the contract is made by AXEN LIFE DMCC, which the risk notice says holds no licence and is not operational.

Profit can be cut back to the deposit, and the decision is Axen's

Clause 4.16 of Axen's public offer disables the account of a client whose trading it calls HFT or arbitrage. That client is left with the right to ask for the initial deposit back, and cannot dispute it. Clause 11.2, in paragraph 99 of 101, lets Axen cancel closed trades and write off the gain.

Profit at risk1 clause flagged

Axen can cancel trades you have already closed and write off what you made on them. Clause 11.2 allows this where Axen decides force majeure applied, meaning events it treats as beyond its control. Clause 11.1 leaves that judgment to Axen's own opinion of the market.

Why this matters

A profit sitting in your account is not final. Axen can remove it later by deciding the market was disturbed when you traded, and no document says who reviews that decision.

Axen publishes the size of all its commissions and costs in the Personal Cabinet, which you reach only after you register. Clause 3.7 puts the spreads there too. No page on the public site carries a figure for any fee.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC must disclose costs and charges to a retail client before that client trades. Axen's contract puts every figure inside an account you can only open by registering first.

Axen Broker is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

Axen converts your withdrawal at the market rate for your currency, but no higher than the rate your national bank set on the date of your first payment. Clause 3.6 holds that ceiling for as long as you keep the account.

Why this matters

Your exit rate is pinned to the day you first paid in. If your currency moves after that, the contract does not let the conversion follow it in your favour.

Exhibit 15WarningRarely seen

The Company shall perform withdrawals of Client’s funds on the basis of market rate of national currency of the Client’s payments to the dollar equivalent of the US in relation to officially established by National Bank of the Client’s country for the currency of payment of the Client, but not higher than the official exchange rate of the currency of payment of the Client, set by the National Bank on the date of the first payment.

Our readingA payout rate capped at the rate on the date of the first deposit is a one way ratchet. Retail agreements normally convert at the rate on the day the payment is made.

Terms change on publication, and the portal licence contradicts the country list

Axen amends the public offer alone, and clause 9.1 makes the new version effective the moment it is published. Clause 9.3 gives the client three days to object, and clause 9.2 puts the duty to check the website on the client. The portal licence says it is designed for users domiciled in the United States, which the site's own country list bars.

Changing the rules2 clauses flagged

Axen can amend the public offer on its own, and the new version takes effect the moment it is published. Clause 9.3 applies it to you even though you signed the old one. If you disagree, you have three days from that moment to ask to end the agreement.

Why this matters

Clause 9.2 puts the duty to find out on you: check Axen's website at least once a week. Miss one week and your three days can be gone before you read the change.

Five working days to complain, and complaining can freeze the account

Clause 7.4 of Axen's public offer gives a client five working days to raise a disputed trade, counted from when they should have learned of it. Clause 7.5 then lets Axen block the operations on the account of the client who complained. Five Axen documents set out complaint deadlines and none of them match.

Raising a dispute2 clauses flagged

Five Axen documents describe how to complain, and they do not agree. The public offer gives you five working days to file and gives Axen five working days to answer. The risk notice and the privacy policy promise an answer in 14 business days. The terms and conditions and the complaints page say four weeks, stretching to eight.

Why this matters

You cannot tell which deadline binds you, and the shortest one ends your claim. Three different addresses are given for complaints, and one of them sits on axenlife.com rather than Axen's trading site.

No article of the agreement can be a basis for Axen's civil liability if Axen fails to perform it. That is clause 4.8, written as a double negative, so a court would have to settle what it means. Clause 6.1 adds that your lost profit is never refundable.

Why this matters

If Axen does not do what the contract says, the contract says you have no claim for it. Clause 6.8 pulls some of this back, by preserving obligations Axen is not permitted to exclude. The terms and conditions separately cap Axen's total liability at the fees you paid in the six months before your claim.

The documents this reading is based on

8 files, all published by Axen Broker. Each shows when we read it and a fingerprint of its wording.

WIKILIX keeps the copy of each file it read, and does not republish it: what is published is the fingerprint of its wording. Download the file yourself and hash its text, lowercased with runs of whitespace collapsed, and a matching fingerprint means the wording quoted above is still the wording Axen Broker publishes.

Who the contract is with

Axen Capital Ltd

Axen's documents name three companies. The public offer says you contract with AXEN LIFE DMCC or AXEN TRADING CURRENCIES IN SPOT MARKET LLC, both in the UAE, and its definitions call the site the website of the Company Axen Capital LTD. Section 18 of the terms and conditions says your relationship is solely with AXEN LIFE DMCC. The footer of every page says AXEN BROKER is a trade name of Axen Capital Ltd, registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines, and not authorised or regulated by any financial services authority. The risk notice says the two UAE companies hold no licence yet and are not accepting clients.

Quotations are copied verbatim from the documents named above, with the clause number and the page each one came from. Where a clause is quoted in another language, the original is shown first and the English is a translation.

The plain-language parts, what a clause means for a client, how ordinary it is, and how it reads against a regulated standard, are WIKILIX's analysis and are labelled as such on every card. This is a reading of public documents, not legal advice and not an allegation of wrongdoing.

In fairness, and what we could not check

A reader who knows the edges of the work can trust the middle of it

The risk notice is clear about the licence position. It says VARA and the CMA have not granted the licences, and that services will not start until they do. The footer of every page says in Spanish that Axen Capital Ltd is not authorised or regulated by any financial services authority, and it names the St Vincent registered office. All eight legal documents are plain web pages, free to read, with nothing to download. The complaints page names a route to VARA and says no fee is charged for making a complaint. No document in the set charges an inactivity fee, and none makes you liable for another person's account.

Every legal document Axen publishes is in English, while the site and all of its marketing are in Spanish. There is no Spanish version of the contract to set against the Spanish sales pages. The end user licence agreement and the complaints procedure come from Axen's own pages. Older copies exist only for the AML policy and the risk notice. The public offer, the terms and conditions, the privacy policy and the KYC policy have no earlier version. The fee schedule that clause 3.1 keeps in the Personal Cabinet needs an account, so it is not covered. We saw only the first step of the sign-up form.

How to check any of this yourself

Every quote above links to the Axen Broker file it came from. This is what to do with it.

Open the three stepsFind the words in the source, work out the fingerprint, and read what a difference does and does not prove.

Open the source and search for the words

Every quote has a link under it. Open the file, or the web page, and search it for the words we quote. The clause number next to the quote tells you where to look.

If the words are not there any more, the source may have changed after we read it. That is worth knowing too. We keep the date we read it, and a code worked out from its wording, so the quote stays checkable.

What a fingerprint is

A fingerprint is a code worked out from what a source says. Change one word and the code changes completely. We keep two codes for every file we read, and the panel on each source shows both.

The first is the code of the exact file we downloaded. The second is the code of its wording alone, with capital letters lowered and runs of spaces collapsed. When the same words are saved as a new file, the first code changes and the second one stays the same.

Only the first code can be worked out on your own computer. Save the file, then run one of these, putting the name of the file you saved where the example is. The panel on each source prints the command with that source's real file name already in it.

macOS or Linux:
  shasum -a 256 the-file-you-saved.pdf

Windows:
  certutil -hashfile the-file-you-saved.pdf SHA256

The two codes are different from each other, and they are not meant to match. Comparing one against the other proves nothing.

What a difference means, and what it does not

A different file code on its own proves nothing. A PDF saved again with a new date inside it is a new file saying exactly the same thing.

A different wording code means the words themselves changed. That is the one that matters, and it is why we keep it.

Even then, a change is not proof of bad faith. Companies update their documents. What this report says is what the document said on the day we read it, and every quote carries that date.

A source that is a web page and not a file has no file to save, so only the code of its wording is shown.

How this report is made

Every clause quoted above comes from a document Axen Broker publishes on its own website, downloaded and hashed on the date shown, with the clause number and page recorded so any reader can check it. We do not allege anything the documents do not say, and we do not judge Axen Broker on anything other than its own published terms and its own public marketing. Where a clause has a qualifier that softens it, the report says so. Last read Oct 9, 2026.

If you represent Axen Broker and a clause has changed, been withdrawn, or is being read out of context, tell us and we will re-read the documents and update this page. Corrections from the broker are welcome and are published with the reading they change. Contact us.

This is a reading of a contract, not legal advice and not a ruling on Axen Broker. Whether its licence is real and current is a separate check on the broker profile.
