The short version
Eight things worth knowing before you read the rest. Each one links to the clause that governs it.
- § 03
Information, not investment advice
We publish research about brokers and prop firms. We are not a broker or an adviser, and nothing here tells you what to do with your money.
- § 04
Check a record before you rely on it
Scores and records show what we found at a point in time. Confirm a broker’s licence with its regulator before you deposit.
- § 05
Ads are labelled, and scores are not for sale
Paid placements are marked as ads and can come first in sponsored spots. Nobody can pay to change a score or a verdict.
- § 07
Honest comments only
Write about your own experience, say if you are connected to the company, and expect a person to read your comment before it appears.
- § 08
Report content or ask for a correction
Tell us about anything unlawful, untrue or unfair. A person reviews it, tells you what we decided and why, and you can ask for a second look.
- § 09
Quote us with a link; don’t copy the database
Share, cite and link to Wikilix freely. Copying our records in bulk to publish or sell them needs our written permission.
- § 10
Your deal with a broker is with the broker
When you follow a link and open an account, the contract, the money and any complaint are between you and that company.
- § 12
Your legal rights stay yours
We limit our liability where the law allows it, but nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer.
This summary helps you find your way around the terms. It does not replace them: if the two ever differ, the full clause applies.
These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and Wikilix for using wikilix.com. They apply whether you are reading a page, creating an account or posting a comment.
Each clause opens with a line marked In short: our summary of it in plain words. The text beneath it is the clause itself, and where the two differ, the clause applies.
About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Wikilix. By using the site you accept them; if you do not accept them, please do not use Wikilix.
Wikilix (“Wikilix”, “we”, “us”) runs wikilix.com: a public record of forex and CFD brokers, proprietary trading (“prop”) firms, financial regulators and the licences they issue, with the news, education and tools built on that record (together, the “Service”).
These Terms of Use (the “terms”) apply to everyone who uses the Service: people who read it, people who create an account and people who post comments or other content. By using the Service you agree to them, and if you create an account, you accept them when you do. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Two other documents sit alongside these terms:
- our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data; and
- our Editorial Policy, which explains how we research, rate, correct and publish. It describes how we work; it does not add obligations for you.
Brokers and other businesses that use our partner panel or other business services may be asked to accept additional terms for those services. Where they do, those terms apply to that service alongside these.
Who may use Wikilix
Anyone may read Wikilix. To create an account or post, you must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms.
The Service is written for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, and able to enter into a binding agreement where you live, to create an account or to post content.
If you use the Service for a company or other organization — for example as an employee of a broker — you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf, and “you” includes that organization.
You must not use the Service where doing so is against the law that applies to you.
Information, not investment advice
Wikilix publishes information and opinion. We are not a broker, an investment adviser or a regulator, and nothing on Wikilix is a recommendation to trade or invest.
Wikilix is an information service. We are not a broker, a bank, an investment firm or an investment adviser. We do not hold client money, execute trades, or give financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and no financial authority has authorized or regulates us to do so. We do not issue, grant or confirm licences or authorizations: only a regulator can.
Scores, verdicts, rankings, status labels (such as “regulated”, “offshore”, “unregulated” or “suspicious clone”), reports and articles are our assessment of the information available to us when we published them. They are general information published for everyone, not a personal recommendation: they do not take your circumstances into account, and they are not a recommendation to open an account with, deposit with or avoid any company.
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs and other leveraged products work, and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Before you open an account or deposit money, confirm the facts that matter to you directly with the company, its legal entity and the regulator that licenses it, and consider taking advice from someone authorized to give it.
How our ratings and records work
Our scores and records show what we found, when we found it. They can be incomplete or out of date, so check anything important with its source.
We build records of brokers, prop firms, regulators and licences from sources that include regulators’ public registers, companies’ own websites and documents, dated captures of those websites, measurements we take ourselves (such as spreads observed on live trading accounts) and data from third-party providers. Scores are calculated from those records using the methods described on the pages concerned and in our Editorial Policy.
Parts of the Service are researched, drafted or produced with automated tools, including AI models. Some of that work is reviewed by a person before it is published and some is not. We remain responsible for everything we publish either way.
We work to keep the record accurate and current, and the dates on a page tell you when something was last checked or changed. But registers change, companies change what they say, sources can be wrong and we make mistakes. A regulator’s own register is the authority on whether a firm is licensed today. A record is a snapshot, not a guarantee: a licence shown as verified may since have been withdrawn, and a company we have not flagged is not, for that reason, safe.
Outside sponsored areas (see § 05), the order of a list does not depend on whether a company pays us.
If you think something we published is wrong, tell us — see § 08. We correct errors we confirm, and a company we write about can ask us to correct facts about it.
Advertising and independence
Some placements are paid for, and they are labelled as ads. Payment can buy a place in a sponsored spot, never a better score or verdict.
Wikilix is free to use. It is paid for in part by commercial relationships with companies, including brokers and prop firms we write about:
- Sponsored placements. Companies can pay to appear in sponsored areas of the site. Those placements are labelled as advertising (for example “Ads” or “Paid placement”), and in a sponsored area, paid placements may be shown first.
- Links to other websites. Links to brokers and other companies carry tracking parameters, so the company can see the visit came from Wikilix. Some may be affiliate or referral links: we may earn a commission or fee if you open an account or buy something after following one.
- Business services. Companies can subscribe to business services, such as our partner panel, through which a company can publish an official reply to comments about it. Replies are labelled as the company’s response and are reviewed by us before they appear.
What payment cannot buy: a change to a company’s score, verdict or labels; a better place in a list ordered by score; the removal or editing of a comment or report about the company; or any say over what we publish. Nor does anyone need to pay us to have an error corrected: asking for a correction is free (see § 08). Scores are calculated from the record and do not take into account whether a company pays us. Our Editorial Policy explains how commercial relationships are kept apart from editorial decisions.
Your account
Keep your login to yourself, keep your details accurate, and tell us if someone else gets in. You can ask us to close your account at any time.
You can create an account with an email address and password, or with Google sign-in. An account lets you post comments and replies. Please:
- give accurate details, and a name that does not impersonate anyone or mislead;
- keep your password secure and do not share your account;
- hold only one account, unless we agree otherwise; and
- tell us straight away at support@wikilix.com if you think someone else has used it.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, except where it results from our failure to keep the Service secure.
The name on your account is shown publicly with anything you post. You can ask us to close your account at any time by writing to support@wikilix.com. Closing it does not automatically remove what you have posted; if you want that removed too, say so. Our Privacy Policy explains your rights over your personal data.
Comments and other content you post
Post only what is honest and your own, say if you are connected to the company, and expect a person to read it before it appears. You keep ownership; we get permission to publish it.
With an account you can post comments, reviews, replies and images on pages about brokers, prop firms, news, articles and lessons (“your content”). On prop-firm pages, the star rating and recommendation you give count towards that firm’s Wikilix rating. Comments on broker pages do not change a broker’s Wikilix score.
What you must not post
Your content must be honest and your own. Do not post anything that:
- is not based on your own genuine experience, or pretends to be someone else’s — including a review written, paid for or requested by a company or by its competitor;
- hides a connection to the company you are writing about: if you work for it or a competitor, are paid by it, or have any other business tie to it, say so in the post;
- was paid for or rewarded: do not offer, ask for or accept money, a discount or anything else in return for posting, changing or removing a comment, or for making it positive or negative;
- states as fact something you know or suspect to be untrue, or is defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening or abusive;
- contains personal data — anyone’s contact details, account numbers or identity documents, including your own;
- infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights, including images you did not create or have no right to share;
- promotes a product or service, solicits investment, offers trading signals or account management, or includes referral or affiliate links;
- is spam, is posted by automated means, or tries to manipulate a rating — for example several posts about one company from connected accounts; or
- is otherwise unlawful, or encourages anyone to break the law.
If you work for, or act for, a company we list, do not post about it or its competitors as an ordinary user. The company can respond as described below.
How your content is published
A person on our team reads every comment and reply before it appears, and we may decline to publish it. We apply the same rules to every comment, whatever it says about a company: we never decline, hide or remove a comment because it is critical, and a critical comment is not held to a higher standard than a favourable one. We do not verify that someone who posts about a company is, or was, its customer. Published content shows the name on your account and the date.
Only published reviews count towards a prop firm’s rating. We never write comments or reviews ourselves and present them as a user’s.
We may later hide or remove content that breaks these terms or the law. We may make limited edits — to remove personal data, links or abusive language, or to correct its category or language — but we never edit your content to change what it says about a company.
A company you write about can reply to your comment through our partner panel. Its reply is labelled as the company’s official response and is reviewed by us before it appears. Companies cannot edit or remove your content, and must not threaten, pressure or pay anyone to post, change or remove a comment; if one does, tell us. Our team may also reply, as “Wikilix Team”.
You cannot edit or delete a comment yourself once it is posted. To have one changed or removed, write to support@wikilix.com.
The permission you give us
You keep ownership of your content. By posting it, you give Wikilix a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, publish, display, moderate, translate and adapt it for format (for example to fit a phone screen), and to distribute it as part of the Service — including when a page of the Service is shared or quoted — for as long as it is published, and for a reasonable period afterwards in backups and archives. Our service providers may use this licence on our behalf. You confirm that you have the right to give this permission and that your content complies with these terms.
Your content is your responsibility. It is your view, not ours, and publishing it is not an endorsement.
Moderation, reports and complaints
If something on Wikilix looks unlawful, untrue or unfair, tell us. A person reviews it, tells you what we decided and why, and you can ask us to look again.
How we moderate
We moderate content under these terms and the law. People on our team review every comment and reply before it is published, and review every report and complaint. We use automated tools to keep out spam and automated sign-ups (such as Google reCAPTCHA), but decisions to publish, hide, edit or remove content, or to restrict an account, are made by people.
Depending on how serious a problem is, we may: decline to publish content; hide or remove it; make a limited edit as described in § 07; hide an image; suspend or close an account; and, where the law requires it, report content to the authorities. If content suggests a threat to someone’s life or safety, we will tell the relevant authorities.
Reporting content
Anyone can report content on Wikilix they believe is unlawful or breaks these terms, including our own reports and records. Use the contact form or write to info@wikilix.com, and include:
- the address (URL) of the page, and which content you mean;
- why you believe it is unlawful or breaks these terms;
- your name and email address (not needed if you are reporting child sexual abuse material); and
- a statement that you believe, in good faith, that your report is accurate and complete.
We will confirm we have your report, review it carefully and without undue delay, and tell you what we decided and how to contest it. You can report a comment you believe is fake, paid for or posted by someone connected to the company in the same way. If you report an intimate image of someone that was shared without their consent, we will remove it within 48 hours.
Corrections and the right of reply
If you are a company we write about, or represent one, and believe a fact we published about you is wrong, send us the page, the fact and your evidence. We correct errors we confirm, and say so where the correction matters. Disagreeing with a score or a verdict is not in itself an error, but we will read your evidence. Asking for a correction is free and never requires a commercial relationship with us.
When we act on your content, and how to contest it
If we decline, hide or remove your content, or restrict your account, we will tell you why — what we did, the facts we relied on, which rule or law it was based on, and whether automated means were involved — unless the content is spam or the law prevents us. You can ask us to review a decision within six months by replying to our message or writing to info@wikilix.com. A person will look at it again and tell you the outcome. If you are in the European Union, you may also be able to refer the dispute to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body, and you can always go to court.
Repeated misuse
If an account frequently posts content that is plainly unlawful, we will suspend it for a reasonable period after a warning. If someone frequently sends reports that are plainly unfounded, we may, after a warning, stop handling their reports for a reasonable period.
Using our content and data
Read, share, quote and link to Wikilix freely. Copying our records in bulk, or passing our work off as yours, needs our written permission.
The Service — its text, scores, records, reports, data, design and software, and the Wikilix name and logo — belongs to Wikilix or to those who license it to us, and is protected by copyright, database and trademark law. Other companies’ names and logos belong to them; we use them only to identify the companies we write about.
What you may do
- read, save and print pages for your own, non-commercial use;
- share links to any page; and
- quote reasonable extracts — a score, a verdict, a paragraph — if you name Wikilix as the source, link to the page and do not change the meaning. If you quote a score or verdict about a company, give the date it was shown on Wikilix.
Search engines and AI answer engines are welcome: crawlers that identify themselves and follow our robots.txt may crawl, index and quote the Service.
What needs our written permission
- copying, extracting or re-using a substantial part of our records or data — for example broker scores, licence records or spread data — whether all at once or bit by bit, to publish or sell it, or to build a product or dataset that competes with Wikilix;
- framing the Service, or presenting our content as yours or as if we endorse you;
- using the Wikilix name or logo, other than to refer to us accurately; and
- any other commercial use of our content beyond quoting it as described above.
What you must not do
- get around our technical limits or security, including
robots.txtrules, rate limits and reCAPTCHA; - overload, disrupt, probe or attack the Service, or introduce malicious code;
- create accounts or post content by automated means; or
- use the Service to commit fraud or to misrepresent a company’s record — for example by altering a screenshot of a Wikilix page.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something on Wikilix infringes your copyright, write to info@wikilix.com with: the work concerned; where it appears on Wikilix; your contact details; and a statement that you own the rights or are authorized to act for the owner, and believe in good faith that the use is not authorized. We handle it as a report under § 08.
Brokers and other websites
When you leave Wikilix for a broker or any other site, that site’s own terms apply. Any account you open, and any money you deposit, is between you and that company.
The Service links to websites we do not control, including those of brokers, prop firms and regulators. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for another website’s content, availability, security or handling of your data.
If you open an account with, buy from or deposit money with a company you found on Wikilix, your agreement is with that company. We are not a party to it, we never handle your money, and we cannot settle disputes between you and the company or recover funds for you. If you have a complaint about a regulated company, its regulator or financial ombudsman may be able to help.
Screenshots and captures of other websites that we publish show what a page said when we captured it, as a record. The pages themselves belong to their owners.
Disclaimers
We take care over what we publish, but we provide Wikilix as it is and cannot promise it will always be complete, current or available.
We provide the Service free of charge, as information. We take reasonable care over it but, to the extent the law allows, we provide it “as is” and “as available”, and we do not promise that:
- the information on it is complete, accurate or up to date — a company’s status can change after we publish;
- it will meet your needs or suit any decision you make; or
- it will be available without interruption, or free of errors, viruses or other harmful components.
We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the Service — for example to fix, improve or retire a feature. Where a change will significantly affect people with accounts, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
Nothing in this clause affects rights you have by law that cannot be excluded, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Our liability to you
We are not responsible for your trading losses or for what brokers do. If we break these terms or are careless, we are responsible for the foreseeable loss that causes you, and nothing limits our liability for fraud or for injury caused by negligence.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Subject to that:
- we are not responsible for losses arising from trading or investment decisions you make — including losses on a trading account, or money you cannot withdraw from a broker, prop firm or other company — even where you made the decision using information on Wikilix;
- we are not responsible for the acts, omissions, products or websites of brokers, prop firms, regulators or other third parties, or for content posted by other users;
- if you use the Service as a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill, but not for loss that was not foreseeable. We provide the Service for domestic and private use, so we are not responsible for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity; and
- if you use the Service for business purposes, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, and our total liability to you for all claims is limited to one hundred euros (€100).
If you use the Service in the course of a business — for example for a broker — you will compensate us for any claim a third party brings against us that arises from your content or your breach of these terms.
Suspension and closure
You can stop using Wikilix whenever you like. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why.
You can stop using the Service at any time, and ask us to close your account as described in § 06.
We may suspend or close your account, or restrict what you can do (for example, stop publishing your content), if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law or an authority requires it, or if your account has been used for fraud or to harm others. Where we can, we will warn you first. Our response will be proportionate to the problem.
We will tell you the reasons for our decision and how to contest it, as described in § 08, unless the law prevents us. If your account is closed, these terms continue to apply to anything that happened before, and the clauses that by their nature should survive — including the licence you gave us in § 07 and § 09, § 11, § 12 and § 15 — continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, the new version and its date go on this page and in the revision record. For changes that matter, account holders hear from us first.
We may update these terms — for example to reflect a new feature, a change in the law or a change in how the Service works. Every version is published on this page with its version number and the date it takes effect, and listed in the revision record. We keep earlier versions and will send you any of them on request.
If a change is material — if it reduces your rights or adds to your obligations — we will publish it at least 30 days before it takes effect and, if you have an account, tell you by email. We may make a change sooner where the law requires it, or to deal with a security risk or misuse; we will still tell you as soon as we reasonably can.
If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using the Service and close your account before it takes effect. If you continue to use the Service after a change takes effect, the new version applies to you from then on. A change never applies to a dispute that arose before it took effect.
Governing law and disputes
If something goes wrong, contact us first. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the law where you live, and you can use your local courts.
If you have a problem with the Service, please contact us first at info@wikilix.com. We will try to resolve it quickly and informally.
If you use the Service as a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings about these terms or the Service in the courts of that country.
If you are in the European Union and your complaint is about a moderation decision we took, you may also be able to refer it to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body, as described in § 08.
General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement, the “In short” lines are guides rather than terms, and if one part fails, the rest still stands.
- Whole agreement. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service, and replace any earlier terms about it.
- Summaries. The “In short” lines, the short version and the headings are there to help you read these terms. They do not change what the clauses say.
- If part of these terms is invalid. If a court or authority decides that any part of these terms is unlawful or unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we do not insist straight away that you do something, or delay taking action, we can still do so later.
- Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to an organization that takes over the Service; this will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.
- Nobody else can enforce these terms. These terms are between you and us, and no other person has any right to enforce them.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- Language. These terms are written in English. If we publish a translation and the two differ, the English version applies to business users; if you are a consumer, you may rely on whichever version is more favourable to you.

Every version, on the record
Each version of these terms is recorded here with the date it took effect and what changed, so you can always see which rules applied when.
| Version | In force from | What changed |
