BCR's pricing page tells you all trading strategies are allowed, and its home page courts scalpers, copy traders and robots. Its PDS lists 49 kinds of prohibited conduct, among them pending orders placed just before news, trading weekend gaps and some robot trading.
Why this matters
Some of the 49 are genuine abuse, such as insider trading, but others describe ordinary retail strategies. If BCR suspects one on reasonable grounds, it can void the profit and hold your account.
Exhibit 1Every flagged clause gets its own number so you can point at this one. The number does not change, so a link to it keeps working.CriticalHow much this clause can cost you, in our reading. Critical can take your money or your profit. Warning can delay or limit it. Notice is simply worth knowing before you sign.Harder than usualHow ordinary this wording looks next to the contracts we read. This is our reading of the clause, not a count of other brokers.49The figure this clause puts a number on, taken from the broker's own words.NewThis wording was not in the version we read last time. It was added or changed since then.
Targeting price gaps caused by weekend closures, market holidays, or trading halts in the underlying market.
- Worse together with Exhibit 2Read these two clauses together. Each one costs more because the other exists. The list decides what counts as prohibited, and the powers in the same section let BCR void the profit and hold the account, so an advertised strategy can end in a freeze.
