Verification note

The ASIC register lists the licence under BACERA CO PTY LTD (Australian financial services licence). The ASIC record lists the principal website https://au.thebcr.com/, the same domain as the broker's main website, https://au.thebcr.com. The record's licence number, 328794, also matches this licence's AFSL, 000328794, without its leading zeros. Its ACN 130 877 137 matches registration number 130877137 of the broker's company BACERA CO PTY LTD (Australia). The register records the licence as effective from 19 December 2008.

About this ASIC licence

What this authorisation is, what it establishes, and what it leaves open.

The holder of Australian financial services licence 328794 is BACERA CO PTY LTD, a company the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) records with the business name BCR. On 21 October 2026, the record showed the status CURRENT and a commencement date of 19 December 2008.

ASIC is Australia's financial services and markets regulator, and its professional register lists the firms it licenses. The conditions dated 13 January 2020 authorise this licensee to give general financial product advice on derivatives, foreign exchange contracts and securities limited to equity linked notes, to deal in those products, including on behalf of another person, and to make a market in foreign exchange contracts and derivatives, for retail and wholesale clients.

An entry shows that ASIC granted the licence and on what conditions. It is not a finding on the firm's solvency or conduct, and ASIC's search page states that it cannot guarantee the quality of a licensee's services. The authorisation attaches to BACERA CO PTY LTD as licensee; it does not by itself extend to other companies or websites using the BCR name.

The record gives a principal place of business in Sydney, NSW, ABN 87 130 877 137, ACN 130 877 137 and the principal website au.thebcr.com. It listed the business names BCR, from 1 December 2017, and B- TRADE CO., from 23 April 2010, and condition versions dated from 19 December 2008 to 13 January 2020. It shows no expiry or end date and no telephone number.

To check it directly, search licence number 328794 or ACN 130 877 137 in the ASIC Professional Registers Search and open the record on the Australian financial services licensees register. A status other than CURRENT, a cancellation or suspension, new conditions or a change in the licensee's name would mean the licence has changed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about this licence

Answered from this register entry and the authority’s own record.

Most Popular Questions

BCR's Australian company holds retail client money in segregated trust accounts with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac and ANZ, pooled with other clients' money rather than in individual accounts, and its Product Disclosure Statement says BCR alone keeps any interest earned on it. For wholesale clients, including BCR Pro clients, the PDS lets BCR use their trust money to meet its obligations in margining and settling derivatives, including dealings for other clients, although the BCR Pro page says wholesale funds are segregated with the same protections as retail clients. Clients of BCR Co Pty Ltd, the British Virgin Islands company, do not have Australia's client money protection.

Yes, in the circumstances its Product Disclosure Statement sets out. Section 2.17 lists prohibited trading practices, among them latency arbitrage, stale-price and millisecond scalping, placing or layering orders just before scheduled news, and using expert advisors, signal services or copy trading mainly to extract value from BCR's pricing; on reasonable suspicion BCR may, without prior notice, void the trades, withhold or claw back profits and freeze the account and its funds for an investigation of up to 30 business days or longer. BCR's pricing page, by contrast, lists all trading strategies as allowed on the Advantage account, and its home page says the broker suits scalpers, copy traders and robots. The PDS says such decisions can be disputed through BCR's complaints process or AFCA, and the Terms and Conditions separately let BCR withhold a withdrawal while the account shows unrealised losses.

Yes. BCR's Financial Services Guide (BCR-FSG-20260701) charges AUD 20.00 a month once an account has had no trading activity for six months or more, counted from the later of the last trade or the account opening. Opening or closing a position, or keeping one open, counts as trading activity, and the guide says the fee is subject to the negative balance protection BCR offers under its Product Disclosure Statement.

Clients of BCR's Australian company can complain to its Compliance Department by phone on +61 2 8459 8050 (02 8459 8050 within Australia, or through the National Relay Service on 133 677), by email to compliance@au.thebcr.com or in writing to Suite 3, Level 18, 201 Elizabeth Street, Sydney NSW 2000, and its client terms also accept written complaints at info@au.thebcr.com. BCR's Public Complaints Policy promises an acknowledgement within one business day and a written response within 30 calendar days, and Bacera Co Pty Ltd is a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), membership number 13333. The Product Disclosure Statement treats a trade statement as accepted unless the client objects in writing within two business days. Clients of BCR Co Pty Ltd, the British Virgin Islands company, have no access to AFCA, and its website publishes a separate complaints handling process.

Clients outside Australia are served under the BCR brand by BCR Co Pty Ltd, a British Virgin Islands company, through thebcr.com and cfds.thebcr.com, while BCR's Australian company aims its service at Australian residents. Bacera Co Pty Ltd says its licence and Australian regulation apply only to services provided to Australian residents, its Product Disclosure Statement is not directed at residents of other countries, and it does not accept applications from US citizens. The BVI company's website says its services are not intended for residents of the United States and Canada, and that company is supervised offshore by the BVI Financial Services Commission: its clients do not have ASIC's client money rules, its retail leverage limits or access to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).

BCR's account, pricing and spreads pages describe no swap-free or Islamic account: its two accounts, Advantage and Alpha, are charged swaps on positions held overnight, with a three-day swap on Wednesdays or Fridays. Its Financial Services Guide (BCR-FSG-20260701) does, however, describe swap-free accounts that pay no swaps or interest on overnight positions and are charged an administrative fee from the account balance instead, without giving that fee in its fee table.

BCR Pro is BCR's service for wholesale clients: it requires net assets of at least A$2.5 million or gross income of at least A$250,000 in each of the last two financial years, certified by an accountant, or a pass in BCR's sophisticated investor test. It offers leverage of up to 1:400, set by account equity and margin in use, and volume-based rebates, but its clients receive no Product Disclosure Statement or Financial Services Guide, AFCA may exclude their complaints, and only a single negative balance protection of up to AUD 10,000 may apply. A credit bonus for wholesale clients, offered from 1 October to 31 December 2026, pays 15% on an initial deposit of $3,000 to $50,000, up to $7,500, and can only be withdrawn once the client has closed round lots equal to 20% of the bonus amount, 1,500 lots for a $7,500 bonus, within 90 days; otherwise it is forfeited.

BCR offers CFDs on forex, metals, commodities, indices and shares, with share CFDs on US and Hong Kong stocks. Its home page advertises more than 300 products across these markets.

BCR's funding page shows a fee of $0 for every method and says clients will not be charged extra fees, but its Financial Services Guide (BCR-FSG-20260701) lists withdrawal fees of AUD 5 on transfers within Australia under AUD 100, nothing at AUD 100 or more, and USD 20 on international transfers, to which the receiving bank may add its own charge. The Terms and Conditions also let BCR deduct bank transfer charges it incurs when paying a client (clause 15.2) and reserve a card administration fee (clause 15.5.2), and the Product Disclosure Statement says wire and credit card transactions may incur fees. Currency conversions can be priced up to 0.5% away from BCR's quoted rates (clause 22.4).

Withdrawals are requested in the MyBCR client portal, and BCR processes requests submitted before its cut-off, given as 'GMT: 00:00 - 06:00', on the same day and later requests on the following business day; that is BCR's processing time, and it publishes no time for the money to reach you. Its funding page lists nine withdrawal methods: bank transfer, Mastercard, Direct Debit, Visa, UnionPay, FastPay, Help2Pay, BPay and Skrill. The Terms and Conditions let BCR withhold a payment while the account shows unrealised losses (clause 15.1), and the Financial Services Guide charges AUD 5 on transfers within Australia under AUD 100 and USD 20 on international transfers, although the funding page shows no fee. BCR's pages also differ on where the money goes: one line says every withdrawal must go to a bank account in the client's name, while its withdrawal priority rule returns funds to the original deposit method first.

On the Alpha account, BCR charges 6 AUD per round-turn lot on forex and metal CFDs on top of raw spreads from 0.0 pips. Advantage has no commission on forex, metal and index CFDs; its account page quotes spreads from 1.2 pips, while the lowest forex spread in BCR's pricing table for that account is 1.6 pips on EUR/USD. The pricing table also charges 2 USD per lot per side on share CFDs on both accounts and 6 AUD on commodity CFDs on Advantage, although the Product Disclosure Statement says share CFD trades typically carry a $20 commission whatever the account.

BCR offers two accounts, Advantage and Alpha, both with a 300 AUD minimum deposit and leverage of up to 30:1. Advantage is a spread-only account with no commission on forex, metal and index CFDs, while Alpha combines raw spreads from 0.0 pips with a commission of 3 AUD (or 3 USD) per lot per side, 6 AUD per round turn, on forex and metals. Clients who qualify as wholesale clients can apply for BCR Pro, which offers higher leverage.

In Australia, BCR is a registered business name of Bacera Co Pty Ltd, Australian Company Number 130 877 137, which the ASIC company register shows as incorporated on 1 May 2008. Its registered address is Level 1, 6-10 O'Connell Street, Sydney NSW 2000, and BCR gives its business address as Suite 3, Level 18, 201 Elizabeth Street, Sydney NSW 2000. Outside Australia the brand is run by BCR Co Pty Ltd, which its website, thebcr.com, describes as a British Virgin Islands company, number 1975046, with its registered office at Trident Chambers, Wickham's Cay 1, Road Town, Tortola.

BCR's support team is available 24/5 by phone on +61 2 8459 8050, by email at info@au.thebcr.com and by live chat on its website. BCR says it answers emails within 24 hours, and its live chat greets visitors in English and Chinese. Marketing and partnership questions go to marketing@au.thebcr.com, and compliance matters and complaints to compliance@au.thebcr.com.

Yes. BCR's funding page lists Skrill, Neteller and PayPal among its 13 deposit methods, each shown as instant with a fee of $0. Only Skrill is listed among the methods for withdrawals. BCR's pages also differ on where withdrawn money goes: one line says it must go to a bank account in the client's own name, while the withdrawal priority rule returns funds to the original deposit method and pays profits to that bank account.

For retail clients of BCR's Australian company, leverage on the Advantage and Alpha accounts is capped at 30:1 on major currency pairs, and BCR's Product Disclosure Statement sets lower caps under ASIC's rules on other markets: 20:1 for minor pairs, gold and major indices, 10:1 for other commodities and minor indices, 5:1 for shares and 2:1 for crypto-assets. BCR's margin page, however, gives US shares a fixed 10% margin, or 10:1. Wholesale clients who qualify for BCR Pro get leverage set by account equity, from 1:400 below $50,000 down to 1:10 above $1,000,000, and a notice on BCR's site limits new positions opened in the last two hours before the Friday close to 1:50 on gold and 1:10 on crude oil, Brent and WTI. BCR Co Pty Ltd, the British Virgin Islands company that serves clients outside Australia, offers leverage of up to 500:1.

The minimum deposit is 300 AUD, the same on both of BCR's accounts, Advantage and Alpha. Credit card funding is limited to $1,000 for the first deposit and $5,000 a month overall, although BCR says exceptions may apply. Its Product Disclosure Statement also asks clients to keep a balance of at least $100 if they do not wish to close the account.

BCR offers its own customised versions of MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, with downloads for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. MetaTrader 5 can also be used in a web browser through BCR's WebTrader, which opens MT5 only. Both platforms support Expert Advisors for automated trading.

Yes. BCR's Australian operator, Bacera Co Pty Ltd, holds Australian Financial Services Licence 328794 from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), effective since 19 December 2008. ASIC's register listed it as current on 21 October 2026. It covers general advice on, dealing in and making a market in derivatives and foreign exchange contracts for retail and wholesale clients. BCR says this licence applies only to services provided to Australian residents. Outside Australia the brand is run by BCR Co Pty Ltd. On 21 October 2026, the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission's register listed it as currently regulated for dealing as agent, dealing as principal and arranging deals in investments. That register entry shows no licence number, and BCR's global website gives it as SIBA/L/19/1122.

Licence 328794 was issued by Australia Securities & Investment Commission (ASIC), the financial authority for Australia.
BCR holds this ASIC licence. A licence on record means the authority published an entry; it is not an endorsement.
We located this entry on the ASIC register. Note that confirming a register ENTRY is not the same as confirming a live licence — the register’s own wording on this page is what states its current standing.
The ASIC register prints it under BACERA CO PTY LTD, not BCR. Licences are often held by a subsidiary rather than the trading brand, which is why searching a register for the brand alone can return nothing.
Wikilix rates ASIC tier 1 — the strictest band, with high capital requirements, segregated client money and a compensation scheme.
This page links straight to the ASIC register. Search it for 328794, and for the name BACERA CO PTY LTD rather than the trading brand.
