CFI's Cyprus company can cancel profits from trades it calls abusive and keep profit that came from its own errors. You get two working days to challenge a trade. Its crypto terms let it pass its own hacking losses on to you. Card and Skrill deposits cost 4%, and the 'no hidden fees' page leaves out a $100 yearly inactivity fee.

What the documents say

19 clauses worth knowing about, worst first, each quoted from CFI's own files

01

CFI can cancel profits on trades it decides were abusive. The execution policy calls scalping, opening and closing orders for an arbitrarily short period, abusive, and lets CFI return only your deposits.

Why this matters

A run of quick, profitable trades can end with the profit gone and only your deposit returned. No clause says how short is too short, and the same policy also says CFI allows scalping.

02

You have two working days to ask CFI to audit a trade, and after that its dealing desk can decline your complaint. A daily statement you do not dispute within 24 hours counts as confirmed by you.

Why this matters

Miss the window and CFI can refuse to look at the trade at all. CFI also says you have no right to request the platform journal, the record that would show what happened.

Exhibit 2CriticalHarder than usual2 working days

The Client is eligible to request an auditing process and or request a clarification for his auditing trades within a maximum of 2 working days. If the said time frame is exceeded the dealing or brokerage department are entitled to decline the client complaint or not to proceed accordingly.
Clause 6.4 in Terms and Conditions, p.21
Read from the broker's site on Open the reference
Set against a regulated standard: CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by CySEC must handle complaints under a written procedure and point retail clients to the Financial Ombudsman. CFI's complaint procedure does that, but its client agreement lets the dealing desk turn away a trade query after two working days.

CFI is not licensed by this regulator, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

03

If hackers, malware or glitches hit CFI's crypto hedges at its liquidity providers, its risk disclosure says CFI will pass those losses on to you. The same section lets CFI switch crypto CFDs to Closing Only without a reason, citing the risk limits of a different firm, ADSS.

In plain words

Negative balance protection is a limit that stops you owing more than you put in. Without it, one fast market move can leave you owing the broker money on top of your deposit.

Liquidity providers are outside banks and brokers.

Why this matters

Your balance can shrink because of a problem between CFI and its own counterparties, not because of any trade you made. Negative balance protection, which stops a retail account going into debt, still caps the damage at your balance.

Exhibit 4CriticalRarely seen

CFI will pass on to its clients any losses that it occurs from hackers, malware and operational glitches impacting CFI hedging with liquidity providers.

Where it sits: section 19 of 46 in the Risk Disclaimer Policy, 41% of the way through.

Set against a regulated standard: ESMA (EU), CySEC (Cyprus)

Under the ESMA and CySEC product intervention rules, a retail client's CFD losses are capped at the funds in the CFD account. This clause still lets CFI take its own hedging losses out of those funds.

CFI is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

04

If CFI fills an order in error and you profit, its terms say that profit is for the benefit of CFI, at CFI's discretion. Its execution policy also lets CFI change trades later, even after they show as confirmed in your account.

Why this matters

CFI can take back a balance you saw as profit, with no deadline, while your own window to query a trade closes within days. The sentence on losses from CFI's errors stops midway and never says who pays them.

Exhibit 3CriticalHarder than usual

05

Your margin level is your equity as a share of the margin your open trades use. When it falls to 50% on a retail account, CFI's platform opens new opposite trades to hedge your positions instead of closing them.

Why this matters

A hedge locks in the loss but keeps both sides open, so overnight charges keep running and CFI decides when it ends. You must also keep your margin level at 100% on Fridays and holidays, and CFI can close hedges after two weeks.

Exhibit 5WarningRarely seen50%

In this respect, the platform starts to hedge the open positions by open new trades automatically if the margin level reaches the 50% for retails categorization or 10% for professional’s categorization.

Under the ESMA and CySEC product intervention rules, a CFD provider must close one or more of a retail client's positions when the account's funds fall to 50% of the initial margin. CFI's own summary of those rules lists the close-out rule, then says open positions will be hedged automatically at 50%.

CFI's deposits page charges you 4% on card and Skrill deposits, and 4% again on Skrill withdrawals. Its FAQ still says CFI does not charge fees for most deposit methods, though two of its three methods carry the fee.

Why this matters

Paying in by card loses 4% before you trade. Profits cannot go back to a card, so CFI's FAQ points them to bank wire, which costs $25 a time.

CFI's pages promise tighter spreads and better fills than its documents

1.6 pips is the minimum EUR/USD spread in Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd's cost schedule for its Zero Commission account, advertised at 0.6 to 1.5. Its FAQ says pending orders typically fill at the price a client sets, but the client agreement says limit orders fill at the best available price. The site also promises no minimum deposit, against a $100 minimum in the contract.

Claims versus contract3 clauses flagged

The Zero Commission page advertises a EUR/USD spread, the gap between buy and sell prices, of 0.6 to 1.5 pips. CFI's own cost schedule lists 1.6 pips as the minimum spread you face on that account, above the whole advertised range.

Why this matters

On this account the spread is your main trading cost, so the page understates it. CFI's execution policy also says it adds markups on Zero Commission groups where the chart reflects the raw spread.

A limit order should trade only at your price or better, yet CFI's definitions say every limit order fills at the best available price. Its FAQ tells you pending orders typically fill at the price you set in normal markets.

Why this matters

When an order triggers, CFI sends it on as a market order, so you can be filled beyond your limit. CFI's execution report says it treats all orders as market orders that can fill significantly away from a pending order's price.

Exhibit 11WarningHarder than usual

Deposits cost 4% and several charges carry no figure

4% is the fee Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd lists for card and Skrill deposits, while its FAQ says most deposit methods are free. Its client agreement adds carry costs with no rate, extra markups on larger trades and $10 per round lot for some phone or email orders. Share accounts face a $10 monthly activity minimum after the first year.

Cost disclosure2 clauses flagged

CFI can start carry costs on your open positions if it judges your account not active enough to be worth handling, after one week's notice. The contract gives no rate for them, nor for the extra markup CFI may add on larger trades.

Why this matters

You cannot work out the full cost of holding a position from the fee pages, because these charges have no figure until CFI applies them. Orders cancelled or placed by phone, fax or email also cost $10 per round lot. CFI's execution policy limits carry costs to futures; the client agreement does not.

Exhibit 8WarningHarder than usual

Other than the overnight swap charges, CFI may charge additional Carry Costs on open positions for accounts which CFI will judge are not generating sufficient activity to validate economically to CFI to handle such accounts.
Clause 6.1 in Terms and Conditions, p.14
Read from the broker's site on Open the reference
Set against a regulated standard: CySEC (Cyprus), FCA (UK)

Firms licensed by CySEC or the FCA must give retail clients the costs and associated charges of a service before they trade. The carry cost clause names a charge but gives no rate, only a week's notice before it starts.

CFI is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

CFI's share trading terms top your monthly commissions up to $10, with the first 12 months waived. CFI also keeps all interest earned on clients' cash and lists market data at $10 a month.

Why this matters

The fees page quotes only $0.005 a share with a $1 minimum, so a light investor pays far more than the page suggests. CFI's CFD cost schedule even quotes 5 cents a share, ten times the share terms.

Withdrawals: five banking days on paper, two in the FAQ

5 banking days is what Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd's client agreement allows for a money transfer after a withdrawal request. Its FAQ says bank transfer withdrawals take up to two working days. Withdrawals must use the deposit method, and a frozen bank account freezes the client's funds at CFI too.

Exit conditions1 clause flagged

CFI's client agreement allows five banking days for a money transfer after it receives your request. Its FAQ says bank transfer withdrawals take up to two working days, and clause 15.9 promises same-day processing.

Why this matters

Plan on the contract's five banking days, not the FAQ's two. The contract also says if your bank account is frozen for any reason, your funds at CFI are frozen too, with no responsibility on CFI.

CFI hedges at stop-out and can change leverage without notice

At a 50% margin level, Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd opens hedging trades on a retail account instead of closing positions. It can close the hedge after two weeks, change leverage without prior notice and set spreads at its absolute discretion.

Control of your positions1 clause flagged

CFI can change your leverage, the multiple of your money you can trade with, without notice. Its terms say it acts in the best interest of the company and/or the client, and it sets spreads at its absolute discretion.

Why this matters

Lower leverage or wider spreads can push open trades toward a margin call overnight. CFI's share terms also let it change fees without prior notice, although the client agreement promises advance notice of fee changes.

Exhibit 15WarningHarder than usual

Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd. has the right to apply what is the best interest to the company and/or to client and to adjust the account leverage without prior notice in the client account.

You get two working days, and CFI's liability stops at your deposits

Two working days is all Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd gives a client to request a trade audit, and 24 hours to dispute a daily statement. Its liability for proven damages stops at what a client deposited, and it excludes liability for losing client funds held at a bank. Its complaint procedure still lets clients go straight to the Financial Ombudsman, CySEC or the courts.

Complaint deadlines1 clause flagged

CFI limits any proven damages to what you deposited and never pays for lost profits. It also says it is not liable for losing your funds, including where a bank holds them. Its custody terms let it keep client money outside the European Economic Area.

Why this matters

A bank failure could cost you money that CFI says it does not have to make good. Its custody terms say it is liable only for deliberate failures to perform its duties.

Exhibit 14WarningHarder than usual

In the event of proven damages the liability of the Company, its officers, employees, or agents is limited to the amount of money that the Client has transferred or deposited in his/her Account with the Company.

Set against a regulated standard: CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by CySEC must keep client money in segregated accounts and use due care in choosing and reviewing the banks that hold it. CFI's contract describes that care, then says it is not liable for losing client funds held by a bank.

CFI is not licensed by this regulator, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

Expired paperwork can hold up your money

15 days is the deadline Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd sets for identity checks at account opening, with deposits capped at €2,000 until then. After that, CFI may hold a client's funds, with no time limit, until expired documents are renewed.

Document checks1 clause flagged

CFI expects you to keep your identity and address documents current at all times. If you miss its reminders, it may hold your funds until you update your file, with no time limit.

Why this matters

A withdrawal can stall over paperwork rather than anything you did wrong. CFI's deposits page says it pays a withdrawal only when your file meets every identification update requested.

Eleven idle months cost $100

$100 is the inactive account fee Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd charges each December when a client made no transaction from January to November. The clause sits on page 51 of the 62-page client agreement and does not appear on CFI's fees page, which promises no hidden fees. CFI also archives accounts after 30 days without activity and does not email clients when it reclassifies them.

In plain words

Dormancy means an account left unused.

Dormancy1 clause flagged

If you make no transaction from January to November, CFI charges an inactive account fee of $100 that December. The fee sits on page 51 of the 62-page client agreement and is missing from CFI's fees page.

Why this matters

An idle balance shrinks by $100 a year. The fee never takes more than the balance, and CFI waives it if another of your accounts is active. CFI does not email you when it reclassifies your account.

Who the contract is with

Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd

Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd is the firm you contract with: a Cyprus company (HE 303814), licensed by CySEC under number 179/12 and formerly called CFI Markets Ltd. The FAQ on its Cyprus site describes the parent, CFI Financial Group Holding Ltd, headquartered in Dubai, and warns that some products it promotes may not apply in your jurisdiction. The client agreement lists a group company in Mauritius, CFI International Ltd, first among CFI's price and liquidity providers.

In fairness, and what we could not check

A reader who knows the edges of the work can trust the middle of it

CFI publishes a large, dated document set, including a 665-page cost schedule that lists spreads and margins instrument by instrument. Its client agreement says changed terms apply only with your consent. Retail clients get negative balance protection and segregated client money. The complaint procedure lets you go straight to the Financial Ombudsman, CySEC or the courts, with a reply due within two months.

Several CFI documents disagree with each other. The share trading terms name Arabic as the official business language, while the client agreement names English. The cost schedule quotes 5 cents a share for stocks, where the fee page and share terms say $0.005. The FAQ on the Cyprus site says it describes CFI Financial Group Holding Ltd and that some products may not apply in your jurisdiction.

How to check any of this yourself

Every quote above links to the CFI file it came from. This is what to do with it.

Open the three stepsFind the words in the source, work out the fingerprint, and read what a difference does and does not prove.

Open the source and search for the words

Every quote has a link under it. Open the file, or the web page, and search it for the words we quote. The clause number next to the quote tells you where to look.

If the words are not there any more, the source may have changed after we read it. That is worth knowing too. We keep the date we read it, and a code worked out from its wording, so the quote stays checkable.

What a fingerprint is

A fingerprint is a code worked out from what a source says. Change one word and the code changes completely. We keep two codes for every file we read, and the panel on each source shows both.

The first is the code of the exact file we downloaded. The second is the code of its wording alone, with capital letters lowered and runs of spaces collapsed. When the same words are saved as a new file, the first code changes and the second one stays the same.

Only the first code can be worked out on your own computer. Save the file, then run one of these, putting the name of the file you saved where the example is. The panel on each source prints the command with that source's real file name already in it.

macOS or Linux:
  shasum -a 256 the-file-you-saved.pdf

Windows:
  certutil -hashfile the-file-you-saved.pdf SHA256

The two codes are different from each other, and they are not meant to match. Comparing one against the other proves nothing.

What a difference means, and what it does not

A different file code on its own proves nothing. A PDF saved again with a new date inside it is a new file saying exactly the same thing.

A different wording code means the words themselves changed. That is the one that matters, and it is why we keep it.

Even then, a change is not proof of bad faith. Companies update their documents. What this report says is what the document said on the day we read it, and every quote carries that date.

A source that is a web page and not a file has no file to save, so only the code of its wording is shown.

How this report is made

Every clause quoted above comes from a document CFI publishes on its own website, downloaded and hashed on the date shown, with the clause number and page recorded so any reader can check it. We do not allege anything the documents do not say, and we do not judge CFI on anything other than its own published terms and its own public marketing. Where a clause has a qualifier that softens it, the report says so. Last read Nov 2, 2026.

If you represent CFI and a clause has changed, been withdrawn, or is being read out of context, tell us and we will re-read the documents and update this page. Corrections from the broker are welcome and are published with the reading they change. Contact us.

This is a reading of a contract, not legal advice and not a ruling on CFI. Whether its licence is real and current is a separate check on the broker profile.
