Is CSV Markets a scam?

Likely scamMEDIUM confidence
Updated September 24, 2026
Offshore broker, unverified regulation and a borrowed licence number

CSV Markets shows several hallmarks of a high-risk operation, and we assess it as a likely scam. It relies on a single offshore licence we could not confirm, and its records include a second licence number that belongs to a different company.

  • Its only advertised licence is from MISA in the Comoros, an offshore body the Comoros central bank has publicly disowned, and the number BFX2025045 does not appear on the MISA register.
  • A Belize licence number on its record, 000302/316, is registered to XTB International Limited, a separate and far larger broker. CSV Markets is not on the Belize register at all.
  • The domain csvmarkets.com was created in June 2025, so this is an operation barely a year old.
  • The public website is down with a critical error, yet the client portal still takes new sign-ups and deposits.
  • No regulator has published a warning naming this firm, and no court or regulator has made a finding of fraud against it.

Risk scorecard

Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.

Worst area: Critical
SeverityLowModerateHighCritical

Regulation

8/10 · Critical

Only an unconfirmable MISA (Comoros) licence, from a body the Comoros central bank disowns; a Belize number on record belongs to XTB International Limited.

Identity & transparency

6/10 · High

A legal entity, a Comoros registration number and addresses are disclosed, but the marketing site is down and a licence number belongs to another firm.

Withdrawals & conduct

4/10 · Moderate

One third-party review notes slow withdrawals and a fund-safety worry; no confirmed pattern of refused withdrawals across platforms.

Reputation

5/10 · Moderate

Very thin footprint: no Trustpilot profile and a single mixed third-party review; no positive independent track record, and no regulator warning either.

Website claims

7/10 · High

Advertises regulation it cannot substantiate and carries a Belize licence number registered to XTB International Limited.

Operational history

6/10 · High

Domain created June 2025, about one year old, with no verified predecessor or trading history; an upper bound, as the Comoros incorporation date is not public.

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

Our verdict rests on a stack of problems that all point the same way.

  • The regulation does not hold up. The only licence CSV Markets advertises is from the Mwali International Services Authority (MISA) in the Comoros. The Comoros central bank has publicly said MISA has no authority to license financial firms. The MISA public register of authorised brokerage companies does not list CSV Markets, and the number BFX2025045 does not appear on it.
  • A licence number that belongs to someone else. The record for CSV Markets includes a Belize Financial Services Commission licence numbered 000302/316. The base of that number, 000302, is registered to XTB International Limited, a large London-listed broker, as XTB itself confirms in its own documents. A search of the Belize regulator register returns no CSV Markets whatsoever. Using another company's licence number is the core mechanic of a fake-regulation scam.
  • Very short history. The domain csvmarkets.com was created in June 2025. There is no sign of any earlier trading history under this or a predecessor name.
  • A broken shopfront that still takes money. The public website returns a critical error on every page, while the client portal at login.csvmarkets.com stays open for new registrations and deposits from clients worldwide.
  • Thin, cautious reputation. There is no Trustpilot profile, and the one third-party review we found flags dismissive support, slippage and slow withdrawals, with the reviewer worried about the safety of funds.

No regulator has published a warning naming this firm, and no court or regulator has made a finding of fraud against it. We assess the risk of fraud as high on the evidence above, and because the operation is so young the score also reflects how little can be independently confirmed about it.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

In fairness to CSV Markets, several innocent explanations deserve a mention.

  • MISA licences are genuinely sold to brokers, and a 2025 licence number would not yet appear on a public list that currently ends in December 2024. The licence may be genuinely held even though it could not be confirmed.
  • Offshore-only licensing is common and is not by itself proof of a scam. Hundreds of real brokers operate this way.
  • The client portal still works, so the business is operating rather than abandoned, and the broken marketing site may be a technical failure.
  • The single negative review describes service and trading-condition problems, not a confirmed theft of funds, and no regulator has issued a warning.

These points are why we land on likely scam rather than a stronger verdict. What we cannot explain away is a licence number that belongs to XTB and the absence of any regulation we could independently confirm.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

We would revise this assessment if the facts changed.

  • CSV Markets appearing on the MISA authorised-brokerage register under number BFX2025045, or on any recognised regulator register, would raise the score.
  • Clear evidence that the Belize number 000302/316 was never presented by CSV Markets, or a proper explanation of it, would remove the identity-misuse finding.
  • A restored, transparent website with consistent licence details and a working licence-verification link would help its case.
  • A body of genuine, specific positive reviews across independent platforms describing successful withdrawals would move the reputation score down.

Any regulator warning naming csvmarkets.com, or a consistent pattern of refused withdrawals, would move it the other way toward a stronger verdict.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

12 questions
Is CSV Markets a scam?

We assess CSV Markets as a likely scam. Its only advertised licence, from MISA in the Comoros, could not be confirmed, and its record includes a Belize licence number that belongs to XTB International Limited, a different company. Treat it with strong caution.

Is CSV Markets a fraud?

No court or regulator has made a finding of fraud against CSV Markets, so we do not state that as fact. On the evidence we found, including a licence number that belongs to another firm, we assess the risk of fraud as high.

Is CSV Markets regulated?

Only by MISA in the Comoros, an offshore body the Comoros central bank has publicly disowned. We could not find CSV Markets or licence BFX2025045 on the MISA register, and it is not on any major regulator register.

Can I withdraw my money from CSV Markets?

We cannot guarantee it. One review reports slow withdrawals and worries about fund safety. If a broker asks you to pay a fee or tax before releasing funds, that is a warning sign; do not pay it.

Is my money safe with CSV Markets?

A MISA licence offers little or no protection, there is no compensation scheme, and the regulation could not be verified. We would not consider client funds well protected here.

Who owns CSV Markets?

The operator is CSV Markets Limited, company number HT00325029, registered in Fomboni, Moheli, in the Comoros, with an operations address given in Hong Kong. No parent group is disclosed.

How old is CSV Markets?

The website domain was created in June 2025, so the operation is about one year old. We found no evidence of any earlier trading history.

What is a MISA licence worth?

Very little. MISA is an offshore registrar on a Comoros island, not a recognised financial regulator, and the Comoros central bank has said it has no authority to license financial firms.

Is CSV Markets a clone of XTB?

It does not copy XTB's brand or website, so it is not a straightforward clone. But a Belize licence number on its record, 000302/316, uses XTB International Limited's licence base, which is misleading.

Why is the CSV Markets website down?

The public site csvmarkets.com returns a critical error on every page. The client login portal still works and still accepts new sign-ups, so the business appears to be operating.

What should I do if I was scammed by CSV Markets?

Stop sending money, especially any fee or tax to release funds. Gather your records, contact your bank or card provider about a chargeback, and report it to your local financial regulator.

What should I check before depositing with any broker?

Confirm the licence number on the regulator's own register, check for warnings, look for genuine independent reviews describing successful withdrawals, and be wary of very new domains and high-leverage offers.

Our advice

Treat CSV Markets with strong caution.

  • Do not deposit money you are not fully prepared to lose. The regulation on offer gives you little or no protection.
  • Verify any licence claim yourself on the regulator's own register before trusting it.
  • If you already have funds with CSV Markets, test a small withdrawal before adding more, and keep records of every transaction and conversation.
  • If a withdrawal is refused, or you are asked to pay a fee or tax to release your money, stop paying and report it to your local financial regulator and your bank or card provider.

This is an independent assessment of risk, not a legal ruling. Scores and verdicts follow the Wikilix broker-safety methodology and can change as new evidence appears. Review scores are treated with caution when a broker’s reviews look manipulated. Last reviewed September 24, 2026.
