Is Delapan Emas Berjangka a scam?

High risk (unverified)MEDIUM confidence
Updated August 24, 2026
Defunct broker, licence revoked by the regulator

PT Delapan Emas Berjangka is not an active scam, but it is no longer a licensed broker and no longer operates: Indonesia's futures regulator BAPPEBTI revoked its licence on 20 June 2022, and its website has since gone offline.

  • BAPPEBTI's own register of revoked futures brokers lists PT Delapan Emas Berjangka under licence number 003/BAPPEBTI/SI/12/2019.
  • The regulator published the revocation decision on 20 June 2022, after the commodity exchange and the clearing house both withdrew the firm's membership on 17 May 2022.
  • The company does not appear on BAPPEBTI's list of active futures brokers, and a search of the regulator's public legality-check portal returns no record of it in any category.
  • The website 8emas.co.id no longer resolves at all, and no page from it has been archived since 2022.
  • We found no complaints from clients about money being withheld, and no regulator warning accusing this firm of fraud. The risk here is an abandoned, unlicensed shell, not a proven theft.

Note: the risk figure shown is 65%, raised from an evidence-based 56% because track record under 3 years (age could not be established).

Worst area: Critical

Regulation

8/10 · Critical

The BAPPEBTI licence 003/BAPPEBTI/SI/12/2019 was genuine but was revoked on 20 June 2022, and the company appears in no BAPPEBTI register today; credit is given because the licence was real and no number was fabricated or borrowed.

Identity & transparency

4/10 · Moderate

While trading it was openly identified, with a real named entity, a genuine Jakarta office address on the regulator's register, landlines, a company email domain and a named director; today the company is simply unreachable.

Withdrawals & conduct

4/10 · Moderate

No client complaints about money being withheld were found on any platform, but a defunct broker with no contact route is still a practical risk for anyone left holding a balance.

Reputation

6/10 · High

Almost no public trace for a firm that traded under licence for over two years, with no consumer review page for the domain and a very low rating on a third-party broker directory.

Website claims

4/10 · Moderate

The claims on the site were accurate while it was licensed, with no fake awards, guaranteed profits or inflated founding date, though we could not confirm whether the licence claim was removed promptly after the revocation.

Operational history

7/10 · High

A short operating life of roughly two and a half years as a licensed broker, ended by regulatory revocation and followed by the abandonment of the domain.

Who they are

A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.

Key facts on the company behind this brand.

  • Brand: Delapan Emas Berjangka (also written 8emas)
  • Legal entity: PT Delapan Emas Berjangka
  • Registered: Gedung AXA Tower, Kuningan City, Lantai 37 Suite 04 and Lantai 27 Suite 05, Kelurahan Kuningan, Kecamatan Setiabudi, Jakarta Selatan, DKI Jakarta 12940, Indonesia
  • Website: 8emas.co.id, which no longer resolves
  • Only licence: BAPPEBTI futures broker licence 003/BAPPEBTI/SI/12/2019, revoked on 20 June 2022
  • Offers: while it traded, foreign exchange, the multilateral GOFX contracts (gold, forex and crude oil), and other commodity futures
  • Not accepted: the firm has no live platform, no working website and no contact route, so no new business can be placed with it
  • Age claim: the site carried a 2018 copyright line and the company is reported to have been formed in 2018; it was licensed from December 2019 until June 2022
Archived copy of the PT Delapan Emas Berjangka homepage from 30 November 2021, showing the AXA Tower address, landline and company email. The live site no longer resolves.

Proof of regulation on an official register: No

We could not confirm this broker on any genuine regulator’s register.

Licences the broker publishes

BAPPEBTI

Cancelled. Revoked by BAPPEBTI on 20 June 2022 and now listed on the regulator's register of revoked futures brokers.Tier 2
A full futures broker licence from Indonesia's statutory commodity futures regulator, which sits under the Ministry of Trade and requires exchange membership, clearing membership and segregated client accounts. The licence was genuine but the regulator withdrew it on 20 June 2022.
Protection: Real supervision and segregated client money while the licence was in force, and none at all since it was revoked.

ICDX

Ceased. Membership cancelled by the exchange on 17 May 2022.Not a forex licence
Membership of the Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange. This is an exchange membership rather than a licence to trade on a client's behalf, and the exchange cancelled it on 17 May 2022 by director's decree 033/SK/ICDX/DIR/V/2022, which is what triggered the loss of the BAPPEBTI licence.
Protection: None now. Exchange membership supports orderly dealing but is not itself client protection, and it has been withdrawn.
BAPPEBTI press release dated 20 June 2022 announcing the revocation of the futures broker licence held by PT Delapan Emas Berjangka.
PT Delapan Emas Berjangka listed on BAPPEBTI's register of futures brokers whose licences have been revoked, showing licence number 003/BAPPEBTI/SI/12/2019 and the AXA Tower Kuningan City address.
BAPPEBTI's public legality-check portal returns no record for Delapan Emas Berjangka in any licensed category.

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

We reached this verdict from the regulator's own records rather than from opinion.

  • The licence is genuinely gone. BAPPEBTI keeps a public list of futures brokers whose licences it has withdrawn. PT Delapan Emas Berjangka is on it, with the exact licence number the company used to advertise, 003/BAPPEBTI/SI/12/2019, and the AXA Tower address. BAPPEBTI also published the revocation decision on 20 June 2022.
  • Why it was revoked matters. The regulator acted after the Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange withdrew the firm's membership on 17 May 2022, and the clearing house did the same. That is a failure to keep exchange and clearing standing, not a published finding of fraud. We say so plainly because the difference is real.
  • Nothing has replaced it. The company is absent from BAPPEBTI's list of 36 active futures brokers, and a search of the regulator's public legality-check portal returns no entry for it under any category, including futures broking, digital gold and crypto.
  • The business has stopped. The domain 8emas.co.id no longer exists in the domain name system. The last full copy of the site in the public web archive dates from November 2021, and nothing has been captured from it since 2022.
  • We found no victim pattern. There is no page for this domain on the main consumer review platform, and our sweep across review sites, broker directories and trading forums turned up no client reports of withdrawals being refused, balances deleted or payments demanded to release funds.
  • The figure reflects a dead, unlicensed operation. The score sits in the high-risk band because a company with a revoked licence, no website and no contact route offers a client no protection and no route to recover a balance. It does not reflect any misconduct we were able to prove.
  • One limit we want to be open about. We could not open an Indonesian corporate registry entry for the company, so its incorporation date is unconfirmed and its trading age rests on the regulator's licence dates and the web archive.

Risk-profile adjustment: the evidence-based score was 56%. It is presented as 65% because track record under 3 years (age could not be established), which our policy treats as elevated risk regardless of how little was found against this broker.

  • E5The domain 8emas.co.id does not resolve. A public DNS lookup returns the status for a non-existent domain with no address records, confirming the website has been abandoned rather than merely taken offline.

  • E6An independent news report of the revocation gives the decision as Head of BAPPEBTI Decree number 01 of 2022 dated 20 June 2022, and states that the commodity exchange and the Indonesia Clearing House both cancelled the company's membership on 17 May 2022. It also notes the revocation does not extinguish the company's obligations to clients.

  • E7A dated copy of the company's own homepage from 30 November 2021 shows the entity name PT Delapan Emas Berjangka, the AXA Tower Lantai 27 Suite 05 address, the landline 021-50424888, the email [email protected] and a 2018 copyright line. These match the details on the regulator's register, which locks the identity of this report to that company.

  • E8A dated copy of the company's client complaints page sets out the complaint-handling procedure required by BAPPEBTI regulation number 4 of 2020 and directs clients to file complaints on the regulator's own portal at pengaduan.bappebti.go.id, with dedicated complaint lines and a complaints email address. This is genuine compliance apparatus rather than the closed-loop support typical of fraudulent operations.

ModerateWeb archive copy of the broker's complaints procedure page
  • E9The public web archive holds no copy of any page from this website after 2022, and the last full capture of the homepage is from November 2021. The pattern is consistent with the business closing shortly after losing its licence rather than continuing to solicit clients.

ModerateWeb archive index for the domain
  • E10There is no consumer review page at all for the domain 8emas.co.id on the main international review platform, which returns a not-found response. The company left almost no public client footprint in either direction.

  • E11A third-party broker directory records the same website, office address, landline and company email as the regulator's register and the archived site, which confirms the identity, and records no valid forex licence for the firm. The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

The fairest reading of the evidence for this company.

  • This was a real, properly licensed Indonesian futures broker, not a fake. BAPPEBTI issued it a genuine licence in December 2019, and the number it advertised is the number the regulator recorded.
  • It is not a clone. It never borrowed another firm's name, licence number or address, and nothing about it impersonates a better-known brand.
  • Its published conduct while licensed looks like compliance, not a trap. Its complaints page set out the procedure required by BAPPEBTI regulation number 4 of 2020 and pointed clients to the regulator's own complaints portal rather than keeping disputes in house.
  • It had a real office in a well-known Jakarta commercial tower, a landline, a named managing director and a company email domain. Scam shells rarely bother with any of that.
  • The revocation followed the loss of exchange and clearing membership. Firms lose that standing for capital and administrative reasons as well as for misconduct, and the regulator did not publish a fraud finding.
  • No client has publicly accused this firm of keeping their money. After a full sweep, the complaint count against it is zero.
  • Closing down after losing a licence is the correct thing to do. An operator intent on fraud usually keeps the site up and keeps taking deposits.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

Concrete findings that would move this verdict in either direction.

  • Toward a scam verdict: credible client reports, with amounts and dates, that deposits or balances were never returned when the firm shut down.
  • Toward a scam verdict: evidence that the company kept accepting deposits after 20 June 2022, or that a dated copy of its site still advertised the revoked licence after that date.
  • Toward a scam verdict: a new website, app or social channel trading under this name or run by the same people, which would make this an ongoing operation rather than a closed one.
  • Toward a scam verdict: a BAPPEBTI enforcement notice or an Indonesian court record naming the company or its directors in a fraud matter.
  • Toward a lower risk score: a BAPPEBTI record showing the licence restored, or the company appearing again on the active futures broker register.
  • Toward a lower risk score: documentation that client funds held in the segregated accounts were returned in full when the firm wound down.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

12 questions
Is Delapan Emas Berjangka a scam?

We found no proof of fraud, so we do not call it a scam. What we can prove is that it is finished as a broker: Indonesia's regulator BAPPEBTI revoked its licence on 20 June 2022 and its website no longer works. Anyone using this name today is not a licensed firm.

Is Delapan Emas Berjangka regulated?

Not any more. It held a genuine BAPPEBTI futures broker licence, number 003/BAPPEBTI/SI/12/2019, from December 2019. BAPPEBTI withdrew that licence on 20 June 2022 and the company now appears on the regulator's list of revoked brokers.

Why was the licence revoked?

The Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange cancelled the company's membership on 17 May 2022, and the Indonesia Clearing House did the same. Without exchange and clearing membership a futures broker cannot operate, so BAPPEBTI withdrew the licence a month later. The regulator did not publish a finding of fraud.

Can I still open an account or trade with them?

No. The domain 8emas.co.id no longer exists, there is no platform and there is no contact route. The company has no licence, so it would be unlawful for it to take futures business from Indonesian clients.

Is my money safe if I still have a balance with them?

We cannot confirm that funds were returned. BAPPEBTI stated that revoking the licence does not cancel the company's obligations to its clients. If you are owed money, file a complaint through the regulator's portal at pengaduan.bappebti.go.id and keep your transaction records.

How do I complain or try to get my money back?

Start with BAPPEBTI's official complaints portal, pengaduan.bappebti.go.id, and upload your identity document and proof of your transactions. If mediation does not resolve it, Indonesian futures disputes can go to arbitration at BAKTI, the commodity futures arbitration body.

Who owned and ran the company?

It was an Indonesian limited company, PT Delapan Emas Berjangka, based at AXA Tower in Kuningan City, South Jakarta. Suhartono Sardjono is named in public sources as its managing director, and he is among the licensed representatives whose permissions BAPPEBTI cancelled alongside the company licence.

How old was the company?

Public sources report it was formed in 2018 and its website carried a 2018 copyright line, though we could not confirm the incorporation date on a corporate registry. It was licensed in December 2019 and lost that licence in June 2022, so it traded as a licensed broker for roughly two and a half years.

Is this a clone of another broker?

No. It used its own name, its own licence number and its own registered address. Nothing about it imitates a better-known firm. Note that it is a different company from PT Delapan Belas Berjangka, a separate Indonesian broker with a similar sounding name.

Are there complaints about withdrawals being refused?

We did not find any. There is no page for this domain on the main consumer review platform, and our sweep across review sites, broker directories and trading forums produced no client reports of blocked withdrawals or deleted balances. The absence of reviews also means there is very little public record either way.

What does the BAPPEBTI licence it used to hold actually mean?

BAPPEBTI is Indonesia's statutory commodity futures regulator under the Ministry of Trade. A licence from it is real regulation, requiring exchange and clearing membership and segregated client accounts at an approved bank. That protection ended when the licence was revoked.

What should I check before depositing with any Indonesian futures broker?

Look the firm up yourself on ceklegalitas.bappebti.go.id and on BAPPEBTI's active futures broker list, and match the licence number and company name exactly. Also check the revoked list, because a firm can advertise a licence number that the regulator has already withdrawn.

What we recommend

The practical takeaway from everything above.

Our advice

What we suggest for anyone looking at this name today.

  • Do not send money to anything using this name. The company holds no Indonesian licence and has no working website, so any site or person now trading as Delapan Emas Berjangka or 8emas is not the licensed firm and should be treated as an impersonation attempt.
  • If you still hold a balance from before 2022, file a complaint through BAPPEBTI's official portal at pengaduan.bappebti.go.id. The regulator stated that revoking the licence does not cancel the company's obligations to its clients.
  • Indonesian futures disputes can also go to the commodity futures arbitration body, BAKTI, after the regulator's mediation step.
  • Before using any Indonesian futures broker, check it yourself on ceklegalitas.bappebti.go.id and on the active futures broker list. Both are free and take a moment.
  • Treat any offer to recover your money for an upfront fee as a second scam. Legitimate recovery never requires payment in advance.
