Esperio can charge 2% when you withdraw money you did not trade, while its payment page advertises 0%. It can void profit on suspicion alone, including any trade you open and close inside two minutes. You get three business days to complain, through a form inside an account Esperio can block. A $50 monthly fee starts after three months without a trade, and three years of silence counts as giving up your balance.

4 of these 4 figures come from a clause we rate critical, which means it can take your money or your profit rather than only delay it.

What the documents say

16 clauses worth knowing about, worst first, each quoted from ESPERIO's own files

01

Take your money out without trading first and Esperio can charge 2% of the amount you withdraw. The charge sits in clause 1.10 of the Return Policy, not on the payment page you were sent to.

Why this matters

Deposit $1,000, change your mind before your first trade, and $20 goes to Esperio on the way out. The payment page you read before depositing says 0%.

Exhibit 1CriticalHarder than usual2%

When the Client submits an “Instruction for Withdrawal of Funds”, defined in section 4 of this Policy, in the conditions of non-completion of trading operations until the moment the relevant Instruction is submitted, the Company has the right to charge the Client an additional commission for non-trading operations in the amount of 2% of the amount of withdrawn funds.
Clause 1.10 in Return Policy
Read from the broker's site on Open the reference

What it costs$1,000 withdrawn before any trading leaves your account as $980. Esperio keeps $20 on a transfer its payment page prices at 0%.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 2The exit charge sits in the same policy that lets Esperio limit a withdrawal in any way it chooses.
02

Esperio sets the withdrawal commission, the exchange rate and the minimum and maximum you may take out. All four appear only inside your logged in account. Clause 4.8 then gives Esperio up to seven working days to consider a request, and it can extend that.

Why this matters

You cannot see what a withdrawal will cost, or how small it may be, until after you have deposited. If Esperio questions your identity, clause 9.17 can require you to appear at its office in St Vincent and the Grenadines, and clause 9.18 holds the payment until you do.

Exhibit 2CriticalHarder than usual7 working days

The currency in which the transfer is made, the conversion rate, the size of the commission and other costs, as well as the minimum and maximum amounts of debiting funds are determined by the Company depending on the method of debiting funds used and are indicated in the Personal Account.
Clause 4.4 in Return Policy
Read from the broker's site on Open the reference
Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC must pay a retail client's money back promptly on request and must disclose every charge before the client trades. This contract keeps the charge, the rate and the limits inside the account and sets no final deadline for payment.

ESPERIO is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

03

Any sign that Esperio alone reads as arbitrage or abuse makes your trades and the profit from them void, under clause 7.2.1 of its trading regulations. Clause 7.2.2 treats a trade you open and close inside two minutes as a sign of trading on stale prices, which Esperio can then revoke.

Why this matters

A fast exit on a news spike can be read as abuse, and clause 7.2.1 catches it whether you acted voluntarily or involuntarily. Esperio decides, takes the profit back, and the same clause says it is not liable for cancelling anything.

Exhibit 3CriticalHarder than usual2

Any indication or suspicion (as determined solely by the Company) of arbitrage unrelated to market inefficiencies, abusive practices, coordinated internal hedging, fraud, manipulation, cashback arbitrage, latency or SWAP arbitrage, or any other dishonest or fraudulent activity carried out in a Client's account or relating to any Transactions, shall render all such Transactions and any resulting profits or losses void.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 4A trade voided this way leaves you three business days to object, through a form inside an account Esperio can block.
04

You get three business days to raise a claim, counted from the day the problem happened, not the day you noticed it. Clause 7.1.1 sets that deadline, and clause 7.1.2 rejects any claim sent by email, phone or fax.

Why this matters

Miss the three days and Esperio can refuse to look at the matter at all. It can also refuse a claim that contains an emotional evaluation of the dispute, which is clause 7.2.

Exhibit 4CriticalHarder than usual3 working days

The claim shall be submitted no later than 3 (three) business days from occurrence of the grounds for such claim.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC have to handle a retail complaint whenever it arrives and must point the client to an independent ombudsman or arbitration scheme. This contract gives you three business days and names no outside body.

05

Esperio's bonus page offers 24% a year on your own money, described as passive income credited automatically. Its risk disclosure says the company does not guarantee that you will receive any income at all.

Why this matters

To collect the 2% a month you must trade 4 lots for every $1,000 in the account, which is trading, not passive income. Those trades carry spread, commission and market risk, and all three fall on you.

Exhibit 5CriticalRarely seen24%

The Client is hereby also notified that the Company does not guarantee that the Client will receive income from transactions under the Client / Partnership Agreement.
Clause 5 in Risk Disclosure, p.2
Read from the broker's site on Open the reference

What it costsOn $1,000 of your own funds the bonus pays $20 a month, and Esperio requires 4 lots of turnover in that month to earn it.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus), ESMA (EU)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC, and firms under ESMA rules, must keep promotions to retail clients fair, clear and not misleading, and may not present a return on a product that can lose the client's capital. Esperio's own copy trading rules ban its traders from publishing promises of yield.

ESPERIO is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

Our readingA fixed monthly percentage on deposited money is the language of a savings product. Here it sits on a CFD account where the same money can be lost, and the payment depends on hitting a monthly trading turnover target.

06

Stop trading for three months and Esperio can charge $50 a month or move your account to an archive where your access is blocked. Three years of silence counts as giving up every penny the agreement owes you, under clause 1.9.2 of the Return Policy.

In plain words

Dormancy means an account left unused.

Why this matters

A small account simply disappears: $300 left alone pays for six months of charges and nothing else. Getting an archived account back takes a request and up to seven business days, and Esperio decides when that happens.

Exhibit 6CriticalRarely seen$50

Company may charge a monthly inactivity fee of 50 USD (or equivalent depending on account base currency) or send inactive trading accounts to archive (as prescribed by Company Regulations) after a period of three consecutive months of no trading activity (except affiliate accounts).
Clause 11.1 in Client Agreement (individual and corporate accounts), p.6
Read from the broker's site on Open the reference

What it costs$300 sitting in an untouched account is gone after six monthly charges of $50.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK)

Firms licensed by the FCA may stop treating a dormant balance as client money only after six years without contact, and must undertake to pay the client back if they reappear. Esperio treats three years of inaction as giving up the money.

ESPERIO is not licensed by this regulator, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

Our readingDormancy fees are common, but $50 a month is many times the usual charge. Treating silence as abandonment of the balance belongs to unclaimed property law rather than to a trading contract.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 2An archived account blocks your access, and a withdrawal request can only be filed from inside that account.

Esperio alone decides whether your profit was honestly made

Clause 7.2.1 voids your trades and any profit from them on nothing more than an indication or suspicion, as determined solely by Esperio. Clause 7.2.2 treats a trade opened and closed inside two minutes as a sign of trading on stale prices. Clause 6.5 then covers a negative balance from your other accounts and bills you for the rest within 14 banking days.

Profit at risk1 clause flagged

If a forced closing leaves your account below zero, clause 6.5 lets Esperio take the shortfall from your other trading accounts. Anything still missing becomes a bill you must pay within 14 banking days.

In plain words

Negative balance protection is a limit that stops you owing more than you put in. Without it, one fast market move can leave you owing the broker money on top of your deposit.

Why this matters

You can end up owing Esperio more than you ever deposited, and the money in your other accounts is not walled off from the loss. Esperio advertises leverage of up to 1:1000, meaning $1 of your own money can move $1,000 of currency.

Exhibit 7CriticalHarder than usual14 working days

If after the forced closing of position the amount of funds on the Client's account becomes negative, the Company may accrue a compensation to such account in the amount required to bring the balance of the trading account to zero. Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus), ESMA (EU)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC, and firms under ESMA rules, must give a retail client negative balance protection, so a loss cannot take the account below zero. This contract does the opposite and bills you for the difference.

ESPERIO is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

Three business days, one form, and no outside body to appeal to

Esperio gives you three business days from the event to file a claim, under clause 7.1.1 of its trading regulations. Clause 7.1.2 rejects any claim sent by email, phone or fax. Clause 9.7 of the copy trading rules bars you from posting information about the company anywhere on the internet.

Complaint window1 clause flagged

Join copy trading and you agree not to put any information about Esperio's activities in the media, on a blog or anywhere on the internet without the company's written permission. Clause 9.7 covers any form it may take.

Why this matters

A public review, a warning to other traders or a forum post all fall inside that wording. Clause 9.8 then makes a copied trader repay every loss Esperio suffers if a claim lands on the company.

Exhibit 8CriticalRarely seen

The Trader and Investor are obliged not to post in the media any kind of information without written permission from the Company and not to disseminate any kind of information about the Company's activities by any means, no matter what form it may take (an article, note, etc.) in the media, in blog(s), on the Internet.
Clause 9.7 in APPENDIX No. 3: Esperio Copy Trading Service Regulations
Read from the broker's site on Open the reference

Our readingA confidentiality clause normally protects login details and the firm's own secrets. This one reaches any information about the company's activities, in any form, which includes a client's public complaint.

24% a year on the bonus page, no income guaranteed in the contract

Esperio advertises 2% a month and 24% a year as passive income on deposits of $1,000 or more. Its risk disclosure says the company does not guarantee that you will receive income at all. Collecting the bonus takes 4 lots of trading turnover each month for every $1,000 in the account.

Yield promise1 clause flagged

Esperio's pages say your money sits in accounts separate from the company's own and that its safety is guaranteed. None of the documents you sign contains a clause segregating client money.

Why this matters

Clause 13.1 of the client agreement holds everything Esperio keeps for you as collateral against what you owe it. If the company fails, clause 25.1 sends you to claim from its own successor.

Exhibit 11WarningHarder than usual

All Transactions relating thereto, now or hereinafter to be held or carried out by Company for and on Client behalf are to be held by Company as a lien/collateral for the payment of any Client liabilities to Company.
Clause 13.1 in Client Agreement (individual and corporate accounts), p.6
Read from the broker's site on Open the reference
Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC must keep client money in segregated accounts under rules the regulator inspects, with a compensation scheme behind it. Esperio promises segregation on its website and puts no such term in its contract.

ESPERIO is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

The charges that matter are the ones you cannot see yet

Esperio charges 2% when you withdraw money you did not trade, under clause 1.10 of its Return Policy. Its payment page advertises 0%. The commission, the exchange rate and the minimum withdrawal appear only inside a logged in account. Clause 2.4 gives Esperio's own server priority over every figure published on the website.

Cost disclosure1 clause flagged

The settings on Esperio's own server beat anything published on its websites, under clause 2.4 of the trading regulations. Clause 3.6 calls the spread shown on the website, the gap between the buy and the sell price, purely informative.

Why this matters

The cost you compared before signing up is not the cost you agreed to. You cannot read the server, so there is no published figure you can hold Esperio to.

Exhibit 10WarningHarder than usual

Information on trading terms defined on the Company server shall be of primary importance and has absolute priority in case of any discrepancies with any other information published on the Company websites.

The bonus and the profit it makes stay Esperio's property

Clause 2.11 of Esperio's bonus rules keeps both the bonus and the profit made with it as the company's property until the turnover target is met. Double Empower converts $3 of bonus per lot traded, inside 90 days. Clause 2.7 lets Esperio cancel a bonus when you withdraw your own money.

Bonus lock1 clause flagged

Bonus money and the profit you make with it belong to Esperio until you hit the turnover target, under clause 2.11 of its bonus rules. Miss the target and clause 2.6 removes the bonus with no notice.

Why this matters

Double Empower converts at $3 of bonus for every lot you trade, inside 90 days. Withdrawing your own deposit can cancel the bonus too, under clause 2.7.

Exhibit 9WarningHarder than usual90 days

The bonus funds as well as the profit received from trading on the bonus belong to the Company and are not subject to withdrawal until the fulfillment of turnover obligations.
Clause 2.11 in APPENDIX No. 4: Bonus Application Regulations / Rules

What it costsA $3,000 Double Empower bonus needs 1,000 lots inside 90 days to become money you can withdraw. Esperio's own example puts a $600 bonus at 200 lots.

Esperio changes the terms by posting them, and the notice counts as delivered

Clause 19.5 makes a change to the client agreement effective the moment Esperio posts it on its website. Clause 18.1 treats anything published on the site as personally delivered to you. The bonus rules go further, allowing a change at any moment with no notice, under clause 3.1.

Unilateral change1 clause flagged

Esperio can change the client agreement by posting a new version on its website, and clause 19.5 makes the change effective from the moment it is posted. Clause 3.1 of the bonus rules allows a change at any moment with no notice at all.

Why this matters

You are bound by terms you may never have seen, because clause 18.1 treats a page on the website as personally delivered to you. Esperio's trading regulations do better, giving you 8 calendar days and an email before a change bites.

Exhibit 12WarningHarder than usual

Company has a right at any time to amend or modify this Agreement, including any and all amendments, as well as to change the conditions of work and conduct by posting these amendments or the changes on the official website of the Company. Customers agree that these amendments or changes shall take effect after their posting on the official website of the Company.

Only colour scans count, and a late reply can close every account

Esperio takes only colour scanned copies and rejects photographs of documents, under clause 2.1.5 of the Return Policy. Its AML policy lets it close all your accounts if you do not supply what it asks within a reasonable time. The privacy policy sets no retention period and gives you no right to deletion.

Document demands1 clause flagged

Esperio rejects photographs of your documents and black and white scans, taking only colour scanned copies, under clause 2.1.5 of the Return Policy. Send what it asks for late and its AML policy lets it close every account you hold.

Why this matters

A phone photo of your passport is not enough, so you need a scanner to get your money out. The privacy policy sets no limit on how long Esperio keeps the copies and gives you no right to have them deleted.

Esperio takes the other side of your trade and owns the price record

The trading regulations define a trading operation as one performed between you and Esperio, so the company is your counterparty. Clause 3.1 makes prices from any other system non binding on it. Esperio's legal page publishes no conflict of interest policy.

In plain words

On a principal basis, as your counterparty, means the broker takes the other side of your trade itself. Your loss is then the firm’s gain, so it has an interest in how your trade ends.

Both sides of the trade1 clause flagged

The trading regulations define a trading operation as one performed between you and Esperio, so the company is your counterparty. Many brokers work this way. Clause 3.1 adds that prices from any other system are not binding on it.

Why this matters

Your loss on a trade is the gain of the company on the other side of it, and Esperio's own server is the only price record that counts. Its legal page publishes no conflict of interest policy.

Exhibit 14WarningHarder than usual

Trading Operation shall mean as related to these Regulations, a conversion operation with a non-deliverable financial instrument performed between the Client and the Company, i.e. an operation implying the purchase or selling of an instrument without the transfer of its ownership.

St Vincent law governs, and no court or ombudsman is named

The client agreement runs on the law of the country where Esperio is registered, St Vincent and the Grenadines. Clause 30.3 rules out the law of any other country. Clause 25.1 sends a client of an insolvent Esperio to claim from the company's own successor or associate.

Forum and law1 clause flagged

The client agreement runs on the law of the country where Esperio is registered, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and clause 30.3 rules out every other country's law. No court, arbitrator or ombudsman is named anywhere in it.

Why this matters

A claim means hiring lawyers in the Caribbean. Clause 21.1 also lets Esperio move your account to another entity without telling you first, as long as it judges that you are not materially disadvantaged.

Exhibit 15NoticeStandard wording

In fairness, and what we could not check

A reader who knows the edges of the work can trust the middle of it

Esperio publishes its whole rulebook and links it from one page in four languages: the client agreement, four appendices, the AML policy, the Return Policy and the risk disclosure. Clause 8.1 of the trading regulations gives you 8 calendar days and an email before a change takes effect, and the copy trading rules give 7. Clause 7.10 of those copy trading rules returns the whole month's accrued commission to an investor whose copied trades lost money. When Esperio asks for an image of your card, clause 3.7.1 tells you to cover everything except the first six digits and the last four. The risk disclosure is specific about leverage, volatility, technical failure and force majeure rather than one page of general warnings.

We read ten of Esperio's legal documents in full, including the client agreement and all four appendices. We did not read the partnership agreement, the trading regulations for the Esperio Invest account, or the account opening page. The file Esperio links as its SVGFSA certificate is published as a picture, so there is no text in it to read. We could read only part of the Italian privacy policy, whose copy stops in the middle of the section on your rights. The withdrawal commission, the exchange rate and the minimum and maximum withdrawal are shown only inside a logged in account, so we could not read the figures themselves. No earlier version of any of these documents is available, so this is a first reading with nothing to compare against.

How to check any of this yourself

Every quote above links to the ESPERIO file it came from. This is what to do with it.

Open the three stepsFind the words in the source, work out the fingerprint, and read what a difference does and does not prove.

Open the source and search for the words

Every quote has a link under it. Open the file, or the web page, and search it for the words we quote. The clause number next to the quote tells you where to look.

If the words are not there any more, the source may have changed after we read it. That is worth knowing too. We keep the date we read it, and a code worked out from its wording, so the quote stays checkable.

What a fingerprint is

A fingerprint is a code worked out from what a source says. Change one word and the code changes completely. We keep two codes for every file we read, and the panel on each source shows both.

The first is the code of the exact file we downloaded. The second is the code of its wording alone, with capital letters lowered and runs of spaces collapsed. When the same words are saved as a new file, the first code changes and the second one stays the same.

Only the first code can be worked out on your own computer. Save the file, then run one of these, putting the name of the file you saved where the example is. The panel on each source prints the command with that source's real file name already in it.

macOS or Linux:
  shasum -a 256 the-file-you-saved.pdf

Windows:
  certutil -hashfile the-file-you-saved.pdf SHA256

The two codes are different from each other, and they are not meant to match. Comparing one against the other proves nothing.

What a difference means, and what it does not

A different file code on its own proves nothing. A PDF saved again with a new date inside it is a new file saying exactly the same thing.

A different wording code means the words themselves changed. That is the one that matters, and it is why we keep it.

Even then, a change is not proof of bad faith. Companies update their documents. What this report says is what the document said on the day we read it, and every quote carries that date.

A source that is a web page and not a file has no file to save, so only the code of its wording is shown.

How this report is made

Every clause quoted above comes from a document ESPERIO publishes on its own website, downloaded and hashed on the date shown, with the clause number and page recorded so any reader can check it. We do not allege anything the documents do not say, and we do not judge ESPERIO on anything other than its own published terms and its own public marketing. Where a clause has a qualifier that softens it, the report says so. Last read Oct 6, 2026.

If you represent ESPERIO and a clause has changed, been withdrawn, or is being read out of context, tell us and we will re-read the documents and update this page. Corrections from the broker are welcome and are published with the reading they change. Contact us.

This is a reading of a contract, not legal advice and not a ruling on ESPERIO. Whether its licence is real and current is a separate check on the broker profile.
