Risk scorecard
Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.
Regulation
7/10 · HighNo financial licence anywhere; only a Saint Lucia company registration, which is not regulation, while it took client deposits.
Identity & transparency
6/10 · HighDiscloses an entity, registration number and address, but no named owners, operations appear to sit outside the country of registration, and the site is now dark.
Withdrawals & conduct
5/10 · ModerateFund-related complaints exist (a push to deposit more then total loss) but are few and lack transactional detail, so the pattern is unconfirmed.
Reputation
6/10 · HighUniformly negative but thin: two one-star reviews plus low-quality scam-review pages, with no positive footprint and no regulator warning.
Website claims
4/10 · ModerateGeneric marketing with a risk warning and restricted-country list; no fabricated licence, award or guaranteed-profit claim found.
Operational history
6/10 · HighAbout two years old on a recycled domain, and already offline, so there is no real track record.

Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
We mark Exotic FX high risk and unverified. It has the shape of an unlicensed offshore broker that has since gone dark, and we could not find enough to clear it or, on the other side, to prove deliberate theft.
- No regulation at all. The company leans on a Saint Lucia registration, which is company paperwork, not a financial licence. Saint Lucia has stated that forex trading is not licensed there, so no supervisor stands behind client money.
- A short, recent history on a recycled web address. exoticfx.com was first registered in 2012, but for years it hosted unrelated parked content. A broker called Exotic FX only appeared in mid 2024, the same year the company was registered. The real operating age is about two years, not the age of the domain.
- The business now appears abandoned. The main website no longer serves a trading platform, and the other listed addresses do not exist. A trading firm that vanishes while holding client relationships is a serious concern.
- Reviews are few and uniformly negative. The main review page carries two one-star reviews, one describing a push to deposit more money followed by total loss, the other simply calling it an unregulated scam. The footprint is thin, which limits how much weight it can carry.
- Why not a confirmed scam. No regulator has published a warning naming this website, and we did not find a detailed, repeated, checkable pattern of stolen withdrawals. We therefore assess the risk of fraud as high without asserting it as fact.
- Why the figure stays high. Because the operation is only about two years old and now offline, a low score would mislead. Too little can be confirmed about such a young, trace-light operation to treat it as safe.
Evidence ledger
Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1The domain exoticfx.com was first registered in 2012 through GoDaddy and is renewed to 2034, with its record last changed in January 2025.
ModerateVerisign domain registry (RDAP)E2Archived snapshots show exoticfx.com hosted unrelated parked keyword content around 2008 to 2012, then nothing for years, with a broker called Exotic FX first appearing only in mid 2024. The broker operation sits on a recycled, aged web address.
E3The broker's own archived site named the operator as Exotic FX Limited, registered in Saint Lucia under No. 2024-00391, and named no financial regulator. Saint Lucia does not license forex brokers.
E4exoticfx.com now serves only a hosting provider default page instead of a trading platform, and the listed exotic-fx.com domain returns NXDOMAIN, so the operation's web presence is down.
E5Trustpilot shows a 2.9 score from only two reviews, both one-star: one (August 2025) calls it a 'fraud company' that pushes clients to deposit more then lose everything, the other (November 2024) calls it an unregulated scam.
ModerateTrustpilotE6A search of the IOSCO I-SCAN global regulator alert network returns no entry for exoticfx.com or Exotic FX. Similarly named but unrelated firms (exoticinvest.ltd, exoticminers.com) carry FCA warnings, but those are different companies.
WeakIOSCO I-SCANE7The Saint Lucia company registration No. 2024-00391 and the mid 2024 first appearance of the website both indicate the operating company dates to 2024, making the operation about two years old.
E8The operator did not fabricate a regulatory licence or impersonate a known regulated brand, and its former site published a risk warning and a list of restricted countries.
The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
In fairness, several things separate Exotic FX from the most clear-cut scams.
- It disclosed a real-looking legal entity, a company registration number, a street address and a contact email, rather than hiding behind nothing.
- It did not fabricate a tier-1 licence or copy the name, licence number or identity of a well-known regulated firm, and it did not claim to be regulated at all.
- Its former site carried a plain risk warning and a list of restricted countries, which honest operators also do.
- The negative reviews are very few (two on the main review platform), and no financial regulator has sanctioned or warned against it.
- An offshore company registration with weak oversight is a risk tier, not proof of theft on its own.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
What would move this verdict in either direction:
- Toward scam: a regulator warning naming exoticfx.com, or several detailed independent reports (with amounts, dates and ticket numbers) showing withdrawals taken and refused, or a confirmed demand to pay a fee or tax before releasing funds.
- Toward lower risk: the operation returning under a verifiable licence from a recognised financial regulator, independent confirmation of the Saint Lucia company and its ownership, and a track record of clients being paid out.
- Independent confirmation that the Saint Lucia company (No. 2024-00391) is active, with named directors, would improve transparency but would not by itself make the business safe to use while it remains unregulated.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is Exotic FX a scam?
We rate it high risk and could not clear it. It is unregulated, its website is now offline, and its few reviews are all negative. We did not find proof of deliberate theft, so we call it high risk rather than a confirmed scam, and we advise against depositing.
Is Exotic FX a fraud?
We found no regulator warning, no enforcement action and no fraud-related court record naming Exotic FX Limited or exoticfx.com, so we cannot call it fraud as a matter of fact. Based on the unregulated status, the now-offline site and the negative reviews, we assess the risk of fraud as high.
Is Exotic FX regulated?
No. It holds no financial licence from any regulator. Its only registration is a Saint Lucia company number (2024-00391), which is ordinary company paperwork, not financial regulation. Saint Lucia does not license forex brokers.
Can I withdraw my money from Exotic FX?
The website is offline and the company appears inactive, so reaching anyone may be difficult. One reviewer reported depositing more and then losing everything. If you have funds there, request a withdrawal in writing now and keep all records.
Is my money safe with Exotic FX?
No regulator supervises it and no compensation scheme covers it, so there is no safety net if funds are not returned. An unregulated offshore broker offers no protection for client deposits.
Who owns Exotic FX?
The operator is named as Exotic FX Limited, a company registered in Saint Lucia (No. 2024-00391) at The Sotheby Building, Rodney Bay. No individual owners or directors are disclosed publicly, and Saint Lucia's registry does not publish a free public search to confirm them.
How old is Exotic FX?
About two years. The company was registered in 2024 and the website first appeared in mid 2024. The web address itself dates to 2012, but it hosted unrelated parked content for years before the broker used it, so the domain's age does not reflect the operation.
What is a Saint Lucia company registration worth for a broker?
Very little for your protection. It confirms a company exists on paper, but it is not a financial licence and imposes no supervision of how client money is handled. Saint Lucia does not regulate forex trading.
Is Exotic FX a clone of another company?
We found no sign that it copies the name, licence or identity of a known regulated firm, so it is not a clone. Note that unrelated firms with similar names (for example exoticinvest.ltd and exoticminers.com) carry their own regulator warnings, but those are different companies, not this broker.
Why is exoticfx.com not working?
The address now returns only a hosting provider's default page rather than a trading site, and the related addresses exotic-fx.com and secure.exotic-fx.com do not resolve. The operation appears to have been abandoned or taken offline.
What should I check before depositing with any broker?
Confirm a licence directly on a strong regulator's own register (FCA, ASIC, CySEC and similar), check that the website on the licence matches the site you are using, read recent withdrawal reviews, and avoid brokers that ask for extra fees or taxes to release your funds.
I think I was scammed by Exotic FX. What should I do?
Stop sending money, especially any 'fee' or 'tax' to unlock a withdrawal. Gather your records, report to your local financial regulator and to your bank or card provider, and consider a chargeback if you paid by card. Be cautious of recovery services that demand an upfront fee, as many are follow-up scams.
Does Exotic FX accept clients from my country?
Its former site said it did not serve residents of the United States, Russia, Cuba, Iraq, Myanmar, North Korea or Sudan. In practice the site is now offline, so no new accounts can be opened safely regardless of location.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
Our advice for anyone considering Exotic FX:
- Do not deposit. There is no regulator to turn to if your money is not returned.
- If you already have funds with it, request a full withdrawal in writing and keep records of every message, transaction and account-manager contact.
- Be very cautious of anyone asking for an extra payment, fee or tax to release your balance. That request is itself a common sign of a trap.
- Prefer brokers licensed by a strong regulator such as the FCA (United Kingdom), ASIC (Australia) or CySEC (Cyprus), where client money is supervised and a complaints route exists.
- If you believe you have lost money, report it to your local financial regulator and your bank or card provider, and be wary of 'recovery' services that ask for an upfront fee.
This is an independent assessment of risk, not a legal ruling. Scores and verdicts follow the Wikilix broker-safety methodology and can change as new evidence appears. Review scores are treated with caution when a broker’s reviews look manipulated. Last reviewed October 10, 2026.
