Most Popular Questions

Start with IG's client services team on +44 (20) 7633 5431 or at helpdesk.en@ig.com. If that does not resolve it, write to the compliance department at compliance@ig.com or to Compliance Department, IG International Limited, 46 Reid Street, Hamilton HM12, Bermuda; IG says it will give a full written response within eight weeks. Under IG International's customer agreement, a complaint that remains unresolved can be referred to the Bermuda Monetary Authority.

Withdrawals back to a card take two to five bank working days. For bank transfers IG gives two times: one help article says one to three working days to clear, another that the money should generally arrive within 24 hours, or the same afternoon if requested before midday. Card withdrawals have a minimum of 150 USD unless less is available and a maximum of 25,000 USD a day, bank withdrawals have no limit, and IG normally returns money by the same method and to the same place it came from.

IG's funding page lists debit card deposits, bank transfers and HKD FPS as free and charges 1% on Visa and 0.5% on MasterCard credit card deposits. Its charges page, however, lists a third-party charge of 2.3% of the transaction amount levied by the card processor, and the customer agreement reserves a reasonable administration charge for processing payments and passes all bank charges to the client. No withdrawal fee is published.

IG International accepts Visa and MasterCard debit and credit cards, bank transfers to its client accounts at HSBC in Hong Kong and Standard Chartered in Singapore, HKD FPS transfers from Hong Kong bank accounts, and transfers sent through Wise. Card deposits are instant, bank transfers take up to three business days and FPS typically one business day. Payments must come from the account holder, business, corporate and prepaid cards are not accepted, and deposits cannot be made from an iOS device.

IG International's home page advertises more than 17,000 markets, with CFDs on shares, forex, indices and commodities among them. The range depends on the platform: MT4 offers forex, indices, oil and major metals, MT5 offers major forex pairs, key indices, select commodities and, for professional traders, select cryptocurrencies, and L2 Dealer is for share and forex CFDs.

IG International's main account is the standard CFD account, which clients can convert into a limited risk account where every position carries a guaranteed stop, with the premium charged only if the stop is triggered. Clients can add MT4 and MT5 CFD accounts in My IG, and Forex Direct gives direct market access on forex for a commission. IG also offers corporate and joint accounts and a demo account with every live account, while Premium is an invitation-only status for high-volume traders rather than a separate account.

IG International charges no commission on forex, indices and commodities, where its charge is built into the spread; its MT5 page gives minimum spreads of 0.6 on EUR/USD, 0.3 on spot gold and 0.4 on the US 500. Share CFDs carry a commission on each side, for example 2 cents per US share with a 15 USD minimum online and 0.10% on UK FTSE 350 shares with a 10 GBP minimum. Forex Direct replaces the spread with a commission of 60 USD down to 10 USD per 1 million USD traded, depending on the previous month's volume, and ProRealTime costs 40 USD a month, which IG's comparison page waives for clients who trade at least four times a month while its help centre ties a rebate to consistent, fairly high-value trading.

The CFD accounts on ig.com/en are provided by IG International Limited, a Bermuda company incorporated on 18 October 2019 under registration number 54814, which WIKILIX confirmed on 22 October 2026 against its LEI record, validated at the Bermuda Registrar of Companies, and the Bermuda Monetary Authority's register. Its registered address is Crawford House, 50 Cedar Avenue, Hamilton HM 11, while IG's complaints and payment instructions use 46 Reid Street, Hamilton HM12. It is part of the IG Group, whose ultimate parent company is IG Group Holdings Plc; IG says the group was established in London in 1974 and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 index, and IG's contact page gives a head office address of Cannon Bridge House, 25 Dowgate Hill, London EC4R 2YA.

IG International sets no minimum deposit to open an account: its site says there is no minimum to open and no obligation to fund. When you fund it, card payments have a minimum of 50 USD, while bank transfers have no minimum.

Yes. IG International's site is not directed at residents of the United States, and its application form sends US applicants, including those in US territories such as Puerto Rico and Guam, to IG's separate US application. Applicants from the UK, most of the EEA, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore are sent to IG's site for their region, run by another IG company. A further 55 countries and territories, among them Iran, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Syria, mainland China, India and Canada, are missing from the form's country list, although no IG page names them as refused.

IG International's support team is available 24 hours a day except from 10pm Friday to 8am Saturday (GMT), which IG also gives as 6am to 4pm on Saturday (UTC+8). Clients can use web chat, which opens with an AI assistant, WhatsApp, phone on +44 (20) 7633 5431 and email at helpdesk.en@ig.com, and logged-in clients can reach support through the Help and Support Hub in the platform. IG's customer agreement gives a second number, +44 (0)207 896 0011, and IG also runs a Telegram channel and a client forum, IG Community.

On ig.com/en, client money is handled by IG International Limited, the Bermuda company that provides the CFD accounts, rather than by IG Group Limited. IG asks clients to send bank deposits to accounts in IG International's name that it labels as client accounts, at HSBC in Hong Kong and Standard Chartered in Singapore, and IG International's licence from the Bermuda Monetary Authority was confirmed on the BMA register on 22 October 2026. Those clients do not fall under the UK's Financial Services Compensation Scheme, which protects eligible clients of IG's FCA-authorised UK companies up to 85,000 GBP per person, per firm, and WIKILIX knows of no Bermudian investor compensation scheme that covers them.

IG International offers leverage of up to 1:200. Leverage is set market by market through IG's margin requirements rather than by account type, so the level available depends on the instrument traded. Applicants sent to IG's UK, European or Australian sites trade under those companies' own terms.

IG International offers its own web platform and IG Trading app, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, TradingView and ProRealTime, plus L2 Dealer for direct market access and REST, streaming and FIX APIs. MT4 and MT5 run through separate CFD accounts with fewer markets than IG's own platform, and L2 Dealer runs only on Windows. The IG Trading app is on Google Play; on iPhone, IG offers a progressive web app and tells clients to check whether the app is in their country's App Store, and deposits cannot be made from an iOS device.

The CFD accounts on ig.com/en are provided by IG International Limited, not IG Group Limited, and IG International is licensed by the Bermuda Monetary Authority for investment business and for Class F digital assets business, which WIKILIX confirmed on the BMA register on 22 October 2026. Other IG companies hold their own licences for their own regions, each confirmed in WIKILIX's licence check of the same date: the FCA in the UK, BaFin in Germany, ASIC in Australia, the FMA in New Zealand, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the DFSA in Dubai, the Kanto Local Finance Bureau in Japan and FINMA in Switzerland. The FSCA licence of IG Markets South Africa Limited, FSP 41393, now shows as Lapsed on the FSCA register. None of those other licences covers an account opened on ig.com/en.
