Regulation
4/10 · ModerateReal onshore BAPPEBTI licence 583/BAPPEBTI/SI/XII/2004 confirmed on the regulator's own register with a current 2022 trading permit and segregated accounts, held down by a past exchange suspension and an unverified OJK claim.
Identity & transparency
4/10 · ModerateLegal entity, address, phone, email and client bank accounts all match the regulator's record and physical branches exist, but the site lacks full legal documents and the firm let its previously advertised domain lapse without public notice.
Withdrawals & conduct
4/10 · ModerateOne specific and checkable 2024 fund-integrity dispute alleging unauthorised account trading, answered publicly by the firm with mediation offered; only one of four pattern axes met, so no withdrawal-refusal pattern is established.
Reputation
5/10 · ModerateNational press coverage of the 2016 fictitious-cash suspension and a 2024 client dispute, low third-party aggregator scores and a thin genuine client review footprint, but no warning-list hits and no scam-pattern reports.
Website claims
5/10 · ModerateLicence numbers and the 2004 age claim are accurate and verifiable, but the site asserts OJK licensing we could not confirm, presents a Kominfo electronic-system registration alongside real licences, and publishes no trading conditions or verification links.
Operational history
3/10 · LowLicence dated December 2004 and a corporate domain registered July 2005 and still renewed support roughly 21 years of continuity, but the incorporation date could not be obtained so the figure is an upper bound.
Who they are
A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.

- Registered: Kompleks Mangga 2 Square Blok G No. 5, Jl. Gunung Sahari No. 1, Ancol, Pademangan, North Jakarta, DKI Jakarta 14420, Indonesia
- Website: menarafx.co.id is the live site and the one on the regulator's record. The domain on our file, menaramas.co.id, no longer resolves. The company also still holds menaramas.com, registered in July 2005.
- Main licence: BAPPEBTI futures broker business licence 583/BAPPEBTI/SI/XII/2004, plus alternative trading system permit 02/BAPPEBTI/SPA/03/2022

- Age claim: since 2004, and this one checks out. The licence number itself is dated December 2004 and the exchange membership number is dated 2004.

Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
This is a real, licensed broker carrying real risk, so it sits in the middle of our scale rather than at either end.
- The licence is genuine and we read it at the source. We opened BAPPEBTI's own register entry for PT Menara Mas Futures. The entity name, the North Jakarta address, the phone number and the email all match the live site. So does the segregated client account number: the register shows BCA 0353117260, and the company's own archived site published 035-311-7260 as its client account. That level of agreement rules out an impersonator.
- Our clone flag does not survive contact with the evidence. The 2022 snapshot of menaramas.co.id carries the same licence number, the same address, the same phone numbers, the same segregated account and the same social accounts as the licensed firm. It was this company's own earlier website, not somebody copying it. A third-party broker directory still carries a stale, low-scored duplicate entry keyed to that dead domain, and that is the most likely origin of the clone label on our file.
- There is a real regulatory violation in its history. On 28 June 2016 the Jakarta Futures Exchange froze the company's exchange membership approval letter by letter L/JFX/DIR/06-16/484, after fictitious cash was found in its financial reports for November 2015 to January 2016. The exchange also cited credit margin facilities offered to clients, adjusted net capital below the required level, insufficient paid-in capital, non-compliant branch offices and shareholder receivables. National financial press covered it. Fictitious cash in a broker's books is a serious finding, and it counts against this firm even though it is old.
- That history appears to have been remediated, and we credit that. The company is on BAPPEBTI's current register, holds an alternative trading permit issued in March 2022, and has 10 named representatives licensed to it. A firm that had been shut down would not look like that.
- One client fund dispute, not a pattern. A 2024 Indonesian media report set out a named client's allegation that her account was traded without her permission after promises of fixed daily returns from an individual connected to the sales chain. It is specific and checkable on dates and amounts, which is why we count it. But it is one case reported in one story, the company replied publicly, said the losses were market risk on gold, held two mediations and pointed the client to the regulator's own dispute route. On our four-part test it meets one axis out of four, so we record it as unconfirmed rather than as a withdrawal-refusal pattern.
- Several claims we simply could not confirm. The site states it is licensed and supervised by OJK for securities-based derivatives, and we could not find that on OJK's own records. We could not open the exchange's member list to confirm the current standing of the 2004 membership that was frozen in 2016. We could not confirm the clearing membership. The company publishes no clickable verification link for any of its licence numbers, so we located the register ourselves.
- The age is real but rests on one leg. The oldest domain we could date is menaramas.com, registered on 26 July 2005 and still being renewed, which fits a firm licensed in December 2004. Indonesia's company registry is not publicly searchable, so we could not obtain an incorporation date. That makes the roughly 21-year figure an upper bound rather than a fully proven track record, and it is why our confidence is medium rather than high.
- Nothing on any warning list. We swept the international regulator alert lists for the brand and both domains and found no entries.
Evidence ledger
Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1BAPPEBTI's own register entry names PT. MENARA MAS FUTURES with business licence 583/BAPPEBTI/SI/XII/2004, alternative trading permit 02/BAPPEBTI/SPA/03/2022, the North Jakarta address, phone 021-6231 3113, email [email protected], website www.menarafx.co.id, segregated client accounts at BCA and Bank Mandiri, and 10 licensed broker representatives. This is primary proof the firm is genuinely licensed.
Hard proofBAPPEBTI futures broker registerE2The 2022 archived copy of the anchor domain menaramas.co.id publishes licence 583/BAPPEBTI/SI/XII/2004, exchange membership SPAB 087/BBJ/09/04, clearing membership 38/AK-KBI/IV/2006, the Mangga 2 Square address, phones 021-22685433 and 021-62313113, and segregated account 035-311-7260, which matches the BCA account 0353117260 on the regulator's record. The anchor domain was this licensed company's own former website, not a clone of it.
E3The Jakarta Futures Exchange froze PT Menara Mas Futures' exchange membership approval letter with effect from 28 June 2016 by letter L/JFX/DIR/06-16/484, after finding fictitious cash in the company's financial reports for November 2015 to January 2016. Further violations cited were credit margin facilities to clients, adjusted net capital below requirement, insufficient paid-in capital, non-compliant branch offices and shareholder receivables. The firm had until 28 July 2016 to remedy.
E4BAPPEBTI published its own notice on the suspension of PT Menara Mas Futures dated 28 June 2016, confirming the regulator was directly involved in the matter rather than the exchange acting alone.
ModerateBAPPEBTI press release documentE5The company's own licensing page lists BAPPEBTI licence 583, exchange membership 087/BBJ/09/04, clearing membership 38/AK-KBI/IV/2006 and an electronic system registration TDPSE 008006.01/DJAI.PSE/10/2022, and states it is licensed and supervised by OJK for securities-based derivative products. No clickable verification link is published for any of these numbers, and the electronic system registration is an IT registration rather than financial regulation.
ModerateCompany legal and licensing pageE6A 2024 Indonesian media report set out a named client's allegation that she lost money after an individual connected to the sales chain promised fixed daily returns and her account was managed without her permission. The company issued a clarification saying the losses were market risk on gold, that two mediations had been held, and inviting the client to continue through the regulator's mediation process. Dates and amounts are specific, but this is a single reported case.
E7The company's legacy corporate domain menaramas.com was registered on 26 July 2005 through an Indonesian registrar, is still active and was last renewed in July 2026 with expiry in 2027. This independently supports the advertised 2004 founding and shows continuous control of the brand's original domain.
ModerateVerisign RDAP domain recordE8The anchor domain menaramas.co.id no longer resolves in DNS and archive coverage stops in mid-2022, while the replacement site menarafx.co.id has continuous archive coverage from May 2023 to May 2026. The operation moved domains and the old one lapsed.
E9The company publishes a client complaint procedure that names its compliance contact points and links clients to the regulator's official online complaint portal. A broker directing complainants to its regulator is a positive transparency signal.
ModerateCompany client complaint pageE10No entry naming Menara Mas Futures, menarafx.co.id or menaramas.co.id was found on the international regulator warning and alert lists, including the IOSCO aggregator and the FCA, ASIC, CFTC and MAS lists, as at 26 August 2026.
E11PT Mega Menara Mas Berjangka is a separate company with a closely similar name that third parties describe as unregulated with a suspended website. It is a name collision and none of its findings were attributed to PT Menara Mas Futures.
E12The company operates a white-label MetaTrader 4 server named PTMenaraMasFutures-Real and runs branch offices beyond its Jakarta head office, with dated public evidence of a branch opening in Medan and regional social accounts in Makassar and Pekanbaru. A real trading and branch operation exists behind the brand.
The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
The case for treating this firm as ordinary rather than risky is stronger than our percentage suggests, and it deserves stating plainly.
- It holds a real licence from Indonesia's actual national commodity futures regulator, not an offshore registration bought to look regulated. We verified it on the regulator's own website, not on the company's marketing pages.
- Client money sits in segregated accounts at two major Indonesian banks, and the account numbers on the regulator's record match what the company publishes. That is the specific protection this licence is supposed to deliver, and it appears to be in place.
- Ten individually licensed broker representatives are registered to the firm. That is a real, supervised staff structure.
- The company has physical presence beyond a website: a head office at the address on the register, and branch activity in Medan, Makassar and Pekanbaru with dated public evidence of a branch opening.
- The 2016 enforcement action is ten years old, and the firm was permitted to continue and was granted a fresh trading permit in 2022. Regulators do not hand new permits to firms they consider unfit. Treating a decade-old, remedied violation as current risk would be unfair.
- The age claim is honest. Many suspect brokers inflate their history. This one advertises 2004 and the licence number, the exchange membership number and a 2005 domain all support it.
- The single 2024 dispute involves alleged conduct by an individual in the sales chain, and the company responded publicly and offered the regulator's mediation route rather than going silent. The same client's larger loss was connected to a different broker entirely.
- The dead anchor domain is a housekeeping failure, not deception. The company moved to menarafx.co.id, told the regulator, and kept its 2005 corporate domain renewed.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
Concrete things that would move this verdict in either direction.
- Lower risk: OJK confirming on its own public register that PT Menara Mas Futures is licensed for securities-based derivatives, which would resolve the one licence claim we could not check.
- Lower risk: the Jakarta Futures Exchange publishing a current member list showing the company in good standing, closing the loop on the membership frozen in 2016.
- Lower risk: an Indonesian company registry record giving the incorporation date, which would turn the 21-year track record from an upper bound into a proven figure and lift our confidence to high.
- Lower risk: the company publishing complete terms and conditions, account specifications and withdrawal timescales, and adding direct verification links next to each licence number.
- Higher risk: three or more independent clients on separate platforms describing the same withdrawal failure within one window, with amounts and dates. That would convert a single dispute into a pattern and move this toward a scam verdict.
- Higher risk: any credible report of a demand for an extra payment, tax or fee before funds are released. One specific instance of that would change our conclusion sharply on its own.
- Higher risk: a fresh BAPPEBTI or exchange sanction, a licence suspension or revocation, or the register entry disappearing.
- Higher risk: the company advertising a licence it does not hold, or a warning-list entry naming menarafx.co.id.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is Menara Mas Futures a scam?
No, not on the evidence available. PT Menara Mas Futures holds a genuine Indonesian futures broker licence, 583/BAPPEBTI/SI/XII/2004, which we confirmed on BAPPEBTI's own public register. We rate it 41 percent risk, meaning elevated risk rather than fraud, mainly because of a 2016 regulatory violation and several claims we could not independently confirm.
Is Menara Mas Futures regulated?
Yes. It is licensed by BAPPEBTI, Indonesia's commodity futures regulator, and holds an alternative trading system permit issued in March 2022. The register also records segregated client accounts at Bank Central Asia and Bank Mandiri, plus 10 individually licensed broker representatives. It separately claims OJK supervision for securities-based derivatives, which we could not verify.
Why does our record call it a suspicious clone?
That label was wrong, and this scan corrects it. It appears to trace back to a stale, low-scored duplicate listing on a third-party broker directory that was keyed to menaramas.co.id, the company's own abandoned website. That domain was genuinely the firm's earlier address, not an impersonator, and we recommend the profile be reset to regulated.
Why does menaramas.co.id not work?
The domain no longer exists. It stopped resolving after the company moved its website to menarafx.co.id, which is the address BAPPEBTI now has on file. If anyone contacts you from a menaramas.co.id address, treat it as illegitimate, because the company cannot be using it.
What happened in 2016?
On 28 June 2016 the Jakarta Futures Exchange froze the company's exchange membership approval letter after finding fictitious cash in its financial reports for November 2015 to January 2016. The exchange also cited credit margin facilities given to clients, adjusted net capital below the required level, insufficient paid-in capital and non-compliant branch offices. The firm was given until 28 July 2016 to fix things, and it evidently did, because it is still licensed today.
Can I withdraw my money from Menara Mas Futures?
We found no pattern of refused withdrawals. There is one 2024 case in Indonesian media where a client said her account was traded without her permission and she lost money, which the company disputed as market risk. Because that is a single reported case, we cannot confirm a systematic withdrawal problem. We would still test a small withdrawal early.
Is my money safe with this broker?
Client funds are supposed to sit in segregated accounts at two major Indonesian banks, and the account numbers on the regulator's record match what the company publishes, which is a real protection. But Indonesian retail futures carries high leverage and a poor industry-wide complaint record, and this firm has a past finding of fictitious cash in its books. Only risk money you can afford to lose.
How old is Menara Mas Futures?
About 21 years, and the claim checks out. Its licence number is dated December 2004, its exchange membership number is dated 2004, and its corporate domain menaramas.com was registered in July 2005 and is still renewed. We could not obtain a company incorporation date because Indonesia's registry is not publicly searchable, so treat 21 years as an upper bound.
What is a BAPPEBTI licence worth?
It is real, statutory, onshore regulation by an Indonesian government agency, which puts it well above the offshore registrations many brokers advertise. It requires segregated client accounts and licensed representatives. That said, BAPPEBTI has been publicly criticised, including by Indonesia's Ombudsman, over slow and weak handling of client complaints, so do not treat the licence as a guarantee of redress.
Is Menara Mas Futures the same as Mega Menara Mas Berjangka?
No. PT Mega Menara Mas Berjangka is a different company with a similar name, and it has been described elsewhere as unregulated with a non-functioning website. None of its findings belong to PT Menara Mas Futures, and you should not confuse the two when researching either.
Does it appear on any regulator warning list?
No. We searched the international alert lists, including the IOSCO aggregator and the FCA, ASIC, CFTC and MAS lists, using the brand name and both domains, and found no entries. Absence from these lists is reassuring but is not a clean bill of health, because they mainly cover firms soliciting in those countries.
What should I check before depositing?
Open BAPPEBTI's register entry and match the licence number, address and segregated account numbers against what your contact tells you. Send money only to those named company accounts. Get the spreads, fees and withdrawal timescales in writing, since the website does not publish them. Refuse any promise of fixed daily returns and never let anyone else trade your account.
What do I do if I think I have been scammed by this broker?
Gather your transfer receipts, account statements and all chat or call records. Complain to the company in writing first, then file through BAPPEBTI's online complaint portal at pengaduan.bappebti.go.id. If that does not resolve it, Indonesian law allows arbitration through BAKTI or a claim in the state courts. Never pay anyone who offers to recover your funds for an upfront fee, because that is a second scam.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
If you are considering or already using this broker, here is what we would do.
- Check the register yourself before depositing. Open BAPPEBTI's entry for PT Menara Mas Futures and confirm the licence number, the address and the segregated account numbers match what you are told.
- Only ever transfer money to the segregated client accounts named on the regulator's record. Never to a personal account, a staff member's account, or any wallet.
- Refuse any offer of fixed or guaranteed daily returns. No licensed futures broker can promise that, and it is the exact mechanism behind the 2024 complaint against this firm.
- Never let a representative, account manager or partner trade your account for you. Keep sole control of your own credentials.
- Get the trading conditions in writing before you fund anything, since the site does not publish full account terms, spreads or withdrawal timescales.
- Start small and test a withdrawal early, before committing meaningful capital.
- If you have a problem, use the formal route: the company's complaints procedure first, then BAPPEBTI's online complaint portal, then arbitration through BAKTI or the courts.
- Ignore anyone contacting you from the old menaramas.co.id address or claiming to represent the firm from it. That domain no longer exists and cannot belong to the company.
- For our own records, this broker's profile should be corrected from suspicious clone to regulated, its licences added, and its main website changed to menarafx.co.id.
