Risk scorecard
Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.
Regulation
7/10 · HighHolds a genuine, in-force licence, but only from the Mwali registrar in the Comoros, and the Georgian entity that runs the site has a company registration rather than a financial licence.
Identity & transparency
3/10 · LowBoth entities named with registration numbers, the Georgian company verifiably active at the published Tbilisi address, and the firm proactively distinguishes itself from the FCA-warned lookalike; beneficial ownership is not disclosed.
Withdrawals & conduct
4/10 · ModerateOne specific, checkable report of a crypto deposit held under an internal anti-money-laundering flag, plus scattered service-quality gripes about slow support; no pattern of refused withdrawals and no advance-fee demands.
Reputation
5/10 · ModerateA single Trustpilot review after three and a half years against claimed customer numbers in the tens of thousands, with most other coverage coming from commercially interested rebate sites; no warning-list hit anywhere.
Website claims
6/10 · HighPresents a bottom-tier Comoros registration as being regulated and certified, treats self-declared Georgian activity codes as entitlement to run a brokerage, and publishes customer and volume figures nothing supports; the founding year, however, is honest.
Operational history
4/10 · ModerateAround three and a half years of verified history, the shorter of a domain registered February 2023 and a Georgian company from 2022, with the advertised founding year matching the record.

Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
We rate MetaGold high risk at 51 percent. The company is real and unusually open about its paperwork, but the protection standing behind a client's money is thin, and very little of its trading record can be checked by anyone outside the firm.
- The company exists and the details line up. Georgia's public company register lists METAGOLD LLC under identification number 404651248 as an active limited liability company. The Tbilisi address there matches the one printed on the website and on the broker's Trustpilot profile.
- The only brokerage licence sits near the bottom of the scale. Forex Trading Licence BFX2025136 is held by METAGOLD LTD and has run since 14 November 2025. It is issued on Mwali, an autonomous island of the Comoros, by a registrar that is not a functioning financial supervisor. There is no compensation scheme, no ombudsman and no realistic enforcement if client money goes missing.
- In Georgia the firm has a company registration, not a financial licence. The site points to economic activity codes K.66.12.0 and K.66.19.0 as its entitlement to offer brokerage services. Those codes record what a company says it does. They are not permission from a financial regulator. The National Bank of Georgia licenses and supervises brokerage companies under Georgian securities law, and MetaGold names no such licence.
- The licence is its own, not borrowed. The licence record names METAGOLD LTD and the website fxmetagold.com, the same site we investigated, and marks the licence as exclusive to this brand. This is not a clone wearing another firm's credentials, which is the single most common failure at this end of the market.
- No regulator has warned about this broker. The FCA warning that fills search results for this name concerns MetaGold Capital, a separate UK company, number 14010343, operating metagoldcapital.com from a London mail-handling address with Indian contact numbers. Different company, different website, and we found nothing linking the two.
- The public trail is very thin. After more than three years of trading, the domain carries a single Trustpilot review, set against advertised figures of 40,000 customers and 35 million executed orders. Neither number can be verified, and a real client base of that size normally leaves a much broader trace.
- One trader reports money held. A ForexPeaceArmy thread describes a deposit of 246.49 USDT on the Polygon network made on 23 June 2026 and held under an internal flag reading AML Risk 100 percent, with identity and source-of-funds documents supplied and no specific explanation given in return. That is one report, not a pattern, and we weight it accordingly.
- The marketing runs ahead of the substance. The homepage is headed Certified, Trusted, Regulated and the page title calls the firm a licensed brokerage, while the section beneath places technology and liquidity providers alongside the registrar's emblem. A Comoros registration does not make a broker regulated in any sense a client would recognise.
Evidence ledger
Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1Georgia's public company register returns METAGOLD LLC for identification number 404651248, recorded as a limited liability company with status active. The operating entity is real and in good standing.
E2The broker publishes its regulatory structure in detail: METAGOLD LTD in Mwali, Comoros, registration HT01025110, holding Forex Trading Licence BFX2025136, alongside METAGOLD LLC in Georgia under identification number 404651248.
ModerateMetaGold regulation pageE3Licence BFX2025136 is confirmed on record as in force from 14 November 2025, with the licensed entity shown as METAGOLD LTD and the associated website as fxmetagold.com, marked exclusive to this brand. The credentials belong to this operation rather than to another firm, so the clone test passes. The Mwali registrar does not publish retrievable verification pages, so the confirmation rests on the licence record rather than the issuer's own site.
ModerateLicence record held by a third-party broker directoryE4The Mwali International Services Authority is an island registrar rather than a functioning financial supervisor, and its brokerage list carries no compensation scheme, complaints body or supervisory apparatus. A licence from it gives a client no practical protection.
E5The regulation page cites Georgian economic activity codes K.66.12.0 and K.66.19.0 as the basis on which the company is legally entitled to offer brokerage services including online currency trading. Activity codes record a company's declared business; they are not authorisation from a financial regulator, and the broker names no licence from the National Bank of Georgia, which licenses and supervises brokerage companies.
ModerateMetaGold regulation pageE6The FCA warning that appears in searches for this brand names METAGOLD CAPITAL, website www.metagoldcapital.com, email support@metagoldcapital.uk and Indian telephone numbers, published 4 May 2022. It names a different website and a different company from the broker under review, so it is not a warning against this operation.
E7A search of an aggregated regulator warning and alert dataset returns no matching entity for MetaGold in any jurisdiction, consistent with our own sweep finding no warning naming fxmetagold.com or METAGOLD LLC.
E8Domain records show fxmetagold.com was registered on 20 February 2023 through GoDaddy, with the registration paid through to 2035. Combined with a Georgian company dating from 2022, this gives roughly three and a half years of operating history and matches the founding year the broker advertises.
E9The About page states that MetaGold was founded in 2022, consistent with the Georgian company registration and the February 2023 domain. There is no inflated claim of a longer track record, which is the usual pattern at this end of the market.
ModerateMetaGold About pageE10A trader reports a deposit of 246.49 USDT on the Polygon network made on 23 June 2026 that was held under an internal flag reading AML Risk 100 percent. The account holder states they supplied an AML and KYC form, passport, bank statement and blockchain transaction evidence, and received generic replies without a specific reason. The report was unresolved when posted.
ModerateForexPeaceArmy complaint threadE11The per-domain Trustpilot page for fxmetagold.com shows a profile claimed in July 2025 carrying a single review, rated five stars and posted in September 2026, against the 40,000 customers and 35 million executed orders advertised on the broker's own About page. The contact address on the profile matches the Tbilisi address on the company register.
ModerateTrustpilotE12The broker publishes a transparency statement setting out both registration numbers, both jurisdictions and both websites, and describes the FCA warning against the similarly named MetaGold Capital rather than concealing it. Voluntarily directing readers to a regulator's warning page runs against the pattern of a deceptive operation.
ModerateMetaGold transparency statementE13Deposits and withdrawals run over bank transfer in several currencies including Iranian rial, cryptocurrency, Perfect Money and Visa or Mastercard, with the published rule that funds return by the route they arrived and that full identity verification is required. A broker offering card and bank rails rather than a crypto-only cashier is a materially better risk on this measure.
E14The published withdrawal rules require separate technical team review and approval for withdrawals from promotional, competition or gift accounts, while every advertised account type offers a bonus. Bonus conditions that gate access to funds are a recurring source of disputes.
E15The homepage is headed Certified, Trusted, Regulated and the page title describes a licensed brokerage, with technology and liquidity provider emblems displayed beside the registrar's. Those providers are not regulators, and a Comoros registration does not make the firm regulated in any sense a retail client would understand.
E16The Base Invest product is described as spot commodity exposure tracking world prices, with an optional loan of up to 70 percent against the holding. It contains no guaranteed return, fixed yield or risk-free language, which is the signature of an investment scheme rather than a brokerage product.
E17The page presented as a rebranding is a visual and structural redesign of the same brand on the same domain, with no former trading name, predecessor company or earlier website disclosed or implied. There is no sign of a rename used to shed an earlier history.
The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
The case in MetaGold's favour, stated as fairly as we can put it:
- It does not hide behind a shell. Both entities are named with their registration numbers, the Georgian company is verifiably active, and the registered address is published and consistent across every source we checked.
- The licence it advertises is genuinely its own and genuinely in force. A large share of brokers at this end of the market quote numbers belonging to somebody else. This one does not, and that distinction matters a great deal.
- It volunteered the awkward fact. The site carries its own page separating itself from MetaGold Capital and describes the FCA warning against that firm. Operations with something to hide do not usually walk readers towards a regulator's warning page.
- There is a real trading operation behind the brand, including a MetaTrader 5 licence and a live trading server, rather than a home-made web terminal of the kind fake brokers run.
- Money moves by several routes: bank transfer, Visa and Mastercard, Perfect Money and cryptocurrency, with the published rule that funds return the way they arrived. A crypto-only cashier is the pattern that worries us, and this is not one.
- The advertised founding year of 2022 matches the company registration and sits sensibly beside a domain registered in February 2023. Firms inventing a history normally claim far more than they can evidence.
- Its Base Invest product describes commodity exposure at spot prices and promises no fixed, guaranteed or risk-free return.
- Holding a crypto deposit that trips an anti-money-laundering screen is something scrupulous brokers also do, and tainted stablecoin transfers are a real problem. The single complaint we found is consistent with a genuine compliance hold as much as with a bad outcome.
- Serving clients in Iran largely rules out a tier-one licence for commercial and sanctions reasons, so an offshore structure here is not by itself evidence of bad intent.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
Concrete things that would move this rating, in either direction:
- Lower risk: a licence from a regulator that genuinely supervises, such as CySEC, the FSCA or the FCA, held by the entity that actually takes client deposits.
- Lower risk: authorisation from the National Bank of Georgia for the Georgian company, which would replace the activity-code argument with real permission to conduct brokerage.
- Lower risk: a visible body of independent reviews accumulated over time, including traders confirming that withdrawals of meaningful size actually arrive.
- Lower risk: the Mwali registrar publishing a retrievable public record for licence BFX2025136 that any client can open and read.
- Lower risk: evidence of segregated client accounts at a named bank, rather than a statement of policy.
- Higher risk: any regulator adding fxmetagold.com or METAGOLD LLC to a warning or alert list.
- Higher risk: further traders describing the same failure, especially withdrawals refused or balances removed, clustered in time and specific enough to check.
- Higher risk: any demand for an extra payment, whether called a tax, fee, insurance or verification charge, before funds are released. That pattern alone would change our conclusion.
- Higher risk: the MISA licence lapsing or being withdrawn while the site continues to advertise it.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is MetaGold a scam?
We found no evidence that MetaGold is a scam. The company behind it is real and registered, its licence is genuine and belongs to it, and no regulator has warned about the website. We still rate it high risk at 51 percent, because the only licence is a bottom-tier Comoros registration and there is very little independent trading history to judge it on.
Is MetaGold a fraud?
No, not on the evidence available. There is no regulator warning naming fxmetagold.com, no enforcement action and no fraud-related court record against METAGOLD LLC of Georgia. The FCA warning people find when searching this name is about MetaGold Capital, a different UK company. We assess the risk as elevated because of weak oversight, not because misconduct has been established.
Is MetaGold regulated?
Only in the weakest sense. METAGOLD LTD holds Forex Trading Licence BFX2025136 from the Mwali International Services Authority in the Comoros, in force since 14 November 2025. That is a bottom-tier offshore registration. The Georgian company that runs the website holds a company registration, not a financial licence.
What is a MISA licence actually worth?
Very little in practical terms. Mwali is an autonomous island of the Comoros and its registrar is not a functioning financial supervisor in the way the FCA or ASIC are. There is no compensation scheme, no ombudsman and no realistic prospect of enforcement on a client's behalf. Treat it as evidence that the broker paid for a registration, not as investor protection.
Is MetaGold the same company as MetaGold Capital, which the FCA warned about?
No. The FCA warning published on 4 May 2022 names MetaGold Capital at metagoldcapital.com, a UK company numbered 14010343 registered to a London mail-handling address and using Indian telephone numbers. This broker is METAGOLD LLC of Tbilisi, Georgia, trading at fxmetagold.com. We found nothing connecting the two operations.
Can I withdraw my money from MetaGold?
Most indications are that withdrawals function, but we cannot confirm it at scale because the independent record is so thin. Withdrawals require completed identity verification and must return by the same route the deposit arrived. One trader has publicly reported a 246.49 USDT deposit held under an internal anti-money-laundering flag in June 2026 that was unresolved when posted.
Is my money protected if MetaGold fails?
No. A Comoros registration carries no deposit protection, no compensation scheme and no ombudsman. The broker states that client funds are held separately from company accounts, but that is its own policy statement rather than something a supervisor verifies. If the firm failed, you would be relying on its own conduct and on courts in Georgia or the Comoros.
Who owns and operates MetaGold?
The website is operated by METAGOLD LLC, registered in Georgia under identification number 404651248 at 11 Victor Naneishvili Street, Flat 3, Isani district, Tbilisi. The brokerage licence is held by a second company, METAGOLD LTD, registered in Mwali, Comoros under number HT01025110. The individual owners and beneficial shareholders are not published on the website.
How old is MetaGold?
About three and a half years of real operating history. The Georgian company dates from 2022 and the main domain, fxmetagold.com, was registered on 20 February 2023. The site says the firm was founded in 2022, which matches those records. Unlike many brokers, it is not claiming a longer history than it can show.
Is MetaGold a clone of another broker?
No. We ran the clone test, which is where most brokers at this level fail. The licence record names METAGOLD LTD as the holder and fxmetagold.com as the associated website, and marks the licence as exclusive to this brand. The credentials it advertises belong to it rather than to another company.
What do other traders say about MetaGold?
Remarkably little, which is itself worth noting. Trustpilot carries a single review for the domain, a five-star comment posted in September 2026. A ForexPeaceArmy thread describes a blocked crypto deposit. Persian-language broker sites mention slow support responses and mixed views on spreads, but no documented pattern of fraud.
Why does a broker advertising 40,000 customers have almost no reviews?
That gap is one of the reasons we rate the broker high risk. A firm with tens of thousands of active clients normally generates a substantial public trail across review sites and forums. We cannot verify the customer and order figures on the About page, and no independent source supports them.
Does MetaGold accept clients from Iran?
Yes. The broker accepts deposits in Iranian rial, runs Persian-language social accounts and Persian and Arabic versions of its site. It states that it does not serve residents of the United States or North Korea. Clients in heavily sanctioned countries have very limited recourse if a dispute arises, which raises the practical risk.
What should I check before depositing with MetaGold?
Complete identity verification first, read the bonus terms, and confirm which entity your client agreement names, since the Georgian company and the Comoros company are not the same. Then deposit a small sum and withdraw it in full before committing more. Keep transaction IDs and dates for everything.
What do I do if I cannot withdraw from MetaGold?
Ask support in writing for the specific reason and the exact documents needed, and escalate to the compliance address published on the site, keeping every reference number. If you are asked to pay a tax, fee or insurance charge to release your balance, do not pay it, as that is a classic advance-fee pattern. If you paid by card, ask your bank about a chargeback quickly, since time limits apply.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
If you are considering MetaGold, or already have money with it:
- Treat it as an offshore broker, because that is exactly what it is. Risk only what you could afford to lose in full, and do not use it to hold savings.
- Test the exit before you commit. Deposit a small amount, trade briefly, then withdraw all of it and confirm the money lands before sending more.
- Prefer a payment route you can trace and potentially dispute. Card payments leave you in a better position than crypto transfers, which are final once sent.
- Finish identity verification before you deposit, not at the moment you want to withdraw. Full verification is mandatory for withdrawals, and incomplete paperwork is the commonest cause of a hold.
- Be careful with bonuses. Under the published rules, withdrawals from promotional, competition and gift accounts need separate approval from the broker's technical team.
- Keep your own records: transaction IDs, dates, amounts, and every support ticket. The one substantive complaint we found turned entirely on that kind of detail.
- If your funds are held, ask in writing for the specific reason and the exact documents required, and escalate to the published compliance address. If anyone asks you to pay a fee or tax to release your own balance, stop and pay nothing.
- Check the name carefully before you deal with anyone. MetaGold Capital at metagoldcapital.com is a different firm carrying an FCA warning, and the two should never be treated as interchangeable.
This is an independent assessment of risk, not a legal ruling. Scores and verdicts follow the Wikilix broker-safety methodology and can change as new evidence appears. Review scores are treated with caution when a broker’s reviews look manipulated. Last reviewed September 15, 2026.
