Summary of the broker
Mount Nico Broker Overview
Mount Nico is the trading brand of Mount Nico Corp Limited, a private company incorporated in Cyprus on 12 June 2012 under registration number HE307717 and based at Poreias 2, 3011 Limassol. The company held Cyprus Investment Firm authorisation numbered 226/14 and offered contracts for difference on currencies, indices, commodities, shares and cryptocurrencies through MetaTrader 4 under its eXcentral and NicoFX brands. A client notice published on its own websites states that it has renounced that authorisation and ceased offering its investment services and activities, that all positions have been closed and that access to trading accounts has been terminated.
Mount Nico Regulation and License
The company names one financial authority. Mount Nico Corp Limited was authorised by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission as a Cyprus Investment Firm under licence number 226/14, with an effective date of 7 February 2014. The company publishes the scope of that authorisation as execution of orders on behalf of clients, portfolio management, safekeeping and administration of financial instruments including custodianship, the granting of credits or loans connected to transactions in financial instruments, and foreign exchange services connected to the provision of investment services. Its registrations page lists cross-border registrations with the competent authorities of twenty-eight European Economic Area jurisdictions, quoting numbers for France (75131), Spain (3876), Italy (4101), Hungary (K8801135), Norway (FT00086141) and Romania (PJM01FISMCYP1911), and states that it may also offer services in Switzerland. Those are notifications of the Cyprus licence passported into each market, not separate licences.
The decisive fact is the company's own client notice, which states that Mount Nico Corp Limited has renounced its licence. This review did not confirm the licence's current standing on the authority's own register, so the authorisation is recorded as held once and no longer in force. The company publishes its own regulatory licence document, and its About text links the authority's entity page at cysec.gov.cy.
Is Mount Nico Regulated?
No. On the company's own account it is not: its client notice states that it has renounced its Cyprus Investment Firm authorisation and stopped providing investment services. That answer matters because the rest of both websites has not been updated to match it and still describes the company as authorised and regulated under licence 226/14.
Mount Nico Corp Limited
Mount Nico Corp Limited is the single legal entity behind three consumer brands: Mount Nico at mtnico.com, eXcentral at excentral.com and NicoFX at nicofx.com. The footer of excentral.com states that the company owns and operates the eXcentral brand. The Cyprus Registrar of Companies records three earlier registered names against the same company number: Nico Financial NF Limited, Speed Capital Markets SCM Limited and TF Global Markets Ltd. The company is still shown as registered, with two named directors and a company secretary on record, and it holds an active Legal Entity Identifier at the same Limassol address.
Is Mount Nico Safe?
A client cannot treat Mount Nico as a safe place to put money, because no financial authorisation stands behind it and there is no trading service left to buy. The corporate side is sound: the entity is real, registered, findable, and consistent with the address it publishes. What is missing is the supervision. The protections the company used to cite, including Investor Compensation Fund cover and the client money rules of the Cyprus framework, attach to an authorised firm, and the company says it is no longer one. Anyone still holding a balance is directed to a single email address for the final processing of funds.
Mount Nico Account Types
Five tiers are published under the eXcentral brand, separated mainly by minimum deposit and spread:
- Classic: 250 dollars or euros, indicative EUR/USD spread 2.5 pips.
- Silver: 2,500 dollars or euros, at the same 2.5 pip indicative spread as Classic.
- Gold: 25,000 dollars or euros, indicative EUR/USD spread 1.8 pips, with a swaps discount period.
- VIP: minimum deposit described only as discretionary, indicative EUR/USD spread 0.9 pips.
- VIP Diamond: open to professional clients only, at the same 0.9 pip indicative spread and with larger maximum trade sizes.
Every tier trades the full instrument range, with a minimum trade size of 0.01 lots, a margin call at 100 percent and a stop out at 50 percent for retail clients and 20 percent for professional clients. The withdrawal help pages refer instead to Basic, Gold, Platinum and VIP tiers, so the published account naming is not internally consistent.
Mount Nico Spreads, Commissions and Fees
Pricing is spread only. No trading commission appears on the account comparison, and the company states that no deposit fee is charged to the client. Indicative EUR/USD spreads run from 2.5 pips on the entry tiers down to 0.9 pips on the two VIP tiers, with GBP/USD and USD/JPY quoted at 2.8 falling to 1.4, and crude oil at 0.10 dollars falling to 0.06. Two charges do apply: a monthly inactivity fee after one month without a deposit, withdrawal or trade, and withdrawal charges beyond a free allowance that differs by tier, with the detail held in a separate fees document. The company also discloses that 88.89 percent of its retail investor accounts lost money trading contracts for difference, a figure given as 84.19 percent on other pages of the same site.
Mount Nico Leverage
Retail clients are capped at 1:30 and professional clients are offered up to 1:400. Professional status requires significant trading volume over the past year, relevant professional experience and a financial instrument portfolio above 500,000 euros.
Mount Nico Trading Platforms
MetaTrader 4 is the only platform, offered as a Windows desktop client, a browser terminal and iOS and Android apps, with live and demo servers named eXcentral-MAIN Live and eXcentral-Demo. There is no MetaTrader 5 and no proprietary platform. The client portal that the brand site links to for logging in and opening a live account does not load.
Mount Nico Deposits and Withdrawals
Deposits are accepted by credit or debit card, by e-wallet including Skrill and Neteller, and by wire transfer, with no deposit fee charged by the company. Withdrawal requests are processed within 24 business hours and the funds may then take up to five business days to arrive. There is no minimum withdrawal to cards, Skrill or Neteller, while wire withdrawals start at 100 euros, 120 dollars, 80 pounds, 100 Swiss francs or 7,000 roubles. Money is returned only to the source it came from and only up to the amount deposited, and trading profits are paid separately to a bank account or an e-wallet. Clients left with a balance after the wind-down are told to write to info@excentral-eu.com.
Mount Nico Support
Support runs through a Cyprus telephone number, +357 25 008133, and by email. Complaints are handled only through the company's own complaint form, and the company states that it may not accept a complaint by any other means; it commits to acknowledging a complaint within five days and answering within two months, with escalation to the Financial Ombudsman of the Republic of Cyprus. The brand site publishes English, Czech, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Portuguese.
Mount Nico Pros and Cons
Strengths
- A genuine, traceable Cyprus legal entity with a registration number, a matching registered office and named directors on the public register.
- A real Cyprus Investment Firm authorisation held since 2014 and passported across the European Economic Area, rather than an offshore registration.
- Clearly published costs on the tiers it did offer, with no trading commission and no deposit fee.
Limitations
- No financial authorisation is in force, on the company's own statement, so no supervision and no investor compensation cover stands behind the service.
- Both websites still describe the company as authorised and regulated under licence 226/14, contradicting the notice published on the same pages.
- Accounts are closed and the login portal does not work, while the brand site goes on advertising live account opening.
- Account tier names and the disclosed loss percentage differ between pages, and the risk disclosure document that the corporate site's footer links to is not published at that address.
Mount Nico Review and Assessment
Mount Nico is best understood as a wound-down Cyprus broker rather than a broker a reader can use. The company behind it is real and its licence was real, which puts it in a different category from an offshore shell or a cloned brand, but the company itself says the authorisation is gone and the trading service with it. The practical risk is not that a deposit made today would be unprotected; it is that a website still advertising a live account and a CySEC licence invites a deposit that cannot be made safely, and that a lapsed brand with a real licence number is attractive material for reuse. Anyone with money left at the firm should pursue it through the published contact route and the Cyprus Financial Ombudsman, and no one should open a new account here.

How we know
- 1United Kingdom (GB): the company's own registrations section and the regional-restrictions block repeated in the footer of every page of mtnico.com and excentral.com state that Mount Nico Corp Limited does not provide regulated financial services to residents of the United Kingdom.
- 2Netherlands (NL): the registrations section of mtnico.com carries the footnote that the Company does not offer its services to new clients residing in the Netherlands, and excentral.com shows a standing site banner that new registrations from the Netherlands are no longer accepted.
- 3Portugal (PT): a standing notice on mtnico.com states that the Company no longer accepts new registrations from Portugal, repeated as a site banner on excentral.com. Portugal is nevertheless still one of the languages the brand site publishes.
- 4Belgium (BE): the regional-restrictions block on the inner pages of excentral.com states that the company offers services within the European Economic Area excluding Belgium, and Switzerland.
- 5United States (US): the regulations FAQ on excentral.com states plainly that US residents are not accepted as clients.
- 6US dependent territories (PR, GU, VI, AS, MP): inferred from the named block on the United States, whose residents are US persons. Neither site names these territories individually.
- 7No whitelist is recorded. The registrations section of mtnico.com names twenty-eight European Economic Area jurisdictions plus Switzerland in which the company says it is registered with the competent authority, including cross-border registration numbers for France, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Romania and Spain, but that is a statement of where the passported authorisation was notified rather than a current onboarding list. The company's own client notice states that it has renounced its licence, ceased offering investment services, closed all positions and terminated access to trading accounts, so no jurisdiction is currently being onboarded.
- 8The scope wording within the European Economic Area and Switzerland is a category rather than a list of countries, so no codes were inferred from it beyond the jurisdictions the pages name individually.
- 9Location check, terms and client agreement: mtnico.com publishes no terms page (/terms, /terms.php, /legal, /client-agreement and /documents all return not found, including under an /en/ prefix). The legal index at excentral.com/en/legal/ was reached and lists a Client Agreement, AML Policy and Withdrawal Policy as embedded documents; the regional-restrictions block appears on that page.
- 10Location check, dedicated countries page: the registrations section at mtnico.com/index.php#register was reached and holds the jurisdiction list and the exclusions. excentral.com has no separate countries page; its restrictions sit in the footer block and the site banners.
- 11Location check, signup country list: mtnico.com has no registration form at all, only a complaint form with a free-text nationality field. The live-account link on excentral.com leads to portal.excentral.com/login, which returns an error page rather than a registration form on two independent attempts, so no enforced country list could be read.
- 12Location check, funding and policy pages: the deposit, withdrawal and fees help-centre pages on excentral.com were reached and carry no jurisdiction restrictions; the regulations help-centre page was reached and carries the United States exclusion.
- 13Location check, regulator filings: not opened in this run. A filing states permitted rather than blocked jurisdictions and could not by itself confirm a block.
- 14Location check, footer disclaimer and language variants: the regional-restrictions footer block was read on both sites. The brand site publishes English, Czech, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Portuguese variants, which indicates the markets deliberately served.
