Regulation
7/10 · HighHeld a genuine tier-2 CySEC licence (217/13) for over a decade, so not fabricated or a clone, but it is now voluntarily renounced and withdrawn, leaving no current protection, and CySEC has no restitution powers.
Identity & transparency
3/10 · LowThe operating entity is real and fully traceable: OBR Investments Limited, HE303684, with a verifiable Limassol address and matching registry and register records.
Withdrawals & conduct
8/10 · CriticalSustained fund-integrity pattern across countries and years: blocked or unpaid withdrawals, alleged fake platform and bonus-lock, with specific large amounts. Not a full 9-10 because there is no regulator or court confirmation and some reviews are recovery-scam plants.
Reputation
8/10 · CriticalTrustpilot 1.3 out of 5 across 66 reviews with 76 percent one-star, echoed by scam-review sites and consumer-fraud lawyers; overwhelmingly negative on multiple platforms.
Website claims
4/10 · ModerateIts headline regulatory claim (CySEC 217/13) and its 2012 founding were true, so no fabricated credentials; the concern is conduct alleged in reviews rather than false website claims.
Operational history
2/10 · LowVerified long history: company and domain both date to 2012, roughly fourteen years, confirmed by registry and RDAP rather than a marketing claim.

Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
We rate OBRinvest high risk, and unsafe to use, for these reasons.
- The firm is defunct. Its website no longer loads, and CySEC's own register shows the CIF 217/13 licence as voluntarily renounced and withdrawn on 9 February 2026. The firm was removed from the Investor Compensation Fund in June 2026.
- The complaint record is heavy and consistent. Trustpilot shows 1.3 out of 5 across 66 reviews, 76 percent of them one-star. The same failure repeats across users from several countries between 2021 and 2026: money requested for withdrawal is stalled or never returned, and several users describe a platform they say never traded the real market.
- Users report a bonus trap, where credited bonuses are used as a reason to demand more activity or payment before a withdrawal is allowed, and describe relentless phone pressure from account managers.
- The amounts are specific and large, including one user reporting 15,250 euro lost and another reporting losses above 45,000 pounds.
- The licence it did hold offered limited practical protection. As one user quoted from the firm's own disclosure, CySEC does not have restitution powers and does not investigate individual complaints.
We stop short of calling it a confirmed scam. The licence was genuine tier-2 EU regulation held for over a decade, the exit was a controlled voluntary surrender with no enforcement or fraud finding, and prior clients keep their compensation rights for business done while the firm was a fund member. The strongest adverse evidence is user complaints rather than a regulator ruling, which is why this sits at high risk rather than confirmed fraud.

E1CySEC's own register lists OBR Investments Ltd, CIF 217/13, under Former Investment Firms with status Voluntary Renunciation; the licence was genuine tier-2 EU regulation now withdrawn.
StrongCySEC registerE2Regulatory reporting confirms CySEC withdrew CIF 217/13 on 9 February 2026 after the firm expressly renounced it, with no enforcement action, fines or breach findings cited.
ModerateFinanceFeedsE3OBR Investments Ltd was removed from the Investor Compensation Fund on 17 June 2026 as an administrative consequence of the voluntary renunciation; prior clients keep compensation rights for earlier business.
ModerateLeapRateE4Cyprus company registry shows OBR Investments Limited, HE303684, incorporated 27 March 2012, status Active, registered in Limassol; a real, traceable entity matching the CySEC record.
StrongCyprus company registryE5Domain obrinvest.com was registered on 25 October 2012 (registrar GoDaddy), consistent with the firm's claimed long history rather than a fresh operation.
ModerateRDAP (Verisign)E6Trustpilot shows a 1.3 out of 5 score across 66 reviews, 76 percent one-star, with a repeated fund-integrity pattern: withdrawals stalled or never paid, a platform users say never traded real markets, bonus traps, and cold-call harassment; reported losses include 15,250 euro and over 45,000 pounds.
StrongTrustpilotE7The broker website no longer resolves, confirming the operation has wound down and is not accepting clients.
ModerateLive site checkE8Some one-star reviews use near-identical copy-paste text and steer readers to third-party recovery agents, a recovery-scam pattern that was discounted rather than counted as genuine complaints.

The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
The fairest case for OBRinvest, stated honestly.
- It was a genuine Cyprus Investment Firm, authorised by CySEC under licence 217/13 for roughly thirteen years. That is real EU supervision, not a fake badge or a copied licence number.
- The company is real and traceable. OBR Investments Limited is registered in Cyprus as HE303684 with a verifiable Limassol address, incorporated in 2012, matching the age it advertised.
- The exit was orderly. CySEC recorded a voluntary renunciation, not a revocation for misconduct, and cited no fines, breaches or court action. Clients keep their Investor Compensation Fund rights for business conducted before membership lapsed.
- Not every review is negative. A minority describe small deposits withdrawn without issue within a few days, and some one-star reviews are clearly recovery-scam bait using copy-paste text and third-party recovery contacts, which we discounted.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
What would move this verdict up or down.
- Toward confirmed scam: a regulator warning or enforcement finding naming OBRinvest or OBR Investments Limited for fraud, or court or chargeback records confirming that client funds were withheld, or clear proof the platform showed fabricated prices.
- Toward lower risk: the firm is defunct, so this is largely academic, but evidence that outstanding withdrawals were settled during the wind-down and that Investor Compensation Fund claims were paid would reduce the risk rating.
- Housekeeping: our own record should be updated to show the licence as withdrawn and the founding year as 2012.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is OBRinvest a scam?
We rate it high risk and unsafe to use, but not a proven scam. It held a genuine CySEC licence for over a decade and left the market through a voluntary, controlled surrender with no regulator fraud finding. However, it carries a strong record of blocked-withdrawal complaints and is now defunct.
Is OBRinvest regulated?
Not any more. It held CySEC licence 217/13, a genuine tier-2 EU licence, but CySEC withdrew it on 9 February 2026 after the company voluntarily renounced it. The firm is no longer authorised to provide investment services.
Can I still open an account or trade with OBRinvest?
No. The website no longer loads and the firm is not accepting clients. Do not send it any money.
Can I withdraw my money from OBRinvest?
The firm is defunct and its site is offline, so normal withdrawals are not possible. If you have a balance, contact CySEC about the wind-down and about a possible Investor Compensation Fund claim for business done while the firm was a member.
Is my money safe with OBRinvest?
No. Many users reported being unable to withdraw funds, and the firm has shut down. Client protection through the Investor Compensation Fund is limited and applies only to eligible claims for the period the firm was a member.
Who owns OBRinvest?
OBRinvest is the brand of OBR Investments Limited, a Cyprus company registered as HE303684 in Limassol, incorporated in 2012.
How old is OBRinvest?
The company was incorporated in March 2012 and the domain was registered in October 2012, so it operated for roughly fourteen years before winding down in 2024 to 2026.
What is a CySEC licence and how much does it protect me?
CySEC is Cyprus's financial regulator and its CIF licence is a real EU tier-2 authorisation. It offers meaningful oversight, but CySEC has stated it does not have restitution powers and does not investigate individual complaints, so it cannot force a firm to return your money.
Is OBRinvest a clone of another broker?
No. It used its own genuine company and its own CySEC licence number. This is not a case of impersonating another regulated firm.
Why does OBRinvest have so many bad reviews?
The dominant theme is fund access: users report withdrawals that were stalled or never paid, a platform some say did not trade real markets, bonus conditions used to block payouts, and aggressive phone pressure from account managers.
What were the main complaints about OBRinvest?
Blocked or ignored withdrawal requests, alleged fake trading results, pressure to deposit more, and being asked to clear bonus conditions before funds were released. Reported losses ranged from a few hundred to tens of thousands of euros or pounds.
I was scammed by OBRinvest. What should I do, and should I use a recovery service?
Report it to your bank or card provider and to your national regulator, and contact CySEC about the wind-down. Do not pay any upfront fee to a fund-recovery service. Several reviews try to funnel victims to such agents, which is a common follow-up scam.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
What to do if you are dealing with OBRinvest.
- Do not send new money. The website is offline, the firm is not authorised any more, and it is no longer accepting clients.
- If you have an open balance, contact CySEC and ask about the wind-down and any Investor Compensation Fund claim, since your rights for business done while the firm was a member are preserved.
- Ignore anyone who contacts you promising to recover your funds for an upfront fee. Several reviews steer victims to such recovery agents, which is a common second scam.
- If you were pressured to deposit or could not withdraw, report it to your bank or card provider and to your national financial regulator.
