Is Olymptrade a scam?

High risk (unverified)MEDIUM confidence
Offshore regulatory arbitrage: unauthorised cross-border selling

Olymptrade is a high-risk broker rather than a proven scam: Vanuatu-licensed, but named as unauthorised by regulators in Malaysia, India and Brazil.

  • Aollikus Limited holds an active Vanuatu (VFSC) dealer licence, company number 40131. It is an offshore licence with little protection for clients.
  • Brazil's CVM fined the operator Saledo Global LLC R$680,000 in July 2024, after a 2019 stop order. Malaysia's and India's regulators list olymptrade.com as unauthorised.
  • Specific complaints describe accounts frozen or closed with money inside. The terms let the company keep funds at its own discretion after a breach.
  • We found no regulator or court finding of fraud against its companies, and many clients report withdrawals that work.

Regulation

7/10 · High

Holds a genuine but offshore Vanuatu dealer licence, while regulators in Malaysia, India and Brazil formally name it as unauthorised and Brazil's CVM fined its operator R$680,000 in 2024.

Identity & transparency

4/10 · Moderate

Entities, numbers and addresses are disclosed and the licence holder matches the register, but the business spans four jurisdictions, has changed operators, prints a wrong Cyprus company number and does not name its owners.

Withdrawals & conduct

7/10 · High

Specific reports on three platforms of accounts frozen or closed with balances inside, backed by terms that allow funds to be withheld, offset by many working withdrawals and a company that answers complaints.

Reputation

7/10 · High

Trustpilot 2.2 from 1,299 reviews, Forex Peace Army 2.6 with a notice of fake positive reviews in 2018 to 2021, and warnings in three countries, against a 4.5 Google Play rating.

Website claims

7/10 · High

The licence claim is true but offshore; the deposit insurance wording overstates a private compensation fund, and the site calls both companies fully licensed when only one licence exists.

Licences the broker publishes

Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC)

VerifiedTier 3 (offshore)Offshore
An offshore Financial Dealers Licence, classes A, B and C, held by Aollikus Limited, company number 40131. Olymptrade links only its own copy of the certificate, not the register; the entry appears on the VFSC licensee list. The licence is real but gives low protection, and it does not authorise selling in Malaysia, India or Brazil.
Protection: Low: no investor compensation scheme; disputes go to the company and then to the private Financial Commission, capped at €20,000.Official register

The Financial Commission (FinaCom)

VerifiedNot a forex licenceLimited relevance
A private external dispute-resolution membership body, not a government regulator. Olymptrade says it joined on 22 February 2016; the Commission's fund pays up to €20,000 on claims it upholds.
Protection: Limited: a dispute route and capped compensation, with no supervision of client money.

Financial Markets Association in Vanuatu

UnverifiedNot a forex licence
An industry association for holders of Vanuatu dealer licences, described by Olymptrade as self-regulatory. It is not a government regulator.
Protection: None beyond the VFSC licence itself.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (Saledo Global LLC)

VerifiedNot a forex licenceLimited relevance
A limited liability company registration, number 227 LLC 2019. The site says the companies are fully licensed, but we found no financial licence for Saledo Global LLC, and Saint Vincent's FSA publishes no searchable list of licensed virtual-asset businesses.
Protection: None: a company registration gives clients no regulatory protection.

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

Olymptrade is a real, licensed offshore business. But regulators in three countries have formally said it may not serve their residents, it keeps selling into those markets, and its terms and complaint record put client money at real risk.

  • Not a clone. The VFSC licensee list shows Aollikus Limited, company number 40131, with an active licence dated 6 January 2023. That matches the company and number in Olymptrade's footer and service agreement. In Brazil, Saledo Global LLC told the CVM it owns the Olymp Trade platform and olymptrade.com.
  • Three regulators name it as unauthorised. Securities Commission Malaysia has listed Olymp Trade since 2018, naming olymptrade.com and official.olymptrade-my.com. The Reserve Bank of India Alert List, updated 19 November 2025, includes Olymp Trade at olymptrade.com. Brazil's CVM issued a stop order in February 2019, and on 16 July 2024 it fined Saledo Global LLC R$680,000 after noting that the offer to Brazilian residents continued.
  • It keeps reaching those markets. olymptrade-my.com was registered in January 2021, after the Malaysian alert, and still serves the full site. Four more mirror domains were registered between September 2024 and June 2026. Indian clients describe UPI deposits on Trustpilot in 2026.
  • The terms allow money to be kept. Clause 8.5 lets the company void trades and stop service, returning or without returning the funds, for any breach of its terms. Clause 2.32 allows the account to be blocked without paying out the funds if a client holds a second account. The company's server logs take priority in any dispute, and it may choose not to keep them.
  • A recurring complaint pattern. Specific reports on Trustpilot, Forex Peace Army and Google Play describe accounts put under review or closed with balances inside, and local deposits left uncredited for weeks. Many of them give account numbers, ticket numbers and amounts.
  • Protection is overstated. The site says clients are covered by deposit insurance. But the only cover its regulation page describes is the Financial Commission's compensation of up to €20,000 when wrongdoing is proven. The footer also calls both companies fully licensed, while we found a licence only for the Vanuatu company.
  • Why this is not a scam verdict. The regulator actions concern selling without local authorisation, not theft. The brand has traded since 2014 on a very large scale, many users report withdrawals that work, and the company answers most complaints. Our six scores average about 60%. The formal regulator actions put the figure at the top of the high-risk band.
  • Company age. Neither the Vanuatu nor the Saint Vincent company's incorporation date appears on a public registry. The age figure rests on the 2014 domain and the Cyprus operations companies, the oldest registered in December 2016.

  • E1The VFSC Financial Dealers Licensee List shows Aollikus Limited, company number 40131, licence classes A, B and C, status Active, licence date 6 January 2023. The name and number match Olymptrade's footer and service agreement, so the licence belongs to this operation.

  • E2Securities Commission Malaysia's Investor Alert List names Olymp Trade / Olymp Trade Malaysia with the websites olymptrade.com and official.olymptrade-my.com, listed in 2018 for conducting unlicensed capital market activities.

  • E3The Reserve Bank of India Alert List, updated 19 November 2025, includes Olymp Trade with the website olymptrade.com among entities not authorised to deal in forex or run a forex trading platform in India. The list also names many large international brokers, so it concerns Indian authorisation rather than fraud.

  • E4Brazil's CVM ruling of 16 July 2024 (PAS 19957.005524/2022-30) fined Saledo Global LLC, referred to as Olymp Trade, R$255,000 for offering securities to Brazilian residents without registration and R$425,000 for intermediating trades without authorisation. It records a February 2019 stop order against Smartex International Ltd or Olymp Trade and notes that the offer to Brazilian residents continued afterwards.

  • E5olymptrade-my.com, the Malaysian domain family named on the SC alert list, was registered on 29 January 2021, after the 2018 alert, and still serves the full Olymptrade site with the Aollikus footer. Four more mirror domains (olymptrade-wid.com, olymptrade-kr.com, olymptrade-bpk.com, olymptrade-by.com) were registered between September 2024 and June 2026 with the same registrar and DNS host.

  • E6Trustpilot reviews from 2026 describe Indian clients depositing rupees through UPI and Google Pay, showing an Indian payment rail is offered despite the Reserve Bank of India listing.

  • E7Service Agreement Part 2, clause 8.5, lets the company void any transaction, close trades and stop service, returning or without returning the funds at its own discretion, for any breach of the terms. The same document gives the company's server logs unconditional priority in disputes and reserves the right not to keep them.

  • E8Service Agreement Part 1, clause 2.32, limits each client to one account and lets the company block the account without paying out the funds if a second one is found. Clause 1.1 names Aollikus Limited and, for digital-asset clients, Saledo Global LLC (227 LLC 2019) as the contracting companies.

  • E9Olymptrade's regulation page says clients are covered by deposit insurance, but the only cover it describes is the Financial Commission's compensation of up to €20,000 when wrongdoing is proven. Its footer says both companies are fully licensed, while we found a licence only for Aollikus Limited.

  • E10Google Play lists the Olymptrade app at 4.5 stars from about 1 million reviews and over 100 million downloads; its text says funds are insured up to €20,000 by the Financial Commission. The most helpful reviews include repeated uncredited deposits (September 2026) and a six-year user reporting smooth withdrawals but poor support.

  • E11Trustpilot shows 1,299 reviews and a TrustScore of 2.2, with 31% one-star. Recent specific complaints describe accounts left under review after verification with trading and withdrawals blocked (INR 41,500, ticket 39463497; a withdrawal stuck since 9 October 2026), a UPI deposit uncredited for 46 days, and a 293,032.73 USDT balance voided after the company cited multiple accounts and automated trading.

  • E12An archived Forex Peace Army page from February 2024 rates Olymp Trade 2.63 from 123 reviews and warns that large numbers of fake and highly suspicious positive reviews were submitted from November 2018 to December 2021. It includes reports of accounts closed with balances inside (USD 17,000 in December 2022; a USD 900 account in March 2022).

  • E13olymptrade.com was registered on 14 April 2014, matching the site's 2014 start claim, and is renewed to 2027. All six Olymptrade domains share one registrar and DNS host, consistent with a single long-running operator.

  • E14An archived copy of olymptrade.com from 30 December 2017 states the site was owned and operated by Smartex International Ltd (Seychelles, registration 144540), with operations supported by Wallfort Limited (Cyprus, HE364695).

  • E15The Cyprus companies register shows Wallfort Limited (HE 364695) registered on 30 December 2016 and dissolved after voluntary liquidation on 15 May 2022.

  • E16The Cyprus register shows Martique Limited as HE 433318, registered on 15 April 2022 and still registered. Olymptrade's pages print HE 43318, a number that belongs to a different, struck-off company, which looks like a typing error.

  • E17The Financial Commission warned on 5 April 2024 that olymptradeltd.com is a clone not affiliated with Olymp Trade, so some complaints online may concern fake sites.

  • E18The UK FCA's 2021 warning about 'Olymp Trader' concerns olymptrader.co.uk, a different domain, and is not attributed to this broker.

  • E19Olymptrade replies to 91% of negative Trustpilot reviews, typically within 48 hours. A Nigerian client's delayed deposit was credited, and in the 293,032.73 USDT case the client says the Financial Commission ruled for the broker after the client acknowledged multiple accounts and automated trading.

  • E20The CVM ruling records that in 2019 federal prosecutors and a federal court in Campinas asked the CVM for information about Smartex International Ltd for a criminal inquiry. The ruling reports no outcome.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

The strongest case for Olymptrade is that it is a long-running, licensed business that pays many clients, not a short-lived scam site.

  • Its Vanuatu dealer licence is real and active, and the licence holder matches the company named on every Olymptrade domain we checked.
  • olymptrade.com has been registered since April 2014. A December 2017 copy of the site and Cyprus registry records (Wallfort Limited, registered December 2016) show a continuous operation.
  • It belongs to the Financial Commission, which gives clients a dispute route and capped compensation. In one disputed case, the client's own Trustpilot review says the Financial Commission ruled for the company after the client acknowledged multiple accounts and automated trading.
  • It replies to 91% of negative Trustpilot reviews, usually within 48 hours, and some complaints were resolved, such as a delayed Nigerian deposit. A six-year user on Google Play reports smooth withdrawals.
  • The Indian alert list also names many large regulated brokers, so that listing is about Indian authorisation. The CVM fine is for unregistered selling, and Saledo argued that Brazilian clients approached it on their own.
  • Clones exist, including olymptradeltd.com and an 'Olymp Trader' site at olymptrader.co.uk, so some complaints elsewhere online may concern fake sites rather than this broker.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

Our view would move on concrete, checkable changes.

  • Lower risk: removal from the Malaysian and Indian alert lists, or local authorisation there; a licence from a stronger regulator.
  • Lower risk: the mirror domains for warned markets shut down and residents of those countries blocked.
  • Lower risk: terms rewritten so client deposits cannot be withheld over rule breaches, and the deposit insurance wording removed or backed by a real scheme.
  • Lower risk: a sustained fall in complaints about frozen accounts and uncredited deposits.
  • Higher risk: a regulator or court finding of fraud, the VFSC licence suspended or cancelled, demands for fees to release funds, a withdrawal suspension notice, or a sharp rise in withdrawal complaints.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

14 questions
Is Olymptrade a scam?

We rate Olymptrade high risk rather than a proven scam. It holds a real offshore licence from Vanuatu and has run olymptrade.com since 2014. But regulators in Malaysia, India and Brazil name it as unauthorised, Brazil's CVM fined its operator R$680,000 in 2024, and specific complaints describe accounts frozen or closed with money inside.

Is Olymptrade a fraud?

We found no regulator or court finding of fraud against Olymptrade's companies. The formal actions we found concern selling to residents without local authorisation. A 2024 CVM ruling notes that Brazilian federal prosecutors asked for information about the earlier operator, Smartex International Ltd, in 2019 for a criminal inquiry, but the ruling reports no outcome.

Is Olymptrade regulated?

Only offshore. Aollikus Limited, the company that provides Olymptrade's services, holds an active Financial Dealers licence from the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (company number 40131, classes A, B and C). Vanuatu has no investor compensation scheme, and the licence does not allow selling in countries such as Malaysia, India or Brazil.

Is Olymptrade legal in India?

The Reserve Bank of India lists Olymp Trade and olymptrade.com on its Alert List. That list covers entities not authorised to deal in forex under FEMA or to run a forex trading platform for Indian residents. Many large international brokers are on the same list, so it concerns Indian authorisation rather than fraud.

Is Olymptrade allowed in Malaysia?

No. Securities Commission Malaysia has listed Olymp Trade on its Investor Alert List since 2018 for unlicensed capital market activities, naming olymptrade.com and official.olymptrade-my.com. Olymptrade still runs olymptrade-my.com, a domain registered in January 2021.

What did Brazil's regulator do about Olymp Trade?

The CVM issued a stop order in February 2019 against Smartex International Ltd or Olymp Trade. On 16 July 2024 it fined Saledo Global LLC, which told the CVM it owns the Olymp Trade platform, R$255,000 for offering securities to Brazilians without registration and R$425,000 for intermediating trades without authorisation. The ruling could be appealed to Brazil's financial system appeals council.

Can I withdraw my money from Olymptrade?

Many users report normal withdrawals, including long-term users. But there is a recurring set of specific complaints from 2022 to late 2026 about accounts placed under review or closed with balances inside, and about local deposits not credited for weeks. The terms let the company void trades and keep funds at its discretion if it finds a breach, such as a second account.

Are deposits at Olymptrade insured?

Not in the usual sense. The site says clients are covered by deposit insurance, but the cover its regulation page describes is the Financial Commission's compensation of up to €20,000 when wrongdoing is proven. The Financial Commission is a private dispute body, not a deposit guarantee scheme.

Who owns and operates Olymptrade?

Services are provided by Aollikus Limited of Port Vila, Vanuatu (company number 40131). Saledo Global LLC of Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (227 LLC 2019) serves digital-asset clients, and partner companies Visepoint Limited (Malta) and Martique Limited (Cyprus) run operations. The ultimate owners are not disclosed.

How long has Olymptrade been operating?

The olymptrade.com domain was registered on 14 April 2014, which matches the site's 2014 start claim. The brand has traded continuously since then, although the companies behind it have changed: Smartex International Ltd and Wallfort Limited in 2017, then Saledo Global LLC and Aollikus Limited.

Is Olymptrade a clone, and how do I spot fake Olymptrade sites?

Olymptrade itself is not a clone, but clones of it exist. The Financial Commission warned in April 2024 that olymptradeltd.com is not affiliated, and the UK FCA has warned about an 'Olymp Trader' site at olymptrader.co.uk. The genuine sites we checked all show Aollikus Limited, company number 40131, in the footer, and olymptrade.com is the main one.

What are fixed-time trades on Olymptrade?

Fixed-time trades are a binary-option style product. You stake a fixed amount on whether a price will be higher or lower after a set time, as short as 5 seconds on Olymptrade, and either receive a fixed payout of up to 95% or lose the stake. Olymptrade takes the other side of the trade.

What should I check before depositing with Olymptrade?

Check whether your own country's regulator allows Olymptrade to serve you; in Malaysia, India and Brazil it does not. Use only olymptrade.com, read the account and bonus rules in the service agreement, keep one account only, and deposit only what you can afford to lose.

What can I do if my Olymptrade account is frozen?

Open a ticket and keep every reference number, then escalate through the internal steps listed on the regulation page. If the issue is still unresolved, you can file with the Financial Commission within 45 days of the incident. Avoid fund recovery services that ask for upfront fees, and if your country's regulator has warned about Olymptrade, report it there too.

What we recommend

The practical takeaway from everything above.

Our advice

If you are considering Olymptrade, treat it as an offshore, high-risk product and protect yourself before depositing.

  • Check your country first. In Malaysia, India and Brazil the regulator has said Olymptrade may not serve residents.
  • Understand fixed-time trades: you can lose the whole stake in seconds, and the broker takes the other side of your trade.
  • Do not rely on the deposit insurance wording. The only cover described is a private body's fund of up to €20,000 on proven claims.
  • Keep one account only, avoid bonuses you do not understand, and read clauses 2.32 and 8.5 of the service agreement.
  • Withdraw profits regularly and keep records: account ID, ticket numbers, payment receipts and screenshots.
  • If your account is frozen, follow the internal complaint steps, then file with the Financial Commission within 45 days of the incident. Ignore recovery services that ask for upfront fees.
  • Use only olymptrade.com and check that the footer shows Aollikus Limited, company number 40131.
