Regulation
9/10 · CriticalBAPPEBTI revoked its futures broker licence 44/BAPPEBTI/SI/05/2014 and the company is absent from the active licensed broker register, so it holds no valid authorisation at all.
Identity & transparency
6/10 · HighWhile operating it disclosed its entity, address and phone exactly as recorded by the regulator, but today there is no identifiable operator behind the brand and its web address belongs to someone else.
Withdrawals & conduct
4/10 · ModerateOne anonymous fund-related complaint on a single platform, describing a scheme that does not match this company's business and postdating its operating period, so the pattern is unconfirmed.
Reputation
6/10 · HighAlmost no independent footprint: no review profile for the domain on mainstream platforms, one negative directory comment, and no positive client accounts to weigh against it.
Website claims
3/10 · LowIts own site made modest and accurate claims, with no fake tier one licence, no guaranteed profits and a founding date that matched the independent record.
Operational history
5/10 · ModerateRoughly a decade of verified operation from 2013 or 2014, which counts in its favour, but the history ends in a revoked licence and an abandoned website.
Who they are
A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.
- Brand: PJB (Pialang Jepang Berjangka)
- Legal entity: PT Pialang Jepang Berjangka, an Indonesian limited company
- Registered: Summitmas II, 17th floor, Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 61-62, Senayan, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta Selatan 12190, as recorded on BAPPEBTI's register
- Website: pjbindo.com was the company's site until roughly 2021. That domain was re-registered by an unrelated party on 23 August 2026 and no longer belongs to this business. An alias, pjbindonesia.id, does not respond.
- Only licence: BAPPEBTI futures broker licence 44/BAPPEBTI/SI/05/2014, now revoked. A second BAPPEBTI number is recorded alongside it on the same revoked entry.
- Offers: physical and online gold (Loco), palm oil (CPO) futures, leverage up to 1:200, bank transfer funding, via the ICDX Smart-Trader and J-Trader platforms
- Not accepted: no MetaTrader 4 or 5, no card or e-wallet funding, and no client business at all today
- Age claim: the company stated it was founded in Jakarta on 4 June 2013, which matches its March 2014 domain and its May 2014 licence

Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
We rate this high risk and unverified rather than a proven scam. The regulatory position is settled and bad. The conduct question is genuinely open, and we will not fill that gap with guesses.
- The licence is gone, confirmed at the source. BAPPEBTI publishes a register titled Pialang Berjangka Yang Izinnya Dicabut, meaning futures brokers whose permission has been withdrawn. PT Pialang Jepang Berjangka is on it, with licence 44/BAPPEBTI/SI/05/2014, the address Summitmas II Lantai 17, Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 61-62, and the phone number 021-27510027. Those details match the company's own published profile exactly, so this is the right company.
- It is not on the live register. We searched BAPPEBTI's list of currently licensed futures brokers and the result was no matching records. A company in this position cannot lawfully take futures business from Indonesian clients.
- The brand is now detached from its own domain. Registration records show pjbindo.com was created again on 23 August 2026, one day before we looked, through a different registrar and pointing at parking nameservers. The page it serves is an empty website template with untranslated placeholder text where the email, phone and social links should be. That is somebody new setting up on a lapsed address, not the broker trading.
- This matters for the future, not just the past. A recognised broker name attached to a freshly bought domain, with no licence behind it, is the exact raw material used to relaunch a brand under new hands. Our own record still points users at that domain, which is why we have flagged it for correction.
- What we did not find. No regulator warning naming this company or this domain. No enforcement or court action for fraud. No cluster of withdrawal complaints, and no reviews of any kind on the mainstream review platforms. The absence of findings is part of why the score is 60 and not higher.
- Age is verified and it is real. The archived site, the March 2014 domain and the May 2014 licence all agree with the stated founding date of 4 June 2013, so this was an operation with roughly a decade of genuine history. Nothing about its age was overstated. We could not open an Indonesian corporate registry entry, so the incorporation date rests on the company's own profile page supported by its licence date, and we treat it as an upper bound.
Evidence ledger
Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1BAPPEBTI, the Indonesian commodity futures regulator, lists PT PIALANG JEPANG BERJANGKA on its official register of futures brokers whose licence has been revoked, with licence 44/BAPPEBTI/SI/05/2014, the address Summitmas II Lantai 17, Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 61-62, Jakarta Selatan 12190, and the phone number 021-27510027. All three identifiers match the company's own published profile.
E2A search of BAPPEBTI's register of currently licensed futures brokers for this company returns no matching records, confirming it holds no live Indonesian futures licence.
E3Domain registration records show pjbindo.com was created on 23 August 2026 through a different registrar and points at parking nameservers, meaning the company's former web address lapsed and was taken by an unrelated party.
E4The site now at the company's former address is an empty, unconfigured website template. It carries no company name, no licence claim and untranslated placeholder text where the email, phone and social links should appear.
E5The company's archived profile page names PT Pialang Jepang Berjangka, states it was established in Jakarta on 4 June 2013, and gives its head office as Sumitmas II Lantai 17, Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 61-62 Jakarta 12190 with phone +6221-27510027 and website www.pjbindo.com. This is what ties the regulator's revoked entry to this broker.
E6The archived 2018 homepage shows a genuine operating Jakarta futures brokerage dealing in physical and online gold and palm oil, using the ICDX Smart-Trader and J-Trader platforms, and describing itself as a broker rather than a dealer taking the other side of client trades. There are no guaranteed profit promises and no tier one licence claims.
ModerateArchived company homepageE7Archive records for pjbindo.com run from April 2014 to a final homepage capture in December 2021, which fits a business that operated for years and then went quiet, and confirms the stated 2013 founding date was not overstated.
E8A single anonymous post from June 2024 on a third-party broker directory describes being told to finish numbered tasks and pay a further amount before a balance of a few hundred thousand rupiah could be released. The scheme described does not match this company's gold and palm oil futures business, it postdates the period when the company's website was live, and it could not be tied to the company's own domain, so we have not counted it against the firm.

The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
The case for reading this charitably is stronger than the score suggests, and it deserves stating plainly.
- It was a real, licensed brokerage. For years this was a genuine Jakarta futures broker with a real BAPPEBTI licence, real registered representatives named on the regulator's record, an office in a known Sudirman tower, and products traded on the Indonesian commodity exchange. That is a very long way from a fake website with a copied licence number.
- Its own claims were modest and accurate. The site did not claim a tier one European or Australian licence it did not hold. It did not promise guaranteed profits. It described itself as a broker rather than a dealer taking the other side of client trades. Its founding date checked out against independent records. We found no misrepresentation by the company at all.
- A revoked licence is not proof of theft. Indonesian futures licences are withdrawn for many reasons, including capital shortfalls, reporting failures and voluntary exit. BAPPEBTI's register records the revocation but does not state that this firm defrauded anyone, and we found no regulator statement that it did.
- The one complaint probably is not about this company. A single anonymous post from 2024 on a broker directory describes being told to complete numbered tasks and pay more money before a small balance could be released. That is the shape of an online task scam, in amounts of a few hundred thousand rupiah. It does not match a gold and palm oil futures brokerage with 1:200 leverage, and it is dated years after this company's website went dark. We could not connect it to pjbindo.com, so we have not counted it against the firm.
- The blank website is not the company's doing. The empty template now on pjbindo.com belongs to whoever bought the lapsed domain on 23 August 2026. It would be unfair to read that page as a statement by PT Pialang Jepang Berjangka.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
This verdict is built on a small number of checkable facts, so it is easy to move in either direction.
- Toward lower risk: PT Pialang Jepang Berjangka reappearing on BAPPEBTI's active futures broker register, with a current licence number and a stated website, would remove the central finding and take this to a normal regulated profile.
- Toward lower risk: an official BAPPEBTI or company statement showing the licence ended through a voluntary surrender or an orderly wind up in which client funds were returned would settle the conduct question in the firm's favour.
- Toward higher risk: a BAPPEBTI enforcement notice, a court judgment, or a BAKTI arbitration award showing client money was not returned would move this to a scam verdict quickly.
- Toward higher risk: several independent clients, on more than one platform, describing the same failure to release funds with amounts and dates that fit this company's actual gold and CPO business.
- Toward much higher risk: the PJB name and this licence number reappearing on a working website that solicits deposits. Because the domain has just changed hands, that is the specific thing worth watching.
- A correction we would welcome: evidence that pjbindonesia.id or any other live site is genuinely operated by this company today, which would change our reading that the business is dormant.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is PJB a scam?
We did not find proof that PJB stole client money, so we do not call it a scam. What we did confirm is that Indonesia's regulator BAPPEBTI has revoked its futures broker licence, and that the business appears dormant. Treat it as unlicensed and do not deposit with it.
Is PJB regulated?
No, not any more. PT Pialang Jepang Berjangka held BAPPEBTI licence 44/BAPPEBTI/SI/05/2014, but that licence now appears on BAPPEBTI's register of revoked licences. A search of the active licensed broker list returns no match for this company.
What does a revoked BAPPEBTI licence actually mean?
BAPPEBTI is the Indonesian government agency that supervises commodity futures trading. A revoked licence means the company no longer has permission to act as a futures broker. It cannot lawfully take new futures business from Indonesian clients, and clients no longer have the protections that come with a supervised broker.
Can I still withdraw my money from PJB?
There is no working company website and no evidence of an active operation, so there is no normal withdrawal route. Collect your transfer records and statements, complain to BAPPEBTI, and ask about arbitration through BAKTI, the Indonesian commodity futures arbitration board.
Was my money ever protected?
While the licence was live, client funds were meant to sit in segregated accounts under BAPPEBTI rules. Once a licence is revoked those supervisory protections no longer apply to new business, and recovering an old balance becomes a legal matter rather than a regulatory one.
Who owns PJB?
The operating entity is PT Pialang Jepang Berjangka, an Indonesian limited company registered at Summitmas II, 17th floor, Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 61-62, Jakarta Selatan. The company described itself as affiliated with a Japanese business. We could not open an Indonesian corporate registry record, so we cannot name the current shareholders.
How old is PJB?
The company said it was founded in Jakarta on 4 June 2013, and that fits the independent record. Its domain was registered in March 2014, the earliest capture of its live website is April 2014, and its BAPPEBTI licence dates from May 2014. So this was a real operation of roughly a decade, not a new brand.
Is pjbindo.com still PJB's website?
No. Registration records show pjbindo.com was created again on 23 August 2026 through a different registrar, pointing at parking nameservers. It now serves an empty, unconfigured website template with placeholder text instead of contact details. Whatever appears there in future has no connection to the licensed broker that used to be there.
Is PJB a clone of another broker?
No. We found no sign that it copied another company's name, licence number or registered address. Its own details matched the regulator's record exactly, which is the opposite of a clone.
Are there complaints about PJB?
Very few. There is no review profile for its domain on the mainstream review platforms, and we found one anonymous fund-related complaint from 2024 on a broker directory. That post describes an online task scheme in small amounts, which does not match this company's gold and palm oil futures business, and we could not tie it to this company.
What should I check before depositing with any Indonesian broker?
Search the company's exact legal name on BAPPEBTI's list of licensed futures brokers, and check the revoked list too. Confirm the licence number, the registered address and the phone number match what the company tells you. If the name is missing from the licensed list, stop there.
Someone contacted me offering to trade in PJB's name. What now?
Do not send money and do not share identity documents. The company holds no current licence and its old web address changed hands in August 2026, so a live approach using this brand is most likely someone reusing a recognisable name. Report it to BAPPEBTI.
I lost money. Can a recovery service get it back?
Be very careful. Services that promise to recover losses for an upfront fee are usually a second fraud targeting people who have already been hurt. Use official routes instead: a complaint to BAPPEBTI, arbitration through BAKTI, or your own lawyer.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
Treat PJB as an unlicensed and dormant business, and do not send it money.
- Do not deposit funds with anyone trading under the PJB or Pialang Jepang Berjangka name. The company holds no current Indonesian futures licence.
- Be especially careful with pjbindo.com. That address changed owners on 23 August 2026 and whatever appears there in future has no connection to the licensed business that once used it.
- Check any Indonesian futures broker yourself before depositing, by searching BAPPEBTI's list of licensed futures brokers and its revoked list. Both are linked below and both are free.
- If you already have money with this company, gather your transfer records, contract and account statements now, then file a complaint with BAPPEBTI and consider arbitration through BAKTI, the Indonesian commodity futures arbitration board.
- Refuse any request to pay a tax, fee, task or unlocking charge before a withdrawal is released. No legitimate broker works that way, and nobody who asks for it will send your money back.
- Ignore anyone offering to recover your losses for an upfront fee. Recovery offers that follow a broker collapse are usually a second fraud aimed at the same victims.
