Is RoboForex a scam?

High risk (unverified)MEDIUM confidence
Offshore broker with payout disputes (not a clone)

RoboForex is not a clone or a fake broker, but it is high risk: an offshore Belize licence, regulator warnings and repeated payout complaints.

  • Licence: the Financial Services Commission of Belize lists ROBOFOREX LTD. as an active registrant, number 9759600, with www.roboforex.com as its website. This is an offshore registration, so investor protection is light.
  • Warnings: Malaysia's Securities Commission lists roboforex.com for unlicensed dealing in securities (2022). The Bank of Russia lists RoboForex Ltd for signs of illegal securities activity (since February 2021, updated March 2026). Ukraine's NSSMC flagged the brand three times in 2024. All three warnings are about operating without a local licence. None alleges fraud.
  • Complaints: at the time of writing, 52% of the 773 Trustpilot reviews of roboforex.com give one star. Many recent ones say profits were cancelled after winning trades or withdrawals were held for weeks in 2026. RoboForex replies to almost all of them.
  • Track record: roboforex.com was registered in October 2006, and archived copies show the broker's site from 2009. Its German sister company, RoboMarkets Deutschland GmbH, is authorised by BaFin, but that licence does not cover RoboForex accounts.

Regulation

7/10 · High

An active Belize FSC registration, 9759600, is confirmed on the regulator's register and tied to roboforex.com. But it is offshore, and Malaysia, Russia and Ukraine have warned that the broker has no local licence.

Identity & transparency

3/10 · Low

The entity, address, domain and compliance email all match the FSC register, and the group companies are disclosed. The owners and the incorporation date are not public.

Withdrawals & conduct

6/10 · High

A consistent 2026 pattern of cancelled profits and withdrawals held for weeks. This is offset by many positive reviews and replies to nearly every complaint, and no client reports being asked for a release fee.

Reputation

6/10 · High

Trustpilot gives 2.0 from 773 reviews, with 52% at one star, while the app is rated 4.3 by about 17,300 users. Warnings from three regulators weigh on it.

Website claims

5/10 · Moderate

The licence and age claims check out. But saying client funds are fully secured, and calling a private certifier's site a regulatory organisation, overstates the protection.

Operational history

2/10 · Low

The domain was registered in October 2006, the broker's site is archived from 2009, and it has been a Financial Commission member since 2014. The Belize company itself could not be dated.

Who they are

A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.

  • Brand: RoboForex
  • Legal entity: RoboForex Ltd (ROBOFOREX LTD. on the Belize FSC register). The broker gives its company number as 000001272.
  • Registered: 2118 Guava Street, Belama Phase 1, Belize City, Belize. Business address: Belize Marina Towers, Barrack Road, Newtown Barracks, Belize City. A second company, RoboGate Ltd, is listed at Suite 16, Watergardens 5, Waterport Wharf, Gibraltar.
  • Website: roboforex.com, registered in October 2006. roboforex-cn.org redirects to it, and my.roboforex.com is the client area. roboforex.by now shows only a liquidation notice for the former Belarus company.

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

RoboForex is a real, long-running broker, and its licence checks out, so it is not a clone or a fake operation. We still rate it high risk. Three regulators have warned about it, and its clients keep reporting profits taken away and withdrawals held up.

  • The licence is genuine but weak. RoboForex links to the FSC's LicenSys search. Searching it for RoboForex returns ROBOFOREX LTD., number 9759600, status Active, website www.roboforex.com and email compliance@roboforex.com. The name, domain and contact email all match, so this licence belongs to this broker. But Belize is an offshore regulator. The protections the broker offers are private ones (a Financial Commission fund and an insurance policy), not a statutory compensation scheme.
  • Regulators outside Belize have warned about it. Malaysia's Securities Commission lists roboforex.com for carrying on unlicensed dealing in securities (2022). The Bank of Russia lists RoboForex Ltd for signs of illegal securities market activity, at the same Belize address and with roboforex.com among its sites. That entry was first made on 1 February 2021 and last updated on 26 March 2026. Ukraine's NSSMC flagged the RoboForex name as unlicensed three times in 2024. These warnings are about operating without local permission. None of them is about fraud.
  • The complaints form a pattern. Recent one-star Trustpilot reviews, from July to October 2026, describe the same two problems. First, profits cancelled after winning trades, including USD 9,600 and USD 6,019 cases. Second, withdrawals held from one week to two months for verification or compliance review. The reviewers are different people in different countries, they quote ticket and account numbers, and several cases cluster around news trading in August 2026.
  • Why this is not a scam verdict. The licence is tied to this domain, the site has run without a break since 2009, and RoboForex has been a Financial Commission member since January 2014. Its trading app has more than a million downloads and a 4.3 rating, and the broker replies to nearly every negative review. The evidence points to a real risk of disputes over profits and withdrawals. It does not point to a platform that keeps everyone's deposits.
  • The age figure is an upper bound. Belize's company registry does not publish incorporation dates openly, so we could not date RoboForex Ltd itself. Its track record rests on the 2006 domain registration and the archived site from 2009.

5 against6 in favour
  • E1The Belize FSC register lists ROBOFOREX LTD. under number 9759600, status Active, registration date 1 January 2025. Its categories are trading in securities as agent and as principal, managing securities and providing investment advice. The listed domain is www.roboforex.com and the email is compliance@roboforex.com. Name, domain and contact all match the broker.

  • E2RoboForex states that it is registered with the FSC of Belize under the Securities Industry Act 2021, number 9759600, with company number 000001272, at 2118 Guava Street, Belize City. It says it does not target EU, EEA or UK clients and does not serve the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus or other listed countries.

  • E3The Securities Commission Malaysia Investor Alert List has an entry for RoboForex with the website https://roboforex.com/, year 2022. The remark reads: carrying on unlicensed capital market activities of dealing in securities. This is a finding of unlicensed activity in Malaysia, not of fraud.

  • E4The Bank of Russia lists RoboForex Ltd (RGF Holding), at 2118 Guava Street, Belize City, for signs of an illegal professional securities market participant. The entry names roboforex.com, robomarkets.com and dozens of roboforex.org mirror addresses. It was first listed on 1 February 2021 and last updated on 26 March 2026. Like E3, it concerns operating without a local licence.

  • E5Ukraine's NSSMC flagged RoboForex as an unregistered or unlicensed entity likely to be offering services to Ukrainian consumers. The latest alert is number 34129, dated 23 August 2024; earlier alerts are dated 6 March and 28 June 2024. The alerts name the brand only, not a website.

  • E6The roboforex.com page has 773 reviews and a TrustScore of 2.0, with 52% at one star and 36% at five stars. One-star reviews from July to October 2026 describe profits cancelled after winning trades (USD 9,600 in August, USD 6,019 in July), withdrawals held from one week to two months for verification, withdrawals cancelled repeatedly, and an account restricted for more than a year. They quote ticket and account numbers. RoboForex replies to 99% of negative reviews.

  • E7RoboForex's MobileTrader app has more than 1 million installs and a 4.3 rating from about 17,300 reviews. The most visible complaints are about app speed and fees, not money held back. The developer is listed as RoboForex (CY) Ltd, not as the Belize contracting entity.

  • E8roboforex.com was registered on 30 October 2006, before the 2009 founding date the broker claims.

  • E9The web archive holds copies of roboforex.com from September 2009 and monthly copies from December 2010 onwards. This fits continuous operation under the RoboForex name since 2009.

  • E10RoboForex has been an active member of the Financial Commission since 14 January 2014. This gives clients a complaints process and a compensation fund of up to EUR 20,000 per case. The Commission is a private body, not a regulator.

  • E11BaFin lists RoboMarkets Deutschland GmbH, Bleidenstrasse 1, Frankfurt, BaFin-ID 10154068, as a securities institution authorised since 14 August 2019. RoboForex's site sends European clients to this sister company. Its licence does not cover RoboForex Ltd accounts.

  • E12roboforex.by redirects to a notice that the RoboForex company in Belarus stopped operating there and went into liquidation under a shareholders' resolution of 28 September 2022. The notice names a liquidator and sets 29 November 2022 as the deadline for creditor claims.

  • E13The site says clients' funds are fully secured, and it describes the Verify My Trade certification site as the website of the regulatory organization. Both overstate what an offshore registration and private memberships provide.

  • E14roboforex-cn.org was registered on 30 June 2021, uses the same name servers as roboforex.com and redirects to roboforex.com.

  • E15The same Malaysian list names a Telegram group, Pelaburan RoboForex Malaysia (2024), as a potential clone, and lists a site at roboforex.my run under the name Roboforex Trading Service Sdn Bhd (2021). Neither uses roboforex.com, so their conduct is not attributed to this broker.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

The strongest case for RoboForex is that it is an established, licensed business with a regulated European sister company. On this view, its problems are those of an aggressive offshore broker, not of a scheme built to take deposits.

  • Its Belize licence is real and active, and the regulator's own register ties it to roboforex.com.
  • The group has a separate company, RoboMarkets Deutschland GmbH, which BaFin has authorised since August 2019. The RoboForex site sends European visitors there.
  • The warnings from Malaysia, Russia and Ukraine are about selling into those countries without a local licence. RoboForex now lists Russia, Ukraine and Belarus among the countries it does not serve, and says its adverts are not meant for Malaysian residents.
  • Clients have a way to complain. The Financial Commission, which RoboForex joined in January 2014, can rule on disputes and pay up to EUR 20,000 per case from its fund if a member ignores a ruling.
  • Withdrawals clearly work for many clients. The MobileTrader app has more than a million installs and a 4.3 rating from about 17,300 reviews, and some Trustpilot reviewers say withdrawals arrived in about a business day.
  • In at least one case the broker gave abnormal market conditions as its reason for removing profits. Its terms may allow this, but we could not check individual cases against them.
  • The Belarus company behind roboforex.by closed through a formal liquidation, with a named liquidator and a deadline for creditor claims. That is an orderly wind-down.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

Our rating would change if any of the following happened.

  • Higher risk: a regulator or court finds that RoboForex took client money dishonestly. Or the FSC suspends or cancels registration 9759600. Or clients are asked to pay a fee, tax or deposit before a withdrawal is released. Or the FCA, ASIC or an EU regulator issues a warning naming roboforex.com. Or the broker refuses to honour Financial Commission rulings.
  • Lower risk: RoboForex starts serving clients through a company with a tier-1 licence. Or roboforex.com is removed from the Malaysian and Russian warning lists. Or complaints about cancelled profits and held withdrawals clearly fall. Or Financial Commission decisions show disputes settled in clients' favour and paid.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

15 questions
Is RoboForex a scam?

We found no evidence that RoboForex is a fake or cloned broker. Its Belize licence is real, and the regulator's register ties it to roboforex.com. We still rate it high risk: regulators in Malaysia, Russia and Ukraine have warned that it has no local licence, and many clients report cancelled profits and delayed withdrawals.

Is RoboForex a fraud?

We found no regulator notice accusing RoboForex of fraud. The warnings from Malaysia, Russia and Ukraine are about offering services without a local licence. That is a serious regulatory problem, but it is not a finding of fraud.

Is RoboForex regulated?

Yes, but only offshore. RoboForex Ltd is registered with the Financial Services Commission of Belize under number 9759600, status Active. The registration covers trading in securities as principal and as agent, managing securities and investment advice. RoboForex Ltd does not claim any licence from a tier-1 regulator. The BaFin licence belongs to its sister company, RoboMarkets Deutschland GmbH.

What is the Belize FSC licence worth?

It shows that a government regulator knows about and supervises the company, which is better than nothing. But Belize is an offshore jurisdiction with lighter supervision than the UK, the EU or Australia. The protections RoboForex points to are private ones, a Financial Commission fund and an insurance policy, not a statutory compensation scheme.

Is my money safe with RoboForex?

Your money is held by an offshore company, so protection is limited. The broker offers negative balance protection and Financial Commission membership, which pays up to EUR 20,000 per case if the broker ignores a ruling. It also has a civil liability insurance policy with a EUR 2.5 million limit. None of these replaces the compensation scheme of a tier-1 regulator.

Can I withdraw my money from RoboForex?

Many clients can. Some Trustpilot reviewers say withdrawals arrived in about a business day, and the broker's app is rated 4.3 by about 17,300 users. But a steady stream of 2026 reviews says withdrawals were held for weeks for verification, or cancelled several times. Test with a small amount first.

Why do some clients say RoboForex cancelled their profits?

Several 2026 reviews say profits from winning trades, often placed around major news releases, were removed afterwards. One reviewer says the broker gave abnormal market conditions as the reason. Amounts named include USD 9,600 and USD 6,019. We could not check these cases against the broker's terms, but the pattern is consistent enough to take seriously.

Which regulators have warned about RoboForex?

Malaysia's Securities Commission lists roboforex.com on its Investor Alert List for unlicensed dealing in securities (2022). The Bank of Russia has listed RoboForex Ltd since February 2021 for signs of illegal securities market activity. Ukraine's NSSMC flagged the RoboForex name as unlicensed three times in 2024.

Who runs RoboForex, and is it the same as RoboMarkets?

The website is run by RoboForex Ltd, a Belize company at 2118 Guava Street, Belize City. The site does not name the company's owners. The Bank of Russia's entry links it to RGF Holding. RoboMarkets Deutschland GmbH in Frankfurt is a BaFin-authorised sister company, and the RoboForex site sends European clients there. They are different companies with different protection, so check which one holds your account.

How long has RoboForex been operating?

About 17 years. The domain roboforex.com was registered in October 2006, the web archive holds copies of the broker's site from September 2009, and RoboForex joined the Financial Commission in January 2014. The Belize company's incorporation date is not publicly available.

Is RoboForex a clone, and are there fake RoboForex sites?

RoboForex itself is not a clone, because the Belize register ties its licence to roboforex.com. Other operations do use its name. Malaysia's regulator lists a Telegram group called Pelaburan RoboForex Malaysia as a potential clone. Only trust roboforex.com and the links it publishes.

Can I use RoboForex from the EU, the UK, the US or Malaysia?

The Belize company says it does not target EU, EEA or UK clients, and it sends Europeans to RoboMarkets. It does not accept clients from the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia or other listed countries. Malaysia's regulator says RoboForex is not licensed to deal there.

What is the Financial Commission?

It is a private dispute-resolution body that brokers pay to join. It hears client complaints, and if a member ignores its ruling, it pays up to EUR 20,000 per case from its compensation fund. It is not a government regulator and does not license brokers.

What should I check before depositing with RoboForex?

Confirm the licence on the Belize FSC register and make sure your country is not on the restricted list. Read the rules on abnormal market conditions and bonuses. Deposit from an account in your own name, and test a small withdrawal before adding more.

What should I do if RoboForex refuses my withdrawal or cancels my profit?

Open a support ticket, keep every reference number and take screenshots of your trade history. Then file a complaint with the Financial Commission. Never pay anyone a fee to release or recover your funds, because that is a common follow-up scam.

What we recommend

The practical takeaway from everything above.

Our advice

If you are thinking of opening an account with RoboForex, treat it as a high-risk offshore broker and protect yourself before you deposit.

  • Search the Belize FSC LicenSys register for RoboForex yourself. Check that the entry shows number 9759600 and www.roboforex.com.
  • If you live in the EU, use the BaFin-authorised RoboMarkets Deutschland GmbH instead. The Belize company says it operates outside European investor protection.
  • Do not open an account if you live in Malaysia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus or any other country on the broker's restricted list. Regulators in three of those countries have said RoboForex is not licensed to serve their residents.
  • Before you trade around major news releases, read the client agreement's rules on abnormal market conditions, news trading and bonuses.
  • Start with a small deposit and test a withdrawal before adding more. Deposit and withdraw only with a payment method in your own name.
  • Keep screenshots of your trade history, balances and every ticket number. If a withdrawal or a profit is refused, take the complaint to the Financial Commission.
  • Never pay a fee, tax or unlock payment to release a withdrawal. Ignore anyone who offers to recover your money for an upfront fee.
  • Use only roboforex.com. Malaysia's regulator also lists a Telegram group called Pelaburan RoboForex Malaysia as a potential clone, and a site at roboforex.my run under the name Roboforex Trading Service Sdn Bhd. Neither is roboforex.com.
