What RoboMarkets legally published, but does not want you to read

Every clause below is published by RoboMarkets itself, on its own website, today. The finding is not that the text exists. It is the distance between what a client is shown and what a client agreed to. Read from its own documents on .

Contracting entity: RoboMarkets Ltd

sole discretionwithdrawalshidden feekyc freezeprofit voidingforum waiverfx markupoffshore counterpartyunilateral amendmentaccount closure

The contract a retail client signs at robomarkets.sc is with RoboMarkets Ltd in Seychelles, not with the CySEC firm the brand is known for. A negative balance can be collected from any account the firm believes is connected to you. You get 2 working days to raise a claim before it stops being processed. Two free withdrawals a month are promised on the website and granted nowhere in the contract.

section 36 of 52is where the deepest clause sits, 69% of the way into the document it is in

The numbers in this contractFigures taken from this broker's own clauses, so the labels differ from broker to broker. The four in the panel above are the same on every report.

2 of these 4 figures come from a clause we rate critical, which means it can take your money or your profit rather than only delay it.

What the documents say

18 clauses worth knowing about, worst first, each quoted from RoboMarkets's own files

01

If your account goes below zero, RoboMarkets can take the shortfall out of any other account it believes is connected to you. Clause 3.9 needs only the firm's belief in a connection, and the account it draws on can belong to another person.

In plain words

Negative balance protection is a limit that stops you owing more than you put in. Without it, one fast market move can leave you owing the broker money on top of your deposit.

Why this matters

Your balance can be cut to cover somebody else's loss, and the test is what RoboMarkets believes rather than what it can show. Clause 3.8 also means you can owe the firm more than you deposited, payable within 2 business days.

Exhibit 1CriticalRarely seen2 working days

If the balance of the Customer’s account is negative, the Company shall have the right to pay off without future authorization the negative balance of the account by transferring funds from any other account of the Customer’s Personal Area or from an account of any other Personal Area, if the Company believes that there is a connection between this Personal Area and the Customer.
Clause 3.9 in Client Agreement, p.6

Where it sits: section 12 of 52 in the Client Agreement, near the start.

Set against a regulated standard: ESMA (EU), FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA, CySEC or another regulator applying the ESMA measures must give a retail CFD client negative balance protection on a per account basis, so the client cannot lose more than the account holds. This contract sets out how a negative balance is collected instead, including from accounts the firm believes are connected.

RoboMarkets is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

Our readingSetting a loss off against the same client's other accounts is common. Clause 3.9 reaches further. It allows recovery from an account in a different Personal Area whenever the firm believes a connection exists, which turns one person's shortfall into another person's deduction.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 2Money can be taken from a connected account, and you then have 2 working days to raise a claim about it.
02

Raise a claim more than 2 working days after the problem appeared and RoboMarkets will not process it. The clock in clause 14.6.2 starts when the reason for the claim arose, not when you noticed it.

Why this matters

A bad fill on a Friday has to be disputed by Tuesday. Miss that and the contract leaves you no route: clause 14.2 says a claim raised by any other means is not receivable in evidence, and clause 14.6.5 bars any claim for lost profit.

What it costsA problem that appears on Friday has to be raised by Tuesday. On Wednesday clause 14.6.2 applies and the claim is not processed.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC must accept a retail complaint, acknowledge it, give a final answer within eight weeks and point the client to an independent scheme. This contract stops processing a claim once 2 working days have passed.

RoboMarkets is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

Our readingA complaint window is ordinary. Measuring it in working days from the event, rather than in months from discovery, is the part that shuts most clients out.

03

Money RoboMarkets gave you as cashback, a rebate or a promotion can be taken off your account at any time with no reason given. Clause 1.13 also lets the firm reverse every trade you made with it.

In plain words

A manifest error means an obvious mistake by the broker.

Why this matters

The profit from those reversed trades goes with them. RoboMarkets' own rebate page promises funds you can use with no extra conditions, and puts its right to refuse payouts without a reason in a footnote on the same page.

Exhibit 3CriticalHarder than usual

The Company has the right to, at any time and without any given reason, refuse to grant promotional benefit or cancel/write off the previously issued promotional benefit from the account, as well as revoke (cancel) all transactions that have been made with the use of the promotional benefit. This can be made in case of misuse of the benefit, manifest errors, abnormal market situations, etc. at own discretion of the Company.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 7Cashback can be clawed back on a trading volume the firm sets itself, and the withdrawal of what is left carries costs the contract never prices.
04

Fund your account from someone else's card or wallet and RoboMarkets can send the money back, keep any profit you made in the meantime, and still charge your losses against the refund. Clause 13.3 splits your account in two.

Why this matters

You carry the downside of those trades and the firm keeps the upside. The cost of the transfer that reverses your deposit comes out of your pocket as well.

Exhibit 5CriticalRarely seen

Losses, taken by the Client until his funds are written off the account, are subtracted from the refundable amount. Profit, received by the client until his funds are written off the account, is not refundable.

Read from the broker's site on Archived copyOpen the reference

Where it sits: section 30 of 52 in the Client Agreement, 58% of the way through.

Our readingReturning a third party deposit to its source is ordinary anti-money-laundering practice. Splitting the account's performance in two is not: the losses reduce what you get back and the profit stays with RoboMarkets.

05

RoboMarkets promises 2 free withdrawals a month on its home page, in English and in Spanish. The Client Agreement grants none: clause 13.10 charges you all costs for the funds transfer.

Why this matters

You pay to take your own money out, at a price the contract never states. Only the deposit half of the promise is in the contract, where clause 13.21 does commit the firm to cover the payment system's fee.

Exhibit 4WarningStandard wording2

When withdrawing funds from the trading account, the Client is charged with all costs for funds transfer.

What it costsTake money out once a week and the promise covers 2 of your 4 withdrawals. Clause 13.10 charges the transfer cost on all 4.

  • Worse together with Exhibit 7The promise names a free allowance, and the contract behind it names neither the allowance nor the price of the transfers it does charge for.
06

Two companies in this group are called RoboMarkets Ltd. The contract you sign at robomarkets.sc is with the Seychelles one, and clause 1.1 settles the agreement at the place where that company is registered.

Why this matters

The CySEC licence 191/13 that carries the brand belongs to the Cyprus company, and that company's own site says it does not provide financial services to retail clients. An unresolved complaint about your account goes to the Seychelles regulator, not to a European one.

Exhibit 6WarningHarder than usual

This Client Agreement (hereinafter called the "Agreement") is made by the RoboMarkets Ltd., providing services under RoboMarkets trademark, (hereinafter called the "Company"), whose registered office is located at: CT House, Office 9A, Providence, Mahe, Seychelles, registration number SD048, and an individual or a legal entity (except for stateless persons; individuals under 18 years of age) (hereinafter called the "Client").

  • Worse together with Exhibit 9The entity you contract with decides whether any compensation scheme stands behind your money, and the Seychelles set names none.

Three charges on your money with no figure attached

Three charges sit in the RoboMarkets Client Agreement with no number against any of them. Clause 13.10 puts all withdrawal transfer costs on you. Clause 13.17 adds a commission when your withdrawal route differs from your deposit route, and clause 13.6 converts the payment at the firm's own internal rate.

Cost disclosure1 clause flagged

Three charges sit in the Client Agreement and in no price list. Clause 13.10 puts all transfer costs on you. Clause 13.17 adds a further commission when you withdraw to a different payment system than the one you deposited from.

Why this matters

Not one of the three carries a number. Clause 13.6 lets RoboMarkets convert your withdrawal at its own internal rate, so the amount that reaches you depends on a rate you cannot check anywhere.

Exhibit 7WarningHarder than usual

The Company has the right to charge the Client with an additional commission if the Client uses different payment systems to deposit and withdraw funds. The amount of the commission charged to the Client is calculated based on costs paid by the Company when fulfilling the Client’s withdrawal request.

Buried at section 33 of 52 in the Client Agreement, 63% of the way through.

Set against a regulated standard: FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus)

Firms licensed by the FCA or CySEC must give a retail client the costs and charges of a service before that client trades, in money terms. This contract names three charges and attaches a figure to none of them.

RoboMarkets is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

The clock starts when RoboMarkets approves, and nothing times the approval

RoboMarkets gives itself 2 working days to pay a withdrawal, counted from its own approval of your request. No clause sets a deadline for that approval. Payments move only between 9:00 and 18:00 EET on weekdays, the firm can refuse a request whose bank details differ from the deposit, and partner balances are held until they reach 1,000 Euros.

Getting money out2 clauses flagged

RoboMarkets has 2 working days to send your money, and the clock starts only once it approves the request. Nothing in the contract says how long that approval may take.

Why this matters

Your request can sit unapproved without the firm breaching anything. Clause 3.3 keeps the whole process inside office hours on weekdays, and clause 13.16 lets RoboMarkets postpone the payment date if a payment system stops working.

Exhibit 8WarningHarder than usual2 working days

  • Worse together with Exhibit 10The only withdrawal route in the contract runs through the Members Area, and clause 1.7 lets the firm block access to it.

Affiliate commission stays with RoboMarkets until your balance reaches 1,000 Euros, under clause 6.4 of the Affiliate Agreement. Clause 6.21 lets the firm change how that commission is calculated and paid whenever it wants.

Why this matters

At 300 Euros per active client you need 4 of them before any payout is possible. Clause 11.2 also rules out any claim for lost profit, which is the only loss a change of terms causes a partner.

Exhibit 16WarningHarder than usual

Affiliate Commission will be paid provided that the Affiliate Commission balance for the Affiliates first withdrawal is 1000 Euros or over.
Clause 6.4 in Affiliate Agreement, p.8

Where it sits: section 62 of 117 in the Affiliate Agreement, 53% of the way through.

What it costsClause 6.1 pays 300 Euros per active client and clause 6.4 holds the first payout until 1,000 Euros. Three referrals reach 900 Euros, so nothing is payable until the fourth.

Three clauses that reach money you have already made

Clause 3.9 of the RoboMarkets Client Agreement lets the firm take a negative balance out of any account it believes is connected to you. That includes an account in another person's name. Clause 1.13 cancels promotional money with no reason given and reverses every trade made with it, and clause 13.3 keeps your profit when a third party deposit is refunded while charging your losses against the refund.

Money already earned1 clause flagged

RoboMarkets can treat your trades as non-market transactions whenever it decides there are objective reasons for it. Clause 4.10 does not say what those reasons are, and the glossary defines only the quotation, not the test.

Why this matters

The risk disclosure spells out who pays. If you open a position on margin from a profitable trade the firm later cancels, the loss is yours. Cancelling a trade made on a bad price is normal practice; deciding alone what counts as one is not.

Exhibit 14WarningHarder than usual

The Company has the right to regard as non-market the transactions at the trading server, in case there are objective reasons for that.

Prices, leverage and access all move at the firm's choosing

Clause 4.13 of the RoboMarkets Client Agreement changes spreads, swaps and the swap-free commission with no advance notice to you. Clause 1.11 gives rules published on the website the force of an amendment. The firm can cut leverage to 1:1000 before a weekend and takes no responsibility for your margin afterwards, and blocking your Members Area closes the only withdrawal route the contract gives you.

What can change without you4 clauses flagged

One Members Area per client is the rule, and clause 1.7 lets RoboMarkets block your access for breaking it. That same Members Area is the only place the contract lets you withdraw from.

Why this matters

Losing access to the Members Area means losing the only withdrawal route the contract gives you. Clause 13.9 also blocks withdrawals until that Members Area is verified.

Exhibit 10WarningHarder than usual

The Company has the right to restrict or block access to "Members Area" in case the Client violates articles 1.5 and/or 1.6 of this Agreement.

Spreads, swaps and the swap-free commission can change with no advance notice to you at all. Changes to the Agreement itself take 5 working days, and clause 4.13 requires the regulator's prior approval for them.

Why this matters

The costs you trade against can move while your positions are open. Clause 1.11 goes further and gives rules published in the promo sections of the website the force of an amendment to your contract.

Exhibit 12WarningHarder than usual5 working days

The Company has the right to change this Agreement with pre-approval of the Authority only. The changes come into effect in 5 working days after publication about the changes in the Company’s site or sending an appropriate notice by the client account internal mail.

Where it sits: section 17 of 52 in the Client Agreement, 33% of the way through.

In the last hour before a weekend RoboMarkets can cut the leverage on a high leverage account to 1:1000. Clause 6.13.4 says the firm takes no responsibility for whether you still have enough margin afterwards.

Why this matters

A leverage cut raises the margin your open positions need, so they can be closed out at the worst possible moment. Clause 3.10 also lets the firm close a position outright when it decides it cannot fairly value a corporate action.

Exhibit 13WarningHarder than usual

During the last hour prior to weekend or holidays, the Company has the right to reduce the account leverage to 1:1000 for accounts with leverage higher than 1:1000. The Client bears full responsibility for having enough Margin at the moment when the leverage is reduced.

The Client Agreement turns away only stateless people and anyone under 18. The list of countries RoboMarkets will not work in sits in the website footer, and it ends with the words and other restricted countries.

Why this matters

You can open and fund an account from a country the footer excludes, because the contract you accept says nothing about countries. The open ending means no list anywhere tells you for certain whether you qualify.

A payment system's doubt can freeze the account and the funds

A notification that your deposit money looks of dubious provenance is enough for RoboMarkets to block your account and the funds on it under clause 4.6. The block runs until the circumstances are clarified, and no clause limits how long that takes. The same clause lets the firm close all your open positions first, with no advance warning.

Freeze conditions1 clause flagged

A notification from a payment system calling your deposit money of dubious provenance lets RoboMarkets block your account and the funds on it. Clause 4.6 also lets the firm close all your positions first, with no warning.

Why this matters

Nothing in the clause limits how long clarification may take. Positions closed at the firm's choice of moment lock in your losses, and you carry them.

Exhibit 11WarningHarder than usual

If the Company receives a notification from the payment system that the money used to deposit trading account are of dubious provenance, the Company has the right to block the Client’s Members Area and his corresponding trading account until the circumstances are clarified. No compensation scheme sits behind the Seychelles contract

RoboMarkets tells clients their funds are fully secured. Its own General Risk Disclosure says the money sits with the Execution Venue and that segregation may not afford complete protection. No investor compensation scheme is named anywhere in the Seychelles document set, while the Cyprus arm of the same brand publishes a compensation notice of its own.

What stands behind the money1 clause flagged

RoboMarkets tells you on its own regulation page that your funds are fully secured. The risk disclosure it publishes beside that page says the money is held by the Execution Venue, and that segregation may not afford complete protection.

Why this matters

No investor compensation scheme is named anywhere in the Seychelles document set. If RoboMarkets or a bank it uses fails, clause 2.9 says your positions can be closed out against your wishes.

Exhibit 9WarningStandard wording

Firms licensed by CySEC or the FCA must hold retail client money in segregated accounts and must belong to a compensation scheme that pays out if the firm fails. The Seychelles set names no scheme, and its own risk disclosure says segregation may not afford complete protection.

RoboMarkets is not licensed by these regulators, so this is a comparison of practice, not a finding of any breach.

RoboMarkets sets the price and can be the only venue

RoboMarkets adds its own markup to the prices it receives from liquidity providers on every product that carries no commission. On the MT4 Pro Cent server it can act as principal and sole execution venue for CFD orders. Its Order Execution Policy states both things and publishes the markups by account type.

In plain words

Liquidity providers are outside banks and brokers.

Both sides of the trade1 clause flagged

On products that carry no commission, RoboMarkets adds its own markup to the price it receives from liquidity providers. On the MT4 Pro Cent server it can act as principal and be the sole execution venue for your CFD orders.

A new account has 45 days to place its first trade

45 days is all clause 2.5 of the RoboMarkets Client Agreement allows a new account that has never traded. The firm can then stop maintaining it, and the clause promises no warning. No dormancy fee appears anywhere in the Seychelles document set, which is better than many brokers manage.

In plain words

Dormancy means an account left unused.

Dormancy1 clause flagged

Open an account, fund it, place no trade for 45 days and RoboMarkets can stop maintaining it under clause 2.5.

Its own agreement gives SD048 as its registration number, while the broker's site gives the incorporation number as 8425063-1. The other RoboMarkets Ltd is in Limassol, holds CySEC licence 191/13 and registration HE310464, and its site says it does not provide financial services to retail clients. New retail clients in the EU are sent instead to RoboMarkets Deutschland GmbH, supervised by BaFin, whose own page says the trading accounts are held by RoboMarkets Ltd without saying which of the two. Clause 13.24 names three further companies as the agents that take card payments: RoboGate Ltd in Gibraltar, RoboMarkets Ltd in Limassol and RFS Technologies Ltd in Cyprus. Clause 1.14 puts cryptocurrency trading with a fourth, RoboGate OU.

Quotations are copied verbatim from the documents named above, with the clause number and the page each one came from. Where a clause is quoted in another language, the original is shown first and the English is a translation.

The plain-language parts, what a clause means for a client, how ordinary it is, and how it reads against a regulated standard, are WIKILIX's analysis and are labelled as such on every card. This is a reading of public documents, not legal advice and not an allegation of wrongdoing.

In fairness, and what we could not check

A reader who knows the edges of the work can trust the middle of it

Deposit costs are genuinely covered. Clause 13.21 commits RoboMarkets to pay the payment system's commission when you fund your account, and most brokers pass that cost on. The General Risk Disclosure runs 15 pages and sets out 6 named risks of copy trading, which most firms never write down at all. The Order Execution Policy states that the firm does not re-quote asymmetrically, and it admits in writing that it adds markups to prices on commission-free products. Every document is free to download with no login.

This review covers the Seychelles set in full: the Client Agreement, the General Risk Disclosure, the Order Execution Policy, the complaints procedure, the privacy policy, both data processing terms and the Affiliate Agreement. Four files could not be read. The two promotion conditions, for "Cashback" and for "Up to 10% on account balance", and the Conflict of Interests Prevention Policy show scrambled letters, so none of them is quoted. The cashback rules come from RoboMarkets' own rebate page instead. The insurance certificate is a scan with no text in it, and the file RoboMarkets links is titled as confirmation of cover for 2024 to 2025. RoboMarkets Ltd in Cyprus and RoboMarkets Deutschland GmbH each publish a separate and larger contract set, including a Terms of Business, a client categorisation policy and an investor compensation notice. We listed those from the broker's own document pages and did not read them, so every clause quoted here comes from the Seychelles set. No earlier copy of the Seychelles Client Agreement is available, so we cannot say what changed in it.

How to check any of this yourself

Every quote above links to the RoboMarkets file it came from. This is what to do with it.

Open the three stepsFind the words in the source, work out the fingerprint, and read what a difference does and does not prove.

Open the source and search for the words

Every quote has a link under it. Open the file, or the web page, and search it for the words we quote. The clause number next to the quote tells you where to look.

If the words are not there any more, the source may have changed after we read it. That is worth knowing too. We keep the date we read it, and a code worked out from its wording, so the quote stays checkable.

What a fingerprint is

A fingerprint is a code worked out from what a source says. Change one word and the code changes completely. We keep two codes for every file we read, and the panel on each source shows both.

The first is the code of the exact file we downloaded. The second is the code of its wording alone, with capital letters lowered and runs of spaces collapsed. When the same words are saved as a new file, the first code changes and the second one stays the same.

Only the first code can be worked out on your own computer. Save the file, then run one of these, putting the name of the file you saved where the example is. The panel on each source prints the command with that source's real file name already in it.

macOS or Linux:
  shasum -a 256 the-file-you-saved.pdf

Windows:
  certutil -hashfile the-file-you-saved.pdf SHA256

The two codes are different from each other, and they are not meant to match. Comparing one against the other proves nothing.

What a difference means, and what it does not

A different file code on its own proves nothing. A PDF saved again with a new date inside it is a new file saying exactly the same thing.

A different wording code means the words themselves changed. That is the one that matters, and it is why we keep it.

Even then, a change is not proof of bad faith. Companies update their documents. What this report says is what the document said on the day we read it, and every quote carries that date.

A source that is a web page and not a file has no file to save, so only the code of its wording is shown.

How this report is made

Every clause quoted above comes from a document RoboMarkets publishes on its own website, downloaded and hashed on the date shown, with the clause number and page recorded so any reader can check it. We do not allege anything the documents do not say, and we do not judge RoboMarkets on anything other than its own published terms and its own public marketing. Where a clause has a qualifier that softens it, the report says so. Last read Oct 14, 2026.

If you represent RoboMarkets and a clause has changed, been withdrawn, or is being read out of context, tell us and we will re-read the documents and update this page. Corrections from the broker are welcome and are published with the reading they change. Contact us.

This is a reading of a contract, not legal advice and not a ruling on RoboMarkets. Whether its licence is real and current is a separate check on the broker profile.
