Close a winning trade less than 180 seconds after opening it and RRR Capital keeps the profit. The Product Statement calls every such trade scalping, whatever your reason for closing it, and says the profit will not be paid.
Why this matters
A three minute stopwatch decides whether you are paid. Take profit on a news spike, or close fast to cut a loss, and RRR Capital can treat that trade as a breach and keep what you made.
Exhibit 1Every flagged clause gets its own number so you can point at this one. The number does not change, so a link to it keeps working.CriticalHow much this clause can cost you, in our reading. Critical can take your money or your profit. Warning can delay or limit it. Notice is simply worth knowing before you sign.Rarely seenHow ordinary this wording looks next to the contracts we read. This is our reading of the clause, not a count of other brokers.180The figure this clause puts a number on, taken from the broker's own words.
Scalping is strictly prohibited. Any trade closed within 180 seconds will be treated as scalping and any profit earned out of such trading will not be paid.
What it costsThe same clause worked out on a round number, so you can see it in money or in days. It is an example, not a quotation.A trade opened and closed 170 seconds later with $400 of profit pays you nothing. The same trade closed 11 seconds later pays the full $400.
Our readingOur own comment on the clause, not the broker's words. Anything we quote is marked as a quotation. Most agreements that restrict scalping tie it to proven abuse, such as exploiting a stale price feed or a latency gap. This clause needs no abuse at all. A clock alone decides, so an ordinary trade held for 179 seconds loses its profit and the same trade held for 181 seconds keeps it.
- Worse together with Exhibit 12Read these two clauses together. Each one costs more because the other exists.RRR Capital says it passes every order to outside liquidity providers, which would leave it nothing to lose on a fast trade, yet it still keeps the profit from one.
