Is Spider Forex a scam?

High risk (unverified)MEDIUM confidence
Updated August 16, 2026
Offshore broker, lapsed licence, withdrawal/profit-confiscation reports, now defunct

Spider Forex is a high-risk operation, not a safe broker: it held only a weak offshore Mauritius licence that has now lapsed, there are credible reports of blocked withdrawals and reset profits, and the website has gone dark and is up for sale.

  • Run by Spider Capital Investment Ltd of Port Louis, Mauritius. We confirmed this is the real company (not a clone) on the Mauritius regulator's own register.
  • Its only licence was a low-tier Mauritius FSC Investment Dealer licence granted in November 2024. The regulator now records it as 'Licence Lapsed on 01 January 2026'.
  • The site kept taking deposits for months after the licence lapsed, then the domain was dropped and now shows a 'for sale' auction page.
  • A trader posted a company letter that suspended their account and 'permanently banned' all pending withdrawals while resetting profits. A later reviewer said they could not withdraw and linked it to a partner brand.
  • Positive reviews are a short burst of generic praise from brand-new accounts, and the site claimed a 4.9/5 rating while the real score is 3.1.

Regulation

8/10 · Critical

Only ever held a weak offshore Mauritius dealer licence, now lapsed since 01 Jan 2026, and kept operating without a valid licence.

Identity & transparency

4/10 · Moderate

Real, disclosed entity and a registered address that matches the FSC register; but ownership is undisclosed and the operation is now abandoned.

Withdrawals & conduct

6/10 · High

Credible fund-integrity reports including a quoted letter banning all pending withdrawals and resetting profits, though limited in number and mostly one platform.

Reputation

6/10 · High

Trustpilot 3.1 with an astroturf-style positive burst and scam accusations tying it to a partner brand.

Website claims

5/10 · Moderate

Advertised a 4.9/5 rating that does not match the real 3.1, and vague longevity claims; no fabricated tier-1 licence claim seen.

Operational history

4/10 · Moderate

Domain from 2020 and brand since 2023 (multi-year), but the company could not be dated and the site is now defunct and for sale.

Regulation

Who really oversees this broker, and what each licence is worth to you.

No proof found

Proof of regulation on an official register: No

We could not confirm this broker on any genuine regulator’s register.

Financial Services Commission (FSC), Mauritius

Lapsed. Recorded on the FSC Mauritius register as 'Licence Lapsed on 01 January 2026'; the firm continued operating after that date.Tier 3
A genuine but low-tier offshore Investment Dealer (Full Service Dealer excluding Underwriting) licence recorded on the FSC register; GB24203499 is the firm's reported Mauritius Global Business registration number. It permits a brokerage but gives limited client-fund protection, and it has now lapsed.
Protection: Weak offshore protection when active; none now that the licence has lapsed.Official register

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

We rate this high risk because the one real protection it once had is gone and the conduct reports point to fund problems.

  • The licence has lapsed. The Mauritius FSC register shows Spider Capital Investment Ltd held an Investment Dealer licence from 14 November 2024, but it is now marked 'Licence Lapsed on 01 January 2026'. A Mauritius dealer licence is a low-tier offshore permission with limited protection even when active; lapsed, it gives none.
  • It kept operating without a valid licence. Archived copies of the site show it live and taking deposits through June 2026, months after the licence lapsed.
  • Fund-integrity reports. One trader published a letter from Spider Capital that suspended their account for vague 'suspicious activity' and 'permanently banned' all pending withdrawals while resetting profits. A second reviewer in February 2026 said they could not withdraw and called it a scammer alongside a partner brand.
  • The operation has gone dark. The domain was dropped and now shows a GoDaddy 'for sale' auction page, a common ending for offshore brokers that wind down.
  • Weak reputation signals. The public Trustpilot score is 3.1, the positive reviews arrived as a short June to July 2024 burst from single-review accounts, and the site advertised a 4.9/5 rating that does not match reality.

We stop short of calling it a confirmed scam: the fund-access complaints are real and specific but limited in number and mostly on one platform, and no regulator warning names the firm. The age figure rests on the domain because the company itself could not be dated, so it is an upper bound.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

In fairness to the company, several points cut the other way.

  • This is a genuine, identifiable Mauritius company, not a clone. The address on the regulator's register matches the website exactly.
  • It did hold a real FSC Investment Dealer licence for a period, which is more than many offshore brokers ever obtain.
  • Some long-term users reported smooth deposits and withdrawals and praised the training and support.
  • A lapsed licence can reflect a business winding down rather than theft, and an offshore licence alone is a risk tier, not proof of fraud.
  • The heaviest single complaint comes from one account, and the partner-brand complaint is from a user of the other brand rather than a direct Spider client.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

Our view would move if new facts appeared.

  • Worse: a regulator warning naming spiderforex.com, or several fresh withdrawal-refusal reports across more than one platform, would push this toward likely or confirmed scam.
  • Worse: proof the operators relaunched the same business under a new brand or domain while old clients remain unpaid.
  • Better: documented evidence that pending withdrawals were paid out, or that the FSC licence was reinstated and the firm resumed under supervision.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

11 questions
Is Spider Forex a scam?

We rate it high risk rather than a confirmed scam. Its only licence has lapsed, it kept taking deposits without one, and there are credible reports of blocked withdrawals and reset profits. The site is now parked and for sale, so treat it as unsafe.

Is Spider Forex regulated?

Not currently. Spider Capital Investment Ltd held a Mauritius FSC Investment Dealer licence granted in November 2024, but the regulator now records it as lapsed since 1 January 2026. It has no licence from any major regulator such as the FCA, ASIC or CySEC.

Can I withdraw my money from Spider Forex?

That is the main concern. One trader published a company letter that suspended their account and permanently banned all pending withdrawals, and another said they could not withdraw. With the site now offline and for sale, getting money out may be very difficult.

Is my money safe with Spider Forex?

No. An offshore Mauritius licence gives limited protection even when active, and this one has lapsed. There is no meaningful compensation scheme, and the operation appears to have shut down.

Who owns Spider Forex?

The operating company is Spider Capital Investment Ltd, registered in Port Louis, Mauritius, with Intrasia Management (Mauritius) Limited listed as its management company. The individual owners are not disclosed on the site.

How old is Spider Forex?

The domain spiderforex.com was registered in 2020, and the Spider Capital brand has been on the site since at least 2023. The company itself could not be dated precisely, so the age is best treated as an upper bound.

What is a Mauritius FSC Investment Dealer licence worth?

It is a low-tier offshore authorisation. It permits a brokerage business but offers far weaker client-fund protection than tier-1 regulators. In this case the licence has also lapsed, so it protects nothing now.

Is Spider Forex a clone of another broker?

No. We confirmed the company name and registered address against the Mauritius regulator's own register, and they match the website. This is a genuine entity, not an impersonator.

What is 'Crib Markets' and how is it linked?

A Trustpilot reviewer described Crib Markets and Spider Capital as partner companies and scammers, and said Crib Markets' Trustpilot widget redirects to Spider Forex's page. We could not fully verify the link, but it is a reason for extra caution.

What should I do if I was scammed by Spider Forex?

Gather your records, request withdrawals in writing, and do not pay any upfront fee to release funds. Report the loss to the Mauritius FSC and your local regulator, and ask your bank or card provider about a chargeback.

What should I check before depositing with any broker?

Confirm a current licence on the regulator's own register, check that the registered entity and website match, read recent independent reviews for withdrawal problems, and avoid brokers that pressure you or ask for crypto-only deposits.

What we recommend

The practical takeaway from everything above.

Our advice

Treat Spider Forex as an unregulated, defunct operation and do not send it money.

  • Do not open an account or deposit; the site is parked and the licence has lapsed.
  • If you already have funds there, request a full withdrawal in writing, keep all records, and do not pay any 'tax', 'fee' or 'unlock' charge asked for before a payout.
  • Consider a card or bank chargeback and report the loss to the Mauritius FSC and to your local financial regulator.
  • Be wary of any 'recovery' service that contacts you about this broker, and of related brands using the same operators.
