Independent safety report

Is StreamForex a scam?

High risk (unverified)MEDIUM confidence
Updated August 31, 2026
Unregulated offshore broker (no forex licence)

StreamForex is a high-risk, unregulated offshore broker: it takes client deposits but holds no forex licence from any real financial regulator. The brand itself is old, but the company that actually holds your money is new and sits in a jurisdiction that does not supervise forex.

  • The operator is StreamCapital Ltd, a Saint Lucia International Business Company (registration 2024-00555). That is a company registration, not a trading licence, and Saint Lucia licenses no forex brokers.
  • The website has run since 2012, but the current legal entity was only incorporated in 2024, and the operation was previously tied to Saint Vincent (SVG) before moving to Saint Lucia.
  • Traders report accounts being blocked when they try to withdraw, including one case where a $496 profit could not be taken out.
  • There is no compensation scheme and no segregated-account protection you can rely on if the firm refuses to pay.
  • We found no evidence it is pretending to be a different regulated firm, so this is a weak-regulation risk rather than a confirmed theft.

Risk scorecard

Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.

Worst area: High
SeverityLowModerateHighCritical

Regulation

7/10 · High

Takes client deposits with no forex licence at all. Only a Saint Lucia company registration, which is not regulation and offers no protection.

Identity & transparency

5/10 · Moderate

Discloses entity, registration number and address, but the address is a registered-agent office, ownership is undisclosed, and the entity was re-domiciled from SVG.

Withdrawals & conduct

5/10 · Moderate

A specific blocked-account-on-withdrawal case ($496) plus general delay reports, mixed with positive payout reports. Fund-integrity pattern present but not confirmed systematic.

Reputation

6/10 · High

Mixed reviews, low aggregator scores, an unconfirmed international investor-alert entry, offset by long presence and some satisfied users.

Website claims

5/10 · Moderate

Presents a Saint Lucia registration as being 'regulated', which overstates it. The 'since 2012' claim is honest and backed by the domain history.

Operational history

6/10 · High

Domain verified live since 2012, but the current money-holding entity was incorporated in 2024, so the effective operating history is short.

Who they are

A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.

  • Brand: StreamForex
  • Legal entity: StreamCapital Ltd (Saint Lucia International Business Company, registration 2024-00555)
  • Registered: Ground Floor, The Sotheby Building, Rodney Village, Rodney Bay, Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia (a common registered-agent address)
  • Website: streamforex.org (main); also streamforex.net, live since 2012, and a Russian-language variant streamforex.com.ru
  • Only licence: None. A Saint Lucia company registration only, which is not a forex or financial-services licence
  • Offers: around 45 FX pairs, 15 cryptocurrencies, CFDs on stocks, indices and commodities, MetaTrader-style platform, copy trading, bonuses, minimum deposit about $5
  • Not accepted: USA, Japan, Canada, Australia, Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Liberia
  • Age claim: copyright reads 'since 2012'. The domain confirms 2012, but the current legal entity was incorporated in 2024

Regulation

Who really oversees this broker, and what each licence is worth to you.

No proof found

Proof of regulation on an official register: No

We could not confirm this broker on any genuine regulator’s register.

Saint Lucia (International Business Company registration)

VerifiedNot a forex licenceLimited relevance
A Saint Lucia company registration (StreamCapital Ltd, No. 2024-00555). This is a company incorporation record, not a financial-services or forex licence. Saint Lucia issues no forex broker licences and runs no investor-protection scheme.
Protection: None. Client funds are not covered by any regulator or compensation scheme.

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

We rate StreamForex high risk because the firm takes deposits with no real regulation, while the entity that holds client money is only about two years old.

  • No valid licence. The broker's own legal pages name StreamCapital Ltd and say only that it follows Saint Lucia anti-money-laundering law. No financial regulator, licence number or compensation scheme is named, because Saint Lucia does not license forex brokers. The homepage line that it is 'regulated by the laws of Saint Lucia' dresses a company registration up as regulation.
  • Old brand, new company. The streamforex.net domain has run continuously since 2012, so the 'since 2012' claim is genuine on the brand side. But the company taking deposits, StreamCapital Ltd, was incorporated in 2024, and in 2022 the operation was tied to Saint Vincent (SVG) before moving to Saint Lucia. A client depositing today deals with a fresh, unregulated Saint Lucia shell, not a fourteen-year-old regulated firm.
  • Withdrawal problems. One trader described the platform blocking their account when they tried to withdraw a $496 profit, and other reviews describe delayed or unanswered withdrawals. These are mixed with some positive payout reports, so the pattern is real but not a confirmed systematic freeze.
  • Why the figure is 65 and not lower. Our evidence-based score was in the low sixties. Because the current money-holding entity is under three years old and unregulated, we raise the published figure to 65. This reflects a young, unprotected operation, not misconduct we proved. We did not confirm any clone, fake tier-1 licence or systematic fund theft.
  • Open lead. An international regulator-alert aggregator lists an entry for StreamForex, but that portal could not be opened during this review, so we did not rely on it.

Evidence ledger

Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.

6 against1 in favour
  • E1The streamforex.net domain was registered on 2012-09-05 and archived snapshots show it running as StreamForex continuously from November 2012 onward, so the brand is genuinely long-established on the domain side.

    StrongVerisign RDAP and Internet Archive
  • E2The broker's legal page names StreamCapital Ltd, a Saint Lucia International Business Company (registration 2024-00555) at the Sotheby Building, Rodney Bay, and claims no financial regulator. Saint Lucia issues no forex licences, so the operation takes deposits without a valid licence.

    StrongStreamForex legal page
  • E3The main site describes the firm as 'regulated by the laws of Saint Lucia', presenting a company registration as if it were financial regulation, while the legal documents name no supervisor.

    ModerateStreamForex website
  • E4A trader from Malaysia reported that StreamForex blocked the account when withdrawing a $496 profit in September 2022, a fund-integrity complaint with a specific amount and date.

    ModerateBrokersView complaint
  • E5The current contracting entity StreamCapital Ltd carries the registration number 2024-00555, indicating a 2024 incorporation, even though the brand dates to 2012. The entity holding client money is under three years old.

    ModerateStreamForex legal page
  • E6In 2022 the same StreamForex brand and domain were described as registered with Saint Vincent (SVG FSA), which does not regulate forex, before the move to a Saint Lucia company. The move did not add any real regulation.

  • E7The operation targets CIS clients (Yandex nameservers, UTC+3 support hours, a Russian-language streamforex.com.ru site) plus Indonesian and Nigerian audiences, while holding no licence in any of those markets.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

In fairness to StreamForex, several points cut the other way.

  • The brand is genuinely long-running. The domain dates to 2012 and has operated continuously as StreamForex, which is unusual for a pure scam.
  • The firm is reasonably transparent about what it is. Its legal documents do not fake an FCA, CySEC or ASIC licence. They openly name a Saint Lucia company and claim no supervisor.
  • It discloses a legal entity, a registration number and a registered address, and the company appears in Saint Lucia records.
  • Some users report fast withdrawals and helpful support, so the withdrawal complaints are not universal.
  • Operating from a weak offshore jurisdiction is high risk, but it is not by itself proof of fraud. Hundreds of brokers run this way without stealing client funds.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

Our view would move up or down on any of the following.

  • Worse: a named regulator warning that lists streamforex.org or streamforex.net, or several fresh, specific and independent complaints showing accounts frozen or extra 'fees' demanded before payout, would push this toward likely scam.
  • Worse: proof the firm quotes a licence number that belongs to a different company.
  • Better: a genuine, verifiable licence from a real regulator (for example CySEC, FCA or FSCA) tied to StreamCapital Ltd and this website.
  • Better: a clear, sustained record of clients withdrawing without obstruction, and the firm resolving the existing complaints publicly.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

12 questions
Is StreamForex a scam?

We did not confirm outright fraud, but we rate it high risk. It takes deposits with no real regulation, the company holding client money is only about two years old, and some traders report blocked withdrawals. Treat it with caution.

Is StreamForex regulated?

No. It holds no forex or financial-services licence. It is only registered as a Saint Lucia International Business Company, and Saint Lucia does not license or supervise forex brokers.

What is StreamCapital Ltd?

It is the legal company behind StreamForex, incorporated in Saint Lucia in 2024 with registration number 2024-00555. It is a company registration, not a trading licence.

Can I withdraw my money from StreamForex?

Some users report normal withdrawals, but others describe delays, unanswered requests, and at least one account being blocked when a profit was withdrawn. Because there is no regulator, you have little recourse if payment is refused.

Is my money safe with StreamForex?

There is no regulator, no investor compensation scheme and no enforceable segregated-account protection. If the firm refuses to pay, there is no supervisor to compel it. That makes deposits high risk.

Where is StreamForex based?

The contracting company is incorporated in Saint Lucia. The operation itself looks CIS and emerging-market focused, using Russian infrastructure and language and a Russian regional site, plus Indonesian and Nigerian versions, and it lists a UK phone number.

How old is StreamForex?

The brand and its main domain date to 2012, so the brand is genuinely long-running. However, the current legal entity that holds client funds was only incorporated in 2024, so the operation you deposit with today is about two years old.

Is a Saint Lucia registration the same as a forex licence?

No. A Saint Lucia International Business Company registration simply creates a company. It does not authorise anyone to run a regulated brokerage, and it gives clients no protection. Saint Lucia issues no forex licences.

Was StreamForex registered somewhere else before?

Yes. In 2022 the operation was tied to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG FSA), which also does not regulate forex. It later moved to a Saint Lucia company. The brand and website stayed the same across the move.

Is StreamForex a clone of another broker?

We found no evidence of that. StreamForex uses its own name and does not appear to copy the identity or licence number of a known regulated firm.

What should I check before depositing with StreamForex?

Check for a real regulator licence you can verify on the regulator's own register, test a small withdrawal first, read recent independent reviews about payouts, and confirm exactly which company and country would hold your funds.

What do I do if StreamForex will not release my funds?

Do not pay any extra fee or tax to unlock a withdrawal. Save all records, raise a formal complaint with the broker, contact your bank or card provider about a chargeback, and report it to your local financial regulator.

What we recommend

The practical takeaway from everything above.

Our advice

Treat StreamForex as high risk and protect your money first.

  • Do not deposit funds you cannot afford to lose. There is no regulator or compensation scheme behind this broker.
  • If you already have a balance, test a small withdrawal before adding more, and keep records of every deposit and request.
  • Never pay any extra 'tax', 'fee' or 'insurance' that is demanded before a withdrawal is released. That is a classic advance-fee trap.
  • Prefer brokers licensed by a tier-1 regulator (FCA, ASIC, CySEC and similar) that keep client funds in segregated accounts.
  • If your funds are blocked, gather your evidence and report it to your local financial regulator and your payment provider.

This is an independent assessment of risk, not a legal ruling. Scores and verdicts follow the Wikilix broker-safety methodology and can change as new evidence appears.
