Risk scorecard
Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.
Regulation
7/10 · HighNo licence confirmed in any jurisdiction while taking retail deposits: absent from the Mauritius register as an investment dealer, and the Saint Vincent number is a company registration from an authority that licenses no forex.
Identity & transparency
3/10 · LowRegistry entry matches the published entity, number and address exactly, the chief executive and backer are named and traceable, and each group company is disclosed separately, though the money holding company is an offshore shell at a mass registration address.
Withdrawals & conduct
6/10 · HighCredible fund integrity reports with account numbers, an amount and a May 2026 date describing withdrawals held, accounts blocked and profits reversed, but evidenced on one platform only, so the pattern is unconfirmed.
Reputation
6/10 · HighNet positive on raw numbers across 192 reviews, but the profile is flagged for a guidelines breach with fake reviews removed and the 78% against 19% split is bimodal, so the positive side carries little weight; no regulator warning anywhere.
Website claims
8/10 · CriticalPresents an unconfirmed Mauritius authorisation and a company registration as licences, and advertises 200 billion dollars of monthly volume and 20,000 clients with nothing to evidence either.
Operational history
3/10 · LowAbout four years verified from the domain registration and the company incorporation, continuous single brand archive history, no predecessor brand and no warning history to carry forward.

Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
Two separate regulatory claims do not hold up, and that is what drives the score. The business behind them, however, is real, which is why this is high risk rather than a scam finding.
- The Mauritius claim could not be confirmed. The FSC Mauritius Online Public Register is searchable by name and matches on any part of a name. Searches for Tauro, Global Tauro and JM Financial return no investment dealer by that name. The register is current, with entries dated to 1 October 2026, and it does carry offshore global business dealers, including one licensed in December 2020. The FSC list of surrendered licences does not name the company either, so this is not a licence that lapsed.
- The Saint Vincent claim is self-refuting. The authority named there issues no forex or brokerage licences of any kind. Its own company registry records number 2496 as an LLC company registration, active since 17 August 2022. A company registration is not financial regulation, and describing it as a licence from the Financial Services Authority is a misstatement of what it is.
- The wording was upgraded over time. The March 2024 version of the homepage described the Saint Vincent position as a corporation number and nothing more. The number has not changed. The claim to be licensed by the authority was added afterwards.
- Deposits are taken worldwide with no confirmed licence. Accounts open from 100 dollars with no authorisation we could verify in any jurisdiction, which leaves clients with no capital requirement, no client money rules and no complaints body behind their balance.
- Clients describe money not coming back. On Trustpilot the one star reviews, about 19% of 192, are dominated by withdrawals held or refused, accounts blocked on compliance grounds while holding a balance, and profitable trades being reversed while losing trades stood. Several cite account numbers and one cites 2,032 dollars of withheld profit, with a case dated May 2026. That is checkable and it describes one consistent failure, but we could evidence it on a single platform, so we record the pattern as unconfirmed rather than established.
- The positive side of the record is not reliable. The review profile is flagged for a breach of platform guidelines and fake reviews have been removed from it. The distribution is 78% five star against 19% one star with almost nothing in between, which is the shape reputation management leaves rather than the shape real customers leave.
- What pulls the score down. No regulator anywhere warns about this domain. The company is real, active and correctly described on the registry. The parent group is funded by named investors and reported on by the financial trade press. There is a genuine MetaTrader 5 server behind the platform. The track record is about four years under one brand with no predecessor and no rebrand away from a bad history. None of that makes an unlicensed broker safe, but it does separate this from an anonymous shell.
Evidence ledger
Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1The FSC Mauritius public register returns no investment dealer named Tauro, Global Tauro or JM Financial, while the site advertises Global Tauro Ltd as an investment dealer authorised and regulated by that commission under GB24202909. The register matches on any part of a name, is current to 1 October 2026, and does list offshore global business dealers licensed as far back as December 2020.
E2The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines registry records number 2496 as JM Financial LLC, entity type LLC Limited Liability Company, status active, incorporated 17 August 2022, registered agent Wilfred Services Ltd. The site presents that same number as a licence from the Financial Services Authority, which issues no forex or brokerage licences.
E3The firm own legal wording states that Global Tauro Ltd is an investment dealer authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius under Licence No. GB24202909, and that JM Financial LLC is licensed by the Financial Services Authority of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines under Corporation Number 2496 LLC 2022.
E4The March 2024 version of the homepage described the Saint Vincent position only as a brokerage services firm with Corporation number 2496 LLC 2022, with no claim of a licence from the authority and no mention of Mauritius. The number has not changed since; the licensed by the Financial Services Authority wording was added later.
E5192 customer reviews split 78% five star against 19% one star with almost nothing between. The profile is flagged for a breach of platform guidelines and fake reviews have been removed. One star reviews describe withdrawals held or refused after verification was reset, accounts blocked on compliance grounds while holding a balance, profits reversed, and bonus credit lost, several citing account numbers and one citing 2,032 dollars, with a case dated May 2026.
E6The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Financial Services Authority investor alert list names other firms during 2026, including warnings issued in February, May and July, but does not name Tauro Markets, JM Financial LLC or Global Tauro Ltd.
ModerateSVG FSA investor alertsE7Synervest Group of Abu Dhabi, described as the financial backer of Tauro Markets, raised 4 million dollars in a Series A led by Jura Investment Group with existing investor CMT Digital participating, valuing the group at 60 million dollars, double its valuation a year earlier. Alexander Oelfke is named as founding partner.
ModerateFinance Magnates, 24 July 2025E8The FSC Mauritius list of surrendered licences, filterable by year back to 2013, contains no entry for Global Tauro Ltd or any company named Tauro, so the absence from the register is not explained by a licence that was given up or withdrawn.
E9tauromarkets.com was registered on 4 October 2022 through GoDaddy and runs on Amazon nameservers, which is consistent with the Saint Vincent company incorporated in August 2022 and gives a verified operating age of about four years.
E10Archive coverage shows 21 distinct captures of the site from 26 March 2024 onward, all under the Tauro Markets brand, with no earlier unrelated business and no predecessor brand on the domain.
E11The Mauritius site discloses a further group company, Global Tauro Solutions Ltd, registered in Cyprus under number HE495599 at 30 Arsinoes Street, Limassol, and states plainly that it does not offer regulated financial products or provide trading services.
E12A press release dated 4 October 2024 announces the platform launch with financial backing from Synervest Group and names Alexander Oelfke as chief executive of Tauro Markets. It names no regulator and no licence.
E13Certificate records for the domain list the operational estate, including a partners portal, a PAMM service, a separate Mauritius stack with its own web trader, a lead assignment service and a Kuwait operations console, indicating a sales driven operation run out of Kuwait alongside the offshore contracting company.
E14The firm regulation and legal pages publish no verification link to either register, so a client is asked to accept the licence wording without a route to check it. The homepage also promotes MetaTrader 4 while the only trading server we could verify for this brand is a MetaTrader 5 server.
E15The homepage states that over 20,000 clients use the service and that the firm has a proven track record of handling an average of 200 billion dollars in monthly trading volume. Neither figure is supported by any disclosure, filing or third party record.
The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
The fair case for Tauro Markets is stronger than for most unlicensed brokers, and it deserves stating plainly.
- This is not an anonymous operation. The contracting company is named, is registered, and is active. Its registration number, entity type and registered address match what the site publishes, line for line. Nothing about the corporate identity is hidden or faked.
- There is real money and real governance behind it. Synervest Group of Abu Dhabi, the backer, raised 4 million dollars in a Series A led by Jura Investment Group with CMT Digital participating, at a 60 million dollar valuation, as reported by Finance Magnates in July 2025. Named investors pricing an equity round is not something a disposable scam attracts.
- Management is traceable. The chief executive is publicly named as Alexander Oelfke, with a verifiable background at established CFD firms, and the group has hired senior dealing staff from known brokers. There are no stock photo executives here.
- The platform is genuine. A real MetaTrader 5 server exists for this brand. Clients are trading on a real terminal, not a simulated one built to show fake prices.
- The group discloses more than it has to. It lists each entity and jurisdiction separately, labels its Cyprus company as one that does not offer regulated products or trading services, describes its Kuwait arm accurately as a commercial registration rather than a licence, publishes a restricted countries list, and shows a disclaimer telling European visitors it is not authorised in the European Union. That is the opposite of pretending to be regulated where it is not.
- No authority has acted against it. Sweeps of the international alert network and the British, American, Australian, Singaporean, German and Italian warning lists return nothing for this brand or domain, and the Saint Vincent authority has not named it in its own investor alerts, though it has named other firms this year.
- One name collision was checked and dismissed. There is a large listed Indian group called JM Financial, and several of its funds appear on the Mauritius register. The broker shares the words JM Financial in its Saint Vincent entity name, but it trades publicly as Tauro Markets and does not borrow that group identity, history or credentials. We found no impersonation.
- An innocent reading of Mauritius exists. A number in the GB24 form is consistent with a Mauritius global business licence, which is a corporate licence rather than permission to deal. If the company holds one of those, the number could be genuine while the description of it as an investment dealer authorisation is still wrong. We could not separate those two readings, and we have not called the number fabricated.
- Finally, the trade press has repeated these claims too. Coverage has stated that the broker holds licences in Mauritius, Kuwait and Saint Vincent. That shows how easily the claims travel unchecked, and it is a reason to go to the registers rather than a reason to doubt the registers.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
This verdict is about an absence of confirmed authorisation, so specific, checkable things would move it in either direction.
- Towards lower risk. Global Tauro Ltd appearing on the FSC Mauritius Online Public Register as a licensed investment dealer, with licence GB24202909 and a status of active, would remove the central finding and move this towards a straightforward offshore licensed broker.
- The company publishing a direct verification link to each register entry, so a client can check the licence in one click rather than take the footer on trust.
- Correcting the Saint Vincent wording to state what the registry actually records, a company registration rather than a licence, would remove a misstatement without costing the firm anything real.
- A sustained run of resolved withdrawal cases, and a review profile that is no longer flagged for a guidelines breach, would let the positive side of the record carry weight.
- Towards higher risk. A warning or alert from any regulator naming tauromarkets.com would be decisive and would take this well past high risk.
- A credible, specific report of clients being asked to pay a tax, fee or commission before their funds are released. We looked for this and did not find it tied to this operation, and it would change the picture sharply if it appeared.
- Fund complaints clustering into one tight window, or appearing with the same mechanism across a second and third independent platform, which would turn the current unconfirmed pattern into an established one.
- Confirmation from the FSC Mauritius that no licence of that number was issued to this company would settle the Mauritius question against the firm.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is Tauro Markets a scam?
We have not found enough to call it a scam, and we rate it high risk at 59%. It is a real, funded business with a real trading platform and a real registered company. The problem is that it takes deposits with no financial licence we could confirm, and it describes two things as licences when neither is one.
Is Tauro Markets a fraud?
No regulator or court has found fraud, and we make no such finding. Our sweeps of the international alert network and the British, American, Australian, Singaporean, German and Italian warning lists returned no entry for this brand or domain, and we found no fraud related court record naming the company. What we did find is misstated regulation and client reports of withdrawals being held, which we report as conduct rather than as a crime.
Is Tauro Markets regulated?
Not in any way we could confirm. The site names the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius and the Financial Services Authority of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The Mauritius register does not show the company as a licensed investment dealer, and the Saint Vincent authority does not issue forex licences at all.
What is the Saint Vincent licence number 2496 LLC 2022?
It is a company registration number, not a licence. The Saint Vincent registry records number 2496 as an LLC company registration for JM Financial LLC, active since 17 August 2022. Registering a company there carries no capital requirement, no client money rules and no trading supervision.
Does the Mauritius licence GB24202909 exist?
We could not confirm it. Searching the FSC Mauritius public register for Tauro, Global Tauro and JM Financial returns no investment dealer of that name, and the company is not on the FSC list of surrendered licences. A number in that form is consistent with a Mauritius global business corporate licence, which would not permit running a retail trading business, but we could not establish which applies.
Can I withdraw my money from Tauro Markets?
Many clients do, and the majority of reviews are positive. A significant minority report the opposite, with withdrawals held or refused after verification was reset, accounts blocked on compliance grounds while holding a balance, and profits removed. If you hold funds there, test a withdrawal with a modest amount and keep dated records.
Is my money safe with Tauro Markets?
Your money has no regulatory protection. The site says client funds sit in separate accounts with tier one banks, but with no confirmed licence there is no supervisor checking that, no compensation scheme and no ombudsman. If the firm refused to pay you, there is no financial regulator with authority over the trading activity to compel it.
Who owns Tauro Markets?
The brand runs through several companies. JM Financial LLC in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines contracts with clients of the main site, Global Tauro Ltd covers the Mauritius site, and a Kuwait company handles treasury. The backer is Synervest Group of Abu Dhabi, which raised 4 million dollars led by Jura Investment Group with CMT Digital. Alexander Oelfke is named publicly as chief executive.
How old is Tauro Markets?
About four years. The domain was registered on 4 October 2022 and the Saint Vincent company was incorporated on 17 August 2022. The platform was relaunched with new backing in October 2024. The site does not advertise a founding year, and its reference to two decades of experience describes its team rather than the firm.
Is Tauro Markets a clone of another broker?
No. We checked, and found no impersonation. Its registered name, number and address are its own and match the registry exactly. We also checked the coincidence with the large Indian group called JM Financial and found the broker does not borrow that group identity, licences or history.
Why does the site tell European visitors to leave?
Because it is not authorised anywhere in the European Union and says so in a pop up before you browse. That disclosure is honest, but it also tells you plainly that European investor protections do not apply to an account here.
What should I check before depositing with any broker?
Search the regulator own register for the exact licence number and confirm the entity name and the website match, then confirm the licence permits dealing rather than only advice. Check whether the company that holds your money is the licensed one. Read the withdrawal and bonus terms. Finally, search the domain rather than the brand name, because complaints follow domains.
What do I do if I cannot get my money out?
Put the complaint in writing to the firm and keep every dated record, including ticket numbers and amounts. Then file with the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Financial Services Authority, which accepts complaints about companies registered there. If you paid by card or bank transfer, ask your provider about a chargeback or recall. Never pay a fee to anyone promising to recover your funds.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
Treat this as an unregulated broker and size any exposure accordingly.
- Do not deposit money you cannot afford to lose. With no confirmed licence there is no compensation scheme, no client money rules and no ombudsman to appeal to if a withdrawal stalls.
- Do not rely on the regulation wording in the footer. Check the two registers yourself using the links below before you fund an account.
- If you already hold a balance, request a withdrawal of an amount you can test with, complete verification in full, and keep dated records of every request, ticket and reply.
- Never send a further payment to release a withdrawal. A tax, fee, commission or insurance payment demanded before funds are released is the clearest warning sign in this market, whoever asks for it.
- Be careful with deposit bonuses. Bonus credit that disappears against losses is a common source of dispute here, so read the margin bonus terms before accepting one.
- If a withdrawal is refused, complain in writing to the firm, then file with the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Financial Services Authority, which takes complaints about companies registered there even though it does not license forex activity.
- If you want regulatory protection, choose a broker authorised by a tier one authority instead, and verify it on that authority register before depositing.
This is an independent assessment of risk, not a legal ruling. Scores and verdicts follow the Wikilix broker-safety methodology and can change as new evidence appears. Review scores are treated with caution when a broker’s reviews look manipulated. Last reviewed October 3, 2026.
