Risk scorecard
Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.
Regulation
7/10 · HighHolds no licence of its own. The BAPPEBTI licence it advertises is registered to PT Panen Kapital Berjangka at a different address and a different website.
Identity & transparency
9/10 · CriticalTrades under a name the licensed entity abandoned, publishes that entity's superseded address and phone, discloses no current legal entity, and runs no mail server.
Withdrawals & conduct
4/10 · ModerateNo fund integrity reports found, but there is no verifiable client footprint either, so this dimension carries little information in either direction.
Reputation
7/10 · HighNo Trustpilot page and no organic reviews at all for a brand presenting as established since 2008. The independent assessments that do exist flag high risk.
Website claims
9/10 · CriticalPresents another company's active licence as its own and trades on 2008 heritage that belongs to the renamed licence holder, not to this operation.
Operational history
8/10 · CriticalComputed track record is about eleven months from the September 2025 domain registration, against an advertised heritage of 2008.
Who they are
A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.
- Brand: Universal Futures
- Legal entity: Not disclosed on any source we could open. No company called PT Universal Futures appears on BAPPEBTI's current list of licensed futures brokers.
- Registered: The site publishes APL Tower level 39 unit T-7, Jl. Letjen S. Parman Kav. 28, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta 11470. That was the address of PT Universal Futures before it renamed. The register now records the licence holder at Panen Tower level 5, Jl. Patal Senayan No. 31, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.
- Website: universal-futures.com. The origin server was not responding during our checks.
- Only licence: None of its own. It advertises BAPPEBTI 13/BAPPEBTI/SI/03/2008, which the register assigns to PT Panen Kapital Berjangka.
- Offers: Futures and options on MetaTrader 4, Standard, Professional and Micro accounts, minimum deposit around 100 US dollars, leverage up to 100:1.
- Not accepted: No restricted country list could be read, because the site was unreachable.
- Age claim: The brand trades on a 2008 licence. The current website dates from September 2025.

Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
The case turns on one check anyone can repeat on the regulator's own register.
- The licence is real, but it is not this website's. BAPPEBTI's entry for 13/BAPPEBTI/SI/03/2008 names PT PANEN KAPITAL BERJANGKA d/h PT. UNIVERSAL FUTURES. The letters d/h mean 'formerly'. The same entry records the licensed website as www.panenkapitalberjangka.co.id, the address as Panen Tower in South Jakarta, the phone as 021-21684233 and the email as [email protected]. None of those match universal-futures.com.
- No licensed broker uses this name any more. We pulled BAPPEBTI's complete list of licensed futures brokers. It contains 67 companies. The only one containing the word Universal is the renamed licence holder above.
- The licence has not been revoked, which matters. We read BAPPEBTI's full list of brokers whose permits were withdrawn. Neither Universal nor Panen appears there. So this is not a lapsed licence being reused. It is a live licence belonging to somebody else.
- The website is far younger than the brand it wears. Registry records show universal-futures.com was created on 22 September 2025 through NameSilo. An archived copy from May 2022 shows a holding page reading that the domain expired on 6 April 2022. The name lay dormant for about three and a half years before someone took it again.
- The contact details are the licensee's discarded ones. The APL Tower address and the 021-29181729 number published for this site match public listings of PT Universal Futures from before the rename. Reusing superseded details is how a dead brand is made to look current.
- There is no client footprint at all. Trustpilot returns no page for this domain. We found no substantive user reports, positive or negative, anywhere. A brokerage genuinely trading since 2008 does not leave nothing behind.
- The plumbing is not that of a deposit-taking firm. The domain publishes no mail server, and the site sits behind a content network with its origin offline.
One honest limit. The site would not load while we worked, so we could not read its licence wording from the site itself. Our record of what it claims comes from two independent third party listings that both name this exact domain and its [email protected] address. The register findings, which carry the verdict, are first hand.

E1BAPPEBTI's register entry for licence 13/BAPPEBTI/SI/03/2008 names PT PANEN KAPITAL BERJANGKA d/h PT. UNIVERSAL FUTURES, records its website as www.panenkapitalberjangka.co.id, its address as Panen Tower level 5, Jl. Patal Senayan No. 31, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, its phone as 021-21684233 and its email as [email protected]. None of these match universal-futures.com or the details that site publishes.
Hard proofBAPPEBTI registerE2BAPPEBTI's complete list of licensed Indonesian futures brokers contains 67 companies. The only entry containing the word Universal is the renamed licence holder. No currently licensed broker trades as Universal Futures.
E3BAPPEBTI's list of futures brokers whose licence was revoked contains 42 companies. Neither Universal Futures nor Panen Kapital Berjangka appears, confirming the licence was never withdrawn and remains live with the renamed company.
ModerateBAPPEBTI revoked licence listE4Registry records for universal-futures.com show the domain was created on 22 September 2025 through NameSilo, with an expiry of 22 September 2026 and Cloudflare nameservers. The current operation is under a year old.
StrongVerisign registry recordE5An archived copy of universal-futures.com from 3 May 2022 shows a holding page reading that the domain name expired on 6 April 2022, with generic advertising links. The name was dormant for about three and a half years before being registered again.
E6An independent broker listing records this operation's website as universal-futures.com and gives its licence claims as BAPPEBTI 13/BAPPEBTI/SI/03/2008 and Jakarta Futures Exchange SPAB-156/BBJ/09/07, while noting that regulatory confirmation from primary sources is unavailable. This ties the licence claims to the anchor domain.
ModerateGlobeGain broker listingE7Trustpilot returns no page for universal-futures.com. There are no reviews of any kind, positive or negative, for a brand presenting itself as trading since 2008.
ModerateTrustpilotE8The domain publishes no MX record, so it operates no mail server, which is unusual for a firm inviting client deposits and correspondence.
ModeratePublic DNS lookupE9The website's origin server did not respond during our checks, returning a content network error on both the home page and its English section, while the www address does not resolve at all.
ModerateUniversal Futures websiteE10Certificate transparency logs show certificates for universal-futures.com issued as recently as 2 August 2026, so the site was in active use shortly before our checks despite being unreachable now.

The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
The fair case for Universal Futures, and where it runs out.
- The licence number is not invented. 13/BAPPEBTI/SI/03/2008 is a real, active Indonesian futures licence. This is not a fabricated string, which is a meaningful difference from the crudest fakes.
- The brand has genuine history. PT Universal Futures was a properly licensed Indonesian broker from 2008. The heritage the name carries is real, it simply now belongs to the renamed company.
- A rename is an innocent event. Companies rebrand. We checked whether the licence holder might simply still run its old domain alongside the new one. Against that: BAPPEBTI records only panenkapitalberjangka.co.id as its website, the published address, phone and email all differ, and the domain was allowed to lapse for three and a half years before reappearing. Indonesian brokers must register the websites they solicit through, and this one is not registered.
- Absence of complaints is not guilt. We found no one alleging theft. We have not established that any client has lost money here, and we do not claim it.
- We could not read the site. Its server was down throughout. If its current pages do not in fact claim this licence, the central finding would need revisiting, though two independent listings recorded that claim against this domain.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
Concrete things that would move this verdict.
- BAPPEBTI's register recording universal-futures.com as an approved website for licence 13/BAPPEBTI/SI/03/2008. That single change would answer the main finding.
- PT Panen Kapital Berjangka publicly confirming that it owns and operates this domain as a second brand.
- The site publishing a current legal entity, registration number and address that reconcile with the register entry.
- A separate BAPPEBTI licence issued in the name of whatever company actually operates this website.
- Conversely, a BAPPEBTI or Kominfo blocking notice naming universal-futures.com, or credible client reports of withdrawals being refused, would push this to a confirmed scam finding.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is Universal Futures a scam?
We rate it a likely scam. The Indonesian futures licence it advertises is genuine but belongs to a different company, PT Panen Kapital Berjangka, and to a different website. We could not find any licence issued to whoever runs universal-futures.com.
Is Universal Futures regulated by BAPPEBTI?
No. Licence 13/BAPPEBTI/SI/03/2008 exists and is active, but BAPPEBTI's register assigns it to PT Panen Kapital Berjangka, whose registered website is panenkapitalberjangka.co.id. The register does not connect that licence to universal-futures.com.
What happened to the original PT Universal Futures?
It renamed. BAPPEBTI's entry reads PT PANEN KAPITAL BERJANGKA d/h PT. UNIVERSAL FUTURES, where d/h means formerly. The same legal entity kept the 2008 licence, moved to Panen Tower in South Jakarta and now trades under a new brand.
Can I withdraw my money from Universal Futures?
We found no client reports either way, so we cannot tell you from experience. What we can say is that the site is not the registered website of any licensed broker, so Indonesia's client fund protections and its segregated account rules do not attach to it.
Is my money safe with this broker?
We would not treat it as safe. Licensed Indonesian brokers must hold client money in segregated accounts named on the register. Those accounts belong to the licence holder, which is a different company at a different address, not to this website.
Who owns Universal Futures?
We could not establish it. The site names no current legal entity we could verify, publishes no working mail server, and its server was offline during our checks. That lack of a disclosed operator is itself a warning sign for a firm asking for deposits.
How old is Universal Futures?
The website is about eleven months old. Registry records show universal-futures.com was created on 22 September 2025. The 2008 date the brand leans on belongs to the licence, which is held by the renamed company.
Did this website exist before 2025?
An earlier site used the same domain years ago, but it lapsed. An archived copy from May 2022 shows a holding page stating the domain expired on 6 April 2022. It was dormant for roughly three and a half years before being registered again.
Is Universal Futures a clone?
It has the hallmarks of one. It trades under a name the licensed company abandoned, quotes that company's live licence number, and publishes that company's former office address and phone number. The register shows all of those now point somewhere else.
What is the JFX licence SPAB-156/BBJ/09/07 worth?
That format is a genuine Jakarta Futures Exchange membership number, but exchange membership is not a standalone licence and it would attach to the same renamed legal entity. We could not open the exchange's member register to confirm its current holder.
What should I check before depositing with any Indonesian broker?
Open BAPPEBTI's own register and find the entry. The licence number, the exact company name and the website address must all appear together on one entry. If the website you are on is not the one printed on the register, walk away.
What do I do if I already sent money?
Stop sending anything further, especially if you are asked to pay a tax, fee or insurance to release a withdrawal. Save transfer receipts, chat logs and emails, tell your bank or payment provider, and file a report with BAPPEBTI.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
Treat this site as unlicensed until the register says otherwise.
- Do not deposit money with universal-futures.com.
- Check any Indonesian futures broker yourself on BAPPEBTI's own register before sending funds. The licence number, the company name and the website must all match on one entry.
- If you were dealing with a firm called Universal Futures, note that the licensed company behind that former name now trades under a different name and a different website. Confirm directly with the licence holder before acting.
- If you have already deposited, stop sending further payments, keep records of transfers and correspondence, and report to BAPPEBTI.
- Be especially wary of any request for an extra payment, tax or fee before a withdrawal is released. That is the classic advance fee pattern.
