Risk scorecard
Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.
Regulation
7/10 · HighReal licences confirmed on the UK, Mauritius and Vanuatu registers, but the global site is on the FCA warning list and the AMF blacklist and was ordered to cease in Italy, and most clients contract with an offshore entity carrying no compensation scheme.
Identity & transparency
5/10 · ModerateEntities, numbers and addresses are disclosed and match the registers, with verifiable offices, but two regulators state the global site is not the licensed firm and filings reportedly describe the regulated and unregulated arms as under common control.
Withdrawals & conduct
6/10 · HighA consistent fund-integrity pattern across two platforms, with amounts and case numbers, of profitable accounts frozen or adjusted at withdrawal, offset by an independent dispute body that ordered refunds and a firm that answers 99 percent of negative reviews.
Reputation
6/10 · HighMixed: 4.4 out of 5 across 15,677 reviews and a large genuine client base, set against regulator actions in three jurisdictions, a central bank warning list entry and critical investigative press coverage.
Website claims
5/10 · ModerateThe licences quoted are real and attributed to named entities with risk warnings and regional restrictions published, but the global site foregrounds Australian and South African authorisations that do not cover the offshore company taking the money, and it ran a French page the AMF blacklisted.
Operational history
2/10 · LowAbout 14 years verified from independent records: the Australian company on the business register since April 2012 and the original brand domain registered in November 2009, with the name history documented on the FCA register.
Who they are
A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.
Vantage is one of the larger retail CFD brands, run through a group of companies rather than a single firm. Which company holds your money depends on where you live.
- Brand: Vantage, formerly Vantage FX. The FCA register records 'Vantage FX' as a trading name from 26 October 2020 and 'Vantage Markets' from 5 January 2022.
- Legal entity (our record): Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd, ACN 157 768 566, active on the Australian Business Register since 12 April 2012.
- Operator of the global site: VIG Group, licensed in Mauritius, at Suite 201, The Catalyst, 40 Silicon Avenue, Ebene Cybercity. Vanuatu-registered Vantage Global Limited also publishes its own client agreement.
- Registered: Sydney (Level 12, 15 Castlereagh Street), London (Centurion House, 37 Jewry Street, for the FCA-authorised LLP), Cape Town, Port Vila, Ebene, and a Cyprus company that handles payments only.
- Website: vantagemarkets.com for most of the world; vantagemarkets.co.uk is the FCA-authorised UK site named on the FCA register.
- Licences: FCA 590299 (UK entity), ASIC AFSL 428901 (Australia), Mauritius FSC investment dealer GB20026165, FSCA 51268 (South Africa), VFSC 700271 (Vanuatu), CIMA 1383491 (Cayman).
- Offers: forex, indices, shares, commodities, bonds and crypto CFDs on MetaTrader 4 and 5, from a 50 dollar minimum. Leverage reaches 1:2000 under the offshore entity against 1:30 for FCA and ASIC retail clients.
- Not accepted: residents of India, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States, plus FATF-listed jurisdictions. Visitors from Germany are asked to click an acknowledgement that they arrived on their own initiative.
- Age claim: founded 2009. The original domain vantagefx.com was registered on 20 November 2009, and the Australian company dates from April 2012, so the operating record works out at about 14 years.

Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
This is a real brokerage with real licences, so the question is not whether it exists but how much protection a client actually gets. Three regulators have answered part of that for us.
- The warnings name this broker's own domain, not a copy of it. The FCA warning list entry published on 2 April 2026 is titled vantagemarkets.com and says the firm may be providing or promoting financial services without FCA permission, adding that it is not associated with authorised firm Vantage Global Prime LLP. France's AMF blacklisted www.vantagemarkets.com/fr/ on 12 June 2026 for offering financial services without authorisation. Italy's CONSOB resolution 22587 of 8 February 2023 ordered Vantage Global Limited to stop the services it provided through vantagefx.com, vantagemarkets.com and secure.vantagemarkets.com, noting an Italian-language site and reported cold calling of Italian retail investors. Later Italian resolutions named further Vantage domains carrying the same content.
- The regulated and unregulated arms are not as separate as the presentation suggests. An investigation published by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism on 26 August 2026 reported that corporate filings describe the entities as under common control, that the offshore group paid the UK firm 4.27 million pounds in commissions over two years, about 60 percent of the UK company's turnover, and that the Cayman entity was the advertiser behind 65 UK Google ads promoting both the regulated and unregulated platforms. The UK office has 11 employees.
- Clients describe one repeated mechanism, not scattered gripes. Reports on ForexPeaceArmy and BrokersView from late 2025 through 2026 follow the same path: the account turns profitable, a withdrawal is requested, an account or compliance review begins, and the balance is frozen or reduced. Named examples include 11,128 dollars of profit removed by a ledger entry described as a cash adjustment, a Hong Kong account holding 23,630.82 Hong Kong dollars frozen after a withdrawal request, a missing deposit of about 35,000 rupees, and a withheld 6,300 dollar partner commission. Amounts, dates and case numbers are given, which is what separates a pattern from noise.
- A central bank list adds to the picture. The Bank of Russia lists Vantage Global Limited, Vantage Global Prime LLP, Vantage FX and Vantage Markets, together with fourteen domains including vantagemarkets.com and secure.vantagemarkets.com, as showing the marks of an unlicensed securities market participant. The entry dates from 21 September 2021 and was updated on 21 May 2026.
- What we did not find matters too. Australia's own regulator does not warn about this broker. Its investor alert list instead carries at least six entries from December 2025 onward headed 'Impersonation of Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd', each naming a different impostor site. Hong Kong's alert list, read in full, contains no entry for this operation or its domains, and the similarly named companies on it are different firms. No enforcement action for fraud and no fraud-related court record naming these entities came up in our checks.
- How the number was reached. The six scored dimensions give a weighted average of 54 percent. We publish 65 because three regulator actions name the broker's own website, which an average over dimensions understates. We deliberately stopped below the likely-scam band: the operator's identity, companies and licences check out on the registers, the brand is the victim of impersonation rather than the impersonator, and an independent dispute body has ordered this firm to pay clients back and seen it comply. A 14-year operating record, computed from the 2012 Australian company rather than the 2009 brand, counts in its favour.

E1The FCA warning list entry titled vantagemarkets.com, published 2 April 2026, states the firm may be providing or promoting financial services without FCA permission and is not associated with authorised firm Vantage Global Prime LLP, reference 590299.
Hard proofFinancial Conduct Authority warning listE2CONSOB resolution 22587 of 8 February 2023 ordered Vantage Global Limited to cease the investment services it provided to the Italian public through vantagefx.com, vantagemarkets.com and secure.vantagemarkets.com, recording an Italian-language site and reported cold calling of Italian retail investors.
Hard proofCONSOB, ItalyE3The AMF blacklisted www.vantagemarkets.com/fr/ on 12 June 2026 because it offers financial services or products without being authorised, adding that the site is not related to Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd.
Hard proofAutorite des Marches Financiers, FranceE4The FCA register shows Vantage Global Prime LLP, reference 590299, authorised since 1 July 2013, able to hold and control client money, at Centurion House, 37 Jewry Street, London, with its website recorded as www.vantagemarkets.co.uk, so the UK licence belongs to this operation and not to a third party.
Hard proofFCA Financial Services RegisterE5The Mauritius FSC public register lists VIG Group as holding a full service investment dealer licence excluding underwriting, dated 8 September 2021, at Suite 201, The Catalyst, 40 Silicon Avenue, Ebene, which is the address the global website publishes, with no adverse annotation.
E6The Vanuatu financial dealers licensee list shows Vantage Global Limited, company number 700271, holding licence classes A, B and C with status Active, licence date 22 August 2023.
E7Australia's investor alert list carries at least six entries from December 2025 to May 2026 headed as impersonations of Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd, naming impostor sites including traderapp.io, tipfinder.co, technology1.co and marketinskghtsai.com, and the list contains no entry against the broker's own domains.
E8An investigation published on 26 August 2026 reported that corporate filings describe the UK and offshore Vantage entities as under common control, that the offshore group paid the UK firm 4.27 million pounds in commissions over two years, about 60 percent of its turnover, that the UK office has 11 employees, and that the Cayman entity was the advertiser behind 65 UK adverts promoting both the regulated and unregulated platforms.
E9The Bank of Russia warning list names Vantage Global Limited, Vantage Global Prime LLP, Vantage Global Pty Ltd, Vantage FX and Vantage Markets, with fourteen domains including www.vantagemarkets.com, secure.vantagemarkets.com and vantagemarketapac.com, as showing the marks of an illegal securities market participant. Added 21 September 2021 and updated 21 May 2026.
E10A complaint published in 2026 describes a Hong Kong client whose account reached 23,630.82 Hong Kong dollars after deposits of 4,500 on 2 January 2026, then was frozen under an account review on requesting a withdrawal, with escalating verification demands, the client noting that checks began only once the account was profitable.
E11Complaint threads describe the same mechanism repeatedly: 11,128 dollars of profit removed through a ledger entry labelled as a cash adjustment, a withdrawal reported as paid but never received, a blocked withdrawal with no explanation, and a withheld partner commission of 6,300 dollars, with amounts, dates and account numbers given.
E12The Financial Commission lists Vantage Global Limited as an active member since 3 October 2022 with cover of 20,000 euros per client and www.vantagemarkets.com as the member website, and its dispute committee has ruled against the firm and directed refunds, including the cash adjustment case and a missing deposit of about 35,000 rupees, both recorded as resolved.
E13The public review record for vantagemarkets.com shows 15,677 reviews averaging 4.4 out of 5, with 75 percent five star and 15 percent one star, the firm replying to 99 percent of negative reviews usually within a day, and one star complaints dominated by withdrawal processing delays rather than lost funds.
ModerateTrustpilotE14The Australian Business Register records VANTAGE GLOBAL PRIME PTY LTD, ABN 32 157 768 566, ACN 157 768 566, active since 12 April 2012 in New South Wales, holding the business names Vantage FX from 6 September 2018 and Vantage Markets from 6 November 2021.
E15The FCA register records this firm's previous names, showing it was registered as Atom8 Financial Services LLP from 1 July 2013 until 9 November 2017, then Vantage Global Prime LLP, trading as Vantage FX from October 2020 and Vantage Markets from January 2022, which documents an unbroken brand lineage under one licence.
E16The global site's own footer names VIG Group in Mauritius as the operator under the Vantage Markets brand, licence GB20026165, and separately names the Australian, South African and Cypriot companies, the Cyprus entity being limited to payment services, with the Authority stating it does not endorse the products offered.
ModerateVantage Markets regulations pageE17The domain vantagefx.com was registered on 20 November 2009 and vantagemarkets.com on 18 December 2017, both with the same registrar, supporting the 2009 brand origin while the regional domain vantagemarketapac.com dates only from 30 June 2025.
ModerateVerisign RDAP domain recordsE18The Hong Kong alert list, read in full at 3,196 entries, contains no entry for Vantage International Group or for any of this broker's domains, and the similarly named companies on it are unrelated firms, so claims of a Hong Kong warning against this broker do not hold up.
E19The global site offers leverage up to 1:2000 through its Asia Pacific and offshore entities against 1:30 for FCA and ASIC retail clients, and sets a 50 dollar minimum deposit, showing how materially the terms differ by entity.
E20The site asks visitors from Germany to confirm they arrived on their own initiative under reverse solicitation principles and publishes a restricted list covering India, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States, showing some jurisdictional controls are in place even though a Hong Kong resident held an account.
The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
The strongest honest case for Vantage, which a reader deserves before acting on the risk score.
- The licences are genuine and we read them at source. The FCA register shows Vantage Global Prime LLP authorised since 1 July 2013, permitted to hold and control client money, with vantagemarkets.co.uk as its recorded website, so the UK entity passes the identity test outright. Mauritius publishes VIG Group as an investment dealer with a full service licence dated 8 September 2021, at the same address the website gives. Vanuatu lists Vantage Global Limited, number 700271, classes A, B and C, as active.
- UK clients of the UK entity have statutory protection. The FCA record states that the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme may be able to consider complaints and claims against that firm.
- Complaints get adjudicated, and the firm pays. Vantage Global Limited has been an active member of the Financial Commission since 3 October 2022, with cover of 20,000 euros per client, and that body's dispute committee has ruled against Vantage and directed refunds, including the cash adjustment case and the missing deposit case. Both are recorded as resolved. VIG Group also publishes excess of loss insurance arranged through Willis Towers Watson, up to one million dollars per claim.
- Most clients are not complaining. The main review platform shows 15,677 reviews at 4.4 out of 5, with 75 percent at five stars, and the firm replies to 99 percent of negative reviews, usually within a day. That is not the profile of an operation that keeps client money.
- The regulator actions are about territory, not theft. Each one says the same thing in different words: this site is not authorised here. None of them finds that client funds were stolen. Offering an offshore entity to clients outside its licensed markets is a common and lawful-looking industry structure, and the group does publish regional restrictions and gates German visitors with a reverse solicitation notice.
- The business is substantial and traceable. Real offices in London and Sydney, a company on the Australian register since 2012, MetaTrader servers in its own name, and a brand lineage documented on the FCA register back to Atom8 Financial Services LLP in 2013.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
Specific, checkable things that would move this verdict in either direction.
- Towards lower risk: the FCA removing the vantagemarkets.com warning entry, or the group obtaining an EU or UK authorisation that covers the clients the global site accepts.
- Towards lower risk: the French and Italian measures being lifted, which would show the solicitation problem has been settled rather than relocated to another domain.
- Towards lower risk: the frozen-account reports stopping, or the firm publishing how long a compliance review may hold a balance and what triggers one.
- Towards lower risk: the Mauritius or Vanuatu entity extending statutory compensation cover, or confirmation that client money there sits in segregated accounts on terms equivalent to the UK entity's.
- Towards higher risk: a regulator or court finding of fraud, a licence suspension on any register, or the Financial Commission reporting that an award against Vantage went unpaid.
- Towards higher risk: a credible, specific report that a client was asked for a further payment, a tax or a fee, before a withdrawal would be released. We found no such report, and one would change the assessment sharply.
- Towards higher risk: the same content reappearing on yet another domain after a blocking order, which would turn a compliance gap into a pattern of evasion.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is Vantage a scam?
No, not in the sense of a fake broker. It is a licensed group with verified entries on the FCA, Mauritius FSC and Vanuatu registers, real offices and a 14-year record. We still rate it high risk at 65 percent, because three regulators have acted against its global website for operating without local permission and clients report profitable accounts being frozen at the point of withdrawal.
Is Vantage a fraud?
We found no regulator finding of fraud, no enforcement action for fraud and no fraud-related court record naming the Vantage companies. The measures we did find concern operating without local authorisation, which is a different thing. We assess the risk to client funds as elevated rather than proven, and that is why the report exists.
Is Vantage regulated?
Yes, in several places, but not everywhere it accepts clients. We confirmed the FCA entry for Vantage Global Prime LLP, reference 590299, the Mauritius investment dealer licence held by VIG Group, and the active Vanuatu licence held by Vantage Global Limited. It also publishes ASIC licence 428901 for Australia and FSCA licence 51268 for South Africa.
Why has the FCA warned about Vantage?
On 2 April 2026 the FCA added vantagemarkets.com to its warning list, saying the firm may be providing or promoting financial services without its permission, and that the site is not associated with the authorised firm Vantage Global Prime LLP. The authorised UK firm trades at vantagemarkets.co.uk, a different website.
Can I withdraw my money from Vantage?
Most clients do. The main review platform shows 15,677 reviews at 4.4 out of 5 and the firm answers 99 percent of negative reviews. But a recurring set of reports describes withdrawals stalling once an account becomes profitable, with a compliance review opening and the balance frozen or adjusted downward, so document everything.
Is my money safe with Vantage?
That depends on the entity. Clients of the FCA-authorised UK company may be covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service and the compensation scheme. Clients of the Mauritius or Vanuatu companies, which is most of the world, have no statutory compensation scheme, only the firm's own insurance and its dispute-body membership.
Who owns Vantage and where is it based?
The brand began in Australia in 2009 and the Australian company, Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd, has been on the business register since April 2012. The group runs companies in Australia, the United Kingdom, Mauritius, Vanuatu, the Cayman Islands, South Africa and Cyprus. Reporting published in August 2026 said corporate filings describe these entities as under common control.
How old is Vantage?
About 14 years as an operating business. The brand and its first domain, vantagefx.com, date from November 2009, and the Australian company was registered in April 2012. We take the later of the two, because an operation needs both a live presence and a real company.
Is Vantage a clone broker?
No, it is the brand being cloned. Australia's investor alert list carries at least six entries since December 2025 headed as impersonations of Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd, each naming a different impostor site, and the FCA records clone firms using this firm's details. Always check the domain before depositing.
What is the Mauritius licence worth?
It is a genuine licence and we confirmed it on the regulator's own register, where VIG Group appears as a full service investment dealer from 8 September 2021. It is a low-tier offshore authorisation, so it does not bring the capital rules, segregation standards or compensation scheme you would get from the UK or Australian entity.
Why do France and Italy block the Vantage website?
France's AMF blacklisted the site's French page on 12 June 2026 for offering financial services without authorisation. Italy's CONSOB ordered the services provided through the site to cease in February 2023, noting an Italian-language version and reports of cold calling, and has since named further Vantage domains carrying the same content.
What should I check before depositing with Vantage?
Four things: the exact domain, the company named in the client agreement you accept, whether your country appears in the restricted list, and what compensation applies to that company. If the agreement names a Mauritius or Vanuatu company, treat the money as uninsured by any state scheme.
What can I do if Vantage is holding my funds?
Put the request in writing and keep the ticket numbers, then escalate to the Financial Commission, which covers Vantage Global Limited up to 20,000 euros per client and has previously ruled against the firm and directed refunds. Clients of the UK entity can also complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
Our advice depends entirely on which Vantage company would hold your money.
- Check the entity before you deposit, not the brand. Read the client agreement you are asked to accept. If it names VIG Group or Vantage Global Limited, your counterparty is in Mauritius or Vanuatu and no statutory compensation scheme covers you.
- If you are in the UK, deal only with vantagemarkets.co.uk, the site recorded against FCA reference 590299. The FCA has published a warning about the global site.
- If you are in France or Italy, do not sign up. Those regulators have blacklisted or ordered the blocking of this website, and you would have no local recourse.
- Verify the domain character by character. Australia's regulator has listed at least six sites impersonating Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd since December 2025, and the FCA records clone firms using this firm's details. The impostors are a separate and serious danger.
- Keep your own records. Screenshot balances, trade history and withdrawal requests. The disputes that were resolved were the ones where the client could document the sequence.
- If funds are held, escalate in writing. The Financial Commission accepts complaints against Vantage Global Limited with cover to 20,000 euros per client and has ruled against the firm before. UK clients of the UK entity can also go to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
- For our own records: this broker's status should move from regulated to offshore, and the file warrants human review before any further change, because strong evidence points both ways.
This is an independent assessment of risk, not a legal ruling. Scores and verdicts follow the Wikilix broker-safety methodology and can change as new evidence appears. Review scores are treated with caution when a broker’s reviews look manipulated. Last reviewed October 16, 2026.
