Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
XBTFX looks like a real broker that has been trading for years, but it lacks the protections a client would expect. We rate it high risk rather than a scam because we found no fraud finding, no repeated pattern of refused withdrawals and no borrowed identity.
- The account company is unlicensed. The legal page says accounts are opened with XBTFX LLC of Antigua and Barbuda, and that this company is not required to hold any financial services licence there. No regulator supervises how it holds client money.
- The licence sits with a sister company. The Seychelles FSA lists XBTFX (SC) Limited as a securities dealer, and XBTFX's own pages gave its licence number as SD169. The legal page still named that company in July 2026 but no longer did by September 2026. The website the FSA lists for it, xbtfx.io, now forwards to xbtfx.com.
- A regulator warning names the brand. Ukraine's National Securities and Stock Market Commission lists XBTFX at xbtfx.io as offering services without a Ukrainian licence. IOSCO published the warning on 22 March 2024, and CONSOB repeated it in April 2024. It is a licensing warning from one regulator outside the top tier, not a fraud finding, and the FCA register shows no warning.
- Corporate standing is unclear. Antigua's FSRC gave notice in May 2026 that it would strike XBTFX LLC off its register unless overdue requirements were filed by 5 August 2026. No public record shows the outcome, and the site still names XBTFX LLC as the operator.
- Complaints are few. The one detailed fund complaint (USD 4,631.34, January 2025) was an anti-money-laundering hold after the client switched from Perfect Money to USDT. XBTFX answered it publicly. Trustpilot shows 78 reviews averaging 4.5.
- Why 65% and not 54%. On the evidence alone the score is 54%. The brand dates to 2019, and archived pages show it trading in May 2020. However, neither the operating company XBTFX LLC nor the licence holder can be dated on a public registry. The only company in the group with a registry date is the Cyprus payment processor, registered in July 2024. With under three years of verifiable corporate history, too little can be established to treat the operation as safe, so the published figure is raised to 65%. This reflects missing records, not misconduct we found.

Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1The Seychelles Financial Services Authority lists XBTFX (SC) Limited as a Securities Dealer, trade name XBTFX, website xbtfx.io, at Office 1, Block 2, 1st Floor, Sai-fu Building, Zone 20, Providence, Mahe. xbtfx.io forwards to xbtfx.com and uses the same name servers, so this is the group's own licence, not a borrowed one.
E2Ukraine's National Securities and Stock Market Commission lists XBTFX with website xbtfx.io on its investor warning list. IOSCO published it on 22 March 2024 as an unregistered or unlicensed entity likely offering financial services to Ukrainian consumers without an NSSMC licence. It is a warning about operating without a local licence, not a finding of fraud.
E3CONSOB's investor notice of 4 April 2024 lists Xbtfx (https://xbtfx.io) among firms reported by the Ukrainian NSSMC. It passes on the same warning as E2 rather than making a separate CONSOB finding, and no CONSOB blocking order for the domain was found.
E4XBTFX's legal page says accounts are opened with XBTFX LLC, incorporated in Antigua and Barbuda (ILLC001), and that XBTFX LLC is not required to hold any financial services licence there. The company that takes client money is unlicensed.
ModerateXBTFX legal documents pageE5XBTFX's regulation page, as archived on 15 May 2026, named XBTFX (SC) Ltd (Seychelles, 8434947-1) with FSA licence SD169. The legal page still did so on 14 July 2026. By 19 September 2026 the Seychelles company and SD169 were gone, and the regulation page now forwards to the About page. The licence itself is still on the FSA list.
E6xbtfx.io, the website the Seychelles FSA lists for the licensed company, and sc.xbtfx.io both forward visitors to xbtfx.com, where accounts are opened with the unlicensed Antigua company. Someone who checks the licence and follows the FSA's listed website lands on a site that does not use it.
Moderatexbtfx.io redirectE7Antigua and Barbuda Official Gazette No. 31 of 14 May 2026 carries an FSRC notice of intention to strike XBTFX LLC (number LLC 001, corporate service provider AIT Management Services (2001) Limited) from the register. The deadline to file outstanding requirements under the IBC fees and minimum capitalisation regulations was 5 August 2026. The notice confirms the company is on the FSRC register; no public record shows the outcome.
E8The Cyprus Registrar of Companies lists CLEARAY LTD, HE 462275, as a private company registered on 3 July 2024 and still registered. XBTFX names it as its payment processor.
ModerateCyprus Registrar of CompaniesE9xbtfx.io was registered on 22 May 2019, and archived copies show the XBTFX trading site live there from 29 May 2020. xbtfx.com dates from 12 April 2013 but only became the main site in late 2025. Both domains use the same name servers. This supports the since-2019 claim.
E10The archived xbtfx.io home page of 29 May 2020 names the operator as XBTFX LLC, registration no. 155 LLC, Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, registered by that country's FSA. That is a company registration, not a licence. The operating company has since moved to Antigua.
E11Trustpilot shows 78 reviews of xbtfx.com averaging 4.5: 69% five-star, 25% four-star, 1% three-star and 5% one-star, with 7 reviews in the last 12 months. Several reviews describe completed withdrawals, and the company replies to negative reviews.
WeakTrustpilotE12A January 2025 Trustpilot review reports a USD 4,631.34 balance deposited via Perfect Money and a request to withdraw to USDT with a 15% charge. A source-of-funds request followed, and then the withdrawal was blocked (ticket 1996732). XBTFX replied that it was an anti-money-laundering review needing documents. The same complaint was filed on Forex Peace Army, where the case is marked abandoned. One complainant on two sites counts as one report.
E13The other low-star reviews concern a PAMM transfer the broker says was completed (February 2025), a withdrawal that took several hours (August 2025) and slow support replies (2022). None shows funds lost.
E14A search of the FCA Financial Services Register for XBTFX returns no firm and no warning. Absence from a warning list is not proof of safety.
WeakFCA registerE15XBTFX's About page says the firm obtained a Securities Dealer License in 2024. It does not name the regulator or say that a different company holds the licence from the one that opens accounts.
ModerateXBTFX About pageE16The contact page lists a London phone number, +44 20 3807 9081. The UK is not among the excluded countries, and no XBTFX company appears on the FCA register.
E17FinanceFeeds named XBTFX Crypto Broker of the Year in its 2023 awards (article of 26 September 2023), so the award shown on the site is genuine.

The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
The strongest case for XBTFX is that it behaves like an established offshore broker rather than a scam.
- The brand has a continuous history: xbtfx.io was registered in May 2019, the trading site was live by May 2020, and Trustpilot reviews go back to 2021.
- The group holds a real licence. The Seychelles FSA still lists XBTFX (SC) Limited as a securities dealer, and the website the FSA records belongs to the same operation.
- It is open about its weak spot. The legal page says plainly that XBTFX LLC holds no licence rather than claiming one it lacks.
- The Ukrainian warning is a licensing notice on a list of several hundred projects that includes well-known offshore brokers. No top-tier regulator has warned about XBTFX.
- The Antigua notice concerned overdue fees or filings and named 30 companies at once.
- Withdrawal complaints are rare and the broker replies to them publicly. The main one involved an anti-money-laundering check after a change of payment route.
- Its Crypto Broker of the Year 2023 award from FinanceFeeds is genuine.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
The rating would move if any of these changed.
- Lower risk: XBTFX opening client accounts through a licensed company again, for example XBTFX (SC) Limited, and saying so in its legal documents.
- Lower risk: a public record that XBTFX LLC met the FSRC's requirements and remained in good standing after 5 August 2026.
- Lower risk: registry records that date XBTFX LLC or XBTFX (SC) Limited and so establish the corporate track record.
- Lower risk: the NSSMC removing XBTFX from its warning list.
- Higher risk: XBTFX LLC being struck off while still taking deposits, or the FSA withdrawing the SD169 licence.
- Higher risk: several independent, specific reports of refused withdrawals or demands for extra payments, or a top-tier regulator warning that names xbtfx.com.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is XBTFX a scam?
We have not found proof that XBTFX is a scam, but we rate it high risk at 65%. It is a real trading business that has run since about 2019. However, client accounts are opened by XBTFX LLC in Antigua and Barbuda, which holds no financial licence, and Ukraine's securities regulator lists it as unlicensed.
Is XBTFX a fraud?
We found no evidence of fraud by XBTFX: no regulator enforcement action and no fraud-related court record names XBTFX LLC or its sister companies. The only regulator warning is Ukraine's NSSMC listing, which concerns operating without a Ukrainian licence. That is a licensing warning, not a fraud finding.
Is XBTFX regulated?
Not for accounts opened on xbtfx.com. XBTFX states that XBTFX LLC, the company that opens accounts, is not required to hold a licence in Antigua and Barbuda. A sister company, XBTFX (SC) Limited, is listed by the Seychelles FSA as a securities dealer (licence SD169), but the site stopped naming it in 2026.
What is XBTFX's Seychelles licence worth?
The Seychelles FSA securities dealer licence is real but offshore and low-tier, with no investor compensation scheme. It covers XBTFX (SC) Limited, not XBTFX LLC. If your account is with XBTFX LLC, the licence does not protect you.
Which company holds my money at XBTFX?
According to XBTFX's legal page, your account is opened with XBTFX LLC. That company is incorporated in Antigua and Barbuda with number ILLC001 and registered at its corporate agent's address in Hodges Bay, St. John's. Payments are processed by CLEARAY LTD, a Cyprus company registered in July 2024.
Can I withdraw my money from XBTFX?
Most reviews we read describe withdrawals that worked, often within a day. The one detailed complaint involved a USD 4,631 balance held for an anti-money-laundering review after the client switched from Perfect Money to USDT. Withdraw by the same method you deposited with, and expect identity and source-of-funds checks.
Is my money safe with XBTFX?
Your money sits with an unlicensed offshore company, so no regulator checks how client funds are held and no compensation scheme applies. XBTFX says most client assets are kept in cold storage and in a segregated account at its liquidity provider, but nobody independent confirms this. Only deposit what you can afford to lose.
Why does a regulator warn about XBTFX?
Ukraine's National Securities and Stock Market Commission lists XBTFX (xbtfx.io) as offering financial services to Ukrainian consumers without a Ukrainian licence. IOSCO published the warning on 22 March 2024, and Italy's CONSOB repeated it in April 2024. No top-tier regulator such as the FCA has issued a warning.
How old is XBTFX?
The brand says it started in 2019. Its first domain, xbtfx.io, was registered on 22 May 2019, and archived pages show the broker trading in May 2020, when it was run by XBTFX LLC of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The only company in the group dated by a public registry is CLEARAY LTD, registered in July 2024.
Is XBTFX a clone of another broker?
No. XBTFX is its own brand, and the domains we checked (xbtfx.com, xbtfx.io and sc.xbtfx.io) belong to the same operation. Licence SD169 belongs to its own sister company, not to an unrelated firm.
What is the Antigua strike-off notice about?
In Official Gazette No. 31 of 14 May 2026, Antigua's Financial Services Regulatory Commission said it would strike XBTFX LLC off the register unless outstanding requirements under its fee regulations were filed by 5 August 2026. Notices like this usually concern unpaid fees or filings. No outcome has been published, and the site still names XBTFX LLC as the operator.
What should I check before depositing with XBTFX?
Confirm in your account agreement which company you are contracting with, and whether it holds any licence. Make a small test deposit and withdrawal by the same method. Read the Terms of Service on bonuses and withdrawal conditions, and keep copies of all tickets and transactions.
What should I do if XBTFX blocks my withdrawal?
Send a written request through the support ticket system, keep the ticket number and provide any reasonable identity or source-of-funds documents. If the funds are still held, complain to your card issuer or payment provider. Ignore fund-recovery services that ask for upfront fees; they are a common follow-up scam.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
If you are considering XBTFX, treat it as an unlicensed offshore broker and protect yourself accordingly.
- Check which company your account agreement names. On xbtfx.com it is XBTFX LLC of Antigua and Barbuda, which holds no licence.
- If a licence matters to you, ask XBTFX in writing whether an account with the FSA-licensed XBTFX (SC) Limited is available, and check that company's entry on the Seychelles FSA register.
- Start small. Deposit a modest amount and test a withdrawal by the same method before adding more.
- Do not use the account to move money between payment systems, such as e-wallet in and crypto out. That pattern triggers anti-money-laundering holds.
- Keep copies of tickets, transaction IDs and emails.
- If you live in Ukraine, note that the NSSMC lists XBTFX as unlicensed there.
- Ignore anyone who offers to recover lost funds for an upfront fee.
This is an independent assessment of risk, not a legal ruling. Scores and verdicts follow the Wikilix broker-safety methodology and can change as new evidence appears.
