The Australian unit of CMC Markets has launched a dedicated artificial intelligence engine, CMC Intelligence, developed in partnership with Telescope AI. Announced on Tuesday June 23 2026, the new tool is designed to help investors navigate market movements and review their portfolios.
CMC Intelligence provides AI-generated insights across stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and cryptocurrencies. The coverage spans several markets, including Australia, the United States, Singapore, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The broker stated that the product aims to give clients a clearer view of fast-changing market conditions.
Investor adoption and product rationale
The launch follows internal findings by the London-listed broker that 23 per cent of its stock brokerage clients already use AI for investing, up from 12 per cent six months earlier. This rapid growth in AI usage among clients appears to have informed the decision to roll out a dedicated AI engine.
Ryan O'Doherty, Head of Product for CMC Invest APAC, noted that the new AI product addresses a common challenge for investors: maintaining clarity and confidence in fast-moving or volatile markets. According to O'Doherty, investors often face fragmented and conflicting information across multiple sources, and the AI engine is intended to help them manage this information more effectively.
Data sources and functionality
CMC stated that the insights produced by its AI agents are generated using verified market data, corporate filings, regulatory disclosures, and public news sources. By drawing on these inputs, the platform is intended to support investors in assessing market movements and reviewing portfolio positions across asset classes and geographies.
CMC Intelligence forms part of the broker’s broader effort to integrate AI into its investing platform for retail clients. The tool is positioned as a resource for investors seeking structured, data-driven insights rather than relying solely on disparate information channels.
Availability and rollout
CMC Intelligence was developed in partnership with Telescope AI and is currently available to CMC customers in Australia. While the Australian launch is underway, the timing and scope of any global rollout remain unclear based on the company’s announcement.
With AI adoption rising among its clients, CMC Markets’ Australian unit is using CMC Intelligence to respond to evolving investor behaviour and the growing demand for AI-supported market analysis, within the bounds of verified financial and public information sources.
