Broker Summary

What Wikilix has recorded about ADFX: its history, the licences it holds, its trading conditions and its fees.

Overview

ADFX is the trading name of ADFX Global Pty Limited, an Australian private company registered under ACN 096 386 686 and ABN 13 096 386 686, with its office at 'Angel Place', Level 17, 123 Pitt Street, Sydney NSW 2000. The company has been on the Australian Business Register since 30 March 2001, originally under the name Advance Trading Australia Pty Ltd. What matters most about ADFX is what it is not: the business described on its own website is an advisory practice for wholesale clients, not a retail forex or CFD brokerage.

Regulation and licence

ADFX Global Pty Limited holds Australian Financial Services Licence No. 257679, issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and in force since 17 February 2004. The company publishes the licence, its scope and its company numbers openly on its own regulatory information page. The authorisation covers financial product advice on, and dealing in, derivatives and foreign exchange contracts, and it is granted to wholesale clients. The firm itself states that holding an AFSL does not mean ASIC endorses or recommends it.

Two further permissions are attached to the ADFX brand outside Australia and are worth stating plainly, because neither appears on the company's own website. A Seychelles securities dealer licence numbered SD1661 is recorded against a different company, TradingDynamix Ltd, and a Vanuatu licence numbered 701016, effective 6 February 2026, is recorded against ADFX Global limited. Both are low-tier offshore permissions that carry no client money protection scheme, and the mismatch between the Seychelles licensee and the Australian licensee is a material discrepancy rather than a formality.

Safety of client funds

Wholesale clients do not receive the protections the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) gives retail clients. The company says so itself: no Financial Services Guide, no Product Disclosure Statement, no Statement of Advice, no statutory best interests duty for personal advice, and no access to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority. Anyone who does not meet a wholesale client test cannot be served at all, and the firm requires evidence of that status, which may include an accountant's certificate confirming net assets of at least $2.5 million or gross income of at least $250,000 in each of the last two financial years.

Services and fees

Rather than trading accounts, ADFX sells three monthly advisory subscriptions, priced in Australian dollars including GST: Market Intelligence at AUD 699 per month, covering weekly market commentary and a monthly research report; Professional Advisory at AUD 1,199 per month, adding an assigned adviser and weekly phone consultations; and Strategic Advisory at AUD 3,999 per month, with a dedicated adviser, bespoke research and up to two consultations a week.

Accounts, leverage and platforms

The website publishes no live or demo trading accounts, no minimum deposit, no leverage figure, no spread schedule and no trading platform. There is no MetaTrader or comparable terminal offered to clients, and no deposit or withdrawal channel is described anywhere on the site. Where this profile leaves those sections empty, that is the accurate answer rather than a gap in our research.

Availability

The firm states that its website and its services are intended for residents of Australia only, that its licence authorises financial services in Australia, and that the site is not directed at anyone in a jurisdiction where such use would be contrary to local law. Onboarding runs through an enquiry form, not an account signup, and the site is published in English only.

Support

Contact runs through a single published email address, compliance@ad-fx.com, and the Sydney office address. There is no live chat, no published telephone number and no official social media account linked from the site.

Pros and cons

  • For: a genuine, long-established Australian company with a verifiable registration and an in-force AFSL that the firm publishes accurately and without overstating.
  • For: unusually candid disclosure - the loss of retail protections, the absence of AFCA access and the limits of an AFSL are all spelled out on the site rather than buried.
  • Against: no retail service of any kind, so the overwhelming majority of traders cannot use it and should not treat the ASIC licence as covering them.
  • Against: offshore permissions carried under the same brand name one of which is licensed to a wholly different company, with nothing on the official site explaining the relationship.
  • Against: fees are substantial and the advisory subscriptions are sold before any trading service exists.

Assessment

Judged as what it says it is, ADFX Global Pty Limited is a legitimately licensed Australian advisory firm with an honest regulatory disclosure page. Judged as a broker, it is not one: retail traders cannot open an account, are not covered by AFSL 257679, and would have no complaints route if something went wrong. Anyone who encounters a retail trading offer using the ADFX name should be aware that it does not come from the Australian licensee described here, and should establish exactly which company would hold their money before sending any.

    What our check found

AFSL 257679 is in force and is published by the licensee on its own regulatory information page, together with its ACN and ABN. Its scope is limited: advice on and dealing in derivatives and foreign exchange contracts for wholesale clients only, so it carries none of the retail client protections.

How we know — 4 sources
  1. 1Regulatory Information page, 'Where we can act': the website and services are intended for residents of Australia only, and the licence authorises financial services in Australia. Australia is therefore the one explicitly accepted jurisdiction.
  2. 2The same clause states the site is not directed at any person in any jurisdiction outside Australia. That is a category-level exclusion rather than a named country list, so no individual country codes are recorded as confirmed blocks.
  3. 3Regulatory Information page, 'Who we can act for': services are limited to wholesale clients under sections 761G and 761GA of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth); retail clients are refused outright regardless of country.
  4. 4Homepage, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Risk Disclosure Statement were read; none publishes a restricted-country list. There is no signup form with a country selector - onboarding runs through an enquiry form that collects no country.
