Is Altum a scam?

High risk (unverified)MEDIUM confidence
Updated August 13, 2026
Offshore-regulated broker, no fraud pattern found

No, we found no evidence that Altum is a scam: ALTUM Ltd holds a genuine Seychelles Securities Dealer licence, and the regulator's own register lists altumbrokers.com as its website. We still rate it 44 percent risk, because the protection behind that licence is weak and parts of its public record do not hold up.

  • The licence is real. We opened the Seychelles FSA register and found ALTUM Ltd with the matching website, email and phone number, so this is not a clone.
  • It is offshore only. Seychelles is a tier-3 regulator with no investor compensation scheme, and leverage is advertised up to 1:2000.
  • No client has publicly reported losing money. We found no credible report of a refused or frozen withdrawal on any platform we checked.
  • The positive reviews look partly manufactured. Five single-review accounts posted generic praise in early 2025 from a country the broker's own terms excluded at the time.
  • The scale claims do not match reality. The site speaks of millions of traders while the company shows 12 reviews and 2 to 10 staff.

Regulation

6/10 · High

Genuine Securities Dealer licence SD194 confirmed in force on the Seychelles FSA register with a matching website, but tier-3 offshore only, no compensation scheme and leverage advertised to 1:2000.

Identity & transparency

3/10 · Low

Entity, registration number, licence and even the outside payment company are disclosed and verified against independent records; marked down for a registered address that does not match the register entry and placeholder social links.

Withdrawals & conduct

3/10 · Low

No credible fund-integrity report on any platform checked; one isolated execution dispute about closing a position, which is service quality, and one negative review discounted as a recovery-service advert.

Reputation

5/10 · Moderate

No regulator warnings and net-positive feedback, but the footprint is thin at 12 reviews and part of the praise is a cluster of single-review accounts posted in one tight window.

Website claims

5/10 · Moderate

The licence is described accurately and not inflated into tier-1 status, but claims of platforms trusted by millions of traders sit against 2 to 10 staff and a 12-review record.

Operational history

4/10 · Moderate

Domain registered November 2022 with unbroken content under this one brand since 2023 and no sign of a recycled or previously different business; the figure is an upper limit because the company itself could not be dated.

Who they are

  • Brand: Altum, trading as Altum Brokers.
  • Legal entity: ALTUM Ltd, a Seychelles company, registration number 8434835-1.
  • Registered: House of Francis, Ile Du Port, Mahe, Seychelles. The regulator's register records Unit 1, Ground Floor; the website says Room 302.
  • Website: altumbrokers.com, with a client portal at my.altumbrokers.com.
  • Only licence: Seychelles FSA Securities Dealer licence SD194, held by ALTUM Ltd.
  • Payments handled by: Zenwave Services Limited, a Cyprus company registered on 30 June 2025 under number HE 477396, named on the site itself.
  • Offers: forex, commodities, indices, stock CFDs and cryptocurrencies on MetaTrader 4 and 5, plus copy trading and a no-deposit bonus.
  • Not accepted: residents of the United States, Iran and North Korea. An earlier version of the site also excluded the United Kingdom.
  • Age claim: none stated. Its domain dates from 25 November 2022 and its published content runs continuously from 2023.

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

We rate Altum high risk but not a scam, and the reason is a split between what we could verify and what we could not.

  • The licence passes the test that catches clones. We opened the Seychelles FSA Securities Dealer register and found ALTUM Ltd listed with the website altumbrokers.com, the email [email protected] and the phone number +248 4379914. A fake broker wearing someone else's licence fails exactly here. This one matches on every point, and the register also lists an accredited securities dealer representative attached to the company.
  • The company is real and still standing. The site gives Seychelles registration number 8434835-1. We searched the regulator's struck-off and dissolved company register and ALTUM Ltd does not appear there, which means it has not been struck off. The Cyprus company named as its payment processor is also real and active.
  • Nobody is publicly reporting stolen money. On the review page for this exact domain there are 12 reviews at 3.8 stars, and not one describes a refused, delayed or reversed withdrawal. The single one-star review reads as a fake: it is written in capitals, it credits a recovery agent with getting the money back, and the broker replied that no such client exists and that it does not serve that region. We discounted it. The one detailed complaint we did find, on a third-party broker directory, is about being unable to close a position during a news event, which is a trading and execution dispute rather than money not coming back.
  • No regulator has warned about it. We swept the published warning and alert lists of the FCA, CFTC, ASIC, CONSOB, BaFin, FINMA and CNMV and found nothing naming this brand or this domain. Two Altum-named warnings exist elsewhere, but they belong to a Spanish advisory firm and a pharmaceutical company, so we did not count them.
  • The protection is thin, and that is the core of the risk. Seychelles is a tier-3 offshore regulator. There is no compensation scheme if the firm fails, and the advertised leverage of up to 1:2000 is far beyond what any tier-1 regulator permits. Your money sits behind a licence that gives you very little to fall back on.
  • Part of the good reputation looks bought. Five of the positive reviews come from single-review accounts posted within three weeks of each other in February and March 2025, all from the United Kingdom, in generic language, and several claim a relationship of several years. At that time the site's own footer said its information was not intended for United Kingdom residents. A cluster like that is a marketing signal, not a sign of happy clients.
  • The scale claims are overstated. The site describes platforms trusted by millions of traders. The company's professional page shows 2 to 10 employees and one visible member of staff. We treated that as puffery rather than a fabricated credential, because the one claim that matters, the licence, is stated accurately.
  • The address does not line up. The regulator records Unit 1, Ground Floor, House of Francis. The current site and review profile say Room 302 in the same building, and a 2025 version of the site gave a different building altogether, at the Providence Complex. Offices move, but a regulated firm's published address should match its register entry.
  • We could not age the company. Seychelles does not publish incorporation dates for its companies, so the 3.7 years we can evidence rests on the domain record alone. Treat that figure as an upper limit, not a confirmed track record. The domain has run under this one brand throughout, with no sign it was previously a different business.

Note on operating history: the 3.7-year track record rests on domain registration alone. No company incorporation date could be established, so this is an upper bound rather than a confirmed age.

  • E1The Seychelles FSA register of licensed Securities Dealers lists ALTUM Ltd with the website https://www.altumbrokers.com, the email [email protected], the phone number +248 4379914 and the address House of Francis, Unit 1, Ground Floor, Ile Du Port, Mahe. Name, domain and contact details all match the operation investigated, so this is not a broker wearing another firm's licence.

  • E2The same regulator's register also lists Mr Lloyd Robinson Brooks as a Securities Dealer Representative accredited with ALTUM Ltd, which means a named individual is registered and accountable for the firm's dealing activity.

  • E3The company's own footer states that ALTUM Ltd is incorporated in Seychelles with company registration number 8434835-1 and is licensed by the Seychelles FSA under Securities Dealer licence number SD194. The claim matches the register exactly and is not inflated into a tier-1 authorisation.

ModerateAltum Brokers website footer, January 2026 version
  • E4A search of the Seychelles regulator's struck-off and dissolved company register returns no entry for company number 8434835 or for ALTUM Ltd, confirming the licensed entity has not been struck off or dissolved. Four other Altum-named Seychelles companies do appear as dissolved, but all carry different registration numbers.

  • E5The domain altumbrokers.com was registered on 25 November 2022 through GoDaddy, with the record last updated on 27 May 2026 and an expiry set for November 2027. This is the anchor for the operation's verifiable age.

    ModerateVerisign registration data for altumbrokers.com
  • E6Archived copies of the site run continuously from 8 May 2023 to 10 June 2026, always under the Altum Brokers brand, with blog archives dating back to December 2022. There is no earlier period where the domain hosted a different business and no long gap suggesting the domain was abandoned and picked up by someone else.

  • E7The independent review page for altumbrokers.com carries 12 reviews at 3.8 out of 5, with 50 percent five-star, 42 percent four-star and one single one-star review. No review describes a withdrawal being refused, delayed or reversed, and one reviewer reports a successful withdrawal from a bonus account in March 2026.

    ModerateTrustpilot review page for altumbrokers.com
  • E8The only negative review, posted on 11 August 2026 in capital letters, credits an outside recovery service with getting the writer's money released. The company replied that it holds no client record matching the writer and does not serve that region. A complaint that advertises a recovery agent is unusable as evidence, so we set it aside.

  • E9Five positive reviews were posted between 24 February and 13 March 2025, all from United Kingdom accounts with exactly one review each, in generic language, several claiming a relationship of several years. At that date the site's own footer said its information was not intended for United Kingdom residents. The pattern points to review promotion rather than organic client feedback.

    ModerateTrustpilot review page for altumbrokers.com
  • E10One authenticated complaint from a client in Malaysia, filed in August 2026 on a third-party broker directory, states that a position could not be closed during a major news event and the account was liquidated as a result, with a screen recording offered as proof. This is a trading execution dispute, not an allegation that money was withheld.

    WeakA third-party broker directory
  • E11Searches of the published warning and alert lists of the FCA, CFTC, ASIC, CONSOB, BaFin, FINMA and CNMV returned no entry naming Altum Brokers, ALTUM Ltd or altumbrokers.com. Two unrelated Altum-named entries exist, a Spanish financial advisory firm and a pharmaceutical company, neither connected to this broker.

ModerateSweep of regulator warning and alert lists
  • E12The site names Zenwave Services Limited as facilitating its payment operations, giving registration number HE 477396 and a Larnaca address. The Cyprus registry confirms ZENWAVE SERVICES LIMITED, number HE 477396, registered on 30 June 2025, status Active, at Archiepiskopou Makariou III 22, Makaria Center, Office 501, Larnaca. The disclosure is accurate and the entity is real.

ModerateCyprus companies registry record for Zenwave Services Limited
  • E13The registered address is inconsistent across sources. The regulator records Unit 1, Ground Floor, House of Francis. The current site and the review profile give Room 302, House of Francis. A 2025 version of the site gave Room B11, First Floor, Providence Complex, a different building.

ModerateComparison of the Seychelles FSA register entry with the 2025 and 2026 versions of the company's own footer
  • E14The company's professional profile lists 2 to 10 employees with one visible member of staff and gives its location as Mahe, Seychelles, consistent with the licensed entity. That headcount sits awkwardly against website copy describing platforms trusted by millions of traders.

WeakAltum Brokers company profile on LinkedIn
  • E15The current site restricts residents of the United States, Iran and North Korea, while the 2025 version stated its information was not intended for residents of the United Kingdom or the United States. A United Kingdom telephone number is nonetheless published as a contact.

WeakAltum Brokers restricted regions notice, 2025 and 2026 versions
  • E16Several automatically generated review pages assert that Altum is unregulated, that its regulatory claims are false, or that it is licensed in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. All three statements are contradicted by the Seychelles register entry we opened, and none of the pages offers a date, an amount or a named client. We gave them no weight in either direction.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

The fair case for Altum is stronger than its offshore label suggests, and it deserves stating plainly.

  • It holds a licence that we confirmed on the issuing regulator's own register, including the exact website under investigation. That is the single hardest thing for a fraudulent operation to produce, and most of the brokers we investigate fail it.
  • It discloses who it is. The legal entity, the company registration number, the licence number and even the outside company that processes its payments are all published and all check out against independent records.
  • Deposits run through mainstream rails, listed as bank transfer, Skrill and Neteller, rather than a raw crypto wallet address. That is the opposite of the classic theft pattern.
  • It runs its own named MetaTrader servers, which means there is a genuine trading operation behind the website rather than a simulated screen.
  • It answers its critics in public, including the negative review, and it correctly refused to accept a client it is not permitted to serve.
  • Several reviews read as organic, including a mildly critical four-star one about platform depth and a report of a successful withdrawal from a bonus account. A broker suppressing complaints does not usually leave criticism standing.
  • The claims we found against it online are largely worthless. Several automatically generated review pages assert that Altum is unregulated or makes fake regulatory claims. We checked the register ourselves, and those statements are simply false.
  • We looked for a hidden past and did not find one. Four dissolved Seychelles companies carry the Altum name, but all have different registration numbers and one was dissolved in 2019, before this domain existed. We found no shared address, licence or infrastructure linking any of them to this operation.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

This rating is not fixed. Specific, checkable things would move it in either direction.

  • Toward lower risk: authorisation by a tier-1 or tier-2 regulator such as the FCA, ASIC, CySEC or the FSCA, verifiable on that regulator's register under this same entity.
  • The published address being brought into line with the entry on the Seychelles register.
  • A documented incorporation date for ALTUM Ltd, which would turn the 3.7-year figure from an upper limit into a confirmed track record.
  • An organic review record growing over time, without clusters of single-review accounts appearing in tight windows.
  • The scale claims being corrected to something the company can support, or evidenced with real client and staff numbers.
  • Toward higher risk: any regulator warning or alert naming altumbrokers.com or ALTUM Ltd.
  • Two or more independent, detailed reports of withdrawals being refused, delayed indefinitely or reversed, especially with amounts and dates.
  • Any demand for an extra payment, described as tax, a fee or verification, before funds are released. One credible report of that would change our view immediately.
  • The licence being suspended, cancelled or allowed to lapse while the site still advertises it.
  • The Seychelles entity being struck off, or the trading business being moved to a company with no licence at all.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

13 questions
Is Altum a scam?

We found no evidence that it is. ALTUM Ltd holds a real Seychelles Securities Dealer licence, number SD194, and the regulator's register lists altumbrokers.com as its website. No regulator has issued a warning about it, and we found no credible report of a client being unable to get money out. It is a high-risk broker because of weak offshore protection, not because we found fraud.

Is Altum regulated?

Yes, but only offshore. It is licensed by the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles as a Securities Dealer under licence SD194. It is not authorised by the FCA in the United Kingdom, ASIC in Australia, CySEC in Cyprus, or any other tier-1 or tier-2 regulator.

Can I withdraw my money from Altum?

We found no public report of a refused or blocked withdrawal, and one reviewer described a successful withdrawal from a bonus account. That is reassuring but not a guarantee. Test with a small deposit and a full withdrawal before committing more, and keep records of dates and reference numbers.

Is my money safe with Altum?

It is less protected than at a tier-1 broker. Seychelles has no investor compensation scheme, so if the firm failed there is no fund to repay you. The company says client money is held in segregated accounts, but that is its own statement and we could not verify it independently.

Who owns and runs Altum?

The operating company is ALTUM Ltd, registered in Seychelles under number 8434835-1, with a registered office at House of Francis, Ile Du Port, Mahe. Its payment operations are handled by Zenwave Services Limited, a Cyprus company registered in June 2025. The individual owners are not published, which is normal for a Seychelles company but does limit transparency.

How old is Altum?

Its domain was registered on 25 November 2022 and its published content runs continuously from 2023, so roughly three and a half to four years of operating history. Treat that as an upper limit: Seychelles does not publish company incorporation dates, so we could not confirm how long the company itself has existed.

What is a Seychelles FSA licence actually worth?

Less than it sounds. It is a genuine licence from a real statutory regulator, and it does require the firm to register, report and keep an accredited representative. But supervision is light, capital requirements are modest, and there is no compensation scheme. It ranks tier-3, well below the FCA or ASIC.

Is Altum a clone of another broker?

No. We ran the standard check for that. The licence number, the company name and the website recorded on the regulator's register all match the operation we investigated, which is exactly what a clone cannot produce. Be aware that other unrelated firms use the Altum name, including Crypto Altum, AltumFX and a Spanish advisory company.

Why do some websites say Altum is unregulated or a fraud?

Because several of those pages are generated automatically and are simply wrong. We opened the Seychelles register ourselves and the licence is there. One page even attributes the licence to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which is incorrect. Claims like these carry no dates, amounts or named clients, so we gave them no weight.

Are the positive reviews about Altum genuine?

Some are, some look manufactured. Five reviews posted within three weeks in early 2025 came from single-review accounts in the United Kingdom, in generic language, at a time when the site itself said its information was not intended for UK residents. Other reviews, including a critical one about platform features, read as real.

Does Altum accept clients from the United States or United Kingdom?

It states that it does not serve residents of the United States, Iran or North Korea. An earlier version of the site also excluded the United Kingdom, and the company publicly refused a reviewer on the grounds that it does not serve that region. It does, however, publish a United Kingdom phone number.

What should I check before depositing with Altum?

Confirm licence SD194 is still active on the Seychelles FSA register and that the site's address matches it. Read the bonus terms, since bonuses often attach trading-volume conditions to withdrawals. Ignore the 1:2000 leverage. Then deposit a small sum and withdraw it successfully before you risk anything meaningful.

What do I do if I think I have been scammed by a broker?

Gather your evidence: deposit records, chat logs, ticket numbers and screenshots. Complain to the broker in writing, then to its regulator, in this case the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles. Ask your bank or card provider about a chargeback. Never pay anyone who promises to recover your funds for an upfront fee, as that is a second scam targeting victims of the first.

What we recommend

The practical takeaway from everything above.

Our advice

Treat Altum as a genuine but lightly protected offshore broker. If you are considering it, the risk is not that it disappears with your money tomorrow, it is that you have little recourse if something goes wrong.

  • Check the licence yourself before you deposit. Open the Seychelles FSA Securities Dealer register and confirm ALTUM Ltd is still listed with this website.
  • Assume there is no safety net. There is no compensation scheme in Seychelles, so decide your maximum exposure on the basis that it is fully at risk.
  • Ignore the leverage on offer. Trading at 1:2000 will end most accounts quickly regardless of the broker's honesty.
  • Test the exit early. Deposit a small amount, trade it, and withdraw it before you commit anything larger. Keep the dates and reference numbers.
  • Read the bonus terms before accepting the no-deposit or tradeable bonus offers, since these usually attach volume conditions to withdrawals.
  • Do not judge it by its reviews in either direction. The praise includes an artificial-looking cluster, and the harshest accusations online come from pages that get its regulatory status factually wrong.
  • If you are ever asked to pay a fee, tax or charge in order to release your own funds, stop, pay nothing, and report it. That request has no legitimate version.
  • Never deal with anyone who contacts you offering to recover money from a broker. The one negative review on this broker's page promotes exactly that kind of service.

This is an independent assessment of risk, not a legal ruling. Scores and verdicts follow the Wikilix broker-safety methodology and can change as new evidence appears.
