Broker Summary

Summary of the broker

Introduction

In the rapidly changing environment of forex trading, selecting a broker is essential for both new and experienced traders. Since its launch, AssetsFX has become a significant player in the industry and offers a wide range of trading instruments and platforms for various trading styles. As a result, AssetsFX has a rapidly expanding number of international client accounts and offers competitive trading conditions, including many new features designed to enhance the trading experience.

However, because AssetsFX operates outside the jurisdiction of most major financial regulators, it has a mixed reputation that prospective clients should consider. This extensive guide provides an overview of AssetsFX, including its business structure, services, regulatory status, trading types, and trader experience.

Background and History

Company Founding and Development

According to several reputable sources, including the official AssetsFX website, WikiBit, and Traders Union, AssetsFX was founded in 2013. There are conflicting reports that AssetsFX started in 2011, but the majority of credible sources agree that 2013 is the official founding year for the company. The broker operates under two business entities: AssetsFX Global Ltd., registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Assets Multi Ltd., registered in Mauritius.

Although the founder's names are not known, since its inception, AssetsFX has expanded its services to include many different products. The broker originally started as an online currency broker, but has now added CFDS on all major stock exchanges, indices, commodities, and cryptocurrencies. The launch of MetaTrader 4 in 2014 and several other important milestones, such as the introduction of cent and ECN accounts, have contributed to the growth of AssetsFX as a global brand serving over 180,000 traders in more than 180 countries. The company's headquarters are in Cyprus, with regional offices in the UAE, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa.

Key Features and Offerings

Trading Platforms

AssetsFX provides multiple trading platforms for traders at various levels and with different technical requirements. The two most popular platforms are MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and the newly released MetaTrader 5 (MT5). Both platforms provide access to all three trading methods (desktop, web, and mobile) to ensure a seamless experience for traders across devices.

MT5 offers improved charting tools, more technical indicators, and a broader range of asset classes to trade than its predecessor. For traders who wish to trade without downloading any software, the web browser-based WebTrader provides direct access to all market assets. The mobile application for both iOS and Android also allows traders to trade on the go, even when they are not at their computers.

Key Features and Offerings

Trading Platforms

AssetsFX offers the following types of trading accounts:

Standard Account: A standard trading account intended for general trading with competitive spreads and no commissions.

Cent Account: A cent account explicitly designed for beginners to accommodate smaller position sizes and lower minimum deposit amounts.

ECN Account: An ECN account for experienced or professional traders who require direct access to the market with low spreads and commission-based pricing.

Islamic Account: An Islamic account that does not charge rollover fees in accordance with the principles of Sharia law.

Instruments Offered

AssetsFX provides its clients with access to a wide variety of financial instruments, including:

• More than 50 forex currency pairs, encompassing not only the highest traded currencies but also low-quality and exotic currencies.

• CFD contracts on precious metals, such as gold and silver, major stock market indices, including the S&P500 and NASDAQ, as well as commodities such as oil and gas.

• Contracts for differences on various stocks from the major stock exchanges in both the U.S. and Europe.

• Cryptocurrency trading in the leading cryptographic currencies, such as bitcoin and ether, will also be available, and clients can deposit and withdraw bitcoin and ether without having to pay any fees.

Licensing and Regulatory Support

When searching for a forex broker, one of the most important factors to consider is that broker's regulatory status. AssetsFX does not operate under the supervision of a significant financial authority, meaning traders are putting themselves at risk, as there is no legal recourse if something were to happen to their investment.

The company's operating entities are all registered in jurisdictions with very relaxed regulatory requirements (Saint Vincent & the Grenadines and Mauritius), and, as such, neither jurisdiction has issued any valid financial license for the company. Because of this lack of oversight, regulatory agencies have issued warnings regarding the operation of AssetsFX, and their trust ratings from independent monitoring agencies are very low.

Warnings From Agencies

In August of 2024, Assets FX was added to the Central Bank of Russia's Warning List due to suspected illegal activities related to its Securities Markets. Also, WikiFX rated them very low, with a trust score of 2.49/10, and Fast Bull has identified this broker as a SCAM because there do not appear to be any regulatory registrations or protections for Clients. If Clients deal with this unregulated Company, they cannot access a Compensation Fund or any formal dispute-resolution mechanism. Although AssetsFX claims they have segregated Client Accounts, no independent source can verify this.

Trading Conditions and Platform Technology

Trading Conditions

AssetsFX is providing very competitive Trading conditions for all its Clients; this is particularly attractive to Traders interested in Higher Leverage and Lower Spreads. The broker offers leverage up to 1,1000 on Major Currency Pairs, which is much Higher than what most Regulated Brokers allow. The Account Types offered by AssetsFX have different spreads and Commissions. The ECN Accounts provide Spreads close to zero, but charge commissions; whilst Standard Accounts carry the spreads in the price, so there are no additional Commission Costs applied.

Market Image and User Experience

This broker offers a range of trading options and competitive trading conditions. Still, it lacks transparency and has documentation issues with its customer support department (poor) and its regulatory compliance (very low). Other complaints about slow withdrawals have persisted since the beginning of the year, causing much frustration among traders. Although traders appreciate the wide range of instruments offered, the high leverage available, and the absence of fees for dealing in cryptocurrencies, these benefits can be overshadowed by the ongoing issue of delayed or missed withdrawals.

The independent websites that currently rate different online brokers show this broker's mixed reputation; for example, the WikiFX website rates AssetsFX at 2.49/10 based on an average of several trust ratings and many reports citing difficulties with fund withdrawals. In addition, the FastBull website has classified assetsFX as a SCAM based on numerous reports from disgruntled traders. Consequently, any trader considering using AssetsFX should consider these negative factors before making any deposits.

Current Updates

Despite many regulatory challenges, AssetsFX has consistently marketed its brand and services to traders across the Middle East and Asia. For example, in 2024, at the WIKI FINANCE EXPO in Dubai, AssetsFX was awarded "Most Trusted Forex Broker—Asia" and also had an exhibition of their ECN PRO account at the Money Expo in Qatar. Furthermore, AssetsFX participated in the Dubai Forex Expo, which increased the broker's overall recognition among traders in that region.

The August 2024 notice from the Central Bank of Russia remains an ongoing issue that creates uncertainty, as this warning continues to show that regulatory authorities will be watching (or monitoring) AssetsFX. setsFX may face serious regulatory scrutiny and encounter legal issues related to client trading in some areas.

Conclusion

AssetsFX is an excellent option for anyone looking for a diverse range of instruments, leverage, and a modern platform for trading globally. Also, the company's ability to support trades globally, introduce innovations such as free crypto trading, and execute trades on an ECN adds to its appeal to clients. However, the fact that AssetsFX is not regulated, and the potential risks that this entails, must be recognised.

Potential clients should do their due diligence on AssetsFX before opening an account, research the broker's regulatory standing and user feedback, and review the broker's fees. While AssetsFX provides a competitive trading environment, the absence of a regulatory authority and the history of customer service issues should encourage traders to exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence when dealing with AssetsFX or any broker(s) associated with the company.
