Who they are
A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.
- Brand: Athlos Capital Investment
- Legal entity: None. No company name, registration number or jurisdiction appeared anywhere on the site, including in its own legal documents.
- Registered: No corporate registration was ever disclosed. The Cyprus address it printed belongs to a different company.
- Website: athloscapitalinvest.com, with a client portal at panel.athloscapitalinvest.com. The domain no longer resolves and is no longer registered.
- Only licence: None. It described itself as a secure and regulated broker but held no authorisation, and CySEC has said so publicly.
- Offers: CFDs on forex, gold and silver, indices, shares and bitcoin, sold in Italian, with online account opening and a deposit and withdrawal portal.
- Not accepted: No restricted-country list was published, which is itself unusual for a firm soliciting inside the European Union.
- Age claim: 'Presenti Dal 2009'. The earliest evidence of the website is December 2024.
- Not to be confused with: Athlos Capital Investment Services Ltd, a real CySEC licensed investment firm at athloscapital.com. That firm is not the subject of this report and appears to be the party whose identity was taken.

Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
Two findings from CySEC's own records settle this, and each would be serious on its own.
- A regulator named this exact website. On 20 May 2025 CySEC published a warning listing athloscapitalinvest.com among fourteen sites, stating that they do not belong to an entity granted authorisation for the provision of investment services. That is not an inference about a similar name. It is the domain itself.
- The impersonation is documented in the register. The site's contact page gave the address '17 Stasinou Avenue, Bedizia Tower 6th & 7th Floor, 1060 Nicosia Cyprus' and the number +357 22 110 776. CySEC's register records that same address for Athlos Capital Investment Services Ltd, licence 348/17, whose number is +357 22 110 777 and whose approved websites are listed as athloscapital.com and usesophic.com. The name, the address and almost the phone number were taken from a licensed firm. The website was not.
- A client described the mechanic independently. One reviewer wrote that the callers made him believe they were regulated by showing him the regulatory registration of the real company, which has a slightly different name, took a first payment of about 200 euros, pressed for more, and then blocked his access and kept the balance and profits. That account matches what the register shows, and it was written by someone who had no access to the register comparison.
- The age claim is not survivable. Every page carried 'present since 2009' in the footer. The first certificate issued for the domain dates from 18 December 2024 and the first archived copy of the site from 21 December 2024. The gap is roughly sixteen years and no predecessor domain carries any earlier history.
- The site was assembled from another operation's kit. Several of its own account-opening buttons pointed at a different broker brand's client portal, and one section of body copy invited visitors to discover opportunities with that other brand instead. A genuine firm does not send its sign-up traffic to a competitor by accident.
- Nothing behind it was real. The legal documents were produced by a free terms generator and still contained an unfilled governing-law placeholder. No legal entity was named anywhere. The footer also promised free Lloyd's of London cover of up to one million euros for eligible clients, a claim with no supporting entity to stand behind it.
- Client money. Reviews on the site's own domain page run four in total, none of them positive, with three describing the same outcome: funds requested and not returned. The volume is small, but it is unanimous, it is specific, and it fits the register evidence rather than standing alone.
Where the operating history is concerned, the figure rests on the website alone, because no company was ever disclosed that could be dated. On that basis the operation ran for well under two years.
Evidence ledger
Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1CySEC's warning of 20 May 2025 names athloscapitalinvest.com among fourteen websites that do not belong to any entity authorised to provide investment services in Cyprus.
E2The CySEC register entry for Athlos Capital Investment Services Ltd, licence 348/17, records its approved websites as www.athloscapital.com and www.usesophic.com, and its address as 17 Stasinou Avenue, Bedizia Tower, Nicosia. athloscapitalinvest.com is not an approved site of that firm or of any other licensee.
E3The suspect site's contact page published the licensed firm's registered address verbatim, 17 Stasinou Avenue, Bedizia Tower 6th and 7th Floor, 1060 Nicosia Cyprus, with the phone number +357 22 110 776 against the licensed firm's +357 22 110 777.
E4Every page carried the footer claim Presenti Dal 2009, meaning present since 2009, while the earliest certificate issued for the domain dates from 18 December 2024 and the earliest archived copy of the site from 21 December 2024.
E5A client wrote that the callers made him believe they were regulated by showing the regulatory registration of the real company, which has a slightly different name, took a first payment of about 200 euros, pressed for further payments, and then blocked his access and kept the balance and profits.
E6A second client reported requesting a withdrawal that was never paid, being told to wait a few days, and then finding that the handler assigned to him, named as Alex Devos, had disappeared and no one answered. A third described being unable to reach her funds amid continual excuses.
E7Several of the site's own account-opening buttons pointed at a different broker brand's client portal, and a section of body copy invited visitors to discover opportunities with that other brand, showing the site was built from another operation's template.
E8The site's legal documentation page named no company, no registration number and no regulator, was produced with a free terms and conditions generator, and still contained an unfilled governing-law placeholder in place of a jurisdiction.
E9The footer of every page promised eligible clients a free Lloyd's of London insurance policy covering instruments held or managed on their behalf up to one million euros, a guarantee with no disclosed legal entity behind it.
E10An independent broker directory listing the same website, athloscapitalinvest.com, records it as unregulated and high risk and cites the CySEC warning of May 2025.
E11athloscapitalinvest.com no longer resolves and is no longer present in the .com registry, and the review platform for that domain records that the company's website has closed. The operation appears to have shut down after the warning.
E12Athlos Capital Investment Services Ltd is a genuine CySEC licensed investment firm operating at athloscapital.com, incorporated in Cyprus under number 362228 with licence 348/17 dated 11 December 2017. This concerns the impersonated firm and is not a finding about the website reviewed here.
E13The website ran a full Italian-language sales operation with account opening, a deposit and withdrawal portal and a withdrawals help section, confirming it solicited retail deposits for CFD trading rather than selling a service that needs no licence.
The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
We looked for the innocent reading before reaching this verdict, and one part of the picture genuinely deserves care.
- Could this have been a regional site of the licensed firm? This was the strongest candidate explanation, and it fails on the register: CySEC lists the approved websites for licence 348/17 and this domain is not among them, while CySEC separately stated the warned sites belong to no authorised entity. The licensed firm is an institutional fixed income and wealth management business, not a retail CFD shop advertising in Italian.
- Could the complaints be planted by a competitor? Fake scam accusations are real and we screen for them. One of the four reviews promotes a fund recovery service, which is a known bait pattern, and we have discounted it. But the remaining accounts name a specific handler, a specific first payment and a specific sequence, and the register evidence does not depend on them at all.
- Could a young firm simply not have been registered yet? Registration lag is a genuine phenomenon. It does not apply here, because the finding is not an absence. CySEC affirmatively published the domain as unauthorised.
- What genuinely counts in its favour: the complaint record is thin in absolute terms, four reviews on one platform, and we have found no enforcement action or court judgment against any named operator. On the complaints alone we would not have gone beyond a cautious rating. The verdict rests on the regulator's warning and the register comparison, not on the review count.
- And to be explicit: Athlos Capital Investment Services Ltd, the CySEC licensed firm at athloscapital.com, is a separate and apparently legitimate business. Nothing in this report is a finding against it. On the evidence it is the injured party.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
These are the specific things that would move this verdict, and we would apply them.
- CySEC withdrawing or correcting the 20 May 2025 warning, or adding athloscapitalinvest.com to the approved websites recorded against licence 348/17. Either would remove the central finding.
- Athlos Capital Investment Services Ltd confirming that this domain was an authorised channel of its own group, which would convert the address and name overlap from impersonation into ordinary group structure.
- Documentary evidence of a real operating company behind the website, with a registration number and jurisdiction, together with a licence covering retail CFD business.
- Evidence that the advertised 2009 history belongs to a named predecessor domain or entity with a traceable record, rather than to a site first seen in December 2024.
- Credible reports of clients being paid out in full, which would contradict the pattern currently on record.
- For anyone who wants to test this independently: the two decisive checks are the CySEC warning list and the approved-website field on the register entry for licence 348/17. Both are public and both take a minute.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is Athlos Capital Investment (athloscapitalinvest.com) a scam?
Yes, on our assessment. The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission named athloscapitalinvest.com in a warning on 20 May 2025, stating the site does not belong to any authorised entity. The site also published the registered address and near-identical phone number of a real licensed firm it had no connection to. Clients report deposits taken and withdrawals never paid.
Is Athlos Capital Investment a fraud?
We hold evidence rather than a court finding, so we put it this way: we assess the risk of fraud as high. CySEC has publicly warned that the website is not authorised, the site wore another licensed company's address and name, and clients describe money going in and not coming back. Only a court or a regulator can make a formal finding of fraud.
Is it regulated by CySEC?
No. CySEC has explicitly stated the opposite. Its 20 May 2025 warning lists athloscapitalinvest.com among websites that do not belong to any entity authorised to provide investment services in Cyprus.
Is this the same company as Athlos Capital at athloscapital.com?
No, and the difference matters. Athlos Capital Investment Services Ltd is a genuine CySEC licensed investment firm (licence 348/17) operating at athloscapital.com. The website reviewed here copied its name and address without connection to it. On the evidence, the licensed firm is the victim of this, not the operator.
Can I still withdraw my money?
Not through the website. athloscapitalinvest.com no longer resolves and the domain is no longer registered, so the client portal is gone. Your realistic routes are a chargeback or recall through your bank or card issuer, and a report to your national regulator.
Was my money ever safe there?
No. Without a licence there is no client-money segregation requirement, no regulatory supervision and no investor compensation scheme behind the account. The site's promise of free Lloyd's of London cover up to one million euros had no disclosed legal entity standing behind it.
Who actually owned or ran it?
That was never disclosed. No company name, registration number or jurisdiction appeared anywhere on the site, and its legal documents were generated from a free template that still contained an unfilled governing-law placeholder. An operation that will not name itself is not one to hold your money.
How old was this broker really?
Under two years. The footer claimed a presence since 2009, but the first certificate for the domain dates from 18 December 2024 and the first archived copy of the site from 21 December 2024. No earlier domain or company carries the claimed history.
Is it a clone firm, and what does that mean?
Yes. A clone is a fake operation that copies a real regulated company's name, address and licence details so that a check appears to pass. Here the address matched a licensed Cyprus firm exactly and the phone number differed by a single digit, while the website itself was not one the regulator lists for that firm.
I was cold-called by them. Is that normal for a real broker?
No. Unsolicited investment calls are a standard opening move for unauthorised operations, and one client reported being shown the real company's regulatory registration during such a call. Authorised firms in the EU face strict limits on cold-calling and do not need to borrow another company's paperwork.
They are asking for a fee or tax before releasing my funds. Should I pay?
No. A demand for any further payment as a condition of releasing your money is the advance-fee pattern and has no legitimate equivalent. No regulated broker requires a payment to return your own balance. Stop, keep the messages as evidence, and report it.
Someone contacted me offering to recover my losses. Is that genuine?
Treat it as a second scam. One review on this domain already promotes a recovery service, which is a known way of targeting people who have just lost money. Legitimate recovery runs through your bank, your card scheme, the police and your regulator, not through an upfront fee to a stranger.
What should I check before depositing with any broker?
Two things, in this order. Search the regulator's warning list for the exact web address you are on. Then open the regulator's register entry for the licence being claimed and confirm that your web address is listed there as an approved site. This case would have failed both checks in under a minute.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
Our advice is to treat athloscapitalinvest.com as an operation to stay away from, and to act quickly if you already sent money.
- Do not send further funds under any circumstances, and be especially wary of any demand for a tax, fee, insurance or verification payment before a withdrawal is released. That request is part of the scam, never the cure for it.
- If you deposited by card or bank transfer, contact your bank or card issuer now and ask about a chargeback or a recall. Time limits apply, so do not wait.
- Report it. In Cyprus, to CySEC. In Italy, to CONSOB and the Postal Police. Elsewhere, to your national financial regulator. The domain is already on CySEC's warning list, which supports a complaint.
- Keep every record: transfer receipts, account statements, chat and email logs, the handler's name, and any screenshots of your balance. These are what a bank or a regulator will ask for.
- Ignore anyone offering to recover your money for an upfront fee. One review on this very domain already promotes such a service. Approaches like that target people who have just been defrauded, and they are a second loss waiting to happen.
- Before your next broker, run the same two checks we did: search the regulator's warning list for the exact web address, then open the register entry and confirm that the website you are on is one of the approved sites named there.
