Position 40 on the list of Finance Companies kept by Banque du Liban (BDL), the central bank of Lebanon, is held by CREDIT FINANCIER INVEST S.A.L., a Lebanese company and one of the registered corporate entities behind the CFI brand, not the brand itself. As at this check on 2 November 2026, the entry appeared in both the Arabic and English editions, last updated by BDL on 29 January 2026.
BDL supervises institutions and publishes lists of them by category, including banks, exchange institutions and electronic payment services providers. A place on the Finance Companies list records an institution licence from the central bank. It is not a permission to carry out financial intermediation such as brokerage, which in Lebanon is licensed by a separate authority, the Capital Markets Authority.
The entry shows that the company holds this position on the list. It says nothing about solvency or conduct, and since the list has no status column, presence is the only signal it gives. The licence attaches to the Lebanese company, not to the group's companies elsewhere or automatically to every website the brand runs. Number 26 on the same list, CREDIT FINANCIER S.A.L., is a separate entry under a different name.
Neither edition prints a start date, an expiry date, a status word, an address, a telephone number or a website for any entry. The Arabic edition gives the line as ٤٠ - الاعتماد المالي إنفست ش.م.ل. The number is a position on this list, not a licence number in the usual sense, and BDL's update notes show positions surviving a change of company name.
It can be checked on the Institutions Supervised by BDL page at bdl.gov.lb, whose Finance Companies row links to both current editions and dates the last update. A later edition that left position 40 vacant, or printed another name against it, would change this answer.
