Questions about this licence

Answered from this register entry and the authority’s own record.

Most Popular Questions

Yes, for its European section. CFI's risk disclosure (October 2026) says it sets its spreads at its absolute discretion 'since we are acting as market maker', with changes effective immediately, and its Terms and Conditions (clause 5.3) say the company acts as principal and remains the sole counterparty to clients' trades even when it passes orders to third-party liquidity providers. Clause 9.8 adds that all prices on its trading platform are set at its discretion, and clause 6.1 says limit orders are executed at the best available price rather than the requested price.

CFI's FAQ says retail clients get a margin call at a 50% margin level followed by a stop-out, professional clients are stopped out at 10%, and negative balance protection applies. Its Terms and Conditions (October 2026, clause 5.10) describe a different mechanism: when the margin level reaches 50% for retail clients or 10% for professional clients, the platform starts to hedge the open positions by opening new trades automatically. On Fridays and holidays clients must keep a 100% margin level, because CFI may hedge rather than close positions.

Yes, in some cases. CFI's Order Execution Policy (July 2026, clause 5.4) lets it close positions and cancel the profits or losses from practices it lists, including scalping, which it defines as opening and closing orders for an arbitrarily short period of time, even though CFI's FAQ suggests the Dynamic Trader account for scalpers. Its Terms and Conditions (October 2026, clause 10.2) add that any profit arising from an error by the company is, at its discretion, for the company's benefit.

Yes. CFI's Share, Option and Bonds Trading Terms and Conditions (October 2026, clause 15) charge an inactive account fee of $100 in December when an account had no transaction from January to November, or when funds are left more than a year after an account was closed; the fee never exceeds the account balance and is not charged while another of the client's accounts is active. The same terms add a monthly activity fee of $10 minus the commissions generated when a share account's monthly commissions are below $10, waived for the first 12 months, and the general Terms and Conditions (clause 30.3) allow an account inactive for 30 consecutive days to be archived.

Complaints to Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd, the Cyprus company behind CFI's European section, go in writing and free of charge to its Compliance Department at compliance.cy@cfi.trade. CFI acknowledges a complaint within 5 working days with a reference number and gives a final response within two months, or at most three months if it needs longer, and a client can also go to the Financial Ombudsman, CySEC, the courts or the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform. For a disputed trade, act fast: CFI's Terms and Conditions (October 2026, clause 6.4) allow at most 2 working days to ask for a trade to be audited or clarified, after which the complaint may be declined, and clause 11.5 asks clients to report an incorrect statement within 24 hours.

CFI's European section offers CFDs on forex (67 currency pairs), stocks, ETFs, indices, metals, energies, cryptocurrencies and bonds, plus real U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs through CFI Trader Evolution and TradingView. CFI advertises more than 15,000 products in total.

Swap-free trading is not a standard feature at CFI: both account pages list swap-free as 'Not available', with a footnote that a swap-free policy might apply. CFI's FAQ says it might offer swap-free accounts on request, and its forex page mentions swap-free accounts subject to terms and conditions, so a client who needs one should ask CFI before opening an account.

CFI does not accept residents of the United States, Sudan, Syria, the Republic of Korea or other jurisdictions listed under FATF and MONEYVAL recommendations, and its share trading terms also exclude U.S. nationals. The sign-up form of its European section lists the EU and EEA countries plus Brazil, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritius, Seychelles, the UAE, Vanuatu and the UK, although its website terms exclude UK residents, for whom CFI's site has a separate UK section. Residents of other countries may be served through CFI's other regional sections.

CFI's site says its payments team aims to process a withdrawal request within 30 minutes during working hours, with requests received outside working hours handled the next working day, and its FAQ says bank transfers take up to two working days and card refunds typically 1 to 7 business days. Its Terms and Conditions (October 2026) give different figures: the company processes a withdrawal request the same day or the next working day (clause 15.9), and a money transfer requires five banking days after the client's instructions (clause 15.3). CFI may also hold funds until a client renews expired identity or address documents (clauses 15.12 and 28.3.10).

CFI's European section accepts Visa and Mastercard (processed by SafeCharge), bank wire and Skrill, in EUR or USD. Card and Skrill deposits carry a 4% fee and card deposits are capped at $10,000 per week, CFI says it charges no fee on wire deposits, and withdrawals cost €25 or $25 by wire and 4% by Skrill. Withdrawals are requested in the CFI Portal and must use the deposit method: card deposits are refunded to the card up to the amount deposited, profits are paid by bank transfer and third-party payments are not accepted. CFI's FAQ says it charges no fees on most deposit methods, which its deposits page contradicts for cards and Skrill.

The Zero Commission account charges no commission and builds its costs into the spread, but CFI gives three EUR/USD figures for it: 0.6 to 1.5 pips on the account page, a target as low as 0.4 pips on the Fee & Charges page and 1.6 in its Costs and Charges document of October 2026. The Dynamic Trader account quotes EUR/USD from 0.0 pips plus a commission its account pages call low without stating an amount. CFI's risk disclosure says it sets spreads at its absolute discretion as a market maker, with changes effective immediately, and real U.S. shares cost $0.005 per share with a $1 minimum per trade.

CFI offers two live accounts: Zero Commission, which charges no commission and builds its costs into the spread, and Dynamic Trader, which charges a commission per trade in exchange for spreads from 0.0 pips on EUR/USD. Both take USD or EUR as base currency, start at 0.01 lots, permit expert advisors and offer leverage up to 1:500 only to elective professional clients. The account pages list the minimum deposit as 'None', while CFI's Terms and Conditions (October 2026, clause 15.6) set a minimum deposit of $100 or EUR 100. Demo, joint and corporate accounts are also available.

CFI's European section is operated by Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd, which the Cyprus Department of Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property listed under number HE 303814 when WIKILIX checked on 2 November 2026, incorporated on 28 March 2012, with its registered office at 2 Giannou Kranidioti Street, Larnaca. According to the 2024 disclosure report on CFI's site, its parent undertaking is HM Global Holdings Limited, a Cyprus holding company that also holds 85% of the group holding company, CFI Financial Group Holding Ltd. Clients of CFI's other regional sections may contract with other group companies, such as its UK, Seychelles or Vanuatu companies.

CFI's European section can be reached by phone on +357 24 400270, by email at cyprus@cfi.trade, by live chat on the website, through a ticket form or by requesting a call back. CFI gives two sets of hours: its contact page promises 24/7 support, while its FAQ says support is available 24 hours a day, six days a week. CFI says it communicates only through the channels listed on its website and never asks for passwords or ID documents over social media or messaging apps.

For clients of Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd, the Cyprus company behind CFI's European section, three protections apply: CFI says it keeps client money in segregated accounts, its risk disclosure says losses will never exceed the account balance, and Cyprus's Investor Compensation Fund covers eligible retail claims up to 90% of the covered claims or €20,000, whichever is lower. Eligible clients of CFI's UK company may be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme up to £85,000, while its Seychelles, Vanuatu and Mauritius companies offer no compensation scheme. Two contract terms work the other way: the Terms and Conditions (October 2026, clause 18.1) limit CFI's liability to the money a client deposited, and the risk disclosure lets CFI pass on to clients losses from hacking, malware and operational glitches that affect its hedging of cryptocurrency CFDs.

CFI's website says there is no minimum deposit: both the Zero Commission and the Dynamic Trader account list it as 'None', and its deposits page says none is required to open a real trading account. Its Terms and Conditions (October 2026, clause 15.6) say otherwise, setting a minimum deposit of $100 for a USD trading account and EUR 100 for a EUR account, while its share trading terms state that no minimum deposit is required. Card deposits are limited to $10,000 per week.

The highest leverage CFI shows is 1:500, and it is only for clients classified as elective professional clients. Retail clients of its Cyprus company, Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd, get up to 30:1 on major currency pairs, 20:1 on non-major pairs, gold and major indices, 10:1 on other commodities and non-major indices, 5:1 on individual shares and 2:1 on cryptocurrencies. CFI's Terms and Conditions (October 2026, clause 5.6(b)) also let it adjust an account's leverage without prior notice.

CFI offers MetaTrader 5, TradingView and its own CFI Trader Evolution platform. MT5 is available for Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone, with expert advisors supported, and a CFI account can be connected to TradingView free of charge through CFI's broker page there. CFI Trader Evolution is CFI's platform for U.S. shares listed on New York exchanges and runs in the browser and as the CFI Multi-Asset app.

Yes. CFI's group companies hold licences that WIKILIX confirmed on the regulators' own registers on 2 November 2026, and the company named in a client's agreement decides which one applies. Credit Financier Invest (CFI) Ltd, which runs the European section, holds Cyprus Investment Firm licence 179/12 from CySEC, and the UK company, Credit Financier Invest Limited, is authorised by the FCA under firm reference number 828955. Other group companies are licensed in the UAE (Capital Market Authority), South Africa (FSCA, FSP 53711), Jordan (Jordan Securities Commission), Azerbaijan (Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan), Palestine (Palestine Capital Market Authority) and Lebanon (Banque du Liban, finance company no. 40), and offshore in Seychelles (FSA), Vanuatu (VFSC) and Mauritius (FSC).

Licence C161178 was issued by The Financial Services Commission (FSC), the financial authority for Mauritius.
CFI holds this FSC licence. A licence on record means the authority published an entry; it is not an endorsement.
We located this entry on the FSC register. Note that confirming a register ENTRY is not the same as confirming a live licence — the register’s own wording on this page is what states its current standing.
Wikilix rates FSC tier 3. Supervision is lighter-touch and client protections vary.
CFI has 10 other licences on record with Wikilix, across 9 jurisdictions. They are listed further down this page.
