FSCA is classed as an offshore regime. An offshore registration can be entirely legitimate, but it typically means lower capital requirements, no compensation scheme, and a complaint route that is harder to use from abroad.

Questions about this licence

Answered from this register entry and the authority’s own record.

Most Popular Questions

Yes, its documents allow it. The client agreement lets CWG MARKETS LTD, at its absolute discretion and with or without notice, treat all of a client's open positions and trades as void, profitable ones included, if it finds the client's use of its services breaches the agreement. Its Order Execution Policy adds that profit, loss and commission on frequent trades opened and closed within 120 seconds, above 75 lots in a day or above 20% of total trading volume, and on any form of arbitrage, may be deemed invalid.

It can. The client agreement reserves the right, at the company's sole discretion, to charge a monthly inactivity fee of 20 EUR, USD, GBP or CHF, depending on the account currency, once an account has had no trading or funding for three consecutive months and holds enough funds to pay it. The fee is not charged on accounts that were never funded, and the company may close an account that has been inactive for two years or more.

WIKILIX's trust rating for CWG Markets, last calculated on 28 October 2026, is 'Do not trust'. The broker's Vanuatu company does hold a VFSC licence confirmed on the register, but its UK company has applied to cancel its FCA authorisation, and its client agreement lets it void a client's trades and profits at its absolute discretion when it finds a breach of the agreement. The broker itself warns that unauthorised firms have cloned its website, logo and social media pages.

Not for new business. The FCA register, checked on 28 October 2026, shows CWG Markets Ltd, firm reference 785129, as 'Authorised - applied to cancel' since 6 July 2026, after the FCA accepted the firm's application to remove all regulated activities from its permission, so it cannot carry on regulated activity in the UK or accept new client money. That authorisation never covered clients of the Vanuatu company that opens accounts through www.cwgplatform.com, although the site's clone warning still calls CWG Markets Limited an authorised firm.

Yes, CWG Markets offers demo accounts that last 30 days, with leverage of up to 1:100. The MT4 demo runs on the ECN account type and the MT5 demo on the Standard or ECN type, and there is no Islamic demo account.

CWG Markets' contact page gives complaint@cwgmarkets.com and +84 2444582688 for complaints, while its Complaints Procedure asks for complaints by email to info@cwgvu.com. Under that procedure a complaint is acknowledged within 5 days with a reference number, the response is prepared by the Compliance Department and approved by management, and it should arrive within two months. Trading errors must be reported within 24 hours of the error, or the company will not be able to investigate them, and a dispute the procedure does not settle goes to the courts of Vanuatu under the client agreement.

CWG Markets is the trading name of the CWG Group of companies. Accounts opened through www.cwgplatform.com are held with CWG MARKETS LTD, also styled CWG Markets (VU), company number 41694 of Port Vila, Vanuatu, which is listed on the VFSC's Financial Dealers Licensee List, checked on 28 October 2026. The group's SVG client area names CWG Markets Ltd (SVG), registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines under number 25447 BC 2019, and has taken no new registrations since 14 September 2026. The group also includes CWG MARKETS SA (PTY) LTD in South Africa and the UK company CWG Markets Ltd (08888720), which has applied to cancel its FCA authorisation.

Yes. CWG Markets warns on its own site that unauthorised firms and individuals have copied its website content, logo and social media pages and contacted people through WhatsApp, Facebook and WeChat, and the FCA register records three clone entries, added in 2019, 2021 and 2023, for unauthorised firms using its UK company's details. The broker's own site runs on www.cwgplatform.com, www.cwgmarkets.com and www.cwgpro.com, and new accounts are opened in the client area at secure.cwgforex.club. The broker asks anyone contacted by an impostor to report it to support@cwgmarkets.co.uk.

CWG Markets' footer says it does not serve residents of countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran and the United States. Its account-opening form disables 35 jurisdictions, among them the United States, Malaysia, Iran, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, North Korea, Cuba, Syria and Venezuela. Indonesia is the exception: the footer and the broker's anti-money-laundering manual exclude it, but the form still lets it be selected.

Yes, every CWG Markets account type can be opened as an Islamic account on MT4 or MT5, automatically for clients from Islamic countries and on request for others. USD pairs, gold and silver are swap-free with no time limit, other non-USD pairs are swap-free for the first three calendar days and then carry a fee of 5 US dollars per lot per day, and indices and crude oil are not swap-free. There is no Islamic demo account.

CWG Markets' deposit and withdrawal page says it charges no deposit or withdrawal fees, but the same page's withdrawal terms add a 25 US dollar bank fee on international bank transfer withdrawals under 500 US dollars, with bank fees covered from 500 US dollars. Its FAQ allows five free withdrawals a month and charges 5 US dollars for each one after that, and the client agreement says all payment and transfer charges are borne by the client. Intermediary banks and e-wallet channels may also charge their own fees.

CWG Markets' withdrawal table says requests are processed within one hour on every channel, with the money arriving instantly by e-wallet and within 1 to 72 hours by bank transfer or China UnionPay. Its legal documents give longer times: the terms and conditions say requests are normally processed within 2 to 3 business days after internal approval and compliance checks, and the client agreement commits to paying a bank transfer to the client's own account within five business days once the instruction is complete and free margin covers it. Withdrawals go back to the original deposit source first.

CWG Markets lists 13 payment channels on its deposit and withdrawal page: bank transfer in GBP, USD or EUR, the e-wallets Skrill, Neteller and Sticpay, China UnionPay, USDT through 5Pay on the ERC20 or TRC20 network, and local payment services for Asia, Africa and South America, namely Help2Pay, 5Pay, 77Pay, Asia Banks, ECOM, Kora and Pay Retailers. Its FAQ also describes card deposits, although the channel table lists no card option. Withdrawals go back to the original source where possible and only to accounts in the client's own name, and payments from third parties are not accepted.

CWG Markets charges no commission on its Cent and Standard accounts, where the cost is in the spread, from 2.2 and 1.5 pips respectively. The ECN Account has spreads from 0.0 pips and a commission of 3 US dollars per side, which its own page gives as 3 dollars per lot on forex and CFDs, and the broker's FAQ quotes 5 US dollars per 10 lots of natural gas on a Standard account. Islamic accounts pay a processing fee of 5 US dollars per lot per day on non-USD pairs held beyond the first three calendar days, and the client agreement allows a monthly inactivity fee of 20 EUR, USD, GBP or CHF after three months without trading or funding.

CWG Markets offers three live accounts: the Cent Account from 10 US dollars, with spreads from 2.2 pips, no commission and leverage up to 1:500; the Standard Account from 50 US dollars, with spreads from 1.5 pips, no commission and up to 1:1000; and the ECN Account from 200 US dollars, with spreads from 0.0 pips, a commission of 3 US dollars per side and up to 1:1000. Each can be opened as an Islamic swap-free account. Some older pages still use names such as Instant, Advanced or Premium, which have no terms of their own on the account comparison page.

CWG Markets offers live chat on its website, a contact form, phone lines on +44 2037699268 and +84 2444582688, and email at service@cwgmarkets.com. Its pages disagree on hours: the About Us page says 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday, the FAQ says 24/5, and the contact page's title advertises 24/7 support. The website itself is published in 14 languages, including English, Chinese, Arabic, Vietnamese and Thai.

CWG Markets lists forex, precious metals, energy, indices, commodity futures and cryptocurrencies as its trading instruments, offered as CFDs and margin FX contracts. The Cent Account is narrower, covering forex, precious metals and indices.

CWG Markets' account pages give maximum leverage of 1:1000 on the Standard and ECN accounts and 1:500 on the Cent Account. The broker's own figures vary: its FAQ says up to 1:400, with 1:400 on gold and 1:100 on silver, and its crypto banner says up to 1:200. The Standard Account page adds that leverage depends on account equity and the instrument, commonly stepping down to 1:200 or 1:100 as balances rise.

The minimum deposit at CWG Markets is 10 US dollars, on the Cent Account, which the broker's FAQ still calls the Instant account. The Standard Account needs 50 US dollars and the ECN Account 200 US dollars, and the funding page sets no separate minimum for each payment channel. The client agreement, however, reserves the right to close an account holding less than 100 in its currency (USD, EUR, GBP or CHF).

CWG Markets offers MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, both as Windows downloads from its site; MT4 accounts are held in US dollars only, while MT5 accounts can be in USD, EUR or GBP. Its FAQ says the platforms also run on Android, iOS and macOS, but the site links no app store listing, Mac download or web terminal. Alongside them it runs CWG Copy Trading in its web client area, a PAMM module for money managers, and FIX API access for clients trading at least 250 million US dollars a month.

Yes, through its Vanuatu company: CWG MARKETS LTD, the company named in its client agreement, holds a Financial Dealers Licence from the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission under number 41694, confirmed on the VFSC register on 28 October 2026. Its South African company, CWG MARKETS SA (PTY) LTD, holds FSCA authorisation 54031, confirmed the same day, but only for advice and intermediary services, and the FCA register shows its UK company, CWG Markets Ltd (785129), as applied to cancel since 6 July 2026, with no regulated activity permitted. Vanuatu has no investor compensation scheme, and the client agreement lets the company hold client money in omnibus accounts and with third parties that may have a lien over it.

Licence 54031 was issued by Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), the financial authority for South Africa.
CWG Markets holds this FSCA licence. A licence on record means the authority published an entry; it is not an endorsement.
We located this entry on the FSCA register. Note that confirming a register ENTRY is not the same as confirming a live licence — the register’s own wording on this page is what states its current standing.
Wikilix rates FSCA tier 2: a well-established regime with real supervision, usually with lower compensation limits than a tier-1 authority.
Yes, FSCA is classed as an offshore regime. That can be a legitimate registration, but it usually means lower capital requirements, no compensation scheme, and a complaint route that is harder to use from abroad.
CWG Markets has 2 other licences on record with Wikilix, across 2 jurisdictions. They are listed further down this page.
