CWG Markets Broker Overview
CWG Markets is a forex and CFD broker and the trading name of the CWG Group of companies. Accounts opened through its international website, www.cwgplatform.com, are held with CWG MARKETS LTD, also styled CWG Markets (VU), a company in Port Vila, Vanuatu, that holds a Financial Dealers Licence from the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission under number 41694. Clients trade forex, precious metals, energy, indices, commodity futures and cryptocurrencies on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, through Cent, Standard and ECN accounts that start at 10, 50 and 200 US dollars, with leverage advertised up to 1:1000.
CWG Markets Regulation and License
The Vanuatu licence is confirmed on the regulator's own register: the VFSC's Financial Dealers Licensee List, checked on 28 October 2026, shows CWG MARKETS LTD as a licensed financial dealer in classes A, B and C under number 41694, effective 2 October 2023. CWG MARKETS LTD is the company named in the client agreement, so this is the licence that applies to client accounts. The VFSC is an offshore regulator with light supervision, and Vanuatu has no investor compensation scheme.
Two other group companies hold authorisations of their own. CWG MARKETS SA (PTY) LTD, registration 2023/678775/07, is authorised by South Africa's Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) under FSP number 54031, effective 5 June 2024 and confirmed on the FSCA register on 28 October 2026; it is a Category I authorisation for advice and intermediary services, not an OTC derivatives provider licence, and it does not cover money held by the Vanuatu company. The UK company, CWG Markets Ltd (Companies House number 08888720), has been authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under firm reference 785129 since 2 July 2018, but the FCA register, checked on 28 October 2026, shows it as 'Authorised - applied to cancel' since 6 July 2026. The FCA accepted the firm's application to remove all regulated activities from its permission, so it cannot carry on regulated activity in the UK or accept new client money, and a voluntary requirement in force since 8 June 2026 required it to tell clients it was ceasing UK regulated activity, close their positions, return client money and ensure that no connected person or entity advertises its FCA regulated status. The FCA authorisation never covered clients of the Vanuatu company.
Is CWG Markets Regulated?
Yes, offshore: the company that holds accounts opened through www.cwgplatform.com is regulated by the VFSC in Vanuatu, not by the FCA or the FSCA. Its UK company can no longer carry on regulated business, and the South African authorisation belongs to a separate company that provides advice and intermediary services, so neither protects money deposited with CWG MARKETS LTD. The group's older SVG client area names CWG Markets Ltd (SVG), registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines under number 25447 BC 2019; that is a company registration, not a financial licence, and a notice in that client area says it has taken no new registrations since 14 September 2026.
CWG MARKETS LTD (Vanuatu)
Two group companies carry the name CWG Markets Ltd. The client agreement is with CWG MARKETS LTD, company number 41694, whose registered office it gives as Govant Building, PO Box 1276, Port Vila, Vanuatu; the VFSC's Financial Dealers Licensee List, checked on 28 October 2026, lists the same company at 1276 Govant Building, Kumul Highway, Port Vila. The UK company of the same name, number 08888720 at 76 Cannon Street, London, is the FCA-authorised firm that has applied to cancel its authorisation, and the site footer still prints both the Port Vila and the London address. The client agreement shows which company a client actually contracts with, and the regulator and the protections follow that company.
Is CWG Markets Safe?
WIKILIX's trust rating for CWG Markets, last calculated on 28 October 2026, is 'Do not trust'. Client accounts are held offshore in Vanuatu with no investor compensation scheme, and the client agreement lets the company hold client money in omnibus accounts and with third parties that may have a lien over it, treat a client's trades as void, profitable ones included, at its absolute discretion when it finds a breach of the agreement, and suspend an account with or without notice. Its Order Execution Policy adds that profit, loss and commission on frequent trades opened and closed within 120 seconds, above 75 lots a day or above 20% of total volume, and on any form of arbitrage, may be deemed invalid.
The broker warns that unauthorised firms have cloned its website, logo and social media pages, and the FCA register records three clone entries, added in 2019, 2021 and 2023, for unauthorised firms using its UK company's details. Its own site runs on www.cwgplatform.com, www.cwgmarkets.com and www.cwgpro.com, and new accounts are opened at secure.cwgforex.club. The clone warning on www.cwgplatform.com still describes CWG Markets Limited as 'an authorised firm' and points readers to the FCA register, which now shows that firm applying to cancel.
CWG Markets Account Types
The Cent Account starts at 10 US dollars, with spreads from 2.2 pips, no commission and leverage up to 1:500, and covers forex, precious metals and indices. The Standard Account starts at 50 US dollars with spreads from 1.5 pips and no commission, and the ECN Account at 200 US dollars with spreads from 0.0 pips and a commission; both offer leverage up to 1:1000. All three can be held in GBP, EUR or USD, allow expert advisors and can be opened as Islamic swap-free accounts. The client agreement, however, reserves the right to close an account holding less than 100 in its currency (USD, EUR, GBP or CHF), more than the Cent and Standard minimums. Some older pages still name Instant, Advanced, Classic, Premium or Institutional accounts, none of which has terms of its own on the account comparison page.
CWG Markets Spreads, Commissions and Fees
The Cent and Standard accounts charge no commission, so their cost is in the spread. The ECN Account charges 3 US dollars per side, which its own page gives as 3 dollars per lot on forex and CFDs, and the broker's FAQ adds a charge of 5 dollars per 10 lots of natural gas on the Standard Account. On Islamic accounts, USD pairs, gold and silver are swap-free with no time limit and other non-USD pairs only for the first three calendar days, after which a fee of 5 US dollars per lot per day applies; indices and crude oil are not swap-free. The client agreement also allows a monthly inactivity fee of 20 EUR, USD, GBP or CHF, depending on the account currency, after three consecutive months without trading or funding, and the company may close an account that has been inactive for two years or more.
CWG Markets Leverage
The account pages advertise up to 1:1000 on the Standard and ECN accounts and up to 1:500 on the Cent Account. The broker's other figures differ: its FAQ says up to 1:400, with 1:400 on gold and 1:100 on silver, its crypto banner says up to 1:200, and the Standard Account page says leverage depends on equity and instrument and commonly falls to 1:200 or 1:100 as balances rise.
CWG Markets Trading Platforms
CWG Markets offers MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 as Windows downloads from its site; MT4 accounts are in US dollars only, while MT5 accounts can be in USD, EUR or GBP. Its FAQ lists Android, iOS and macOS as compatible, but the site links no app store listing, Mac download or web terminal. The broker also runs CWG Copy Trading in its web client area and a PAMM module for money managers, and clients trading at least 250 million US dollars a month can apply for FIX API access.
CWG Markets Deposits and Withdrawals
The deposit and withdrawal page lists 13 channels, among them bank transfer in GBP, USD or EUR, Skrill, Neteller, Sticpay, China UnionPay, USDT through 5Pay, and local payment services for Asia, Africa and South America; the FAQ and the client agreement also mention Visa and Mastercard card deposits, which the channel table does not list. The page calls every channel free, yet its own withdrawal terms add a 25 US dollar bank fee on international bank transfer withdrawals under 500 US dollars, the FAQ allows five free withdrawals a month and charges 5 US dollars for each one after that, and the client agreement puts all payment and transfer charges on the client.
Withdrawals are shown as processed within one hour, while the terms and conditions say requests are normally processed within 2 to 3 business days after internal approval and compliance checks, and the client agreement commits to paying a bank transfer to the client's own account within five business days once the instruction is complete. Payments must come from, and are returned to, accounts in the client's own name, and withdrawals go back to the original deposit source first.
CWG Markets Support
Support is offered by live chat, a contact form, phone on +44 2037699268 and +84 2444582688, and email at service@cwgmarkets.com. The About Us page gives the hours as 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday, the FAQ says 24/5, and the contact page's title advertises 24/7 support. Complaints go to complaint@cwgmarkets.com according to the contact page, or by email to info@cwgvu.com under the Complaints Procedure, which promises an acknowledgement within 5 days and a response within two months; trading errors must be reported within 24 hours of the error, and disputes the procedure does not settle go to the courts of Vanuatu.
CWG Markets Pros and Cons
Strengths:
- A low entry point, with the Cent Account from 10 US dollars
- A Vanuatu licence confirmed on the VFSC register
- MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, plus copy trading, PAMM and FIX API access
- 13 payment channels, including local methods for Asia, Africa and South America
- An Islamic option on every account type
Limitations:
- Accounts on the international site are held offshore in Vanuatu, with no investor compensation scheme
- The UK company has applied to cancel its FCA authorisation, and the South African one covers advice and intermediary services only
- The client agreement lets the company void trades and profits at its discretion
- The broker's own pages conflict on leverage, withdrawal fees, withdrawal times and support hours
- Clone firms copy the brand, so the website address needs checking
CWG Markets Review and Assessment
CWG Markets offers MetaTrader with a small first deposit, high leverage and local payment channels across Asia, Africa and South America, but its international business runs through a Vanuatu company regulated only by the VFSC, and its UK company has applied to cancel its FCA authorisation. With a WIKILIX trust rating of 'Do not trust' and a client agreement that gives the company wide discretion over trades, profits and accounts, the client agreement and the Order Execution Policy, rather than the marketing pages, are the documents to read on fees, withdrawal times and trading restrictions before funding an account.
