Is Errante a scam?

High risk (unverified)MEDIUM confidence
Updated September 9, 2026
Offshore regulatory arbitrage with profit-cancellation complaints

No. Errante is not a fake broker, and we found no evidence of fraud: it holds two licences we confirmed on the regulators' own registers, and both name its real websites. But it is not a low-risk broker either, and we rate it 60% risk.

  • Both licences are real. The Cyprus regulator CySEC lists Notely Trading Ltd under licence 383/20 as authorised, and the Seychelles FSA lists Errante Securities (Seychelles) Limited as a Securities Dealer, naming errante.com as its own website.
  • Japan issued a warning against the Seychelles company. On 28 August 2025 the Kanto Local Finance Bureau of Japan's Ministry of Finance publicly warned that Errante Securities (Seychelles) Ltd was soliciting over-the-counter derivatives business online without the registration Japanese law requires.
  • Clients repeatedly report that profits were taken back. Reviewers on more than one platform describe the same thing: gains cancelled after the fact, blamed on rule breaches or a platform error, and then withdrawals refused.
  • Which company you deal with decides your protection. European clients contract with the Cyprus firm and are covered by the Investor Compensation Fund. Everyone else contracts with the Seychelles company, which has no compensation scheme at all.
  • The business itself is real and established. The Cyprus operating company has been registered since February 2019 and files its annual returns, so this is a roughly seven-year-old operation, not a new shell.

Regulation

6/10 · High

Two genuine licences confirmed on their own registers, one of them an EU MiFID licence, but a Japanese authority has warned the Seychelles entity for unregistered solicitation and most clients contract offshore with no compensation scheme.

Identity & transparency

2/10 · Low

Both companies are named openly with registration numbers, real addresses that match the registers, and working links to both regulators; the Seychelles register even lists the group's alternate domains.

Withdrawals & conduct

6/10 · High

A consistent fund-integrity pattern of profits reversed then withdrawals refused, meeting all four pattern tests, but set against credible reports of normal payouts and a company that answers its complaints.

Reputation

5/10 · Moderate

Net positive on volume at 4.3 across 82 Trustpilot reviews, yet 17% are one star, a broker directory logs a dozen unresolved complaints, and there is an official Japanese warning on record.

Website claims

3/10 · Low

Disclosure is largely honest, with both entities and licence numbers published, a real loss-rate warning and no inflated founding date; the friction is a group that excludes Japan in Europe while its offshore arm solicited there.

Operational history

2/10 · Low

Roughly seven years of verified history, with the Cyprus company registered on 13 February 2019, annual returns filed through 2026 and a licence held since February 2020.

Licences the broker publishes

Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC)

VerifiedTier 2
A full MiFID II investment firm licence issued in an EU member state. It requires client money to be held separately from the firm's own funds, brings negative balance protection for retail clients, and includes membership of the Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund, which covers eligible retail claims up to 20,000 euro if the firm fails.
Protection: Moderate. Genuine European supervision with compensation cover, but only for clients who contract with the Cyprus company.Official register

Financial Services Authority (Seychelles)

VerifiedTier 3Limited relevance
A Seychelles Securities Dealer licence. It permits dealing in securities and derivatives from Seychelles, but it carries no investor compensation scheme, and cross-border enforcement for a client based elsewhere is slow and often impractical.
Protection: Low. No compensation fund and limited practical recourse for clients outside Seychelles.Official register

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

Errante sits in the middle of our scale because the good evidence and the bad evidence are both solid and neither cancels the other out.

  • The regulatory identity checks out completely. We searched both registers and the entries match this broker rather than someone else's. The Seychelles FSA record for Errante Securities (Seychelles) Limited lists info@errante.com as the contact and https://www.errante.com as the website. The CySEC record for Notely Trading Ltd shows licence 383/20, granted 3 February 2020, status authorised, with www.errante.eu as the approved domain. That rules out the most serious possibility, that the firm is wearing another company's credentials.
  • A national authority has publicly warned about this exact company. Japan's Kanto Local Finance Bureau named Errante Securities (Seychelles) Ltd on 28 August 2025, listed the same Vairam Building address the broker publishes, noted that the service is marketed as Errante, and stated the firm had been soliciting over-the-counter derivatives online without registration. The entity also appears on the Financial Services Agency's national list of overseas firms sent warning letters. This is not a name collision: the company name, the address and the brand all match.
  • The complaints describe one mechanism, not scattered grumbling. Across Trustpilot, a public complaint thread on a forex forum and a third-party broker directory, clients describe profits being reversed after the fact, justified either as a breach of internal trading rules or as a platform error, followed by refusal to release the money. The reports carry checkable detail, including an MT4 account number, a figure of about 4,900 dollars, and a cluster around the sharp gold move of 29 January 2026. Same failure, more than one platform, specific and dated: that is a real pattern rather than noise.
  • What holds the score down. Trustpilot shows 82 reviews averaging 4.3 out of 5, with 76% at five stars, and the company answers its negative reviews. Many clients report withdrawals arriving normally. The Cyprus registry shows an active company filing annual returns since 2019. Trade cancellations during an extreme gold move can also have an innocent explanation, because brokers are generally entitled to void trades filled on erroneous prices.
  • What holds the score up. The protection you get depends entirely on which company you sign with, and most clients outside Europe sign with the Seychelles entity, which has no investor compensation scheme. That is also the entity Japan warned about. A firm that uses an EU licence for its public credibility while doing the bulk of its cross-border business through an offshore arm carries a real risk that we think a reader should be told about plainly.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

The strongest honest case for Errante, which we tested rather than assumed.

  • It is genuinely licensed twice over, and we proved it ourselves. A CySEC licence is real European supervision under MiFID II. It requires client money to be held separately from company money and brings Investor Compensation Fund cover for eligible retail clients. That is far more than most offshore brokers offer.
  • The clone test passes on both licences. The registers name this broker's own domains. Nothing here suggests the borrowed identity pattern that drives most scam verdicts.
  • The Japanese warning is about permission, not theft. It says the firm was not registered to solicit Japanese residents. It does not allege that client money was stolen, and no regulator has taken enforcement action for fraud against either company. Many well-known offshore brokers appear on the same Japanese list.
  • The corporate paperwork is clean. The Cyprus Registrar of Companies shows Notely Trading Limited registered on 13 February 2019, still registered, with annual returns filed through 2026. This is a functioning company, not a dormant shell.
  • Most customers are satisfied. A 4.3 average across 82 Trustpilot reviews is not the profile of an operation that keeps everyone's money, and the firm replies to complaints rather than disappearing.
  • The disclosure is honest. The site names both companies, publishes both licence numbers with working links to the regulators, and states that 44.30% of retail accounts lose money. There are no invented awards, no guaranteed returns and no inflated founding date.
  • The trading operation is real. A live MetaTrader server runs under the broker's own name, which is not something a purely fake platform bothers with.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

Concrete things that would move this verdict in either direction.

  • Would lower the risk: Japan's authorities removing the entity from the unregistered-firms list, or the broker publishing a clear statement that it has stopped soliciting in jurisdictions where it holds no permission.
  • Would lower the risk: a documented run of resolved profit-cancellation disputes, for example refunds confirmed by the clients who complained, or a published policy setting out exactly when trades can be voided and how that is appealed.
  • Would lower the risk: the Seychelles entity adding an independent dispute-resolution scheme or compensation arrangement for non-European clients.
  • Would raise the risk sharply: a second national regulator naming errante.com or either company on a warning list, particularly one alleging unpaid withdrawals rather than missing registration.
  • Would raise the risk sharply: any CySEC enforcement decision, licence suspension or condition imposed on Notely Trading Ltd. We found none.
  • Would raise it to a scam verdict: credible reports that clients were asked to pay a tax, fee or insurance charge before their funds would be released. We looked for that pattern and did not find it.
  • Would raise it to a scam verdict: the fund-integrity complaints spreading into a sustained cluster with the broker no longer responding, which is the shape a withdrawal freeze takes.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

13 questions
Is Errante a scam?

No, not in the sense of a fake broker. We confirmed both of its licences on the regulators' own registers, and both records name Errante's real websites, so it is not impersonating anyone. However we rate it 60% risk because a Japanese authority has warned about its Seychelles company and because clients on more than one platform report profits being cancelled and withdrawals refused.

Is Errante a fraud?

We found no evidence of fraud. There is no enforcement action, no court judgment and no regulator finding of fraud against either Errante company. The one official warning, from Japan, concerns operating without the required registration there, which is a licensing matter rather than a finding of theft. That said, the pattern of reversed profits reported by clients is serious and we would not describe this broker as low risk.

Is Errante regulated?

Yes, by two authorities. Notely Trading Ltd holds CySEC licence 383/20 in Cyprus, granted on 3 February 2020 and currently authorised. Errante Securities (Seychelles) Ltd holds Securities Dealer licence SD038 from the Seychelles Financial Services Authority. We opened both registers and confirmed the entries match this broker.

Can I withdraw my money from Errante?

Most clients appear to withdraw without trouble, and Trustpilot shows a 4.3 average across 82 reviews. But a recurring group of complaints describes profits being cancelled after the fact and then withdrawals of those profits being refused, sometimes with the account closed. If you trade there, test a withdrawal with a small amount first and keep records.

Is my money safe with Errante?

It depends which company holds it. Clients of the Cyprus entity get segregated client money and cover from the Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund if the firm fails. Clients of the Seychelles entity, which is most people outside Europe, have no compensation scheme at all and limited practical recourse.

Who owns Errante and where is it based?

The brand runs through two companies. Errante Securities (Seychelles) Limited, based at Vairam Building, Providence, Mahe, Seychelles, operates errante.com. Notely Trading Limited, registration HE394425, based at 30 Karpenisiou in Nicosia, Cyprus, operates errante.eu for European clients.

How old is Errante?

About seven years. The Cyprus company was registered on 13 February 2019 and its CySEC licence followed on 3 February 2020. The errante.com domain was first registered back in 1999, but that was long before this business existed and the broker does not claim otherwise.

What is the difference between errante.com and errante.eu?

They are different companies with different levels of protection. errante.eu is the Cyprus firm, regulated in the European Union with compensation cover. errante.com is the Seychelles firm, regulated offshore with no compensation scheme. European visitors are routed to the .eu site automatically.

What is the Seychelles FSA licence worth?

Less than it sounds. It is a genuine licence and we confirmed it on the register, so the company is not making it up. But Seychelles is a low-tier offshore jurisdiction with no investor compensation fund, and enforcing a complaint from abroad is slow and often impractical. Treat it as far weaker than an EU or UK licence.

Why did Japan warn about Errante?

On 28 August 2025 the Kanto Local Finance Bureau of Japan's Ministry of Finance published a warning stating that Errante Securities (Seychelles) Ltd had been soliciting over-the-counter derivatives business online without registering in Japan, as Japanese law requires. The entity also appears on the Financial Services Agency's national list of overseas firms that were sent warning letters.

Is Errante a clone broker?

No. A clone quotes a real firm's licence number while operating from a different website. We checked both registers and they list Errante's own domains, errante.eu for the Cyprus licence and errante.com for the Seychelles licence, along with matching contact details. The identity is genuine.

What should I check before depositing with Errante?

Read the client agreement to see which company you are contracting with, since that decides your protection. Verify licence 383/20 on the CySEC register and the Seychelles entry yourself using the links above. Read the terms on when trades can be cancelled or voided. Then start with an amount you can afford to lose and test a withdrawal.

What should I do if Errante cancelled my profits?

Save everything first: trade history, account statements, ticket numbers and all support correspondence. Ask in writing for the specific contract clause relied on and the trades affected. If you are a client of the Cyprus company, escalate to CySEC and then the Cyprus Financial Ombudsman. If you are a client of the Seychelles company, complain to the Seychelles FSA, and be aware recovery is harder.

What we recommend

The practical takeaway from everything above.

Our advice

If you are considering Errante, or already have money with it, here is what we would do.

  • Check which company you are actually signing with. Read the client agreement before depositing. If it names Errante Securities (Seychelles) Limited, you are not covered by the European compensation fund and your recourse is in Seychelles.
  • European residents should insist on the Cyprus entity. Registering through errante.eu with Notely Trading Ltd is the only route that brings MiFID II protections and Investor Compensation Fund cover.
  • Verify the licences yourself. Both regulators publish free searchable registers and we have linked the exact entries below. Never rely on a badge shown on a broker's own website.
  • Keep deposits small and withdraw early. Given the pattern of reversed profits, test a withdrawal with a modest amount before committing more, and keep your own records of every trade and ticket.
  • Save the evidence if a dispute starts. Screenshot your trade history, balance and support messages immediately. Accounts in these reports were closed while the client was still arguing.
  • Know where to complain. Clients of the Cyprus entity can escalate to CySEC and then to the Cyprus Financial Ombudsman. Clients of the Seychelles entity can complain to the Seychelles FSA, though practical recovery is much harder.
  • Japanese residents should not deal with this firm. Their own authorities have warned that it is not registered to offer these services there.
