Broker Summary
Summary of the broker
Evli Broker Overview
Evli is the trading name of Evli Plc, a Helsinki wealth manager that describes itself on its own About us page as a Nordic wealth manager founded in 1985, with around 300 employees and assets under management of EUR 22.6 billion. Its business is discretionary and advisory wealth management, mutual and alternative investment funds, structured investment products and corporate finance, with securities brokerage alongside. Clients use a proprietary online service called My Evli. The site publishes no retail foreign exchange or contract-for-difference offering, no leverage figures and no MetaTrader or cTrader server, so anyone arriving here looking for a leveraged currency broker is in the wrong place.
Evli Regulation and License
The main service provider is named in the site's terms of use as Evli Plc, business ID 3239286-2, of Aleksanterinkatu 19 A, PO Box 1081, 00101 Helsinki. The same page states that Evli Plc's operations are monitored by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority, at Snellmaninkatu 6, PO Box 103, 00101 Helsinki, and that all Evli Group companies operating in Finland hold a licence to act as a credit institution or investment services company in Finland. No licence number, licence type, issue date or scope is published anywhere on the site, and this research did not confirm the authorisation on the authority's own register.
Is Evli Regulated?
Evli's regulation is claimed by the firm but not confirmed here. A named national supervisor and a specific supervisory address are a materially stronger claim than the offshore registrations many retail brokers advertise, but a claim without a licence number cannot be checked by a reader, and no register entry was opened for it. Treat the supervision as stated rather than verified until the firm publishes its licence reference.
Evli Oyj
The registered legal entity is Evli Oyj, a Finnish public limited company registered under business ID 3239286-2 on 30 September 2021 and entered in the trade register on 2 April 2022, at Aleksanterinkatu 19, 00100 Helsinki. It trades as Evli Plc and Evli Abp and holds the Legal Entity Identifier 984500F4CCF3AD74F766, where its status is recorded as active. The group's fund business runs through a second, much older company, Evli-Rahastoyhtiö Oy, business ID 0744659-0, registered on 18 May 1989 at the same address. The registered company is considerably younger than the 1985 founding date the brand claims, which is a point about corporate structure rather than about the brand's history. A company registration is not financial regulation and does not stand in for the missing licence reference.
Is Evli Safe?
The firm is at least a real, traceable, currently active Finnish company at a verifiable Helsinki office, which removes the most common risk in this sector. Set against that, the licence reference a client would need in order to check the protections available to them is not published, so the scope of any authorisation and any investor compensation arrangement cannot be read off the site. The offering is also unleveraged long-term investment management rather than short-term speculation, which is a different risk profile from a leveraged margin account.
Evli Account Types
Evli does not publish trading account tiers. It publishes service lines instead: Private Banking, Institutional Asset Management, Aurator Asset Management, mutual funds, alternative investment funds, structured investment products and corporate finance. Opening a client relationship online is free of charge and, per the onboarding page, requires Finnish personal online banking credentials. The practical entry point is the minimum subscription on the retail share classes of the funds, most of which is EUR 1,000 or SEK 10,000, with institutional classes running from EUR 2 million upwards.
Evli Spreads, Commissions and Fees
Pricing is commission-based, not spread-based. The published fee schedule charges 0.05% per transaction with a EUR 7.00 minimum on OMX Helsinki, and 0.12% per transaction with a EUR 20.00 minimum on OMX Stockholm, OMX Copenhagen, Deutsche Boerse, NYSE and NASDAQ, plus EUR 20.00 for an order placed by telephone. The separate Broker Services desk charges 0.50% with a EUR 5.00 minimum on Finnish, Swedish and Baltic securities, rising to 1.00% with a EUR 250.00 minimum for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the rest of the world. Custody is 0.01% a year on Finnish and Swedish securities, 0.10% on the main listed foreign markets and 1.00% elsewhere, each with a EUR 3.00 monthly minimum, and VAT of 25.5% is added. Evli charges no subscription, redemption or switch fee on its funds apart from Evli Emerging Frontier at 2% on subscription and Evli Nordic Senior Secured Loan at up to 2% on redemption inside twelve months.
Evli Trading Platforms
The only platform is My Evli, the firm's own browser-based portfolio and order service, reached at m2.evli.com. Share price information on the venues Evli brokes is provided free with a fifteen-minute delay. There is no MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 or cTrader offering, and no downloadable desktop terminal.
Evli Deposits and Withdrawals
Funding is by bank transfer only, as set out on the money transfers page. A transfer initiated through My Evli from Nordea, the OP Bank Group, Danske Bank, S-Pankki or Ålandsbanken is available immediately; a manual euro transfer to one of Evli's client funds accounts is available the following banking day at the earliest and needs the portfolio-specific payment reference. Incoming international money arrives by SWIFT MT103 in euro or Swedish krona, and Swedish krona can be sent domestically within Sweden. Two rules matter: the transfer must come from the client's own bank account, or it is returned to the payer, and there are no card, e-wallet or cryptocurrency channels at all. On the way out, a SEPA payment to the client's designated account is free, a non-SEPA payment order costs EUR 25.00 or EUR 60.00 as an express payment, and a transfer where Evli pays the receiving bank's fees costs EUR 50.00 or EUR 100.00 express.
Evli Support
Support is by telephone and email during Finnish business hours, with no live chat. The switchboard is +358 9 476 690, open Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 16.30, and Investor Service is +358 9 4766 9701 from 9.30 to 16.30 Finnish time, with general enquiries at info@evli.com. The site is published in Finnish, English and Swedish, and there are offices in Helsinki and in Stockholm at Regeringsgatan 67.
Evli Pros and Cons
Strengths:
- A named, registry-active Finnish public limited company at a verifiable Helsinki address, with a second, long-established fund management company behind the fund range.
- A national supervisor named on the firm's own terms, together with its supervisory address, rather than an offshore registration.
- A fully published fee schedule covering brokerage, custody, funds and money transfers, with no charge to open a client relationship.
- No leverage and no margin product, so no risk of a leveraged loss exceeding the amount invested.
Limitations:
- No licence number, licence type or scope is published, so the authorisation and any investor protection cannot be checked from the site.
- Onboarding effectively requires Finnish online banking credentials, which puts the service out of reach of most non-Nordic clients.
- Bank transfer is the only funding route, and it must come from an account in the client's own name.
- No retail foreign exchange, contract-for-difference or MetaTrader offering, and no live chat support.
Evli Review and Assessment
Evli is best understood as an established Nordic wealth and fund manager that also brokes securities, not as a retail currency or CFD venue, and it should be compared against other wealth managers rather than against margin brokers. The corporate identity behind the brand is solid and checkable, the fee schedule is unusually complete, and the absence of leverage removes a whole class of risk. The single thing to resolve before funding an account is the licence reference: ask Evli directly for its authorisation number and the investor compensation arrangements that apply to your portfolio, so the protection you are relying on is something you have seen rather than something you have inferred.

How we know
- 1The site gate at https://www.evli.com/en requires a visitor to select a country before entering, and its selector offers exactly these 30 European jurisdictions plus a catch-all 'Other' option; the 30 named codes are therefore recorded as explicitly accepted.
- 2Because the same selector also offers 'Other', no jurisdiction can be read out of it as refused, so no blocked list is written.
- 3The terms of use at https://www.evli.com/en/terms-of-use state that all Evli Group companies operating in Finland hold a Finnish licence, that the pages are 'primarily intended for residents of Finland unless separately agreed or stated otherwise', and that the material 'is not intended for persons resident in countries where such activities have not been authorized by law'. That is a category rather than any named country, so it yields no country code in any list.
- 4The service fee schedule at https://www.evli.com/en/service-fees states the fees 'relate to the services provided in Finland and Sweden', which corroborates Finland and Sweden as served markets.
- 5Onboarding at https://www.evli.com/en/become-a-customer runs through an external signature service and requires Finnish personal online banking credentials, so no country array is exposed by the registration flow itself.
- 6No dedicated restricted-countries page is published: /en/restricted-countries returns 404, and the FAQ at https://www.evli.com/en/faq carries no jurisdiction restrictions.
Recorded by WIKILIX research, not published by the broker, and not a guarantee. A country listed nowhere above is not thereby accepted — check Evli's own terms before you open an account.
