Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
GTCFX is not a paper company. Four different regulators list a GTC entity on their own registers, and the clone test passes: the name and registered address on the Vanuatu register match the website exactly. That rules out the impersonation pattern that drives most scam verdicts. What keeps the score high is a combination of a live regulator warning, a suppressed review rating, and a licensing structure that gives international clients far less than the logos suggest.
- A regulator has formally warned against this exact company. On 26 March 2026 Japan's Kanto Local Finance Bureau, acting under delegation from the Financial Services Agency, published a warning against GTC Global Trade Capital Co. Limited at First Floor, B and P House, Kumul Highway, Port Vila, for soliciting over-the-counter derivatives business through the internet without registration. The notice states that the service the operator provides is named GTCFX. Entity, address and brand all match. This is the single heaviest item against the broker.
- The tier-1 licences do not cover the entity holding your money. FCA number 744501 is held by Global Markets Group Limited, which GTCFX describes as affiliated through a common shareholder. That firm's own website confirms the number and says it has been FCA authorised since September 2016, but makes no mention of GTC or GTCFX anywhere. The Australian licence sits with GTC Global (Australia) Pty Ltd, a separate company, and the international site does not accept Australian residents. An international client contracts with a Vanuatu or an Anjouan company instead.
- The money-holding licences are weak ones. Vanuatu and Anjouan are low-tier offshore registries with no meaningful compensation scheme. The South African authorisation is real but is an intermediary permission only: that entity introduces clients to the Vanuatu company and is not the counterparty.
- Trustpilot has pulled the star rating. The page for www.gtcfx.com carries a notice that the rating is unavailable because of a breach of Trustpilot's guidelines. Across 329 reviews the split is 55 percent five-star and 38 percent one-star with almost nothing in between, and a visible share of the positive reviews are marked as invited. A hollow middle like that is a reputation-management signature, not an organic customer base.
- Clients report money not coming back. Between June and August 2026 reviewers described a withdrawal request answered by account deactivation with the card never credited, copy-trading profit of 85 dollars arriving as 23 dollars, a refund still outstanding weeks after a 9 June 2026 platform outage, and an unresolved account liquidation logged as case number 00638805. These carry checkable detail. They describe different mechanisms rather than one repeated failure, and they sit largely on a single platform, so we record the pattern as unconfirmed rather than proven.
- The age claim runs ahead of the record. The site advertises 2012 and over 14 years in business. The domain was registered on 16 June 2015 and the oldest GTC company we could date began on 21 March 2016. The operating history we can evidence is roughly ten and a half years, which is still substantial, but it is not what the marketing says.
- What we did not find matters too. There is no entry for gtcfx.com on the FCA, ASIC, CFTC, MAS, SFC or IOSCO warning lists, no enforcement action and no fraud-related court record naming this entity. The Quebec alert that surfaces under the GTCFX name is about gtcfxorus.com and gtcfxorus.cc, which are not this broker.
Evidence ledger
Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1Japan's Kanto Local Finance Bureau, acting under delegation from the Financial Services Agency, warned GTC Global Trade Capital Co. Limited of First Floor, B and P House, Kumul Highway, Port Vila on 26 March 2026 for soliciting over-the-counter derivatives business over the internet without registration. The notice records that the service the operator provides is named GTCFX. Entity, registered address and brand all match the broker under review.
E2Trustpilot displays a warning on the page for www.gtcfx.com stating that the company's rating is unavailable due to a breach of its guidelines. Across 329 reviews the distribution is 55 percent five-star, 3 percent four-star, 3 percent three-star, under 1 percent two-star and 38 percent one-star, and a number of the positive reviews are labelled as invited.
StrongTrustpilotE3Fund-integrity complaints with checkable detail posted between June and August 2026: a client whose withdrawal request was met with account deactivation and no credit to the card after ten days, a copy-trading profit of 85 dollars that reached the wallet as 23 dollars, a refund still outstanding weeks after a platform outage on 9 June 2026, and an unresolved account liquidation logged as case number 00638805. Different users, but different mechanisms and largely one platform.
ModerateTrustpilot one-star reviewsE4The Vanuatu Financial Services Commission Financial Dealers Licensee List records GTC GLOBAL TRADE CAPITAL CO. LIMITED, company number 40354, class of licence A, B and C, date of licence 2 June 2023, status Active. The name and the Port Vila address match the broker's own website exactly, so the licence belongs to the operation under review rather than to a similarly named firm.
Hard proofVanuatu Financial Services CommissionE5The FSCA register returns FSP number 51545 as GTC GLOBAL SA(PTY) LTD with trading name GTCFX and status Authorized. The register therefore ties the GTCFX brand directly to a supervised South African entity. That entity acts as an intermediary introducing clients to the Vanuatu company and is not the counterparty to trades.
E6The FSC Mauritius Online Public Register lists GTC Global LTD with a licence dated 3 June 2022 of type SEC-2.1B Investment Dealer, Full Service Dealer excluding Underwriting. This is a genuine dealing permission rather than a mere company registration.
E7The Anjouan Offshore Finance Authority licence record confirms GTC Global Trading LTD, company number 16283, licence L16283/GTC, status ACTIVE, with a date of incorporation of 10 March 2026 and a licence end date of 10 March 2027. The group added this offshore entity recently.
E8GTCFX's own regulations page lists FCA firm reference number 744501 against Global Markets Group Limited and annotates the relationship as affiliated through a common shareholder. The same page lists the Australian licence 496371 against GTC Global (Australia) Pty Ltd. Neither licence is held by the company that contracts with international clients.
ModerateGTCFX regulations pageE9The website of Global Markets Group Limited confirms firm reference number 744501 and states the firm has been authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority to act as an investment firm since September 2016. The site makes no mention of GTC or GTCFX anywhere, so the connection GTCFX asserts is not reciprocated by the licensed firm.
ModerateGlobal Markets Group LimitedE10Registry records confirm the corporate structure is real. Companies House lists GLOBAL MARKETS GROUP LIMITED, company number 09493910, incorporated 17 March 2015 and active. ABN Lookup lists GTC GLOBAL (AUSTRALIA) PTY LTD, ACN 611 436 796, as an active Australian private company with an ABN effective from 21 March 2016.
E11Registration records for gtcfx.com show the domain was created on 16 June 2015 through GoDaddy and remains active on Amazon nameservers. The site advertises a 2012 founding and says it was established over 14 years ago, which no registry, domain or archive record supports.
E12The Canadian Securities Administrators investor alert filed under the name GTCFX, issued by Quebec's Autorite des marches financiers on 6 June 2025, records the websites used as m.gtcfxorus.com, m.gtcfxorus.cc, pc.gtcfxorus.com and pc.gtcfxorus.cc. These are not gtcfx.com, so the alert concerns a separate operation trading on this brand name rather than the broker under review.
E13GTCFX publishes a restricted-countries page that bars North Korea, Iran and Myanmar outright and lists the United States, Australia, Japan, Afghanistan, Russia, Ukraine and Israel under service restrictions. Japan appearing there is consistent with the market having been closed, and it contradicts the solicitation Japan's authorities described.
ModerateGTCFX restricted countries pageE14A sweep of the FCA warning list, ASIC and Moneysmart investor alerts, the CFTC RED List, the MAS investor alert list, the SFC alert list and the IOSCO alerts portal returned no entry naming gtcfx.com or the GTC entities. No enforcement action and no fraud-related court record naming this operation was found.
The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
The case for GTCFX being a legitimate, if aggressive, offshore broker is stronger than the headline number suggests, and it deserves stating plainly.
- The licences are real and we checked them ourselves. The Vanuatu commission lists GTC GLOBAL TRADE CAPITAL CO. LIMITED under company number 40354 with classes A, B and C, active since 2 June 2023. South Africa's register returns GTC GLOBAL SA (PTY) LTD under FSP 51545 as Authorized, and records GTCFX as its trading name, which ties the brand directly to a supervised entity. Mauritius lists GTC Global LTD as a full-service investment dealer from 3 June 2022. Anjouan confirms its licence as active to March 2027.
- The disclosure is better than most. GTCFX publishes a per-jurisdiction table naming each company, its registration number, its licence number and its registered address, and it explicitly labels the UK firm as affiliated through a common shareholder rather than passing it off as its own. Plenty of offshore brokers hide exactly this.
- The corporate paper trail checks out. Global Markets Group Limited is a real, active UK company incorporated on 17 March 2015. GTC Global (Australia) Pty Ltd holds ACN 611 436 796 and has been ABN-active since 21 March 2016. The group also runs a Dubai commodities arm licensed by the UAE authorities.
- There is a real trading business here. Multiple live MT4 and MT5 servers exist under the GTC name, the mobile app has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times, and the firm replies publicly to negative reviews rather than ignoring them. Fake brokerages rarely maintain that infrastructure.
- The Japanese warning is about registration, not theft. Japan requires any firm dealing with its residents to register locally, and it issues these notices routinely against offshore brokers. It is a finding of unlicensed solicitation, not a finding of fraud. GTCFX's own restricted-countries page lists Japan among the jurisdictions it does not serve, which is consistent with a firm that has since closed that market.
- Much of the worst material online is not about this website. The advance-fee stories circulating in Japanese sources describe victims recruited through social media and dating apps, then asked to pay a percentage, a tax or a verification fee before any withdrawal. That is the pig-butchering pattern, and a confirmed impersonator of this brand operates at gtcfxorus.com. We could not tie those accounts to gtcfx.com, so we have not scored them against it.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
This verdict is not fixed. Concrete things would move it in either direction.
- Lower the risk: Japan's authorities withdrawing or closing out the 26 March 2026 notice against GTC Global Trade Capital Co. Limited.
- Lower the risk: Trustpilot restoring the star rating, which would mean the guidelines breach behind its removal had been resolved.
- Lower the risk: the group moving international clients onto the Mauritius investment-dealer entity, or any licence with a real compensation scheme, instead of the Vanuatu and Anjouan companies.
- Lower the risk: the outstanding cases raised publicly in mid-2026, including case number 00638805 and the refund tied to the 9 June 2026 outage, being shown as paid.
- Lower the risk: the site dropping the 2012 founding claim, or producing a predecessor domain or company record that actually evidences it.
- Raise the risk: any tier-1 regulator adding gtcfx.com itself to a warning list, or an enforcement action naming the Vanuatu entity.
- Raise the risk sharply: credible, specific reports tied to gtcfx.com of clients being asked to pay a tax, fee or deposit before a withdrawal is released. That single pattern would change the verdict on its own.
- Raise the risk: the Vanuatu or Mauritius licence lapsing, being suspended or being surrendered while the site still advertises it.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is GTCFX a scam?
We did not find proof that GTCFX is a scam, and it is not a fake company. Its licences in Vanuatu, South Africa, Mauritius and Anjouan all appear on the regulators' own registers. We still rate it high risk at 62 percent, mainly because Japan's Kanto Local Finance Bureau warned against the exact company behind it on 26 March 2026, and because the entity that holds international clients' money is offshore.
Is GTCFX a fraud?
No regulator or court has found GTCFX guilty of fraud, and we found no enforcement action or fraud-related court record naming the company. The one official action is Japan's March 2026 warning, and that concerns operating without local registration rather than fraud. We assess the overall risk as high, but that is our assessment and not a legal finding.
Is GTCFX regulated?
Yes, but not by the regulator most people would assume from the website. The company that contracts with international clients is licensed in Vanuatu, with a second entity licensed in Anjouan. Both are low-tier offshore registries. The group also holds real licences in South Africa and Mauritius, and an Australian licence through a separate company.
Is GTCFX regulated by the FCA?
No. FCA firm reference number 744501 belongs to Global Markets Group Limited, a separate UK company that GTCFX describes as affiliated through a common shareholder. That firm's own website confirms the number but does not mention GTC or GTCFX. If you open an international GTCFX account, no FCA protection applies to it.
Can I withdraw my money from GTCFX?
Most reviewers do withdraw successfully, and several specifically praise the withdrawal speed. However, between June and August 2026 a number of clients reported problems, including one whose account was deactivated after a withdrawal request while the card was never credited, and another whose copy-trading profit of 85 dollars arrived as 23 dollars. Test with a small withdrawal before depositing seriously.
Is my money safe with GTCFX?
Your money sits with an offshore company. A Vanuatu or Anjouan licence carries no meaningful compensation scheme, so if the firm failed there would be little practical route to recover client funds. That is a structural risk and it applies regardless of how well the platform performs day to day.
Who owns GTCFX and where is it based?
The brand is run by a group of companies. International clients contract with GTC Global Trade Capital Co. Limited, incorporated in Vanuatu at First Floor, B and P House, Kumul Highway, Port Vila, or with GTC Global Trading Ltd in Anjouan. The group presents Dubai as its headquarters and runs a UAE commodities arm, but the contracting company is the Vanuatu one.
How old is GTCFX?
About ten and a half years of evidenced history. The gtcfx.com domain was registered on 16 June 2015 and the oldest GTC company we could date started on 21 March 2016. The website advertises 2012 and says it was established over 14 years ago, which we could not evidence from any registry, domain or archive record.
Why has Trustpilot removed the GTCFX rating?
Trustpilot displays a notice on the GTCFX page saying the rating is unavailable because of a breach of its guidelines. Trustpilot applies this when it detects misuse of its review system. Across 329 reviews the distribution is 55 percent five-star against 38 percent one-star with very little in between, and several positive reviews are labelled as invited.
Is GTCFX a clone of another broker?
No. GTCFX is the original brand and the register entries match its own name and address. The reverse is happening: another operation is impersonating GTCFX at gtcfxorus.com and gtcfxorus.cc. Quebec's Autorite des marches financiers issued an alert about those sites on 6 June 2025. They are not connected to gtcfx.com.
Why did Japan warn about GTCFX?
On 26 March 2026 the Kanto Local Finance Bureau, acting for Japan's Financial Services Agency, published a warning that GTC Global Trade Capital Co. Limited had been soliciting over-the-counter derivatives business over the internet without the registration Japanese law requires. The notice records the service name as GTCFX. GTCFX's own restricted-countries page now lists Japan as a market it does not serve.
What should I check before depositing with GTCFX?
Read the client agreement and confirm which company you are contracting with, because the licence that protects you is that company's licence and not the strongest logo on the homepage. Confirm you are on gtcfx.com and not a lookalike. Make a small deposit, then withdraw it in full before adding more. And never pay a fee, tax or unlock charge to release your own balance.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
Treat GTCFX as a high-risk offshore broker rather than a regulated one, and size any exposure accordingly.
- Know which company you are signing with. Read the client agreement before depositing. If it names the Vanuatu or the Anjouan company, the FCA, ASIC and FSCA licences on the website are not protecting your funds.
- Do not rely on the UK licence. FCA number 744501 belongs to Global Markets Group Limited, a different firm. You would have no claim on the UK compensation scheme through a GTCFX international account.
- Check the address bar every time. The only site covered by this assessment is gtcfx.com. An impersonator operates at gtcfxorus.com and gtcfxorus.cc, and Quebec's regulator has warned about it.
- Never pay to withdraw. No legitimate broker requires a tax, unlock fee, insurance payment or verification charge before releasing your own balance. A request like that is the moment to stop paying and start documenting.
- Test small and test early. Deposit a small amount, trade briefly, then withdraw the whole balance before committing more. Keep the timestamps.
- Keep your own records. Save deposit confirmations, ticket numbers, account-manager names and chat logs. The complaints that get resolved are the specific ones.
- If you are in Japan, the United States or Australia, the international site states it does not serve you, and Japan's authorities have warned against this operator by name.
- If you are already stuck, raise a formal complaint with the broker in writing, then escalate to the regulator of the entity named in your agreement, and to your card issuer or bank if you funded by card.
