Regulation
5/10 · ModerateFour registers opened and all four entries match, including a genuine Mauritius investment dealer licence, but clients of the main site get offshore cover rather than the group's Cypriot licence.
Identity & transparency
3/10 · LowEvery entity is named with its registration number and address, and the registers confirm them; the spread of six companies across five jurisdictions still makes the counterparty hard for a client to identify.

Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
The licences are real. The risk is in who holds your money and in what happens when you try to take profits out.
- Every licence we checked exists. The Mauritius register shows Lirunex Limited holding a SEC-2.1B Investment Dealer licence (full service dealer excluding underwriting) from 6 January 2025, with the same Ebene address the website publishes. The Labuan FSA money broker directory lists Lirunex Limited with a contact address at the lirunex.com domain and a named principal officer. CySEC shows Lirunex Ltd authorised since 25 September 2017. The UAE Capital Market Authority shows Lirunex Financial Services L.L.C with two active permissions. That is four registers, four matches, and it rules out a clone.
- But the strong licence does not cover the clients this report is about. CySEC records only two approved websites for Lirunex Ltd, lirunex.eu and lxprime.eu. Neither lirunex.com nor lirunex.online is on that list, and neither is meant to be: those sites contract with the Mauritius company. So the Cypriot investor compensation fund, the MiFID conduct rules and the European complaints route are not available to you if you signed up on the global site. That is a lawful group structure, not a deception, but it is the single most important thing a prospective client is likely to get wrong.
- The UAE authorisation is an advisory permission, presented as regulation. The regulator's own entity page carries a notice that a Category 5 licence does not authorise trading operations, portfolio management or executing client orders in derivatives or spot foreign exchange. Its granted activities are listed as Financial Consultations and Introduction. The broker's footer discloses this limit honestly. Its Regulations and Licenses page does not, listing the authority alongside the Mauritius regulator under the heading Regulatory Authority.
- A company number is labelled as a licence number. On lirunex.global the footer reads License No. 27147 BC 2024 for the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines entity. That is a business company registration, and the Saint Vincent regulator does not license forex brokers at all. Incorporating there is not regulation and should not be printed as though it were.
- The complaint pattern is specific and it is about money, not service. Reviewers across at least two independent platforms describe the same mechanism: trade profitably, request a withdrawal, then have the profits cancelled under the Improper or Abusive Trading clause with only the original deposit returned. One account describes a 1,780 dollar crypto withdrawal requested on 3 February 2026 held in processing and then refused, with 2,877.40 dollars of balance voided. Others name 26,000 dollars, 36,000 dollars and 81,888 dollars withheld after allegations of latency arbitrage or high-frequency trading raised after the trades were closed. Amounts, dates and the contract clause are all checkable, which is what separates this from ordinary trading-loss anger.
- A regulator did act once, and the broker responded. The Securities Commission Malaysia added Lirunex to its investor alert list in October 2023 over offering investment products to Malaysians without authorisation. Lirunex is not on that list today, and Malaysia now appears in the broker's own list of countries it will not serve. We count the original alert against it and the remediation in its favour.
- What is not here matters too. No demand for a tax, fee or unlock payment before releasing funds, which is the classic advance-fee mechanic and the most incriminating complaint type there is. No fabricated regulator. No borrowed licence number. No age misrepresentation. No current entry on any warning list we searched.
Evidence ledger
Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1The FSC Mauritius public register lists Lirunex Limited holding a SEC-2.1B Investment Dealer licence, full service dealer excluding underwriting, dated 6 January 2025, at The Catalyst Building, 40 Silicon Avenue, Cybercity, Ebene, the same address the website publishes. The licence is real and it is a dealing licence, not a company registration.
Hard proofFSC Mauritius Online Public RegisterE2The Labuan FSA financial institutions directory lists Lirunex Limited under money brokers, at Lazenda Commercial Centre, Labuan, with a contact address on the lirunex.com domain and Mr Foong Kim Weng named as principal officer. This ties the Labuan licence directly to the operation under investigation.
E3The CySEC register shows Lirunex Ltd, licence 338/17, authorised 25 September 2017, company registration 353862, Larnaca, with approved websites www.lirunex.eu and www.lxprime.eu and the trade name LX Prime. Neither lirunex.com nor lirunex.online is inside the scope of that licence.
E4The UAE Capital Market Authority register shows Lirunex Financial Services L.L.C with two granted activities, Financial Consultations and Introduction, both active. The entity is genuinely registered.
E5The same register page carries the authority's notice that the company is not licensed to conduct brokerage in financial derivatives, unregulated commodity contracts or spot foreign exchange, and that a Category 5 licence does not authorise trading operations, portfolio management or executing client orders. The broker's Regulations and Licenses page nonetheless presents the authority under the heading Regulatory Authority with a regulatory number.
E6On the group's Saint Vincent site the footer reads License No. 27147 BC 2024 for Lirunex Limited at Euro House, Kingstown. That is a business company registration number, and the Saint Vincent regulator does not license forex brokers, so presenting it as a licence number overstates it.
E7Trustpilot for lirunex.com shows 3.2 out of 5 across 158 reviews, distributed 47 percent five-star and 36 percent one-star. The dominant one-star themes are withdrawal delay and confiscation of profits after allegations of latency arbitrage or high-frequency trading, with sums including 81,888 dollars and 26,000 dollars named.
E8A second review platform shows 68 out of 100 across 218 reviews, with positive comments on execution speed and support alongside a reviewer reporting 36,000 dollars that could not be withdrawn despite repeated attempts, and another reporting roughly 70,000 dollars of profit lost to disputed pricing with 3,500 dollars offered in compensation.
E9A Forex Peace Army thread titled Lirunex rejected my Withdrawal describes a 1,780 dollar crypto withdrawal requested on 3 February 2026 that sat in processing for more than three days before being refused, followed by 2,877.40 dollars of balance being voided under the improper or abusive trading provision with only the original capital returned. The platform serves its pages only to signed-in visitors, so no link is recorded for this item.
StrongForex Peace Army community thread, Lirunex rejected my WithdrawalE10The Securities Commission Malaysia added Lirunex to its warning list in October 2023, reporting that the broker was offering local traders unauthorised access to investment products and was not in its registry of licensed companies, despite operating a Kuala Lumpur office.
E11The Securities Commission Malaysia investor alert list does not name Lirunex today. The full published list, including its L section, contains no entry for the brand, and Malaysia now appears in the broker's own list of countries it will not serve.
E12Cyprus company records show LIRUNEX LIMITED, registration HE 353862, registered on 24 March 2016 as a private limited company, status active, at Inomenon Ethnon 44, Orthodoxou Tower, Larnaca. This is the oldest company in the group and it dates the operation.
E13Domain records show lirunex.com registered on 15 March 2016 through GoDaddy, with the registration running to 2031. Taken with the Cyprus incorporation nine days later, the advertised history of over ten years is supported rather than exaggerated.
E14Certificate transparency records show the first certificate for lirunex.online issued on 3 February 2026, covering the client portal, a webtrader host and a prop-trading host. The live client portal for the main brand therefore sits on a domain first seen this year, although the brand itself is ten years old.
E15The broker's own regulations page for global clients names only the FSC Mauritius licence GB24203882 and the UAE Capital Market Authority number 20200000423, and its footer states plainly that the Dubai company does not provide investment advice, execute transactions for clients or manage client funds. The disclosure of that limit is candid.
E16The group page claims four or more global licences and lists CySEC 338/17, the UAE authority, FSC Mauritius GB24203882 and Labuan MB/20/0050, each with an entity-search link. The number advertised for Mauritius is the Global Business Licence, a company-status number, rather than the investment dealer licence the register actually records.
ModerateLirunex group licence overviewE17Lirunex replies to 100 percent of negative Trustpilot reviews, typically within a week, and at least one withdrawal fault was resolved in roughly twenty days after a client escalated publicly. A complaints function exists and is used.
E18The main site's regional restrictions exclude residents of Afghanistan, Belarus, Congo, Cuba, Iran, Indonesia, Japan, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, Singapore, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, the United States, Venezuela and Yemen. Several of these are markets where the brand previously drew regulatory attention.
The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
The case for Lirunex is stronger than most brokers we rate high risk, and it deserves stating plainly.
- The ten-year claim is true. Very few brokers survive this check. The Cyprus company was registered on 24 March 2016 and the main domain nine days earlier. The advertised history matches the documents rather than exceeding them.
- The Mauritius licence is a genuine dealing licence, not a shell registration. A SEC-2.1B full service dealer authorisation carries capital, audit and client-money obligations. Many offshore brokers hold nothing more than a company certificate; this one does not.
- Identity and ownership are unusually open. Every entity is named with its registration number and registered office, the addresses reconcile against the registers, and the Labuan register even names the principal officer. Opaque brokers do not do this.
- The scope limits are disclosed where it counts. The footer states in terms that the Dubai company does not provide investment advice, execute client transactions or manage client funds. That is the broker correcting its own strongest-looking badge.
- Most clients appear to be paid. Trustpilot shows 47 percent five-star across 158 reviews and the company replies to every negative review, typically within a week. One withdrawal fault was resolved after roughly twenty days once escalated. A broker that simply steals deposits does not accumulate that profile, and it does not staff a complaints desk.
- Profit voiding for arbitrage is not unique to Lirunex. Most retail brokers reserve the right to cancel trades made on stale prices, and some disputes will be genuine cases of latency abuse rather than theft. Our concern is that the clause is being applied at the withdrawal request rather than at the trade, and that the trader has no independent adjudicator, not that the clause exists.
- The Malaysian alert has been dealt with. The entry is gone and the country is excluded. That is what remediation looks like.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
Concrete things that would move this verdict in either direction.
- Towards lower risk: the Financial Commission or another independent adjudicator publishing decided cases in which Lirunex was ordered to pay and did pay a trader whose profits it had voided.
- Towards lower risk: the broker publishing the actual FSC Mauritius investment dealer licence number and a direct link to its register entry, instead of the Global Business Licence number GB24203882, which is a company-status number.
- Towards lower risk: the Saint Vincent business company number no longer being printed as a License No., and the UAE Category 5 permission being described on the Regulations page as advisory and introducing only, as the footer already does.
- Towards lower risk: a clear year with no new fund-integrity reports on Trustpilot or the forex forums, and a published, evidenced policy on how abnormal-trading determinations are made and appealed.
- Towards higher risk: any regulator adding lirunex.com or lirunex.online by name to a warning or alert list, which would change this from a conduct concern to a regulatory finding.
- Towards higher risk: a single credible report of Lirunex asking a client for a tax, fee or unlock payment before releasing funds. That is the advance-fee pattern and it would be decisive on its own.
- Towards higher risk: the FSC Mauritius entry changing to suspended, revoked or surrendered while the site keeps selling accounts, or a cluster of withdrawal freezes inside one short window.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is Lirunex a scam?
No, not in the sense of a fake broker. Lirunex holds licences we confirmed on four regulators' own registers, its companies and addresses check out, and most reviewers are paid. We still rate it high risk at 46 percent because the entity holding client money on the main site is offshore and because a specific pattern of voided profits and refused withdrawals recurs across review platforms.
Is Lirunex a fraud?
We found no evidence of fraud. No regulator has made a fraud finding against Lirunex, there is no enforcement action and no fraud-related court record naming any of its entities, and it is not on any warning list we searched. The concerns we do raise are about contract terms and which company holds your money, not criminal conduct.
Is Lirunex regulated?
Yes, but by different regulators depending on where you sign up. Lirunex Ltd in Cyprus holds CySEC licence 338/17 and covers lirunex.eu only. Clients of lirunex.com and lirunex.online deal with Lirunex Limited in Mauritius, which has held an FSC Mauritius investment dealer licence since 6 January 2025. There is also a Labuan money broker licence and a UAE advisory registration.
Which Lirunex company will actually hold my money?
If you register on lirunex.com or lirunex.online it is Lirunex Limited, registration 216574 GBC, in Mauritius. If you register on lirunex.eu it is Lirunex Limited, HE 353862, in Cyprus. Only the Cyprus firm sits inside the European regime with its investor compensation fund. Check the entity named in your client agreement.
Can I withdraw my money from Lirunex?
Most clients appear to withdraw normally, and the broker replies to every negative review. However, several traders across at least two independent platforms report profits being cancelled and withdrawals refused after the fact under the broker's Improper or Abusive Trading clause, with only their original deposit returned. Withdraw in small regular amounts rather than building a large balance.
Why were some traders' profits cancelled?
Lirunex invokes a contract clause covering what it calls abnormal or prohibited trading, citing things like trading on stale prices, latency arbitrage or high-frequency patterns. Reviewers say the determination was made when they asked to withdraw rather than when the trades were placed, and that they were given no evidence. Read that clause before depositing.
Is the UAE licence a trading licence?
No. The Capital Market Authority's own page for Lirunex Financial Services L.L.C states that its Category 5 licence does not authorise brokerage in derivatives, unregulated commodity contracts or spot foreign exchange. Its granted activities are Financial Consultations and Introduction. The broker's own footer confirms that entity does not execute transactions or hold client funds.
How old is Lirunex?
About ten years, and this is one of the claims that checks out. The Cyprus company was registered on 24 March 2016 and the lirunex.com domain on 15 March 2016. The CySEC licence dates from September 2017. The Mauritius company that serves global clients is much newer, licensed only in January 2025.
Is Lirunex a clone of another broker?
No. We ran the clone test on every licence. The entity names, registration numbers and registered addresses on the registers match what the broker publishes, and the Labuan register even lists a contact address on the lirunex.com domain. None of the licence numbers belongs to a different firm. Be aware that look-alike domains using the Lirunex name do circulate.
Was Lirunex ever warned by a regulator?
Yes, once. The Securities Commission Malaysia added Lirunex to its investor alert list in October 2023 for offering investment products to Malaysian residents without local authorisation. Lirunex is not on that list today and Malaysia now appears in the broker's own list of countries it will not serve.
Does Lirunex accept clients from Iran?
No. Lirunex's own regional restrictions state it does not provide services to residents of Iran, alongside Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Maldives, Russia, the United States and others. Opening an account from a restricted country puts you at risk of the account being closed when you try to withdraw, with very little recourse.
What is the Financial Commission and does it protect me?
It is a private dispute-resolution body, not a financial regulator. Lirunex advertises membership and compensation of up to 20,000 euros per eligible claim. It can be a genuinely useful route if a dispute arises, but it does not license anyone, it does not supervise capital or client-money handling, and membership is not a substitute for regulation.
Is my money segregated and insured at Lirunex?
It depends on the entity. Clients of the Cyprus firm fall under CySEC client-money rules and the Cypriot investor compensation fund. Clients of the Mauritius firm rely on the FSC Mauritius investment dealer regime, which imposes real obligations but offers no comparable statutory compensation scheme. Assume no deposit insurance on the global site.
What should I check before depositing with Lirunex?
Confirm which legal entity your agreement names, read the abnormal-trading clause, verify the licence yourself on the FSC Mauritius and CySEC registers, check that your country is not on the restricted list, and test the withdrawal process with a small amount before committing serious capital.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
Treat Lirunex as a real but offshore broker whose weak point is what happens to profitable accounts. If you use it, do so with your eyes open.
- Know which company you are signing with. On lirunex.com and lirunex.online your counterparty is the Mauritius entity. The Cyprus licence and its 20,000 euro compensation cover only lirunex.eu. If European protection is what you want, that is the only door to it, and you should confirm your account paperwork names the Cyprus firm.
- Read the abnormal-trading clause before you deposit, not after. This is the provision reviewers say was used to cancel their profits. Ask support in writing what execution behaviour it covers and get the answer on record.
- Size deposits to what you can afford to leave. Withdraw profits in small, regular amounts rather than accumulating a large balance, since the disputes we found cluster around the first large withdrawal request.
- Do not trade here if you are resident in a restricted country. Lirunex's own terms exclude residents of Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Maldives, Russia and the United States among others. Iranian readers in particular should note this: depositing from an excluded country puts the account at risk of closure at the point you try to take money out, and you would have little standing to complain.
- Check the exact domain. Look-alike sites trade on the Lirunex name. The group's own sites are lirunex.com, lirunex.online and lirunex.eu.
- Keep records. Save trade histories, deposit receipts and every support message. Complaints that carry ticket numbers, dates and amounts are the ones that get resolved, and they are also what an external complaints body will ask for.
- If funds are held: file a written complaint with the broker first, then escalate to the Financial Commission if you are a client of the covered entity, and to the FSC Mauritius for the Mauritius company. Never pay anyone who offers to recover your money for an upfront fee.
