Is Maxrich Group a scam?

High risk (unverified)MEDIUM confidence
Updated September 18, 2026
Unlicensed offshore broker operating on a lapsed licence

Maxrich Group is not a confirmed scam, and we found no evidence of fraud. But it is high risk: the only licence it has ever held expired on 20 November 2025, so it now accepts client deposits with no valid financial regulation anywhere.

  • Its Mwali (MISA) licence T2023410 ran from 20 November 2023 to 20 November 2025. The issuer's own verification record for the company shows that end date has passed.
  • The single website that licence covers, mrgforex.com, has itself expired and now resolves to a registrar page offering the domain at auction. The live site, mrg.ltd, was registered in December 2024 and is not the domain named on the licence.
  • Saint Lucia registration 2023-00526 is a company registration, not a trading licence. Saint Lucia does not license or supervise forex brokers.
  • The About page states that client funds sit in segregated accounts at 'Pireus Bank, Bulgaria'. That bank was absorbed into Postbank in November 2019 and has not operated under that name in Bulgaria since.
  • On the other side: no regulator warning list names this firm, the licence it held was genuine rather than fabricated or borrowed, and we found no credible first-hand report of money not being returned.

Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.

Worst area: Critical
SeverityLowModerateHighCritical

Regulation

9/10 · Critical

No valid licence today: the sole MISA authorisation expired on 20 November 2025 and the firm still takes deposits while linking to the registrar. Credit given that the licence was genuine and register-verified rather than fabricated or borrowed.

Identity & transparency

7/10 · High

Entity, registration number, address and phone are published, but no owners or officers are named, the address is a shared formation agent's, the incorporation is not publicly verifiable, and the two live sites contradict each other about which is official.

Withdrawals & conduct

3/10 · Low

No credible first-hand report of a refused withdrawal, frozen balance or advance-fee demand was found, and forum users describe fast payouts. Not lower because the footprint is thin and the published complaints route points to a dead domain.

Reputation

6/10 · High

No Trustpilot profile exists for any of its domains, leaving almost no verifiable client record, while independent broker-review sites uniformly flag it as unregulated and high risk. Older Indonesian forum feedback was positive.

Website claims

7/10 · High

States client funds sit at a Bulgarian bank that ceased to exist under that name in 2019, claims unattributed high ratings for financial strength, names an expired domain as its official site, and still presents regulator linkage after the licence lapsed.

Operational history

5/10 · Moderate

Real brand continuity since at least 2016, but the contracting company dates from 2023, the live domain from December 2024, both New Zealand predecessors are removed from the register, and the incorporation date could not be confirmed.

Who they are

A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.

  • Brand: Maxrich Group, also trading as MRG and MRG Traders Network
  • Legal entity: Maxrich Group LTD, registration number 2023-00526
  • Registered: Ground Floor, The Sotheby Building, Rodney Village, Rodney Bay, Gros-islet, Saint Lucia. This is a shared company-formation address in Rodney Bay used by several other offshore brokers, not a staffed dealing office.
  • Website: mrg.ltd is the live site. The operator also runs maxrichgroupltd.com, and its own About page still names mrgforex.com as the official site.
  • Only licence: Mwali International Services Authority (MISA), Comoros, number T2023410, issued 20 November 2023 and expired 20 November 2025. Company number on that record is HY01123440.
  • Offers: retail forex and CFDs on an STP model, four account tiers from a 50 dollar minimum deposit, leverage to 1:500, a Sharia swap-free account, and a monthly cashback rebate of up to 100 percent for deposits of 1,000 dollars and above.
  • Not accepted: United States residents.
  • Age claim: the site makes no explicit founding-year claim, though it carries promotional and news posts dated 2016 and 2020 from its older website. Third-party Indonesian coverage describes a 2009 New Zealand origin.

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

We rate this high risk rather than a scam. The regulatory position has lapsed and several published statements are wrong, but nothing we found shows client money being taken and not returned.

  • The licence has expired. The Mwali registrar's verification record for Maxrich Group LTD gives an issue date of 20 November 2023 and a licence end date of 20 November 2025. The summary line on the register's brokerage list still reads Active, but the entity's own certificate carries the end date, and it has passed. The site continues to link to the Mwali registrar from its footer, which presents regulatory cover the firm no longer holds.
  • The licensed website is gone. That licence names one website, mrgforex.com. That domain has expired and now serves a registrar page stating it may be available at auction. The site actually taking deposits, mrg.ltd, was registered on 4 December 2024 and appears nowhere on the licence. The About page also routes complaints to a report-a-problem page on the dead domain, so the firm's own published escalation route does not work.
  • Nothing else regulates this firm. Saint Lucia registration 2023-00526 confers company status only. The Saint Lucia authorities neither license nor supervise forex trading. MISA itself is an island registrar rather than a functioning supervisor, and the Comoros central bank has stated publicly that approvals issued by island bodies carry no legal effect for financial activity. Even when in force, that licence protected nobody.
  • A checkable claim about client money is false. The About page says client funds are held in segregated accounts at 'Pireus Bank, Bulgaria'. Piraeus Bank Bulgaria was acquired by Postbank in June 2019, legally merged that November, and the brand was retired. A firm that cannot correctly name the bank holding client funds has either not reviewed that page in seven years or is describing an arrangement that no longer exists.
  • The corporate trail runs backwards, not forwards. New Zealand's companies register holds two matching entities, both removed: Maxrich Group Limited, incorporated 1 April 2015, classified under stockbroking or trading and with a Jakarta-resident director, and Maxrich New Zealand (Foreign Exchange) Limited, incorporated 3 July 2009. The business that once had a New Zealand footing now contracts through a Saint Lucia company formed in 2023.
  • It contradicts itself about its own identity. The footer on mrg.ltd states that Maxrich Group only uses mrg.ltd, while the footer on maxrichgroupltd.com states it only uses maxrichgroupltd.com. Each site therefore implies the other is not genuine. This is why several review sites have labelled the firm an imposter of itself, an accusation we do not accept, but the confusion is entirely of the operator's own making.
  • What we did not find matters too. No regulator warning list names this brand or its domains. No first-hand account describes a refused withdrawal, a frozen balance or a demand for a payment before release. That absence is why this is not a scam verdict.
  • One limit on the figures. Saint Lucia's register of international business companies publishes no working public search, so the incorporation date behind registration 2023-00526 could not be established. The operating age shown here therefore rests on the domain record alone and should be read as an upper bound: the oldest domain dates to 2014, but it sat parked that year, carried unrelated corporate content in 2018, and only became this brokerage's site in 2024.

  • E1The Mwali registrar's verification record for Maxrich Group LTD, company number HY01123440, gives licence T2023410 an issue date of 20 November 2023 and a licence end date of 20 November 2025. That date has passed while the firm continues to accept deposits.

StrongMwali International Services Authority, licence verification record
  • E2The authority's list of authorised brokerage companies carries Maxrich Group LTD at entry 125 with licence T2023410 issued 20/11/2023, a status column reading Active, and the covered website given as mrgforex.com. The summary status conflicts with the end date on the entity's own certificate.

ModerateMwali International Services Authority, authorised brokerage companies list
  • E3mrgforex.com, the only website covered by the licence, has expired and now serves a registrar page stating the domain may be for sale and may be available at auction. No brokerage content remains there.

    Strongmrgforex.com, live page
  • E4The live broker site accepts deposits from a 50 dollar minimum with leverage to 1:500, runs a monthly cashback promotion, and links to the Mwali registrar from its footer, presenting regulatory standing the firm no longer holds. Registered address is given as The Sotheby Building, Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.

    Moderatemrg.ltd home page
  • E5The About page states that client funds are kept in segregated bank accounts at Pireus Bank, Bulgaria. That bank was acquired by Postbank in June 2019 and legally merged that November, after which the name ceased to be used in Bulgaria, so the firm's description of where client money is held has been wrong for around seven years.

    StrongMaxrich Group LTD, About page
  • E6The same About page gives company registration 2023-00526, a Saint Lucia address and phone, names mrgforex.com as the company website, and routes problem reports to a page on that expired domain. Saint Lucia registration confers company status only and is not a trading licence.

    ModerateMaxrich Group LTD, About page
  • E7maxrichgroupltd.com serves the same brokerage site and the same Saint Lucia address, but its footer declares that Maxrich Group only uses maxrichgroupltd.com, directly contradicting the mrg.ltd footer which declares mrg.ltd the only genuine site. The two sites are one operation sharing registrar, nameservers and page assets.

  • E8New Zealand's companies register records Maxrich Group Limited, number 5660408, incorporated 1 April 2015, status Removed, classified under stockbroking or trading, with directors resident in Jakarta and New Zealand. The brand's New Zealand corporate presence has ended.

    ModerateNew Zealand Companies Register
  • E9New Zealand's companies register also records Maxrich New Zealand (Foreign Exchange) Limited, number 2277106, incorporated 3 July 2009 and likewise Removed. This is the entity behind third-party descriptions of a 2009 New Zealand founding.

  • E10Indonesian forum discussion of the broker from 2017 and 2018 describes local bank deposits clearing in about fifteen minutes and withdrawals in about an hour, with a poster citing consistently good feedback across years. A later reply urges caution with unregulated brokers generally but reports no loss.

    ModerateKaskus trader forum thread
  • E11The licence is held in the broker's own exact legal name with its own company number, so the firm is not wearing another company's credentials and is not a clone, despite third-party sites describing it as an imposter on the basis of the domain mismatch between its own two websites.

ModerateMwali International Services Authority, licence verification record
mrgforex.com, the only website named on the Mwali licence, now showing a registrar notice that the domain has expired and may be available at auction.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

The case for taking a milder view is real and we want it on the record.

  • The licence was genuine. Maxrich Group did not invent a number or wear another company's credentials. We found the entity on the issuer's own register under its exact legal name, with a company number, an issue date and a defined term. That is a materially better position than the fabricated badges common in this segment.
  • This is not a clone, and the accusations that it is are wrong. Several review sites call the operation an imposter because the licence names one domain while another is in use. Both domains belong to the same operator: mrg.ltd serves its page assets from the maxrichgroupltd.com installation, both sit on the same nameservers and the same registrar, and the live site links to news articles hosted on the other. Untangling that matters, because publishing a clone finding here would be false.
  • Users have reported being paid. Indonesian forum discussion of the broker describes local bank deposits clearing in about fifteen minutes and withdrawals in about an hour, with a poster noting consistently good feedback over several years. No one in the material we reviewed says they lost access to their balance.
  • An expired offshore licence is not theft. Hundreds of legitimate brokers hold only offshore paper, and letting a near-worthless registration lapse may reflect a judgement that it was not worth renewing rather than an intent to deceive. The Mwali licence conferred almost no protection while it was live, so its expiry changes less for clients than it first appears.
  • The brand has genuine history. This is not a site that appeared last month. The operation traces back through a New Zealand company incorporated in 2015 and carries promotional material from 2016 onward.
  • No regulator has acted. We checked the international warning lists and found no entry naming this firm or its domains. We also could not substantiate a third-party claim that Indonesian authorities had blocked it, so we have not treated that as a finding.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

Concrete things that would move this verdict in either direction.

  • Towards lower risk: the Mwali registrar showing a renewed licence for Maxrich Group LTD with a current end date, naming mrg.ltd as the covered website.
  • Towards lower risk: a licence from a regulator that actually supervises, such as the Seychelles FSA, the Vanuatu VFSC or better, verifiable on that regulator's own register against this legal entity.
  • Towards lower risk: the About page corrected to name the bank that genuinely holds segregated client funds, with a statement that can be checked.
  • Towards lower risk: a public Saint Lucia registry entry confirming the incorporation date and the officers behind registration 2023-00526.
  • Towards higher risk: any entry on a regulator warning list naming Maxrich Group, mrg.ltd or maxrichgroupltd.com.
  • Towards higher risk: credible first-hand reports, with dates and amounts, of withdrawals refused or balances removed, particularly clustered after November 2025.
  • Towards much higher risk: any demand that a client pay a tax, fee or verification charge before funds are released. One properly evidenced instance of that would change this report substantially.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

14 questions
Is Maxrich Group a scam?

We did not find enough to call it a scam. We rate it high risk at 66 percent. The decisive point is that its only licence expired on 20 November 2025, so it now takes deposits with no valid regulation. We found no regulator warning against it and no credible first-hand report of money being withheld.

Is Maxrich Group a fraud?

No court or regulator has found this firm to have committed fraud, and we did not find evidence of fraud. There is no enforcement action, no warning-list entry and no fraud-related court record naming Maxrich Group LTD. What we did find is an expired licence and some published statements that are no longer true.

Is Maxrich Group regulated?

Not any longer. It held licence T2023410 from the Mwali International Services Authority in the Comoros, issued 20 November 2023 and expired 20 November 2025. No other financial regulator licenses it. Its Saint Lucia registration is a company registration, not a trading licence.

What is a MISA licence worth?

Very little. MISA is the registrar of the autonomous island of Mwali, not a functioning financial supervisor. The Comoros central bank has stated that approvals issued by island bodies have no legal effect for financial activity. Even while the licence was valid it carried no compensation scheme and no meaningful oversight.

Can I withdraw my money from Maxrich Group?

Users have historically reported withdrawals being processed quickly, within about an hour by local bank transfer in Indonesia. We found no reports of refused withdrawals. That said, with no regulator supervising the firm there is no authority to enforce payment if that changes, so withdraw in stages and verify each one.

Is my money safe with Maxrich Group?

There is no deposit protection, no compensation scheme and no ombudsman. The About page says client funds are held at Pireus Bank in Bulgaria, but that bank was absorbed into Postbank in November 2019 and no longer operates under that name, so the firm's own description of where your money sits is out of date.

Who owns Maxrich Group?

The operator does not publish its owners or directors. The contracting entity is Maxrich Group LTD, registration 2023-00526, at a shared company-formation address in Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia. A now-removed New Zealand company of the same name listed a Jakarta-resident director and a New Zealand co-director.

How old is Maxrich Group?

The brand goes back years, but the current setup is recent. Its oldest domain was registered in 2014, though it was parked then and carried unrelated corporate content as late as 2018. The live site mrg.ltd dates from December 2024, and the Saint Lucia company and Mwali licence both date from 2023.

Is Maxrich Group a clone of another broker?

No. Some review sites call it an imposter because its licence names one domain while another is in use, but both domains belong to the same operator. They share nameservers and registrar, and one site serves the other's page assets. This is an untidy setup, not impersonation of a different company.

Why do mrg.ltd and maxrichgroupltd.com both claim to be the only official site?

That is a genuine contradiction and it is the operator's own doing. The footer on mrg.ltd says Maxrich Group only uses mrg.ltd, while maxrichgroupltd.com says it only uses maxrichgroupltd.com. Both are run by the same business. It makes the firm's anti-impersonation warning impossible to follow.

What happened to mrgforex.com?

It has expired. The domain now resolves to a registrar page saying it may be available at auction. This matters because mrgforex.com is the one website named on the Mwali licence, and the broker's About page still points clients there, including its report-a-problem link.

Is Maxrich Group legal in Indonesia?

It is not licensed by Bappebti, the Indonesian futures regulator, so it cannot lawfully solicit Indonesian retail clients. We saw a third-party claim that its domains had been blocked, but we could not substantiate that at source and have not treated it as established.

What should I check before depositing with any offshore broker?

Find the licence number, open the regulator's own register, and read the status and the expiry date rather than a summary badge. Check that the website you are depositing on is the one named on the licence. Then look for first-hand withdrawal reports with dates and amounts.

What do I do if I have lost money with this broker?

Gather your statements, receipts and correspondence, then report it to your national financial regulator and to your bank or card issuer as soon as possible. Do not pay anyone who offers to recover your funds for an upfront fee, as that is a common follow-up scam.

What we recommend

The practical takeaway from everything above.

Our advice

If you are considering this broker, or already hold an account with it, treat the lapsed licence as the governing fact.

  • Do not send new money until a current, verifiable licence exists. At present no regulator anywhere supervises this firm or has any duty to help you.
  • If you hold a balance, withdraw it in stages and confirm each payment clears before relying on the next. Keep every ticket, receipt and chat log.
  • Never pay a fee to release a withdrawal. No legitimate broker requires a tax, unlocking charge or verification payment before returning your own funds.
  • Check the licence yourself on the Mwali registrar's verification page linked below, and read the licence end date rather than the summary status line.
  • Understand what recourse you have. A Saint Lucia company registration gives you no financial ombudsman, no compensation scheme and no deposit protection. Recovery would be a private legal matter in Saint Lucia.
  • If you have already lost money, report it to your national financial regulator and to your bank or card issuer immediately, and ignore any firm that offers to recover it for an upfront fee.

This is an independent assessment of risk, not a legal ruling. Scores and verdicts follow the Wikilix broker-safety methodology and can change as new evidence appears.
