Is MEX CFD a scam?

Confirmed scamHIGH confidenceClone of MEX Europe Ltd (MultiBank Group)
Updated September 11, 2026
Clone / licence impersonation

Yes. MEX CFD (mexcfd.com) is a scam. It is a clone that borrows the CySEC licence number and the registered address of a genuine, unrelated firm, and Italy's market regulator has ordered the site blocked. We found no evidence it holds any licence of its own, and no evidence it is connected to the real licensed company.

  • The site trades as 'MexCfd Ltd' and advertises 'License number Cysec: 430/23'. That licence belongs to MEX Europe Ltd, a MultiBank Group company at mexeurope.com, not to mexcfd.com.
  • It copies MEX Europe Ltd's Limassol address (Feidiou 1, Flat 2, 3075 Limassol) word for word.
  • No company called MexCfd Ltd exists on the Cyprus company register.
  • CONSOB, Italy's regulator, ordered mexcfd.com and client.mexcfd.com blocked on 28 January 2026 as an unauthorised operator.
  • The domain was registered in October 2024 and the live site now serves a broken security certificate.

Risk scorecard

Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.

Worst area: Critical
SeverityLowModerateHighCritical

Regulation

10/10 · Critical

Holds no licence of its own; advertises CySEC 430/23, which the register shows belongs to MEX Europe Ltd, and CONSOB has ordered the site blocked.

Identity & transparency

10/10 · Critical

Fabricated entity 'MexCfd Ltd' (absent from the Cyprus register), copied Limassol address of MEX Europe Ltd, and an anonymous Cloudflare-fronted domain.

Withdrawals & conduct

4/10 · Moderate

No fund-integrity complaints were located for this specific domain (a young clone with almost no footprint), so this is not the basis of the verdict; deposit risk remains high for an unauthorised operator.

Reputation

7/10 · High

Under a CONSOB block order and flagged on Trustpilot for regulatory attention; no genuine client footprint and no positive reviews.

Website claims

10/10 · Critical

Falsely presents itself as an authorised CySEC firm by using another company's licence number and registered address.

Operational history

9/10 · Critical

Domain registered October 2024 (about 11 months); the operating company does not exist, so there is no verifiable track record.

Who they are

A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.

  • Brand: MEX CFD (mexcfd.com)
  • Legal entity: 'MexCfd Ltd' (claimed on the site; no such company on the Cyprus register)
  • Registered: Feidiou 1, Flat 2, 3075 Limassol, Cyprus (the real address of MEX Europe Ltd, copied)
  • Website: mexcfd.com, with client.mexcfd.com and webtrader.mexcfd.com
  • Only licence claim: 'CySEC 430/23', which on the register belongs to MEX Europe Ltd at mexeurope.com
  • Offers: forex and CFDs, an Interactive-Brokers-style desktop platform, asset management and savings plans
  • Not accepted: residents of China, Singapore, the United States and jurisdictions on the FATF and EU/UN sanctions lists
  • Age claim: presents as an established European broker, but the domain dates only to October 2024 (about 11 months)
mexcfd.com's own homepage and footer: 'MexCfd Ltd ... regulated by License number Cysec: 430/23', alongside the copied Limassol address of MEX Europe Ltd.
Company registry entry for MexCfd Ltd (claimed on the site; no such company on the Cyprus register)

A genuine CySEC Cyprus Investment Firm licence that belongs to MEX Europe Ltd, a MultiBank Group subsidiary operating mexeurope.com. mexcfd.com has copied the number and the licensee's Limassol address; it is not the licence holder.
Protection: None for anyone using mexcfd.com. The real licence carries Investor Compensation Fund cover of up to EUR 20,000, but only for MEX Europe Ltd's clients.Official register
CySEC register entry: Cyprus Investment Firm licence 430/23 is held by MEX Europe Ltd, approved website mexeurope.com, at Feidiou 1, Flat 2, Limassol. mexcfd.com is not this firm.

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

Three findings settle this, and each can be checked at the source.

  • The licence is someone else's. The CySEC register shows licence 430/23 is held by MEX Europe Ltd, whose only approved website is mexeurope.com. mexcfd.com is a separate site quoting that same number.
  • The identity is copied. mexcfd.com reproduces MEX Europe Ltd's exact Limassol address, yet 'MexCfd Ltd' does not appear on the Cyprus company register at all.
  • A regulator has acted. CONSOB ordered mexcfd.com and client.mexcfd.com blocked on 28 January 2026 as an unauthorised operator. A genuine CySEC firm does not appear on a regulator's block list.
  • The operation is new and anonymous. The domain is about 11 months old, sits behind privacy protection and Cloudflare, and its live pages present a certificate issued for a different name.
  • We assess the risk of fraud as high: an unregistered, anonymous site is soliciting deposits under a licensed firm's number and address.

  • E1The CySEC register records Cyprus Investment Firm licence 430/23 as held by MEX Europe Ltd (registration 424840), approved website www.mexeurope.com, registered address Feidiou 1, Flat 2, 3075 Limassol. This is the number and address mexcfd.com displays as its own.

  • E2mexcfd.com's own homepage and footer state 'MexCfd Ltd, a Financial Services Company authorized and regulated by License number Cysec: 430/23' and give the address 'Feidiou 1, Appartamento 2, 3075 Limassol, Cipro', the copied address of MEX Europe Ltd. Copyright reads 2024.

  • E3CONSOB order 23847 of 28 January 2026 blocked mexcfd.com and client.mexcfd.com as an abusive, unauthorised financial intermediary operating toward Italian residents.

    Hard proofCONSOB (Italian securities regulator)
  • E4A search of the Cyprus company register for MexCfd and MEX CFD returns no results, so the entity named in the site footer does not exist as a registered Cypriot company.

StrongCyprus Department of Registrar of Companies (DRCOR)
  • E5Domain registration data shows mexcfd.com was created on 11 October 2024, behind a privacy proxy on Cloudflare nameservers, about 17 months after MEX Europe Ltd obtained licence 430/23. This contradicts any impression of an established broker.

    StrongVerisign RDAP (.com registry)
  • E6The live mexcfd.com presents an expired TLS certificate whose common name does not match the domain, which is not consistent with a supervised investment firm.

    Moderatemexcfd.com (live)
  • E7Trustpilot holds no reviews for mexcfd.com and displays a notice that the company has received regulatory attention. There is no genuine client footprint for this specific domain.

    WeakTrustpilot
  • E8MultiBank Group's MEX-branded entities operate mexeurope.com (CySEC), mex.ae (SCA), mexglobalmarkets.com (MAS) and similar domains; the genuine MEX Europe regulations page lists only these and never mentions mexcfd.com, refuting any group-linkage explanation for the clone.

The genuine MEX Europe Ltd site (mexeurope.com) showing CySEC licence 430/23, the licence that mexcfd.com copies. The two are unconnected.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

We looked for an innocent explanation before reaching this verdict.

  • A regional site of MultiBank or MEX Europe? No. The group's MEX entities use mexeurope.com, mex.ae and mexglobalmarkets.com; CySEC lists only mexeurope.com for licence 430/23, and MEX Europe's own site never mentions mexcfd.com.
  • A brand-new licence not yet listed? No. Licence 430/23 was granted in May 2023 and is already on the register under MEX Europe Ltd.
  • A coincidence of names? No. The site reproduces the real firm's exact licence number and registered address, which is deliberate, not accidental.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

We would revisit this only if:

  • CySEC listed mexcfd.com as an approved website of MEX Europe Ltd (it does not).
  • MEX Europe Ltd or MultiBank Group publicly confirmed mexcfd.com as its own site.
  • CONSOB lifted its block order and a regulator confirmed the operator holds a licence in its own name.

None of these is the case at the time of writing.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

12 questions
Is MEX CFD (mexcfd.com) a scam?

Yes. It presents itself as a CySEC-regulated broker using licence number 430/23, but that licence belongs to a different company, MEX Europe Ltd. Italy's regulator CONSOB has ordered the site blocked as an unauthorised operator. We rate it a clone scam.

Is MEX CFD regulated by CySEC?

No. The number it shows, 430/23, is on the CySEC register under MEX Europe Ltd, whose only approved website is mexeurope.com. mexcfd.com is not authorised by CySEC and is not the licence holder.

Is MEX CFD a fraud?

We assess the risk of fraud as high. The site takes deposits while impersonating a licensed firm's number and address, and CONSOB has ordered it blocked as an unauthorised operator. Regulators, not us, decide the criminal label, but the conduct is that of a clone.

Can I withdraw my money from MEX CFD?

Treat any deposit as at serious risk. This is an unregistered operator hiding its identity, with no regulated status of its own. If you are asked to pay a tax or fee to unlock a withdrawal, that is a classic advance-fee trap; do not pay it.

Is my money safe with MEX CFD?

No. There is no investor-compensation cover for clients of mexcfd.com, because it is not the licensed firm it pretends to be. Only genuine MEX Europe Ltd clients at mexeurope.com are covered by the CySEC scheme.

Who owns MEX CFD?

It is not disclosed. The domain sits behind privacy protection and Cloudflare, and the entity it names, MexCfd Ltd, does not exist on the Cyprus register. The real operator cannot be identified from the site.

Is MEX CFD the same as MEX Europe or MultiBank Group?

No. It copies MEX Europe Ltd's CySEC licence number and Limassol address, but MEX Europe and MultiBank Group operate mexeurope.com and related domains and have no link to mexcfd.com.

What is CySEC licence 430/23 and who holds it?

It is a Cyprus Investment Firm licence granted on 22 May 2023 to MEX Europe Ltd, registration number 424840, a MultiBank Group subsidiary. Its only CySEC-approved website is mexeurope.com.

How old is MEX CFD?

The mexcfd.com domain was registered in October 2024, making it roughly 11 months old at the time of writing. It has no verifiable operating history and the company behind it does not exist on any register.

Why did CONSOB block mexcfd.com?

On 28 January 2026 (order 23847), CONSOB ordered mexcfd.com and client.mexcfd.com blocked for offering financial services to Italian residents without authorisation. Italian internet providers must block access to the site.

I was scammed by MEX CFD, what should I do?

Stop sending money immediately, including any requested tax or unlock fees. Contact your bank or card provider about a chargeback, gather your records, and report the site to CySEC and CONSOB. Ignore anyone who contacts you offering paid fund recovery, as that is often a follow-up scam.

How can I check a broker like this myself before depositing?

Look up the licence number on the regulator's own register and confirm the website listed there matches the site you are on. Here, 430/23 resolves to MEX Europe Ltd at mexeurope.com, not mexcfd.com. Also check regulator warning and block lists such as CONSOB's.

What we recommend

Our advice

Treat mexcfd.com as unsafe and do not fund an account.

  • Do not deposit, and do not share ID documents or card details.
  • If you have already deposited, contact your bank or card provider about a chargeback, and do not pay any further 'tax', 'fee' or 'insurance' asked for to release funds.
  • Check any 'CySEC 430/23' claim on the CySEC register, where the licence shows as MEX Europe Ltd at mexeurope.com.
  • Report the site to CySEC and to CONSOB, which has already blocked it. Be wary of anyone who later offers to recover your funds for an upfront fee.
