Why we reached this verdict
How the evidence adds up.
Two independent regulator records settle this, and both were read at the source.
- The licence is someone else's. The CySEC register shows licence 430/23 held by MEX Europe Ltd, company number 424840, licensed on 22 May 2023, with one approved website: www.mexeurope.com. The suspect site called itself MexCfd Ltd and claimed the same number. Under CySEC's approved-domain rule, mexcfd.com is not covered by that licence.
- The address is someone else's too. CySEC records MEX Europe at Feidiou 1, Flat 2, 3075 Limassol. The suspect site published the identical address rendered as Feidiou 1, Appartamento 2, 3075 Limassol, Cipro.
- The company does not exist. The Cyprus Registrar of Companies, updated 10 September 2026, returns nothing for MEXCFD or MEX CFD. The same search returns MEX EUROPE LTD, HE 424840, active, which confirms the register works and the absence is real.
- A regulator has already acted. CONSOB ordered mexcfd.com and client.mexcfd.com blocked under resolution 23848 of 4 February 2026 for offering investment services to the Italian public without authorisation. CONSOB recorded that the site was in Italian, was registered anonymously, had no barrier to signups from Italian IP addresses, and that Italian investors reported losses.
- The content is not its own. The homepage sold a Trader Workstation platform, SmartRouting execution and a Stock Yield Enhancement Program, which are Interactive Brokers products, alongside an audience menu copied from that firm.
- It contradicts itself. The footer said it does not serve residents of China, Singapore or the United States. The registration form offers every one of them, with no exclusions at all.
The operation is also new: the domain dates from 11 October 2024, and no operating company could be dated because none exists, so the track record is under two years and rests on the domain alone.
Evidence ledger
Every finding, with its source and how strongly it points.
E1The CySEC register records licence 430/23 as held by MEX Europe Ltd, company number 424840, licensed 22 May 2023, at Feidiou 1, Flat 2, 3075 Limassol, with a single approved website, www.mexeurope.com. The suspect site claimed the same licence number for MexCfd Ltd on the unapproved domain mexcfd.com.
E2CONSOB ordered Italian access to mexcfd.com and client.mexcfd.com blocked under resolution 23848 of 4 February 2026, finding investment services were offered to the Italian public without authorisation, that the site was in Italian and anonymously registered, that nothing prevented signups from Italian IP addresses, and that Italian investors reported losses.
E3The Cyprus Registrar of Companies returns no results for MEXCFD. The register was current to 10 September 2026, so the claimed operating company MexCfd Ltd does not exist in the jurisdiction the site said it was based in.
E4A search of the same register for MEX returns ten companies including MEX EUROPE LTD, HE 424840, active, matching the CySEC licence holder. This confirms the register is functional and that the absence of any MexCfd company is a real finding rather than a search failure.
E5The archived homepage states, twice in the hero banner and again in the footer, License number Cysec: 430/23, and declares MexCfd Ltd, a Financial Services Company authorized and regulated by License number Cysec: 430/23. It gives the address as Feidiou 1, Appartamento 2, 3075 Limassol, Cipro, which is MEX Europe's registered address rendered into Italian.
E6MEX Europe Ltd publishes its own regulatory page naming licence 430/23 and the address Feidiou 1, Flat 2, 3075 Limassol. It lists no other group website and makes no reference to mexcfd.com, so no group relationship supports the claim.
E7The client portal at client.mexcfd.com is live and serving a working login page more than seven months after the Italian blocking order, under a 2026 copyright notice, with no legal entity, regulator or address shown anywhere on it.
StrongMEX CFD client portalE8The registration form is open and offers every country in its dropdown, including the United States, China and Singapore, which the site's own footer named as excluded jurisdictions. It requires a phone number and carries a referral ID field, and its terms link does not resolve.
E9The public website mexcfd.com no longer serves any content and returns a blank hosting placeholder, so the about, terms, privacy and contact pages are all unreachable while the deposit portal continues to operate.
ModerateMEX CFD main websiteE10The domain mexcfd.com was registered on 11 October 2024 through Hosting Concepts B.V. and sits behind Cloudflare nameservers. That is roughly seventeen months after the May 2023 licence it claimed, and makes the operation under two years old.
E11Trustpilot holds no reviews at all for mexcfd.com and marks the profile as having received regulatory attention. There is no organic customer footprint in either direction for an operation that described itself as a premier European destination for traders.
E12The homepage marketed a Trader Workstation platform, SmartRouting execution software, a Stock Yield Enhancement Program and an audience menu covering registered investment advisors, proprietary trading groups, hedge funds and fund administrators. These are Interactive Brokers products and site structure, reproduced with spelling errors such as Regiser and All Platfroms.
The other side
The strongest case in this broker’s favour.
We looked hard for an innocent explanation, because MEX is a real and respectable brand and a wrong call here would damage a legitimate firm.
- Could it be a regional arm of the MEX or MultiBank group? No. CySEC lists exactly one approved domain for licence 430/23, and it is www.mexeurope.com. MEX Europe's own regulatory page names no other site and does not mention mexcfd.com.
- Could the register simply be out of date? No. The Cyprus company register was current to 10 September 2026 and still shows no such company, and the CySEC entry remains active in MEX Europe's name.
- Could this be a name collision rather than impersonation? That argument fails on the numbers. Copying a brand word might be coincidence. Copying the same licence number and the same registered street address is not.
- Is the evidence against it just angry customers? No, and this cuts in the broker's favour on one narrow point: we found no complaint pattern on public review platforms. Trustpilot holds no reviews for this domain at all. The case rests on registers and a regulator's order, not on reviews.
- Is the dead website proof of anything? On its own, no. Businesses close. What matters is that the deposit portal is still open while the pages carrying the terms, the risk warnings and the company details are not.
None of these survived contact with the primary records.
What would change this
What we would need to see to revise the verdict.
We would revisit this assessment if any of the following turned out to be true.
- CySEC adds mexcfd.com to the approved domains for licence 430/23, or MEX Europe Ltd states that it operates the site.
- The Cyprus Registrar of Companies shows a real company behind the brand, incorporated and in good standing, matching the entity the site named.
- CONSOB lifts resolution 23848 and removes both domains from its list of blocked sites.
- The operator produces a licence of its own, in its own name, from any regulator, that resolves on that regulator's register.
- Documented evidence emerges that clients who deposited were paid out in full.
Short of that, the register entries speak for themselves.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about this broker’s safety.
Is MEX CFD a scam?
We assess it as one. The CySEC licence it advertised, number 430/23, is registered to MEX Europe Ltd, a different company. The entity it named as itself, MexCfd Ltd, does not appear on the Cyprus company register. In February 2026 the Italian regulator CONSOB ordered its two websites blocked for offering investment services without authorisation.
Is MEX CFD a fraud?
We do not state that as a legal finding, because that is for a court. What we can state is what the records show: CONSOB found that investment services were offered to Italian investors without authorisation and recorded that those investors reported losses, and the licence number displayed belongs to another firm. On that basis we assess the risk of fraud as high.
Is MEX CFD regulated?
No. It holds no licence of its own from any regulator we could identify. The CySEC number it displayed belongs to MEX Europe Ltd. CySEC records only www.mexeurope.com as an approved website for that licence, so mexcfd.com was never covered by it.
Is MEX CFD the same company as MEX Europe or MultiBank?
No, and this matters. MEX Europe Ltd is a genuine Cyprus investment firm, company number 424840, part of MultiBank Group, and it trades at mexeurope.com. MEX CFD copied its licence number and its registered address. The two are not connected.
Can I withdraw my money from MEX CFD?
We cannot promise you can. CONSOB recorded that Italian investors reported losses on the site. There is no licensed entity behind the brand, so there is no regulator that can compel a payout and no compensation scheme to fall back on. Approach your bank or card issuer about a chargeback rather than waiting.
Is my money safe with MEX CFD?
No. Client money protections such as segregated accounts and investor compensation only exist where a firm is licensed. This operation is not, so none of those protections apply to funds sent to it.
Who owns MEX CFD?
Nobody is disclosed. The site named MexCfd Ltd, which is not on the Cyprus register, and it published another company's address. CONSOB noted the domain was registered anonymously. No directors, shareholders or officers are identified anywhere.
How old is MEX CFD?
The domain mexcfd.com was registered on 11 October 2024, making the operation under two years old. No operating company could be dated because none was found, so that figure rests on the domain alone and is an upper bound.
What is CySEC licence 430/23 actually worth here?
To this operation, nothing. It is a real Cyprus Investment Firm licence, a tier 2 European authorisation, but it was granted to MEX Europe Ltd on 22 May 2023. Quoting a licence number does not transfer any of its protections to whoever quotes it.
Is MEX CFD a clone firm?
Yes. A clone copies a licensed firm's credentials to look authorised. This site reproduced MEX Europe's licence number and registered address, and borrowed the MEX brand word, while operating from a domain the regulator never approved.
Why does the MEX CFD website not load?
mexcfd.com stopped serving its pages and now returns a blank hosting placeholder, so the terms, risk warnings and company information are all unreachable. The login and registration portal at client.mexcfd.com is still running and still accepting new signups.
What should I do if I already deposited with MEX CFD?
Contact your bank or card provider straight away and ask about a chargeback, citing the CONSOB blocking order. Report it to your national financial regulator. Do not pay any fee, tax or insurance charge demanded before a withdrawal, and be wary of anyone who contacts you offering to recover the money.
What we recommend
The practical takeaway from everything above.
Do not deposit, and do not send identity documents.
- If you have not paid anything, stop here. There is no licensed firm behind this brand to complain to and no compensation scheme covering it.
- If you have deposited, contact your bank or card issuer immediately and ask about a chargeback. Say the merchant was operating without authorisation and name the CONSOB order.
- Report it. Italian residents should contact CONSOB. Others should report to their own national regulator, since the operator solicited across borders.
- Refuse any request for a further payment. Nobody legitimate asks for a tax, a fee or an insurance payment before releasing your own money.
- Ignore recovery offers. People who lost money to a blocked site are routinely approached a second time by fake recovery agents.
- Check the real firm before you confuse the two. MEX Europe Ltd at mexeurope.com is a separate, genuinely licensed company and is not connected to this operation.
