Is NBI INVESTMENTS a scam?

Confirmed scamHIGH confidenceClone of NBI Investments Ltd (Cyprus, CySEC CIF licence 162/12, nbinvest.com)
Updated September 11, 2026
Clone / impersonation of a regulated firm

Yes. NBI Markets is a scam. It is a clone that copied the identity of a genuine regulated firm, and we assess the risk of fraud as high.

  • It traded as NBI Investments Limited and displayed the Limassol address and Italian registration number of the real, CySEC-licensed NBI Investments Ltd (nbinvest.com), a different company.
  • Cyprus's regulator, CySEC, publicly named nbimarkets.net as a website that does not belong to a firm on its register.
  • Italy's regulator, CONSOB, warned in December 2022 that NBI Markets was not authorized to provide investment services in Italy.
  • The homepage claimed authorization by the FCA, ASIC and FSCA. None of these authorizations exist.
  • The websites nbimarkets.net and nbimarkets.com no longer work. The domains have been dropped and the operation has disappeared.

Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.

Worst area: Critical
SeverityLowModerateHighCritical

Regulation

10/10 · Critical

No licence of its own; it displayed another firm's CySEC and CONSOB credentials, fabricated FCA, ASIC and FSCA claims, and is named on a CySEC warning list.

Identity & transparency

10/10 · Critical

Copied the genuine NBI Investments Limited's name, Limassol address and Italian registration number; the real operators are undisclosed and the domains are now deleted.

Withdrawals & conduct

4/10 · Moderate

The operation took deposits and then vanished, and review sites report withdrawal denials and delays; specific amounts, dates and tickets are not independently verified.

Reputation

7/10 · High

Two regulator warnings and consistent unregulated or scam classifications across independent review sites; the first-person footprint is thin because the site is defunct.

Website claims

9/10 · Critical

The homepage falsely claimed FCA, ASIC and FSCA authorization and presented another company's regulatory identity as its own.

Operational history

7/10 · High

A short-lived operation launched around late 2022 and now defunct, with no genuine operating history of its own.

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

We reached a scam verdict on primary evidence from two regulators and from the operation's own homepage.

  • CySEC, the Cyprus regulator, listed nbimarkets.net in a public warning of websites that do not belong to entities on its register.
  • The genuine NBI Investments Limited holds CySEC CIF licence 162/12 and operates at nbinvest.com. This operation used that firm's name, Limassol address and Italian registration number 3537, none of which belong to it.
  • The homepage stated the broker was authorized by the FCA, ASIC and FSCA. There is no matching authorization on any of those registers.
  • CONSOB, the Italian regulator, publicly warned in December 2022 that NBI Markets was not authorized in Italy.
  • The operation is now defunct: nbimarkets.net and nbimarkets.com no longer resolve and the domains have been dropped.

Two independent hard findings, a regulator warning naming the exact website and confirmed use of another firm's identity, place this in the confirmed-scam band. The disappearance of the sites does not clear the record.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

We looked for an innocent explanation before concluding.

  • A regional arm or rebrand of the real NBI? No. CySEC listed nbimarkets.net as not authorized, and the genuine firm's site names only nbinvest.com and never mentions NBI Markets.
  • A new licence simply missing from the registers? No. The credentials shown belong to a different company, and the FCA, ASIC and FSCA claims have no matching entries at all.
  • Planted competitor complaints? Possible for some online reviews, but the verdict does not rest on complaints. It rests on two regulators' warnings and the copied identity.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

This verdict would change only on register evidence.

  • If CySEC's register added nbimarkets.net to the authorized websites of NBI Investments Limited (CIF 162/12), the impersonation finding would fall away.
  • If the FCA, ASIC or FSCA registers showed a genuine authorization tied to this website, the false-claim finding would soften.
  • Neither is the case, and the operation has since gone dark.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

12 questions
Is NBI Markets a scam?

Yes. NBI Markets is a clone that copied the identity of the genuine, CySEC-licensed NBI Investments Ltd. Two regulators, CySEC and CONSOB, have warned about it, and its false FCA, ASIC and FSCA claims do not check out.

Is NBI Markets a fraud?

We assess the risk of fraud as high. The operation used another company's name, address and regulatory number and advertised authorizations it did not hold. We are not a court, so we describe the conduct and the regulators' warnings rather than assert a criminal finding.

Is NBI Markets regulated?

No. It holds no licence of its own. The CySEC and CONSOB credentials it showed belong to a different firm, and the FCA, ASIC and FSCA registers have no matching entry for this website.

Is NBI Markets the same company as NBI Investments Ltd at nbinvest.com?

No. nbinvest.com is the genuine, CySEC-licensed NBI Investments Limited (CIF 162/12). NBI Markets at nbimarkets.net was a separate operation that impersonated it. CySEC has said nbimarkets.net is not one of its authorized websites.

Can I withdraw my money from NBI Markets?

The websites are offline and the operation has disappeared, so there is no working channel to request a withdrawal. Anyone with a balance should treat the money as at risk and pursue a bank chargeback.

Is my money safe with NBI Markets?

No. There is no regulator standing behind it and no compensation scheme. Money sent to an unregulated clone is generally unrecoverable.

Who owns NBI Markets?

The true operators are not disclosed. It presented itself using the genuine NBI Investments Limited's Cyprus identity, but that identity is impersonated, so the people behind the site are unknown.

How old is NBI Markets?

The website appeared around late 2022 and was short-lived. By the end of 2023 it was only a placeholder, and the domains have since been dropped.

What is a broker clone?

A clone is a fake operation that copies the name, licence number or address of a real regulated company to look trustworthy. NBI Markets copied the genuine NBI Investments Limited.

Did CONSOB or CySEC warn about NBI Markets?

Yes. CONSOB warned in December 2022 that NBI Markets was not authorized in Italy, and CySEC named nbimarkets.net in a public warning of sites that do not belong to firms on its register.

What should I do if I was scammed by NBI Markets?

Gather your records such as deposits, emails and account-manager names, ask your bank or card issuer for a chargeback, and file reports with CySEC, CONSOB and your local police or financial regulator. Be wary of recovery services that ask for an upfront fee, as these often target victims a second time.

What should I check before depositing with any broker?

Open the regulator's own register and confirm the exact website and company name are listed, not just a matching brand. Check for warning-list entries, and be suspicious of a broker that claims several big-name regulators at once.

Our advice

Treat this operation as unsafe.

  • Do not send money. If you already deposited, treat the funds as at risk and ask your bank or card provider about a chargeback straight away.
  • Report the impersonation to CySEC and CONSOB. The genuine NBI Investments Ltd may also wish to act.
  • Keep a public warning that names the impersonated firm so people searching for the real NBI are not misled.
