Broker Summary
What Wikilix has recorded about OW Markets: its history, the licences it holds, its trading conditions and its fees.
Overview
OW Markets is the retail trading brand of ONE WORLD MARKETS LTD, a Seychelles international business company incorporated on 26 January 2023 and registered at CT House, Office No. 9A, Providence, Mahe. It offers leveraged trading in foreign exchange, indices, futures, energies, metals and cryptocurrencies through a single MetaTrader 5 environment. The brand is young, its client base is concentrated in a small number of markets, and its published operation is run entirely from the offshore entity rather than from any onshore subsidiary.
Regulation and licence
The broker operates under one authorisation: a Seychelles Financial Services Authority securities dealer licence, number SD187, issued to ONE WORLD MARKETS LTD. That licence is genuine and in force, and it does permit dealing in derivatives, securities, futures and options. What it is not is onshore supervision. The Seychelles regime is a light-touch one: capital requirements are modest, conduct supervision is limited, and it is a third-tier authority by any comparative measure. There is no European, British, Australian or other first-tier licence behind the brand.
Safety of client funds
This is the section that should decide the matter for most readers. A Seychelles securities dealer licence carries no investor compensation scheme and no statutory client-money insurance. If the firm fails, or if it simply declines to pay, there is no fund that makes a client whole, and the practical route to redress runs through Seychelles rather than through a regulator in the client's own country. WIKILIX also notes unresolved client accounts of profits being removed from MetaTrader 5 balances and withdrawals going unpaid. Those accounts are individually unverified, but they describe the specific failure mode an offshore structure is least able to protect against.
Accounts
Two live accounts are published: CLASSIC and ZERO. Both are quoted at a minimum deposit of USD 500 and a maximum leverage of 1:500. The ZERO account is the commission-bearing, tight-spread tier at USD 8 per round turn; CLASSIC carries no commission and a wider spread. Swap-free and demo accounts are offered alongside them.
Fees and leverage
Spreads are variable and quoted from zero on the ZERO tier. The USD 8 round-turn commission on that tier is competitive on its face. Leverage at 1:500 is far above what an onshore regulator would allow a retail client, and it is the single largest source of loss risk in the offering, independent of anything to do with the broker's conduct.
Platforms
MetaTrader 5 only, on web, Windows, Android and iOS, served from one live server hosted in the United Kingdom. There is no MetaTrader 4 and no proprietary terminal. MT5 is a mature, well-understood platform, and its presence says nothing either way about the firm behind it.
Funding
Deposits and withdrawals are handled through Visa and Mastercard cards and bank transfer. The broker does not publish a fee schedule, processing-time commitment or withdrawal limits that WIKILIX was able to read, which is a meaningful gap for a firm whose most common complaint concerns payment.
Pros and cons
- For: the licence is real and the licensed entity matches the operating company exactly; the corporate registration is verifiable and active; the platform is standard; the commission on the ZERO tier is reasonable.
- Against: offshore-only regulation with no compensation scheme; a firm barely three years old; 1:500 leverage; a USD 500 entry point that is high for an offshore start-up; unresolved payment complaints; commercial terms and country restrictions that the site does not make readable.
Assessment
OW Markets is a real, registered, licensed offshore broker rather than an invented one, and it deserves to be described that way. It is also a high-risk place to hold money. The protection a client actually receives here is the protection Seychelles offers, which is thin, and the complaints on record point at exactly the risk that thinness leaves open. Traders who want recourse when something goes wrong are better served by a broker holding a first-tier licence. Anyone who does deal here should treat the deposit as capital they can afford to lose in full and should test withdrawals early and small.
Regulatory Licenses
Every licence OW Markets has in force is from an offshore regulator. Most carry no compensation scheme — each row below says what the issuing regulator actually requires.
