Is SF Capital FX a scam?

High risk (unverified)MEDIUM confidence
Updated September 23, 2026
Offshore broker overselling a UAE promotion licence

SF Capital FX is not a confirmed scam and we found no evidence of fraud, but we rate it high risk at 65 out of 100: your funds would be held by a young Comoros company under a near-worthless offshore licence, while the 'UAE SCA' badge it advertises is only a promotion permit that the UAE regulator itself says does not authorise trading.

  • Your trading counterparty is SF Capital LTD, a 2024 Comoros (Mwali/MISA) company; MISA is an offshore registrar the Comoros central bank has publicly disavowed.
  • The site leads with 'Multi-Regulated' and 'UAE SCA Category 5', but the SCA's own register states that Category 5 covers only 'Introduction' and 'Promotion' and does not permit brokerage, spot FX, derivatives or handling client orders.
  • The website was registered in May 2024 and the UAE entity was created in August 2025, so the operation is only about two years old.
  • Trustpilot is split (about 64 percent five-star, 36 percent one-star) with users alleging money taken and withdrawals only partly paid, plus a 'recovery' shill review.
  • No regulator has published a warning naming sfcapitalfx.com, and both licences it names are genuine, which is why this is high risk rather than a confirmed scam.

Risk scorecard

Each area is scored 0 (clean) to 10 (worst). Higher means more risk.

Worst area: High
SeverityLowModerateHighCritical

Regulation

7/10 · High

Holds a real but near-worthless Comoros MISA brokerage licence plus a genuine UAE SCA Category 5 permit; but Category 5 is promotion and introduction only, so the money-holding entity relies on a disavowed offshore registrar.

Identity & transparency

5/10 · Moderate

Legal entities, registration numbers and addresses are disclosed and verifiable, but the advertised Dubai HQ conflicts with a Turkish contact number on the regulator record and a promotion entity website that never references the SF Capital FX brand.

Withdrawals & conduct

5/10 · Moderate

Several one-star reviews allege money taken and withdrawals only partly paid, plus a recovery shill review; the fund-integrity direction is real but the sample is thin and not cross-checked across platforms.

Reputation

6/10 · High

Trustpilot 3.3 out of 5 on only 14 reviews, split roughly 64 percent five-star and 36 percent one-star (a bimodal, astroturf-shaped distribution) with scam allegations; no regulator warning names the site.

Website claims

7/10 · High

Leads with 'Multi-Regulated' and 'UAE SCA Category 5' as if it were brokerage regulation, which the UAE regulator's own register expressly denies; 'segregated accounts, top-tier banking' claims are unverified.

Operational history

5/10 · Moderate

About two years old (domain May 2024, Comoros entity 2024, UAE entity August 2025); a young operation where a clean-looking record carries little weight.

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

We rate SF Capital FX high risk. The evidence-based score came out at about 61 out of 100; because the operation is under three years old, the published figure is lifted to 65. That uplift reflects how little a clean-looking record is worth on a brand-new offshore broker, not any proven theft.

  • The money entity is offshore and weak. SF Capital LTD is a Comoros (Mwali/MISA) company. MISA is an autonomous-island registrar the Comoros central bank has disavowed, with no compensation scheme and no real supervision.
  • The headline UAE regulation is misleading. The site leads with 'UAE SCA Category 5', but the SCA/CMA register states the licence does 'not in any way authorize the company to conduct trading operations, manage portfolios, or execute clients orders'. The broker's own company page confirms the UAE entity only performs 'Introduction' and 'Promotion'.
  • The regulatory veneer is recent. The UAE entity and its website were both created on 13 August 2025, more than a year after the Comoros brokerage started in 2024.
  • Users report fund problems. Trustpilot carries one-star reviews alleging money taken and withdrawals only partly paid, alongside a 'recovery' shill review. The pattern is not large or cross-checked enough to prove systematic theft, but it points the same way.
  • What we did not find. No regulator warning names this website, the offshore licence is genuine, and the written bonus terms are ordinary. So this is high risk, not a confirmed scam.

  • E1The UAE Capital Market Authority (SCA) register lists SFC Financial Services L.L.C as Active with only two granted activities, 'Introduction' and 'Promotion', and displays a notice that the company is 'not licensed by the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) to conduct brokerage activities in financial derivatives contracts, unregulated commodity contracts, or spot foreign exchange (Spot FX) trading'.

  • E4The Mwali (MISA) authorised-brokerage list shows SF CAPITAL LTD, licence BFX2024131, date of issue 11/06/2024, status Active, website https://sfcapitalfx.com/, confirming the offshore brokerage licence is genuine and belongs to this operation, but issued by a registrar the Comoros central bank has disavowed.

  • E5Domain records show sfcapitalfx.com was registered on 2024-05-09, while the UAE entity's website sfcfinancial.com was registered on 2025-08-13, matching the SCA register establish date of 13 August 2025 for SFC Financial Services L.L.C. The operation is about two years old and the UAE regulatory veneer was added over a year later.

    ModerateDomain registration records (RDAP)
  • E6The SCA register lists SFC Financial Services L.L.C with a contact and fax number beginning +90 (Turkey) and an establish date of 13 August 2025; the mobile app is published on the Turkish Apple App Store and the site markets itself to Iraq and Kurdistan, indicating real operations connected to Turkey rather than the advertised Dubai headquarters.

  • E7Trustpilot for sfcapitalfx.com shows 14 reviews at 3.3 out of 5 with a bimodal split (about 64 percent five-star, 36 percent one-star). One-star reviews include 'This broker stole my money... i waited 20 days and at the end they only send 20 percent of it i still havent gotten my profite' and warnings that the 100 percent bonus is 'a trick', alongside a recovery-service shill review.

  • E8Searches of the main regulator warning lists (IOSCO investor alerts, FCA, SEC) returned no alert naming sfcapitalfx.com or SF Capital FX. An older FCA warning for an unrelated 'SF Trading' is a different entity and is not attributed to this broker.

  • E11The promotions page offers a 100 percent first-deposit bonus up to $500; the written terms state the bonus itself cannot be withdrawn but that profits generated with it are fully withdrawable, which is a standard structure rather than a principal-locking withdrawal trap.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

In fairness, several things here are real and better than the worst offshore operators.

  • Both licences it names are genuine. The Comoros MISA brokerage licence (BFX2024131) is on the Mwali authorised-brokerage list and tied to this exact website, and the UAE SCA Category 5 permit is a real, active entry on the regulator's register.
  • The company discloses its structure. Its company page names both entities, their registration numbers, and the fact that the UAE arm is a promotion and introduction company.
  • The 100 percent bonus is not a principal-lock. The written terms say the bonus itself cannot be withdrawn but profits are fully withdrawable, which is standard rather than a withdrawal trap.
  • There is no regulator warning and no court ruling against this website, and the volume of complaints is small.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

The picture would improve, or worsen, on any of these.

  • Better: the UAE regulator listing SFC Financial Services as authorised to conduct brokerage rather than only promotion, or the broker moving client money to a tier-1 or tier-2 regulated entity.
  • Better: a longer, clean track record with independent evidence of paid withdrawals across more than one platform.
  • Worse: a regulator warning naming sfcapitalfx.com, or a documented, specific pattern of refused withdrawals or demands for extra 'tax' or 'fees' to release funds. Any of these would move this toward a scam verdict.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

12 questions
Is SF Capital FX a scam?

We did not find proof that SF Capital FX is an outright scam, but we rate it high risk at 65 out of 100. Your trading counterparty is a Comoros company on a weak offshore licence, and the UAE regulation it advertises does not actually cover trading. Treat it with caution.

Is SF Capital FX a fraud?

We found no regulator warning and no court ruling that SF Capital FX commits fraud. Some users allege their money was taken or only partly returned, but the evidence is limited. We assess the risk as high rather than confirming fraud.

Is SF Capital FX regulated?

Only weakly. The trading entity, SF Capital LTD, holds a Comoros (Mwali/MISA) offshore licence, which the Comoros central bank has disavowed. The UAE SCA licence it shows belongs to a separate promotion company and does not permit brokerage.

What is the UAE SCA Category 5 licence, and does it cover trading?

Category 5 is a promotion and introduction licence. The UAE regulator's own register states this licence does not authorise brokerage, spot FX, derivatives or handling client orders. So the 'UAE SCA regulated' impression is misleading for a trading account.

Is my money safe with SF Capital FX?

There is little protection. Client funds sit with an offshore Comoros entity that has no compensation scheme and no meaningful supervision. If the firm failed or refused to pay, your options for recovery would be very limited.

Can I withdraw my money from SF Capital FX?

Some users report being paid; others report withdrawals refused or only partly paid. If you have an account, test a small withdrawal before adding funds, and never pay any 'fee' or 'tax' demanded before a withdrawal is released.

Who is behind SF Capital FX?

Two entities: SF Capital LTD (Comoros, registration HT00524070), which is your trading counterparty, and SFC Financial Services L.L.C (Dubai), a promotion-only company. The regulator record and the app listing point to operations connected to Turkey.

Where is SF Capital FX based?

It advertises a Dubai headquarters, but the trading company is incorporated in the Comoros Union (Mohéli). The UAE regulator lists a Turkish phone number for the Dubai promotion entity.

How old is SF Capital FX?

New. The website was registered in May 2024, the Comoros company dates to 2024, and the UAE entity was created in August 2025. The operation is about two years old.

Is the Comoros MISA licence worth anything?

Very little. Mwali/MISA is an autonomous-island registrar that the Comoros central bank has publicly disavowed. A MISA licence is best read as an attempt to look regulated at low cost, not as real protection for your money.

Is SF Capital FX a clone of another broker?

No. We found no evidence it impersonates a specific regulated firm. Its licences genuinely belong to its own entities. The problem is weak regulation and an overstated UAE claim, not identity theft.

What should I check before depositing, and what if I was already scammed?

Check the regulator registers yourself using the links above, prefer brokers with tier-1 or tier-2 licences, and start with a tiny deposit. If you cannot withdraw, stop depositing, gather your records, report to your local regulator and your bank or card provider, and ignore 'recovery' services, which often target victims a second time.

What we recommend

The practical takeaway from everything above.

Our advice

For anyone considering SF Capital FX:

  • Treat the 'UAE regulated' message with caution. The UAE licence is promotion-only and does not protect trading funds.
  • Understand that your counterparty is a Comoros MISA company with little meaningful protection if something goes wrong.
  • If you already hold funds there, test a small withdrawal before adding more, and keep records of deposits, tickets and chats.
  • Never pay any 'tax', 'fee' or 'unlock' charge asked for before a withdrawal, and ignore unsolicited 'recovery' offers, which target victims a second time.

This is an independent assessment of risk, not a legal ruling. Scores and verdicts follow the Wikilix broker-safety methodology and can change as new evidence appears. Review scores are treated with caution when a broker’s reviews look manipulated. Last reviewed September 23, 2026.
