Is Sinarmas Futures a scam?

High risk (unverified)MEDIUM confidence
Updated August 25, 2026
No scam indicators found; retired brand in run-off

No. We found no evidence that Sinarmas Futures is a scam. Its Indonesian futures licence is real, and we confirmed it ourselves on the regulator's own public register on 25 August 2026. We still publish this page at 65 percent, and the reason is important: the brand is being retired, and in twenty years of operation we could not find a single independent account from a real client. That is a gap in what we can verify, not a finding of wrongdoing.

  • The licence is genuine. BAPPEBTI, Indonesia's government futures regulator, lists licence 889/BAPPEBTI/SI/3/2006 and names www.sinarmasfutures.co.id as the licence holder's website. The website and the licence match, so this is not a clone.
  • The company has changed its name. The register now records the holder as PT Nano Megang Futures, formerly PT Sinarmas Futures. Same company, new name, new office, new brand: Nanofutures.
  • The old website is out of date. sinarmasfutures.co.id still shows the old company name, the old Thamrin address and the old group logos. It has no account form, no client login and no way to deposit.
  • No complaints anywhere. We found no withdrawal complaints, no regulator warnings and no enforcement action against this broker on any platform we checked.
  • We also found no client reviews at all. No Trustpilot page, no forum threads, nothing first-hand. For a firm licensed since 2006, that silence is why we do not mark this one as clear.

Worst area: Moderate

Regulation

3/10 · Low

Genuine, in-force national licence from Indonesia's government futures regulator, confirmed by us on its own register, with separated client accounts recorded; below tier one only because there is no compensation scheme.

Identity & transparency

4/10 · Moderate

Entity, address, phone, bank accounts and named representatives are all public on the regulator's register, but the investigated website shows an outdated company name and address and implies a corporate group tie we could not confirm still holds.

Withdrawals & conduct

2/10 · Low

No fund-integrity complaints found on any platform searched, no advance-fee demands and no arbitration cases; the score is not lower only because the underlying client record is thin.

Reputation

4/10 · Moderate

Clean in the sense that there are no warnings, sanctions or complaints, but effectively empty: no Trustpilot page, no forum discussion and no first-hand client accounts after twenty years of licensed operation.

Website claims

4/10 · Moderate

The factual claims about the licence, exchange membership and 2006 start date are all true and verifiable, with a proper risk warning; the failing is staleness, since the published entity name and address no longer match the regulator's record.

Operational history

2/10 · Low

Roughly twenty years verified from independent sources: licence issued 2006, incorporation reported 2004, and the site archived as a live broker page since October 2008.

Who they are

A quick desk file on the company behind the brand.

Here is the desk file on the company behind this website.

  • Brand: Sinarmas Futures, now trading as Nanofutures
  • Legal entity: PT Nano Megang Futures, recorded by the regulator as formerly PT Sinarmas Futures
  • Registered: Plaza Timor, 6th floor, Jl. Timor No. 2, Gondangdia, Menteng, Central Jakarta 10350, Indonesia. The legacy website still shows an older address at Sinar Mas Land Plaza, Menara III, Jl. M.H. Thamrin No. 51.
  • Website: www.sinarmasfutures.co.id, the legacy brochure page. The company's live site is nanofutures.io.
  • Only licence: BAPPEBTI 889/BAPPEBTI/SI/3/2006, a full Indonesian futures brokerage licence, plus alternative trading system approval 33/BAPPEBTI/SP/5/2008 recorded on the same entry
  • Offers: commodity futures, gold, crude oil and forex through the GOFX contracts on the Indonesian exchange, traded on MetaTrader 5
  • Not accepted: the legacy site opens no accounts at all. It carries no registration form and no client login, so nobody can deposit through it.
  • Age claim: licensed since 2006, and we could verify that. The regulator's register, the archived website going back to October 2008 and the successor brand all agree on roughly twenty years of operation.

Proof found

Proof of regulation on an official register: Yes

We confirmed this broker on a genuine regulator’s register.

Licences the broker publishes

BAPPEBTI (Badan Pengawas Perdagangan Berjangka Komoditi)

VerifiedTier 3
Indonesia's statutory commodity futures regulator, part of the Ministry of Trade. It licenses and supervises futures brokers, requires client money to be held in separated bank accounts and runs a public complaints portal.
Protection: Moderate. Client funds must sit in separated accounts at named banks, and there is a formal escalation route through the regulator, then BAKTI arbitration, then the Central Jakarta District Court. There is no investor compensation fund.
Found by our investigation (1) — the broker does not list these on its own site

BAPPEBTI alternative trading system approval (Izin SPA)

Found by us — not listed by the broker

VerifiedTier 3
A second permission recorded on the same register entry. It authorises the broker to offer alternative trading system contracts, which is what allows the forex, gold and crude oil products sold under the GOFX name.
Protection: Same protections as the main brokerage licence: separated client accounts and the regulator's complaint and arbitration route.
BAPPEBTI register entry for licence 889/BAPPEBTI/SI/3/2006, showing the holder as PT Nano Megang Futures, formerly PT Sinarmas Futures, with its Jakarta address, separated client bank accounts and www.sinarmasfutures.co.id recorded as its website

Why we reached this verdict

How the evidence adds up.

We separate two things here: what the company is, and what we were able to confirm about how it treats clients. The first checks out. The second we could not establish.

  • The regulator's own register settles the identity question. We opened the BAPPEBTI entry for licence 889/BAPPEBTI/SI/3/2006 on 25 August 2026. It names the holder as PT NANO MEGANG FUTURES d/h PT. SINARMAS FUTURES, gives a Jakarta address, a phone number, five separated client bank accounts at Bank Central Asia, CIMB Niaga and Bank Sinarmas, and seven named licensed broker representatives. The website field on that entry reads www.sinarmasfutures.co.id, which is the exact site we investigated. A clone cannot produce that match.
  • The name change is disclosed, not hidden. The company's live site at nanofutures.io states plainly that Sinarmas Futures has transformed into Nanofutures, and gives the Plaza Timor address and the phone number that both match the regulator's record character for character. Rebrands are one of the ways scams try to shed a history. This one runs the other way: the successor advertises the connection rather than burying it.
  • The history is real and we checked it. The website was already running as a broker site when the Internet Archive first captured it in October 2008. The licence dates to 2006 and company records point to incorporation in 2004. Nothing here resembles a firm claiming years it does not have.
  • Nothing negative surfaced. No regulator warning, no enforcement action, no arbitration case, no withdrawal complaint on any platform we searched, in Indonesian or English.
  • But the client record is empty, and that is what carries the number. There is no Trustpilot page for this domain. There are no forum threads, no Reddit discussion, no first-hand posts from anyone who deposited or withdrew money. What exists is a handful of third-party directory write-ups, several of which contain plain factual errors about the firm. After twenty years of licensed operation, we expected to find some trace of real customers and we found none.
  • The website itself is in run-off. It publishes a company name and an address that no longer match the regulator's record, displays sister-company logos from the old corporate group, and is dated 2023. It opens no accounts and takes no money. That is not fraud, but a stale page under a retired brand is exactly the kind of asset that gets misused later, and the company already warns visitors about fake sites trading on its name.
  • So the honest reading is this: our evidence puts the risk at about 33 percent. We publish 65 percent because a licensed brokerage with no verifiable client history, on a website that no longer matches its own regulator's record, should not be read as a safe place to send money. We are telling you what we could not establish, not accusing this company of anything.

  • E6Inspection of the investigated website's own code found no forms of any kind: no registration, no client login, no deposit or payment page. The page is not currently collecting money or personal data.

  • E7The website publishes no licence number and offers no link to the regulator's register, so a visitor cannot verify the firm from the page itself. It does carry a proper high-risk warning and directs clients to BAPPEBTI's public complaints portal and to BAKTI arbitration.

  • E8A search of review platforms and forums in both Indonesian and English returned no complaints about refused or delayed withdrawals, no frozen accounts, no demands for extra payments and no arbitration or court cases involving this broker.

ModerateComplaint sweep across web search in Indonesian and English, Trustpilot, Reddit and Kaskus
  • E9No Trustpilot page exists for this domain and no first-hand client reviews were found on any independent platform. The only third-party material is a small number of directory write-ups, several of which contain plain factual errors about the firm, including a wrong founding year and platforms it does not offer. After twenty years of licensed operation this is an unusually empty client record.

ModerateReview-platform sweep, including a third-party broker directory read as a lead only
  • E10No regulator warning, alert-list entry, sanction or enforcement action naming this broker, this domain or licence 889/BAPPEBTI/SI/3/2006 was found. The firm appears on BAPPEBTI's licensed broker register rather than on any warning list.

ModerateWarning-list and enforcement sweep against the brand, domain and licence number
  • E11The registered address on the regulator's record, Plaza Timor at Jl. Timor No. 2 in Menteng, is a genuine commercial office building in Central Jakarta, and the same address appears on the company's current website. Property listings independently confirm the building exists and is leased as office space.

ModerateCross-check of the registered address against commercial property listings and the company's live site
  • E12The website itself warns visitors that fraudsters operate fake sites copying the company's name and appearance, and states that its only official channels are its email address, its website and its Instagram account. A retired brand on a stale domain is an attractive target for exactly that kind of impersonation.

The other side

The strongest case in this broker’s favour.

The case for this broker is stronger than the headline number suggests, and it deserves to be stated properly.

  • This is a real, supervised business. BAPPEBTI is a statutory government regulator sitting under Indonesia's Ministry of Trade, not a nameplate offshore registrar. It requires client money to be held in separated accounts at named banks, and those accounts are printed on the public register entry.
  • Clients have somewhere to go if something goes wrong. Indonesia gives futures clients a formal escalation path: a complaint to the broker, then the regulator's public complaints portal, then arbitration at BAKTI, then the Central Jakarta District Court. Most weakly regulated brokers offer nothing of the sort.
  • Twenty years is twenty years. A licence granted in 2006, a company incorporated in 2004 and an archived website reaching back to 2008 all point the same way. Fraudulent operations rarely survive two decades under a national regulator without a single complaint.
  • The office is real. The registered address is a floor of Plaza Timor, a commercial office building in Menteng, Central Jakarta, and it matches the address on the company's live site exactly.
  • The old site does not take money. We checked its code directly. There is no form on it, no signup, no login, no payment page. Whatever risk a stale page carries, it is not currently collecting deposits from anyone.
  • The claims on the site are true. Licensed by BAPPEBTI since 2006, member of the Indonesian exchange and clearing house, sixteen-plus years of operation. We checked each of those and they hold up. The site also carries a genuine risk warning and points visitors to the regulator's complaints portal rather than hiding it.
  • A thin review footprint has an innocent explanation. Indonesian domestic futures brokers sell largely offline, to local clients, in Indonesian. Trustpilot is not where those customers go. Absence of reviews is not the same as bad reviews, and we have not treated it as such.

What would change this

What we would need to see to revise the verdict.

This verdict is about what we could not confirm, so it can move in either direction quickly.

  • Toward a clean rating: a body of genuine first-hand client reviews on an independent platform, describing deposits and completed withdrawals with real detail, would remove the main reason for the current number.
  • Toward a clean rating: the legacy website being updated to show the current legal entity PT Nano Megang Futures, the Plaza Timor address, the licence number and a direct link to the BAPPEBTI register entry. Or the domain simply redirecting to nanofutures.io.
  • Toward a clean rating: a corporate registry record we can open directly, confirming the 2004 incorporation and the current directors and ownership.
  • Toward a worse rating: any BAPPEBTI sanction, suspension or freeze against licence 889/BAPPEBTI/SI/3/2006, or the entry disappearing from the licensed broker register.
  • Toward a worse rating: credible reports of withdrawals being refused or delayed, or of anyone being asked to pay a tax, fee or unlock charge before receiving their own money. One specific, checkable case of that would change this report substantially.
  • Toward a much worse rating: the sinarmasfutures.co.id domain starting to collect deposits, personal data or logins while the licensed entity operates elsewhere under a different name. That is the specific risk this stale page creates.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about this broker’s safety.

14 questions
Is Sinarmas Futures a scam?

We found no evidence that it is. Its Indonesian futures licence is genuine and we confirmed it on the regulator's own public register. The reason this report carries a 65 percent risk figure is that the brand is being retired and we could not find any independent record of real client experience, not that we found misconduct.

Is Sinarmas Futures regulated?

Yes. It holds licence 889/BAPPEBTI/SI/3/2006 from BAPPEBTI, Indonesia's commodity futures regulator under the Ministry of Trade. The same register entry also records alternative trading system approval 33/BAPPEBTI/SP/5/2008, which is what permits it to offer forex and gold products.

Why does the regulator show a different company name?

Because the company changed its name. BAPPEBTI records the holder as PT Nano Megang Futures, formerly PT Sinarmas Futures. It is the same legal entity with a new name, a new office in Menteng and a new brand called Nanofutures.

Is Sinarmas Futures a clone of a real broker?

No. A clone quotes someone else's licence number. Here the regulator's own entry for licence 889 names www.sinarmasfutures.co.id as the licence holder's website, so the site and the licence belong together. This is the opposite of a clone.

Can I withdraw my money from Sinarmas Futures?

We found no complaints about withdrawals being refused or delayed anywhere we searched. We also found no first-hand accounts confirming that withdrawals work smoothly. If you have an account, test a small withdrawal before adding more money.

Is my money safe with this broker?

Indonesian rules require client funds to sit in separated accounts, and the register names those accounts at Bank Central Asia, CIMB Niaga and Bank Sinarmas. That is real protection, but there is no investor compensation scheme of the kind found in the UK or Australia, and leveraged trading can still lose you more than you put in.

Who owns Sinarmas Futures?

The licensed entity is PT Nano Megang Futures, based at Plaza Timor in Menteng, Central Jakarta. The legacy website still displays branding from the Sinar Mas corporate group and that group's old Thamrin address, which we could not confirm still reflects the current ownership.

How old is Sinarmas Futures?

About twenty years. The licence dates from 2006, company records point to incorporation in 2004, and the website was already running as a broker site when it was first archived in October 2008. We verified the age rather than taking it from the About page.

What is a BAPPEBTI licence actually worth?

It is genuine national regulation, not an offshore registration. BAPPEBTI licenses and supervises futures brokers, requires separated client accounts and runs a public complaints portal. It sits below regulators such as the FCA or ASIC because there is no compensation fund, and Indonesia's retail futures sector has a mixed consumer record.

Why can I not open an account on the Sinarmas Futures website?

Because the page no longer offers one. We inspected the site directly and it contains no registration form, no client login and no deposit page. It is a leftover brochure page from the retired brand. Account opening happens on the company's current site.

What is Nanofutures and how is it connected?

Nanofutures is the current trading brand of the same licensed company. Its site states that Sinarmas Futures has transformed into Nanofutures, and its address and phone number match the regulator's record exactly. If you are dealing with this business today, that is the operation you are dealing with.

Why does this report show 65 percent if nothing bad was found?

Because finding nothing is not the same as finding that something is clean. We could not locate a single verifiable client review across the platforms we checked, and the website under investigation no longer matches its own regulator's record. Our evidence-based figure was about 33 percent, and we raise it to reflect how little client history we could establish.

How do I check this broker myself?

Open the BAPPEBTI register entry for licence 889/BAPPEBTI/SI/3/2006 and compare the company name, address and phone number against whatever you have been given. If they do not match, stop and ask why before sending any money.

What should I do if I think I have been scammed by someone using this name?

The company warns publicly that fake websites copy its name and appearance. Stop sending money immediately, keep all messages, transfer receipts and account statements, and file a complaint through BAPPEBTI's public complaints portal. Report the payments to your bank as soon as possible, since fast reporting improves the chance of recovery.

What we recommend

The practical takeaway from everything above.

Our advice

If you are considering this broker, here is what we would actually do.

  • Do not treat the old website as the company. sinarmasfutures.co.id shows a company name and address the regulator no longer records. Deal with the licensed entity under its current name and at its current address.
  • Check the register yourself before anything else. Open the BAPPEBTI entry for licence 889/BAPPEBTI/SI/3/2006 and confirm the name, address and phone number you are being given match what the regulator shows.
  • Only ever pay into the separated client accounts named on that register entry. Those are at Bank Central Asia, CIMB Niaga and Bank Sinarmas. Never send money to a personal account, a staff member's account or a wallet address, whatever reason you are given.
  • Verify the person contacting you. The register names the licensed broker representatives. If someone approaches you claiming to represent this firm and is not on that list, treat it as a warning sign.
  • Be alert to impersonation. The company publicly warns that fake sites copy its name and appearance. Type the address yourself rather than following a link from a message or an advert.
  • Start small and test a withdrawal early. Before committing meaningful money, put in a modest amount and take some out. Do that once, successfully, before you scale up.
  • Know your escalation route. Complain to the broker first, then use the regulator's complaints portal, then BAKTI arbitration or the Central Jakarta District Court. Keep every statement, receipt and message.
  • Remember what this product is. Leveraged futures and forex can lose you more than you deposit. Regulation does not protect you from losing money on a trade.
